Leonardo Eden Hotel Amsterdam City Center

Have stayed here previously with my nephews as the hotel has a pool table and some other games as well as a small supermarket so keeps them occupied during wet days. Bar staff and reception team at every helpful and polite, nothing has been too much trouble. I’d recommend a superior room as they have been refurbished, older standard rooms don’t have great views and smell of damp. Rooms also don’t have a fridge or mini bar but there is a kettle and espresso machine. Odd that some of the hotel isn’t in use or for private functions only, lots of wasted space where a gym could be installed or spa

Great centrally located apartments attached to the main hotel, ours had a beautiful view of the Amstel - really polite and helpful reception staff on hand in the main hotel building. Easy transport links on the trams and trains and the hotel has a convenient luggage storage if you need it. *IMPORANT* Only key consideration for other guests considering the apartments in particular is the access... 3 flights of steep and narrow stairs, so not suitable for everyone and the hallway/landing was tired and in need of a refresh.

Great hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The in house bar is fun with a great bartender and friendly people. The entire hotel staff is great!

Modern hotel in an older building. Our room was the executive double and was pretty big. There was a bar, convenience store, Starbucks coffee machine, and a restaurant in the lobby. They also had a pool table and air hockey. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Beautiful Location just off of Rembrandtplein square, very central to everything.Great options for restaurants, coffeeshops and nightlife which are all within walking distance. Staff were friendly and helpful, check-in is made easy by either going to the desk or Self use kiosk. Check-in was is a 3pm but occasionally your room might be ready prior, as was ours. Rooms were very clean and spacious and had good amenities (complimentary teas and coffees, water and a cheeky choc, shower gel and shampoo). I booked a room with twin singles and the bed was comfortable felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. The only negative I have in regards to the particular room we stayed in, is that it still felt a little dark even with all the lights on this could be due to were our room was situated however I still wouldn’t expect that to be an issue. Look around the room at all the cards as those are your room guides, (you have to scan a QR code if you want your room to be serviced). Depending on the what you book , but it can also be added, a breakfast buffet is available. The hotel also has a bar and a DIY pizza and sandwich station, there is also a hotel shop within the lobby area where you can purchase food, beverage and snacks. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to family and friends Overall rating 4/5

Excellent hotel. Would be good to state they don’t have a restaurant but there were lots locally so wasn’t an issue but would have been nice to know

The check in process was simplified by a self check in computer and there were many available. The room was a corner executive room and was incredibly spacious. Centrally located near the Amstel River and all the action. We enjoyed late night snacks on the river and strolled thru the streets to see some sites. Check out was a breeze! The staff was very responsive and helpful.

Good thing: close to everything. Service was good, ordered extra towels and got them right away. Bad: small room which was not cleaned properly. Very dusty in the room and they wanted to clean the room every 3 days. I have posted a picture of the dusty cabinet. Bathroom had a few stupid things. The soap dispenser on the sink was at head level and I am almost 6 feet tall. The same thing in the shower. They had shower gel and shampoo but no conditioner. They also did not have body lotion. Did not use their restaurant as there are tons of cafes around for similar or cheaper prices. Customer service was excellent. This hotel offers you the capability of self checkin and making your keys. Security wise was good as you could not get into the elevator or the stairs without a key. Location is good, right on the water and a 2 min walk from the main square etc.

Perfect position and wonderful spacious room. The convenience of the the shop to get supplies without having to go out was great. The daily room service was hit and miss as to whether the tea and coffee was restocked and the dirty cups replaced. Staff were fantastic and definitely recommend. A great place to stay

This hotel is very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. They offered a breakfast for an additional cost, little pricey but the food was very fresh and good. Would stay here again

Disappointed with housekeeping service. We were not informed that we have to ask for housekeeping otherwise it is not done. After second night we asked for it and still no housekeeping for our entire stay of 3 nights. Was upset and disappointed.

