This hotel was gorgeous. It was an old convent so the character of the building is very charming. They have a rooftop bar that is gorgeous and the drinks and food are all top notch. Though they don’t pour heavy so we ordered tequila shots with our cocktails the second night just to add in a bit more liquor. The staff was amazing; very kind and accommodating. There isn’t a pool/spa and their gym area is VERY small, but they made the most of what the existing building had to offer. Our room had an attached sitting area with a Juliet window/balcony that was beautiful. Although the bathroom was a bit small, the shower was updated and spacious. The location is pretty central to areas you’d like to see without being too in the middle of it all to rest. I would absolutely stay there again.

Everything was wonderful. Beautiful room, excellent service, centrally located to major attractions. We walked from the hotel to the Basilica and all the other major attractions around there. Our welcome drink awaited us upstairs in the terrace restaurant. Food was excellent. Will def return back for a longer stay!

This lovely hotel is comfortable with friendly, helpful staff. Originally a family home built in the late 1400s, early 1500s, then a hospital, then a storage building, it became a hotel in 2019. It has charming nooks for reading or quiet conversation. It's close to the Square, easily walkable. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

A beautiful hotel! Spacious, comfortable and gorgeous inside. Restaurant on rooftop was outstanding! Breakfast each morning was delicious. Stayed 4 nights, only thing that could be better is the gym, cardio but no weights. Would definitely book another stay if we return.

Excellent historical feel and appearance. The staff was very friendly, kind and accommodating. VIP welcome and complimentary drinks were perfect. Restaurant was awesome and food was delicious. If I come back to Mexico City I will definitely book my stay here.

Great team at a lovely hotel very near the Zocalo. Due to the age and setup of the hotel the noise travels easily. The team are very prompt at closing the restaurant at 10:30 so noise doesn’t disturb guests.

We had a great stay. Service was excellent, and having a good restaurant at the location was a nice convenience. The location/area is pretty busy/active which might not be everyone's taste, but it's close to all the historic destinations. I'd strongly recommend.

What a beautiful historical boutique hotel. The rooms are charming and the common areas evoke an old world quality. The rooftop bar and restaurant is truly the best in Mexico City offering delicious craft cocktails and out of this world Mexican dishes. Not to mention the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and gracious. Antonio, our server was amazing. This is a must visit!

We had a wonderful stay. Hotel was clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and the staff went above and beyond to be attentive and helpful. Heidi was very good with recommendations and directions. The restaurant manager and staff were also awesome. Housekeeping was awesome as well -- as well attentive and accommodating our special needs. Would definitely stay here again.

Imponente y bello edificio pero, para empezar, podrían hacer gestiones ante la autoridad por el excesivo ruido que provoca el local denominado Rosaleda Club, el nivel de decibelios supera con mucho lo permitido, tan es así que, con las dos puertas del balcón cerradas, se escucha el sonido como si se tuviera internamente Lo segundo que recomendaría es en cuanto a la diligencia del personal que se ocupa de arreglar y limpiar las habitaciones, hubo una lata de refresco en el marco superior de la puerta del balcón los tres días que estuvimos hospedados en el hotel, los vasos sucios no los cambiaron, una bata de baño que se quedó, al salir por la mañana, en el sillón, la encontramos en el mismo sitio por la tarde. Tal vez no sea grave, pero da un aspecto desordenado. Lo tercero sería poner mayor atención en algunos complementos que su servicio de restaurant ofrece, como el pan, que debe ser del día porque el que nos sirvieron nos pareció viejo y/o de mala calidad. También las salsas, o carencia de ellas, es un aspecto primordial en un menú mexicano. Ese descuido demerita lo interesante de su menú. Por cierto, el pato de relleno en las enmoladas estaba duro y sin sabor, contrastando con un mole de muy buena calidad. Les deseo que logren atender positivame lo comentado, el extraordinario recinto y la amable atención de su personal lo merecen y podrán convertirse en una gran opción en el centro histórico de la Cdmx.

I really wanted to rate this property highly as the setting in this old refurbished building right in the heart of the historico centre is unique and stunning. The staff are friendly and obliging. The restaurant upstairs is first class but our comfort was seriously compromised due to bed bugs and noise. The hotel really should make guests aware that the building has no sound proofing whatsoever, so the wedding party on Saturday night was constant banging on the ceiling of our room in the presidential suite, as the dance floor was directly above. The manager offered us a complimentary dinner so they clearly acknowledge it’s distressing for guests and severely impacts comfort and sleep. However far more serious were the bed bugs that started biting night 1. You think you’re imagining things but by our final night 3 it was clear there was an issue with both of us scratching in bed! We reported the issue to management and the response perhaps unsurprisingly was “we contacted the professional fumigation and pest control company we work with for an independent evaluation. Both inspections confirmed there were no signs of bed bugs or other pests in the suite.” The fact they have a pest company on speed dial implies there is an issue which they are aware of. Regretfully I have to say avoid at all costs - if you value your sleep and health and safety :-((

Os quartos sao bons. Mas no primeiro dia, no cafe da manha, uma barata enorme voou, nao se sabe de onde, e pousou na mao da minha mãe. Eram 5 noites, e ficamos uma só. Fomos para outro hotel. Prefetivel perder as noites pagas do que ter a companhia de baratas no cafe da manha. Inadmissível!

