Great rooms. Very modern. Hotel is in an awesome location downtown withing walking distance to so many cool things. Parking is another story. Carpark is 10minutes walk away and basically id rec never using the car for anything that you can walk or uber to. Parking in general is a nightmare

Room 010. Basement room. Constant noise when main automatic door opened. Toilet very small, heared rail in toilet did not work. No where in shower to hang towel. The plug in basin did not work, unable to shave. Lighting in main area poor (no natural light).If you go to toilet in night had to switch on main light. Shower door did not shut. Coffee machine in bar only gave you a couple of options and mugs which were in the clean pile were dirty including one with lipstick on. Excess heat coming from cupboard with fridge in. On the positive, the reception staff, very good, and the bed was comfortable and the room clean

On two occasions housekeeper did not clean the room and breakfast which we paid for was terrible. No glssses , no juices, no cutlery, no food left and waiter running like a headless chicken around the room not knowing what to do. Pancreas were hard and no cups for coffee so we left after 15 min of trying to east and drink. Never again.

I think meaning of room service should be cleaning the room such as vacuum the room as well nit just making the bed. Specially if someone like us would stay there more than one night.so we didn't like the cleaning room unfortunately.

The room was dirty and bin not emptied. Hair on the toilet floor- not a good look. I reported it and while some cleaning was done it was still dirty. Offered poor 10% discount which I’ve not yet received.

Room was a very large open plan space and in a great location to the city. Room was clean well layed out with a king sized bed and a sofa bed The bathroom area was on one switch meaning in the night you lit the whole room up, not ideal with a small child. There is no kettle in the room and the fridge says not for use of food or medication. The hotel shop to purchase hot drinks was expensive. Staff were not friendly. Upon entering the hotel there were three reception staff none of them acknowledged us. I noticed the self check in so easily check in. When i quieried VIP status notification from Hotels.com they advised they didnt know what this was then carried on using the computer. When i asked if they could find out i was told it could be early/late check in but they only do this for Experien customers. Then once again blanked me. I chased this up with an email to be told its 20% off a single purchase in the shop. Upon check out i asked if i had a £8.50 to use as we hadnt used housekeeping. I was told this was off room service only, Thats not what the leaflets in the room stated but i didnt want to argue with staff who didnt care about customer service.

The only 2 downsides for us was no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, also we were room 526, near the lift, which kept on announcing "doors opening! " " doors closing!" thought the night!

Room design is nice/modern but not functional. The bathroom light switch is by the entrance door and the area is closed by a curtain only. Horrible experience if you need to use the loo during the night. Also thought the room was pretty small- no space to open our 2 bags.

Bed was really uncomfortable. Alongside pillows Door to the hallway wasnt very sound proof so we kept waking up to banging in the halls. The drinks are overpriced to the ninth degree, we do acknowledge your paying for convience but even then its extortionate Shower door didnt close properly so we had to be super careful about flooding the floors Staff were amazing when interacting with them Breakfast was alright, nothing to write home about and the coffee was burnt and really bitter. The theromstat glowing an ominous green didnt help sleep, we did turn it off, but it turned itself back on during the night which meant we woke up again Bed mechanism for sliding bed is creaky and jittery. maybe needs some tlc

Clever design in a small space. Clean and comfortable. Nice touch having the double blind so you can choose how much light you want. Two issues, the TV turned itself on 6 times in the night - clearly an electrical issue which was resolved the following day and the lights turned themselves off after about 15 minutes which was annoying

The location was convenient, close to the Railroad station, shopping, dining and pubs. The room was small and very tight. The bathroom is not an en suite but with the sink in the room with a door for the toilet and a door for the shower. There is very little privacy so if you are sharing the room you better like the other person. The bed was comfortable with nice linen and the room was very clean.

Room was clean, bizarre that there’s a plethora of coffee capsules and machine in the room, no milk, no teabags (other than 3 herbal teabags), mirrors are miles away from plug points (not easy for drying hair), toilet/shower situation (of being expected to perch on the toilet in full view (a frosted glass open box in the room) is utterly inexplicable. Who wants to share a toilet experience with others in the room?! Coffe machine in breakfast area needed x6 coffees for barely a quarter cup of coffee. Clean, staff were pleasant but absolutely not worth the money to not even be able to have a pee in private.

The hotel was in a prime location in the city centre close to all the attractions. The hotel was clean and staff friendly. Couldn’t fault it except would have been good to have tea /coffee kettle in room.