Room was not being cleaned well. We booked a superior double room and got a small room instead. Location is great and staff is friendly

Det mest beskidte hotelværelse jeg nogensinde har boet på! Spindelvæv i alle hjørner og kroge, derudover var der skimmelsvamp i loftet, og vandskade ved badeværelset og rundt om aircondition. Alle fodpaneler er fyldt med et lag af støv og pletter, det tydeligt at se de ikke er blevet tørt af eller vasket længe. Alle overflader lå der også et godt lag støv på, alt i alt så var det bare møg beskidt, vi er virkelig blevet snydt af billederne som hotellet har her på siden for det lever da på ingen måde op til de pæne billeder. Vi er virkelig skuffet og ærgelig over at ik engang rengøring er en prioritet her, og ellers er værelset virkelig slidt og trænger til en renovering, vi havde 3 lamper der heller ikke virkede.. Jeg kan på ingen måde anbefale det her hotel.

The reception is deceiving because it looks modern and clean. The first room we got was so dirty. We checked the mattress for bed bugs and found both big stains (period blood and urin) but also lots of brown small spots. The staff saw the mattress and gave us an upgrade. When I asked if they have had any bed bugs, they stated “yes, but that was a long time ago”. With rooms that dirty, I don’t think they check for bugs very often. We also checked the mattress in the new room, and couldn’t find any signs of bed bugs, but my worst nightmare came through; I was eaten alive and have over 20 bites the day we checked out. Disgusting!

The bathroom had a lot of mildew and mold in the tile grout. Also, cleaning every 4 days is not acceptable

Overall the property was ok but they only clean the room and provide fresh towels every 3 days. I personally developed bed bug bites after the last nights stay.

Good location a block from the tram to from Central Station. Room was large, comfortable and the canal view was amazing. Staff is friendly. Only downside is that the Wi-Fi sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a hotspot so worked around connectivity issues.

The location of the hotel was great. Likewise the staff were really helpful and friendly. The room although clean was tiny & very dark so not somewhere you wanted to spend any time in.

Pluses Location, front desk staff and concierge, cleanliness, comfortable bed, decor Minuses Housekeeping staff was not thorough. Street noise woke me up several nights. Room didn’t have mini fridge.

I had to wear ear plugs to get to sleep. We had a 2nd floor canal view room. Heard the people talking on the street until 2am. Asked for a room change, they gave me 4th floor and still had to wear earplugs. The windows are single pane with no sound barriers or air gap stop. If the rooms were quieter this would be a fantastic place. Beds were good, service great, bathrooms a bit wonky and definitely not for the obese or long-legged.

Hotel Eden was in an excellent location. The room was spacious and we chose a canal view and it was beautiful! Enjoyed the coffee in the room and the free waters each day!

We paid for a canal view, that IS the way to go, so cool to look out of the window and see instead of just buildings. There is a square with a lot of restaurants one block away but look at the map since you go down a side street to get there. Our only negative was the shower/tub arrangement was very weird. There was a kind of glass swinging half-door partway covering the tub, and the shower head instead of pointing along the length of the tub, pointed across. Huh?!?!? This meant the floor inevitably got wet, and also that if you are a big person you just won't fit. Someone was smoking too much of the pot when they designed this. Room was fairly quiet and curtains darkened the room well. We would stay there again.

Nicely located hotel near public transportation. We had a pretty view of the canal. Room was small and awkwardly laid out with the tv in a corner unviewable from most of the room. Frosted glass door to bathroom directly in front of beds/room did not allow for much privacy. Shower/bath configuration allowed water to flood bathroom floor (typically European that my American brain struggles with, why oh why design them like that?). Not a fan of the self check in, very impersonal though cleaning staff was very gracious with providing towels and pillows. Would rate the hotel a 3 stars not 4.

Have been staying at Eden on every visit for over 20 years well before it got refurbished. Friendly staff, rooms very clean, breakfast package is well worth it. Only thing I woud highlight is that the bathrooms have almost no privacy. It's a glass wall with the center part of it frosted and the doors are non-locking swing type. Might as well leave it open

Staff didn’t seem very interested in helping us with anything … from info to directions. It was meh.