This was our 1st trip to Mexico City, and we wanted to stay close to the historic center in a unique property. You can walk to the Zocalo and tons of shopping in just a few minutes. The hotel is even prettier in person! We loved every minute. Our room (108) was large and comfortable with very high ceilings, a modern bathroom, beautiful stone walls, and a balcony. Breakfast (ours was included) was varied, tasty, and large portions. Francisco, our morning waiter, quickly became like a friend, giving us ideas about places to see each day. We ate in the Tezontle restaurant upstairs 3 times for dinner. It's excellent! Juan, our waiter, was awesome, giving us lots of suggestions since neither of us eats spicy food. Everyone was very friendly - front desk staff, cleaning staff, doormen, and maintenance since we had a minor issue with our sink. We would definitely return!

The room was huge and comfortable. On a noisy street but windows and doors were great at sealing noise out. Breakfast was so delicious. Gorgeous old building very well renovated and kept. Very pleased!!!

Stunning building and architecture. Truly a dream to gaze upon every day and soak in. Service was great and can't beat the location. There are two excellent restaurants inside the hotel, so you dont have to leave (one for breakfast, the other for lunch and dinner). Spacious, well designed shower that has L'Occitane toiletries. I am super impressed with the sound isolation of the doors to the balcony!

This small boutique hotel was charming with wonderful staff. It is a small historic building with lots of character. The rooms are strictly modern. The original elements were a challenge- the doors are original so the sound from the common area travels.

Beautiful hotel with excellent service! The historic building is amazing and has been very sympathetically converted. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Only slight issue that other reviews mentioned is noise - the bathroom is open to the room which doesn’t offer much privacy and as an older building with original features, doors and windows let in a little noise from the common areas. Would still recommend, however!

The staff is outstanding, accommodating and very friendly. Breakfast was very good and service exceptional. The location for visiting and walking to various museums is excellent. The hotel is in a boutique historic building which comes with a few quirks. In room 111 I could hear the elevator and at times could be quite loud, and i couldn’t quite get the shower head to work properly, there was no bottled water the last day I was there so I walked to 7-11, 3 minutes away for it. The hotel in a congested area of town during the day, so I planned extra time around that for tours. In one case i was dropped off 1 mile away as the van couldn’t get to the hotel due to road blockage. If you go here, check for upcoming demonstrations as it affects the already congested area. As one reviewer mentioned, loud music is played by vendors outside of the hotel entrance on the weekends, but fortunately the rooms are soundproof as they are in an inner courtyard and noise isn’t heard.

This is a lovely hotel in a historic building. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the on-site restaurant was excellent. Downside, our room was interior without a window, the a/c was quite noisy. The location in city center is convenient to historic sites and metro but not a very pretty area for strolling around.

I cannot say enough about Casa De La Luz. The hotel itself is amazing, it’s classic and modern. You’re right in the middle of everything but as soon as you step inside, it’s peaceful. The staff treated us like family. The helped coordinate dinners and rides to make our visit amazing. To add, my son got very sick and needed medical attention. They helped me with a doctor that did house calls and spoke English. My son felt better the next day and we saw a doctor at a fair price. I’ve already told my 6 year old son he has to have his wedding there to pay back their hospitality. This place is 5 stars!! Don’t skip the rooftop restaurant either, one of the highlights of our stay.

The property is in a wonderful old building. It is close to all historic sites. The problem is the concierge. On arrival we asked the concierge to book us bus tickets to Taxco in 2 days. The concierge said we did not need to reserve tickets and to just show up at station. I told him I preferred if he would pre book the tickets for us he said no I will not. The following day I asked the same concierge to book us tickets again. He flat out said no. At that time a female employee joined him and told him to book us the tickets. When he attempted to book the tickets at the nearest bus station they were all sold out. From there the female employee took charge and booked us the tickets at another station. If it was not for her intervention we would not have been helped. This is not a luxury hotel based on service alone. We do not recommend.

This was my second stay here and this time for 8 days. Everything was exceptional. You won’t get this kind of service at bigger hotel. The staff was amazing giving you water whenever you needed it, helping you with your daily plans in the city. They want to make sure you feel welcomed and guide you to make your vacation smoothly. Thru stopped me from going to Frida Khalo’s house because I didn’t have tickets. Good thing because it takes 30 minutes to get there. The breakfast was delicious and part of the package. I was aware of the sound by the club but I noticed they added an extra door to help keep the noise out from my previous visit. I had no problem sleeping as I faced the park view. You can’t beat the service and the room was beautiful. The only issue I had was cold water but I ran to my sister n law room to take a shower the last two nights… it only seemed affected in my room for some reason. Other than that my stay was excellent and would stay here again hands down..

From the front desk to the cleaning crew everybody is super helpful. We came down to catch our Uber and we discovered it was raining and immediately we were offered an umbrella to take with us to our dinner no asking just immediately offered. They packed a lunch for us to take on our all day tour to Teotihucan. Then there is the restaurant Tezontle, you will not want to go anywhere else. The mixologist is an artist and service and food is 5 stars. We will return.

