Nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Room turned out to lack outside window though, seems this is quite common here in Mexico unless you pay big money. Disappointed, main reason for not giving 5 stars. Hotel has a nice cafeteria and rooftop relaxing area. So general amenities are nice.

Unique and quiet property with handcrafted furniture and decor. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good too. We really appreciated that they provided filtered water that you could refill in a glass carafe, rather than providing plastic bottles. Artistic space that is eco-friendly.

Nice, newer property with contemporary style. The beds and linens were very nice and comfortable. The outdoor areas were very nice but the rooftop terrace was too hot to enjoy. Would have liked a slightly larger safe and a coffee maker in the room.

My own reservation was for 1 night, but I stayed 4 more nights through another family member\'s reservation. So this review is based on my experience of 5 nights in 2 different rooms. A charming, clean, comfortable hotel with delicious breakfast included. Decorated with local art - sculptures, weavings, etc. Location is not in the heart of the tourist area but felt safe and easily walkable to our destinations within 5-30 minutes. Specifics... Rooms: Small but well-appointed. Firm double bed. Good luggage storage. Outlets & light controls on both sides of the bed. Bathroom (toilet, sink, shower) has reliable water pressure & hot water. A bottle of filtered drinking water is provided, which you refill from their filtered jug in the lobby. Breakfast: Rooms open onto courtyard with local plants & art. Outside each room is your own breakfast table. Just go to your table from 7:30-10:30am & a server comes to offer coffee, fresh cut fruit, OJ & a selection of breads. Choose from 2 typical Oaxacan breakfast dishes available that day. Adjust if needed, eg meatless. Staff: Friendly, comfortable with English, accommodating to any needs, such as calling a taxi. (From the airport you take the "colectivo" van with other people for ~120 pesos, but it doesn\'t go back to the airport. My return taxi arrived on time & charged the fixed airport trip price of 280 pesos, paid in cash) Other: There\'s a nice adjacent coffee shop if you want a drink or snack later in the day if you\'re nearby.

La calidad y atención del servicio es excelente, el que te incluyan el desayuno lo hace algo excepcional y además es muy completo y balanceado. El lugar tiene terraza y un café afuera. Está en una buena ubicación, sobre una avenida principal, pero al mismo tiempo lo hace ruidoso. Definitivamente me hospedaría aquí de nuevo. La decoración y el concepto del hotel 10/10.

Excelente hotel. La decoración es muy agradable. Las hamacas en la terraza son lo mejor. Aunque esta a 15 min caminando de la catedral la zona es tranquila y con opciones para comer.

Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was lovely. Preferred to eat on the rooftop terrace overlooking a public park. The inner court was nicely decorated and comfortable. I missed the connecting flight from the States and missed the first night of a 2 day stay. The hotel responded to my emails quickly which was appreciated and let me check early in the morning. Would recommend. On the main drag but several blocks from the Zocolo. There are closer hotels to the action but this hotel was quiet snd lovely. A large Market is just up the street.

Desde el momento de nuestra llegada, y hasta nuestra salida, el trato del personal de recepción fue muy amable y atento a nuestras necesidades, aunque no pudimos ocupar la habitación, por la hora, nos ofrecieron dejar las maletas bajo resguardo para poder empezar nuestro paseo. El hotel es muy acogedor y decorado con muy buen gusto, las habitaciones son de un tamaño muy cómodo, limpias y, de igual manera, lindamente decoradas, te hacen sentir la "experiencia Oaxaca". Los desayunos ofrecidos son muy completos y realmente deliciosos, diariamente tienen 2 opciones y te los sirven, si gustas, en unas mesitas super chulas que se encuentran en la puerta de la habitación, también esta la opción de la terraza. Si es un día de excursión, te ofrecen un desayuno lunch para que te puedas llevar, lo puedes solicitar desde un día antes y te lo llevarán a tu habitación a la hora que indiques. Tienen una estación de café que funciona todo el tiempo y la cual nos resultó muy conveniente. En cuanto a la ubicación está en la zona del centro pero no dentro del bullicio del mismo, tendrás que caminar un poco para llegar al área del zócalo, pero resulta ser una caminata placentera, tiene todo lo que puedas necesitar cerca, incluso un soriana enfrente. Definitivamente será una opción a considerar en una futura visita y aprovecho para agradecer, especialmente a la chica de recepción por su trato tan atento y amable.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Ayook hotel, staff were friendly from the minute we arrived, the meals were traditional, simple, but excellent and delicious, the rooms were very clean, the beds comfortable, and overall the hotel is absolutely beautiful.

It is an excellent choice to stay, 10 minutes walking to city centre. The property is spotless clean, the rooms are very nice, the breakfast is very good and the personal was very very kind to us. I absolutely recommend this hotel.

Loved our stay here! Breakfast was tasty, the rooms are really beautiful and comfortable (the pillows are great)! The wifi is fast so if you need to work you easily can. The staff is very friendly. The ac was great too and very walkable.

Ayook's strengths are its kind, committed staff, excellent service and delicious breakfasts! We were happy to wake each morning to fresh-squeezed jugo de naranja, coffee, local fruit, and a plate of traditional Oaxacan food. If you're seeking privacy, you'll want to steer away from rooms 1 and 2, which are directly in front of reception and the central staircase. Note that the windows of all rooms open on the inner hallway in the style of Spanish colonial architecture, not on the outdoors. We enjoyed the artistic arrangement of Oaxacan textiles, pottery and figurines found throughout the hallways and sitting areas.

I want to publicly thank Mario and Nathalia (spelling?) for providing excellent Front Desk service. They were very kind, very helpful, and very patient with me. Nathalia even went next door to retrieve my laundry after the launderers had completely forgotten to wash and deliver my clothes! I thought the room was perfect - good size, good storage, good shower and towels, comfortable bed and pillows. The breakfasts were AMAZING, so delicious and provided generous portions. The coffee was excellent too. The upstairs outdoor seating is really nice as a place to eat breakfast or bring in a late dinner from a local restaurant It is a communal space and I met other guests there. I gave the Ayook Hotel 3 stars due to its location....a bit far from Centro...about 15 minutes? It is definitely walkable, but still a little far.

Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was lovely. Preferred to eat on the rooftop terrace overlooking a public park. The inner court was nicely decorated and comfortable. I missed the connecting flight from the States and missed the first night of a 2 day stay. The hotel responded to my emails quickly which was appreciated and let me check early in the morning. Would recommend. On the main drag but several blocks from the Zocolo. There are closer hotels to the action but this hotel was quiet snd lovely. A large Market is just up the street.

We were happy to wake each morning to fresh-squeezed jugo de naranja, coffee, local fruit, and a plate of traditional Oaxacan food. If you're seeking privacy, you'll want to steer away from rooms 1 and 2, which are directly in front of reception and the central staircase. Note that the windows of all rooms open on the inner hallway in the style of Spanish colonial architecture, not on the outdoors. We enjoyed the artistic arrangement of Oaxacan textiles, pottery and figurines found throughout the hallways and sitting areas.

We loved this hotel! While it's a bit of a walk from some of the main attractions, the location is still very convenient. Despite being on a busy street, our room was remarkably quiet, which made for a great night's sleep. The only issue we encountered was with the shower; we had to remove the shower head to get water flowing correctly. Other than that, the room was comfortable. We even get a personalized card and courtesy chocolates. The breakfast was the absolute highlight of our stay. It featured high-quality traditional dishes, different every day, and was the perfect way to start a busy day of sightseeing. We would happily stay here again and would highly revommended for those who, like us, prefer boutique hotels.