I stayed at the Eden Hotel in June 2024. The staff was friendly, helpful, and not obtrusive. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The lobby was calm, stylish, and welcoming. This hotel is good for thoughtful tourists. Thankfully, it did not seem to cater to large gangs of drunk young people. The location was perfect for accessing the major tourist destinations, including Dam square, Rembrandtplein square, Amsterdam Centraal train station, Jordaan, museum district, De Pijp. We mostly walked to these places, but occasionally used the tram stop at Rembrandtplein square, which is conveniently close to the hotel. The tram is a good option for travel between the Eden and Amsterdam Centraal. I stayed in a double room on the third floor with a fantastic view of the Singel. The room had complementary espresso coffee (very nice) and still water (glass bottle). The bed was comfortable. By American hotel standards, the room was not large, but it was fine for staying in Amsterdam, because we spent most of our time exploring the city. Before our stay, I was a little concerned about the noise level at night, but it was fine and I slept well. My only suggestion - not a complaint - is that it would have been nice to swing open the window. The window had a horizontal hinge at the top that allows one to crack open the bottom by only a few inches. Nevertheless, that opening provided a nice breeze and pleasant sounds of canal life below. I did not have breakfast.

Great location!!! Hotel staff weren’t super friendly and hallways did not smell very clean however room was nice.

I had money stolen out of my room that was in my suitcase. I did not realize it right away but when I reported it I was told they would investigate it and get back to me. Have not heard back. They can look at electronic lock information and see who was in and out of the room. I will call them again, but disappointed I have heard nothing.

Check in reception wasn’t very friendly & we had issues with the toilet. But location is very good & bed comfortable.

Everyone's very customer service oriented. Went above and beyond to make sure that we were taken care of and comfortable. Wonderful wonderful hotel, and I will gladly recommend it in the future.

The front and concierge were exceptionally helpful. Many questions were answered as a new guest to Amsterdam and excellent recommendations.

Taxi’s recommend by hotel tried to tell us the trains were down and we had to take a taxi to Rodderdam, which was not true

Perfect location... right on the canal across from the Opera House, just far enough away from the exact center to be a little quieter. You can get a room facing the canal. Prices are reasonable. Breakfast has a wide selection. The room we had was small and awkwardly shaped, but it's an old building. At night, it can get noisy if you leave the window open (lots of street traffic) but it calms down. The bathroom was tiny but had everything you need. When we arrived it was smelly but running the shower fixed it. Larger people may have difficulty managing the small shower. But the view out the window, ideal.

Good location for transport and walkable to shopping, trips and sights. Only thing dropping the rating was we were at the front of the building and it was noisy overnight. We were woken every night 2-3 times by noise from the streets. Otherwise great location and helpful staff.

Close to a canal, the ice bar, and shopping, the Eden Hotel was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with many selections. Definitely recommend. Would stay again.

Front staff couldn't get several of our parties credit cards to work. Trouble with computers? Rooms weren't too tasteful. But liked overall cleanliness of the hotel. Breakfast buffet was not appealing.

Nice quiet hotel. No restaurant but you can buy a great breakfast buffet pkg when checking in. Also purchased a discounted 1 hr canal cruise. Ask for the bay window room on floor one.

We generally had a great stay here, for 8 nights. Staff were friendly and location was great. A few tiny issues: wish I had known the restaurant on site didn’t serve dinner, only drinks. That said, Rembrandtplein was close and had lots of options. Also the bathroom had some mold behind the sink. The beds were comfy and linens were good. Generally, I’d stay again and would recommend to friends

The location was superb, we could walk literally everywhere. The staff was really nice, the hotel room had everything we could ask for. The beds were very soft, not everyone will like this, but for us it was great. The room doesn’t have a refrigerator, that would have been nice. The only thing we would rate not so well is that the breakfast is super expensive for relatively poor quality. The breakfasts costs €25 per person and that is way too much for what you get. The window was super close to the next building. If you wand a view, you have to book that explicitly. All in all, a great place to stay!

Nice modern hotel, good location, breakfast good if you like European continental breakfast, the hot food at breakfast not great, but nice pastries, fresh fruit salad and nice fruit juices/good coffee. The ony downside with our hotel room was it was too light at night. We paid extra for a superior double room but whilst it had excellent black out curtains, it also had double glass doors to the bathroom, the bathroom had 2 large windows, neither of which had blinds, just opaque windows. At night, light flooded in to the bedroom from the street lighting outside the bathroom windows and we woke up early at dawn because the bedroom was so light. Couldnt believe they hadn't thought about this! Need to put up black out blinds or change the glass doors to the bathroom! Apart from this issue, the room was very good size, nicely decorated, huge comfy king sized bed and big modern bathroom with great shower/under floor heating. Just need to take sleep mask with you if you prefer darkness to sleep!!!