Poor stay, room wasn't ready at 3.40pm, told to wait in bar. Explained I was VIP member and was told they would check. Waited ages in bar to be served. When to check in 40 mins later, and was told that i had arrived before checkin, so explained no I hadn't and then had to ask about VIP benefits and given 2 free drinks = but they would not allow me to use this on the ones I had just purchased. The hallways were messy, in need of a hoover. Overall, really poor and this is the second time I have experience poor service at Edinburgh Yotel

Very disappointing stay. I stayed in Room 242 from 23 December 2025 to 26 December 2025. Throughout my entire stay, the toilet flush in the room was not functioning properly. On the first day, I went down to the ground floor reception and politely asked for the issue to be checked. The receptionist said she would take care of it. However, nothing had changed by the following day. I reported the problem again and asked whether the toilet had actually been checked, as it did not seem so. I was told that a message would be left for the person in charge. Despite this, the issue was never resolved. As a result, until the day of check-out, I had to go down to the public toilet on the ground floor every day to use the facilities. I find it unacceptable that I was assigned a room with a completely non-functioning toilet, and that no effective action was taken despite repeated and polite requests. What disappointed me most was not only the faulty room, but the lack of responsibility and follow-through in handling the situation. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this hotel.

After a rude reception, the hotel GM quickly addressed the issue and the remainder of our stay was smooth. I would describe Yotel as a 3 star hotel and with that mindset and understanding, it delivers.

Initially I was checked into a basement level accessible room. This wasn’t disclosed in the booking work flow, nor was it disclosed that it had no windows and therefore no daylight. As someone who travels weekly, not having daylight to wake up to will play havoc with my ability to cope with jetlag. The staff were very kind and helpful in sorting out a different room. Overall all the staff I encountered in reception, the bar and restaurant were extremely friendly and helpful.

Yotel EDI is located just on the outskirts of the new city part. Its about 20-25 min walk into the old part (Royal Mile etc), but is incredibly close to the shops (Princes St). There is a Tesco Express, Greggs & Costa all within 3-5 min walk from the hotel for inexpensive breakfast or snack options. However, the hotel breakfast is good value and freshly restocked. Staff have all be really friendly and pleasant and helpful. The walk into the main parts of the city is very easy - so I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is in a great area of the New Town. Close to restaurants, cafes and shops as well as easy walking to all the main sights. Our room was great - clean, comfortable, brilliant shower and controllable air con which was a huge plus in the unusually warm weather we had! Highly recommended

YOTEL was a very convenient homebase to explore Edinburgh - right on the edge of New Town, so a short walk from all the sights, but not so central as to be noisy or stressful to get to with suitcases. The rooms are a bit small with not a lot of space for unpacking, but their idea of having a bed that folds during the day helps.

Yotel is a nice hotel, located in a beautiful neighborhood close to the old town. You can walk to every touristic attraction from there. I would not recommend paying for the breakfast as what they offered is very limited, the quality is subpar and the staff who services the restaurant are unprofessional, condescending and in a rush to kick you out at 9:45 am as breakfast is until 10am.

I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Yotel Edinburgh. I was expecting a tight hotel room and minimum services. What I got was a good sized room with modern features and an extremely helpful staff. A good buffet breakfast was available for a reasonable charge and they had a nice bar for evening drinks and bar food. I recommend the Yotel Edinburgh.

Room was good , however I was in the middle of the corridor at the corner to the next corridor so it was quite noisy. No coffee or water in your room, this was available at reception but I was on the 5th floor so a bit of a trek. The coffee and the cooked breakfast was pretty poor and wouldn’t book it next time.

A good hotel with a central location. Breakfast was adequate but impressive -- the selection was limited, the pastries were not fresh, and the breakfast room was not exactly cosy. Still, did the job. The very "modern" style of the room wasn't the best for me (question of taste, probably). I would much rather have a desk and a bathroom properly separated from the rest of the room than a motorised adjustable bed.

Breakfast provision was poor value for money and the dining space was inadequate for the demand. I booked my breakfast via one of the automated check in machines on arrival - I thought £14 was excessive (Premier Inn breakfast is £10 and substantially better quality & quantity). When I went for breakfast the booking hadn’t registered so I was charged £16 which made it worse value. I raised this at reception and was told there was nothing that could be done. Because a tour group of 50 or more people were swarming around it was difficult to get seated and the choices were restricted the overall breakfast experience was pressured & uncomfortable and not my expectation of a hotel in this price bracket - a £75 per night hostel was the impression created.