This lovely hotel is comfortable with friendly, helpful staff. Originally a family home built in the late 1400s, early 1500s, then a hospital, then a storage building, it became a hotel in 2019. It has charming nooks for reading or quiet conversation. It's close to the Square, easily walkable. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

Sadly, an amazing property in a great locar let down by false advertising. The room 101 on the mezzanine above the lobby facing the square on the street front was fine. We stayed mon tue wed n9 problem, our final night Thu - the incessant deep drum and base from the nightclub next door started at 10.30pm and continued without pause until 07.30am. Then the chuchbells started at 07.45am. Impossible to sleep. When challenged, the reception staff stated - yes, this music is always a big problem for us. More a problem for your paying guests I feel. The staff were helpful when i was mugged a block and a half away and assisted in calling the police so credit to them there. Amazing old buildings, but no noise insulation.

We had a great stay. Service was excellent, and having a good restaurant at the location was a nice convenience. The location/area is pretty busy/active which might not be everyone's taste, but it's close to all the historic destinations. I'd strongly recommend.

The hotel was beautiful. Very clean rooms and everyone was so nice. Close enough to walk to many of the museums or get to the metro. It is a really busy portion of the city though so expect to be around a lot of people once you step outside.

We loved our 5-night stay in this gorgeous old building. Our room was spacious with a comfy bed, a lovely shower, and nice details. The lighting is special. The staff is very attentive and kind. The only downside was the somewhat unkempt square below our balcony with the loud nightclub on Saturday night. The precise location of the hotel is a little unfortunate, but not enough to prevent us from coming back.

The most beautiful hotel and wonderful staff! They were all so gracious and accommodating! I was nervous as this was our first trip to Mexico city and our Spanish is not the best :) But the staff spoke excellent english. The breakfast and restaurant in general were out of this world. The building was originally constructed in 1537 which blew my mind. The room was modern and high end. The only 4/5 stars item was not about the hotel, but the street it was on. It is on a very busy turn around street that is only one lane, but has 2 ways of traffic, so picking up a uber up front was difficult and required some spanish to help the driver figure out where to go. And it is a metro right there, so there were a lot of people loitering and a lot of police, but it did not feel unsafe, it is just something to be aware of. We would 1000% stay there again! We would just walk to the end of the block to order an uber :)

Loved our stay here! The service in both the restaurant and hotel are super helpful when it comes to making your stay enjoyable, as well as offering suggestions for things to do around the city. We were given two complimentary cocktails along with our stay at the Tezontle restaurant and they were AMAZING. Complimentary breakfast is also some of the best breakfast food we’ve had in Mexico City. Would love to stay here again during our next trip to CDMX.

The rooftop bar and restaurant is truly the best in Mexico City offering delicious craft cocktails and out of this world Mexican dishes. Not to mention the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and gracious. Antonio, our server was amazing. This is a must visit!

The location is convenient. One night the only restaurant was closed because of a private event. One morning there was no water in the room. This hotel is a hidden gem in the Historic Downtown of MDCX. The property has been there since 1500's and was once a hospital. The architecture was absolutely gorgeous and like stepping back in time. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable and clean. The whole hotel was extremely well looked after. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast included every morning was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel to those who are wanting to stay somewhere different. I would stay here again.

Our stay was amazing. We visited for a long weekend from Florida. Wanting the cooler weather Mexico City offered due to its elevation. We arrived well before check in. Our room was ready without asking. Our goal was to relax and refresh. The hotel did not disappoint. The roof top restaurant was amazing and the staff was perfect. We left the hotel to visit one museum. The rest of our stay was relaxing in the multiple lounges and eating at the hotel. Breakfast was simple but also very good. Not a USA continent buffet, but a small menu that was included with the room fee. There was also a larger menu that had items you could request with payment. There is a small park across the street. However, it is a marijuana acceptance zone. People go to this location to smoke marijuana. It is not a park the visit and hang out (unless that is your thing). Our rooms terrace faves the park. We did not have any issues with odor from the use of marijuana at the park. The arch of the hotel is old world with a remodel that kept true to the buildings heritage. It is definitely worth a return visit.
Our stay was amazing. We visited for a long weekend from Florida. Wanting the cooler weather Mexico City offered due to its elevation. We arrived well before check in. Our room was ready without asking. Our goal was to relax and refresh. The hotel did not disappoint. The roof top restaurant was amazing and the staff was perfect. We left the hotel to visit one museum. The rest of our stay was relaxing in the multiple lounges and eating at the hotel. Breakfast was simple but also very good. Not a USA continent buffet, but a small menu that was included with the room fee. There was also a larger menu that had items you could request with payment. There is a small park across the street. However, it is a marijuana acceptance zone. People go to this location to smoke marijuana. It is not a park the visit and hang out (unless that is your thing). Our rooms terrace faves the park. We did not have any issues with odor from the use of marijuana at the park. The arch of the hotel is old world with a remodel that kept true to the buildings heritage. It is definitely worth a return visit.
