THIS IS A “LOVE HOTEL” IN THE RED LIGHT DISTRICT!!!! Our stay here was not terrible, but had I known this, I would have selected a different hotel. I did read reviews before booking but I didn’t make this connection so I put it first in my review. The room was large and clean with nice amenities (fridge, hair dryer, free toiletries, etc.) The lobby is outdated and the outside is very run down. There was a large sign either advertising the costumes you could order or for the type of VERY young women you could order. I am genuinely not sure which. The staff we encountered was mostly pleasant. Check-in and out is designed for discretion due to the nature of most visits - so you can’t actually see the staff. The area around this hotel is definitely not an area we would want to stay in again, and not a great impression of Tokyo for our first visit. It is filthy! Trash and rats everywhere. It was close to a few coffee shops and within easy walking distance of the Golden Gai area but you walk through very seedy (happy-ending advertising) massage parlors to get into other areas. If that is what you are looking for in a hotel then this hotel will probably work well for you, but anyone booking this hotel should understand what it is.
