Disappointing stay despite a spacious family suite We stayed for three nights in a 52 m² family suite, Unfortunately, the stay was characterised by numerous issues and a general lack of quality control and proactive service. The room was not ready at the stated check-in time of 3:00 p.m. After an eight-hour drive with two tired children, we were repeatedly told that it would take another 15–20 minutes, but no one followed up when those estimates passed. Only after we asked were we offered juice and coffee. A realistic time estimate and proactive handling of the situation would have made a significant difference. The room smelled of drains, the sofa had an unpleasant smell, and the curtains were visibly dirty. There was no mattress topper for the sofa bed, and the suite only had double duvets, although families will often have one parent and one child sharing a bed. The taps were positioned so far behind the sinks that our children could not reach them, and the cups provided did not fit underneath the Nespresso machine. We accept that housekeeping must be requested, but basic matters such as sufficient toilet paper and empty waste bins should still be handled proactively. Finally, although our parking had been prepaid and checked twice, the card showed as expired when we attempted to leave. I had to reverse through the narrow underground car park and return to reception. After the card was checked once again, it worked. Ended up with the hotel refunding the parking fee.

We had a mixed experience at this hotel. On the positive side, the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was really good. The hotel is also located at a convenient distance from Hamburg City. However, there were a few drawbacks. We missed having a fridge in the room, and there was quite a bit of noise from the early morning due to building renovations right next door. Additionally, the immediate neighborhood around the hotel didn't feel very inviting. Overall, a nice hotel with great service, but our stay was slightly impacted by external factors.
