Emerald Best Motel

It vexes me to leave negative reviews. In fact, I thought about it and waited almost a week before I came to the conclusion that I needed to provide honest feedback. I came for a one-night stay, and usually choose budget-friendly motels without much problem. I was offered (and chose) a second-floor room. As soon as I entered, my eyes, nose, and throat immediately began to sting due to some kind of very strong cleaning agent (I assume) causing fumes. I thought about asking for a different room but thought I might just run into the same issue if it was indeed a cleaning agent. I immediately opened the door and windows and turned on the fan. The smell emitting from the fan was pretty horrid in itself. I elected to go ahead and spend the night, but felt like I couldn't leave windows or the door open for long, as there were people smoking right outside of their rooms (ashtrays were sitting on top of the A/C units outside of the rooms). The queen bed wasn't actually too uncomfortable for a cot-type style, but there were only two very thin pillows available. When I came home, I had to wash my clothes as the strong smell had permeated everything. Upon checkout, I was not asked how my stay was, nor did I offer up to share my experience at the time. I would definitely not recommend this hotel, even though I think they are trying to make improvements (they were working on painting the outside when I arrived ). Thank you for hearing me out.

The property could benefit from some renovations. The furnishings seemed somewhat inexpensive. The television was small and lacked functional cable service. The bed lacked a headboard and felt rather lightweight. While I appreciated the independent business model, the overall impression was somewhat underwhelming.

The front desk person was kind and polite. The key we were given for our room was an old fashioned metal key on a fob with room number on it. Any previous guests could have made a copy. For that reason alone we did not feel safe. The parking lot was clean. It’s an old fashioned motel type building. The room was dark and there was grime on doors and light-switches. We used our Clorox wipes and cleaned. There were burn marks around toilet, bathtub and sink. The floors and baseboards did not look clean. The beds and bedding appeared clean and neatly made. There were no clothes hangers, no ironing board and no iron. The neighborhood did not feel very safe.

Although the property did not look like much from the outside, the inside of the room was actually very clean. All of the staff I interacted with were helpful and friendly.

The landscape needs some love, and the building needs painted. I know it is under remodel so is probably on the list. The room needs a mirror no mirror at all. The bathtub knob to pull up for the shower needs repaired. Walls paper this heard the next-door neighbors talking on their phones all night.

Room was updated, and very nice and clean. Staff was very polite. The only thing I was a bit set back on was that their dumpster was overflowing and there was trash that was was in and out of bags off to the side of it along with an appliance and beds. That area really needs cleaned up.

Older property, updated rooms mostly. Linens on bed could be nicer. Glad I had a blanket in the car. Well lit property.

Very nice updated motel. Not as clean with the renovation as it should be. I wiped down the tops of the baseboards in the bathroom with a damp towel and it was pretty dirty. Took me like 45 secs! Nice place to stay though.

Room smelled funky. The room featured a kitchenette, but were lacking in kitchenware to use with it. The lock on my door seemed damaged, as if someone tried to break into it in the past.

Bed was so soft you rolled to middle felt like you were suffocating bed frame legs bent felt like bed was going to collapse, pillows were like rocks. Sheets had stains on them.

Good location not too far from Seattle. Everything clean and tidy. Bed a little creaky. Heater fan too noisy though.

Was told upon checking in that none of their refurbished rooms were avaliable. Didn't think much of it until I got in the room and could smell smoke and the curtains didn't block any light with holes in them. Also the bed was terrible! I've slept on the ground camping and woke up feeling better. I mean I know you get what you pay for but wow.

Although the staff was helpful, the internet went out a lot. There was no chair and table to do laptop work but it was basically clean and served my purpose well

Safe, clean, and perfect for my simple needs. Special thanks the the Night Manager (Brennan?) who went beyond and above to ensure that my very late check-in was easy and without complications.

We didn't need anything fancy because we were just in town for a concert, but this little motel exceeded expectations, especially for the price. On top of that, Trevor at the front desk was incredibly accommodating and helpful. He really made our night and helped us out in a bind. Will definitely stay here again.

Room cramped at base of bed and between desk, odd layout. Did not return security deposit, will not provide receipt, and will not allow me to discuss with a manager.

They didn’t let passenger check in

We got told that we usually do not allow children at our motel because of people smoking. Your rooms claim that they are smoke free. Expedia also states that your motel is family friendly and children are allowed. While checking in we got asked if our baby was a loud baby because they have a zero noise policy so practically stating that if our baby cries, we will be kicked out. While staying here, we got nasty coughs and once we left the motel, our coughs went away. The guests who was in the floor above us was smoking some kind of drug because all we heard was foot prints going in a circle. The air quality in these rooms are not good. The smell was horrible in the room when we walked in. We will never stay at this motel again. This motel was just overall sketchy and i felt very unsafe at night.

There isnt anything I did not like. It is a very well run, clean and safe environment. I appreciate that very much! I would highly reccommend this property.
