This was our second time at Hotel Forza Kawaramachi. We are happy we came back! It's well taken care of, luxury-feel, great staff, and a lovely stay. The room layout (double room) is small but the space is designed to accommodate. Love the hair products and soap offered, its good quality and smells great. The breakfast buffet has a variety of western and Japanese options. Free sake, coffee machine, and laundry facilities are great additions. The lobby space is a clean, calm space to sit in and relax. Overall, a great hotel! Would return next time and recommend to everyone coming to Kyoto.

Great location - right on the main shopping street but surprisingly quiet inside. Handy link to the subway which made getting to/from the station easy. Walkable to lots of great places to eat and shop - right on the doorstep. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Complimentary sake each evening and coffee machine in the lobby. I’d highly recommend this hotel for stays in Kyoto.

This was a great hotel for the price that we paid. The room was a decent size. Amenities were great. We were able to borrow umbrellas for the day as it was crazy hot. The hotel had a sake hour and every night we were able to get a token each and have a cup of sake. Didn’t use those most nights though. Super central to the nishiki markets and other food places. Very safe both morning and night. The main station that we had to use for activities was about a 10min walk

Really nice hotel to stay at. Location was great and central to many things around the city. Subway can be accessed right from the hotel itself (and right next to the Mario wall in the subway). Staff was amazing and very friendly. Room fit our needs perfectly. Great job and thanks for an amazing stay

Great location. Great room. Breakfast was good. Staff friendly and very helpful. No negatives that come to mind. I used luggage forwarding to/ from this hotel - very handy and worth the cost. Laundry washer/dryer machine was very handy. There are two on floor 2, and two on floor 3. Never done laundry myself in hotel before, but instructions were ok, and happy with results. A web page tells you how long left for wash cycle so washing can be left while it is running . No need for washing powder as it has its own.

Rooms were very nice and very clean. Quiet hotel. Right in the heart of the shopping district so very convenient. Also a few min walk to the nearest train station. Beds were small. Very good location. The rooms were not the cleanest as the headboard area was a bit dusty and there were stains on the couch. Bathroom, blankets, towels, etc were clean. Staff were great. Wifi is really poor at night. Overall, it was a good stay.

Check in & out was so quick & easy, especially checking out - you just put your key card into a machine & you’re done. The hotel is in a great area as indicated by the ‘What did you like?’ section above. The rooms were always cleaned & restocked with bottled water, towels, etc.

We had a great stay at Hotel Forza. The rooms were clean and the bathroom was spacious. I loved the shower and bathtub combo. We enjoyed the drink machine with coffee and matcha options. I appreciated the evening free sake was a nice touch. You just asked the front desk for a coin. The front desk was very helpful. They helped with getting a taxi, making dinner reservations and much more. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would come back.

Very convenient location, but in retrospect should have asked for a room not facing the street. Traffic, especially motorcycles zooming up and down street, usually after 8 pm was very noisy and made it hard to get to sleep. Otherwise hotel was wonderful, larger room, housekeeping great, very pleasant staff and location close to Nishiki market-best for souvenir shopping.

We had 4 rooms total and all were a different layout. Mine was the only one with a view (nice view of the main street) but the other 3 rooms had windows that were frosted because they were facing other buildings. My layout was perfect, very wide open, others were a little less open though all were the same size with the same amenities. I loved the shower room--the entire room was basically a shower with a chair to sit on under the showerhead and it also had a tub if you wanted to soak. This made it very ADA friendly for my parents who have mobility issues. Bed was easily the most comfortable of all the hotels I stayed at in Japan. The hallways are very dark and so it's an interesting atmosphere that I liked but some might not like. Location was great, right on the main road in central Kyoto with tons of places to go. Nishiki Market is only a 2 minute walk away. I only interacted with the staff for check-in/out but they were very polite and hospitable. I think I did have a check in with the automated check in system--if I remember right it couldn't find my reservation by last name but found it by first, which was odd but ended up not being a big deal. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at Hotel Forza Shijo Kawaramachi, for 4 nights. The staff is amazing very understanding, they arrange for your needs and requests almost immediately. I requested extra bedding and it was provided immediately. The staff, especially Mr Sato was excellent at communicating with my previous hotel to arrange delivery/pickup of our wedding rings which we forgot at our previous hotel. During my stay i needed an iron, a flat hair iron, which the hotel was able to provide. They have a microwave in the lobby to use, it would be better if we had one in the room to warm up baby bottles, but we used the one in the lobby just fine. They received our luggage from Yamato service before we checked in. The room service is available. Bathroom is clean and separate for each shower, toilet and wash/sink. The rain shower is amazing and super hot!! Love it. I wish we had booked two rooms for our family as the rooms are a little smaller, but we mostly spent our day outside so we were fine with it, The location is very good, station is close by, all stores, Tokyo hands, 7/11 and amazing restaurants all are nearby. We were able to walk to ninenzaka and sanenzaka street in 20 mins. Lots to do nearby. Hotel also provided free coffee and hot chocolate every day! All staff was amazing at communicating and all services.

I sent the messages to the hotel and ask for the high floor and nice view when I made reservation in April. Also I asked the hotel which room type can have high floor and nice view. However no reply from the hotel. When I checked in on Jul 13, I found that my room was without any view. If the hotel couldn’t meet my requirements, should let the guest know in advance so we can do other arrangements. The hotel then provided me options; move to lower floor with view or downgrade to another category on the 2nd day. I feel disappointed with this hotel in Kyoto.

We loved - The location - right by Nishiki market, shops, restaurants, buses, taxi stand. Location can't be beat for this area - Room size was great - Shower was amazing -Newer amenities, everything felt very new - The matcha machine in the lobby!! While it's really hard to list cons because everything was great we weren't so crazy about: - The odd layout of the toilet being separate from the shower (we had a corner room so not sure i this is a corner room thing) -Lack of AC in the lobby/walkin area (we were here during summer and it was still really hot in the hotel walkway)

Really centrally located to attractions like Nishiki Market, the Yasaka Temple, etc. Easy access to subway (by which you can get to Arashiyama and Fushimi Inari Taisha). Hotel is located in a bustling shopping district - if you want to get away from the crowds, this isn’t the place for you. For us, it was perfect.

Forza experience was incredible! My husband and I only stayed for 2 nights but would have loved to stay longer. The hotel is beautiful, staff very friendly, & INCREDIBLE breakfast!! We would stay here again solely for the breakfast accommodation. However, the hotel room was spacious as well as the bed & pillows were comfortable. It was walking distance to everything including the bus station (10 min). We highly recommend!

Good breakfast with both European and Asian choices. Location is fantastic for a visit to Kyoto and everything nearby. We used it as our hub for a week and it was great. Good to have fridge, shower, bath and clean room. Coffee machine, and hot chocolate machine in the lobby and free sake service in the evening. Only thing, but this is a preference thing, was that the beds are pretty hard. We had also booked for 2 adults and 2 kids and only got 3 beds so our 11 yr old had to sleep in the big bed. Worked out ok but was not specified.

We loved the location of this hotel in relation to things to do and transportation in central Kyoto. The only things we didn’t love were the breakfast, which was a little pricey for what we were served, and the fact that laundry was not a free service. We had a couple of other stays with free laundry services, which will be something we look for in future stays.
