Princess Family Club Bavaro - All Inclusive

Great resort but be prepared to walk.The resort is huge.

We stayed in the Princess Family Club portion of the property, but had access to most of the Princess resort, outside of the Platinum areas. I though the property was nice. They work on cleaning all of the time, pressure washing pool decks it seems every morning, pool cleaning, etc. There seemed to be an abundance of staffing at the resort for restaurants, room cleaning, bars. Things I loved: 3 separate twin beds in kids rooms was fantastic. Kids areas, kids staffing & kids buffet. Shuttle carts around the property all day long. Cleaning everywhere, mopping of room daily. Proper staffing around resort at all times. Security on the beach. Thinks that were just OK: Property upkeep, things you can't clean, there are just some things that when you select something stating 5 star you don't expect to see, like just structure upkeep, like the AC running properly in room, doors & drawers closing properly in rooms. Things I didn't love: Strangest thing & easy fix - door handles & toilets that work properly. There were just so many cheap door handles that were broken everywhere and toilets that were barely flushing properly. No deadbolt on the hotel room door. And the quality of meats served, there was so much waste due to any meat you ordered or took from buffet was such a poor quality, you were a little fearful of what you were eating. Beef was the worst, no matter where you ordered it was fatty/chewy. Which led to large amounts of food waste.

pro: 3 buffets. 1 buffet is on the beach with 4 food trucks so very convenient to go back and forth to get food all day. Some Buffet food is good and some food is below average. Hibachi is below average. Fish restaurants is average. Train shuttle run every 5 mins. Room shower need better water pressure. Beach is perfect like a post card Con: no carryout to take back to your room from any restaurant. Room service is extra.

amenities were the same each day. No space in restaurants. same buffet. lack of courtesy from staff. not enough chairs in central for amenities. the water park broke down - a water bucket get loose and fall from the higher part of the scaffolding. Scary moment for all parents and kids.

Pros: Family Club rooms were comfortable and clean. Pools were great for all ages. Beautiful beach and grounds. Shuttle train made getting around the resort easy. Cons: Food was just okay. Buffets were chaos and al a carte was nothing special. Staff friendliness and service were hit or miss.

The room was great for our family of four with extra beds for the kids. Staying at the family resort came with extra perks of beach toys and towel bag for the stay. They provide room slippers which came in handy because we ended up finding broken glass in our room after the first day of housekeeping, which was a disappointment when they sent a handy man to check for broken glass in the showers. Also, after I hand checked myself and found a total of 3 pieces. The amenities for the kids were great with water park and a kids club. If your looking for many food options i find this very limited compared to other resorts and the free wifi was very weak even in the rooms. A la carte Restaurants included in our all inclusive required booking thru their site but with poor wifi it made it impossible to book.

Amenities were top notch. Positives: Not a long ride from the airport. Property trolley, numerous food options, day and night events, shopping on site, staff all excellent. Able to book excursions on site. I will return and recommend. Next time I will not pack as much. Negatives: not muxh. I'd add a full length mirror on the wall next to the bathroom and a cpl of adult only hot tubs.

The Good: I must begin with the staff. We were treated with great attention. The staff at the Hispaniola, El Gaucho, almost all the bars, even some of the people trying to sell me stuff made the stay better just by being nice. This Beach is a place that heals the soul. The sand massages your feet and exfoliates your skin. The ocean breeze hugs you. The water embraces you. Your eyes are overwhelmed by white and blue. Amazing. Food and drinks are always close by and we all found something we liked. The Family Club. The rooms at the Family club have the best placement in the hotel IMHO. The kids loved the water park. The Bad: The pizza. While some of the toppings were surprisingly delicious, everything else about the pizza was bad. It reminded me of children’s pizza at Romano’s. The pizza restaurant was very well decorated and we were treated very nicely. But the pizza. The wines included were bad, but at least they had a wine menu you could purchase much better wine. No room service in the family club. We would have loved to eat breakfast in the room. Gladly would pay extra for that. The ugly: The family club has amazing looking pools. Sadly, they were polishing the wooden pergolas around the pool. Every morning pool staff would leave the pool pristine but by the afternoon a thin layer of sawdust made them look nasty. Overall: Amazing hotel for the price. We didn’t want to leave and are already planning to go back. Would recommend.

This is the 2nd time my family and I have been to this resort. We absolutely love the environment and the beauty of the property. There are so many different reataurants to choose from. JUST MAKE SURE TO BOOK A RESERVATION EARLY (or else you wont be able to book anything). Don't worry, the buffet also has a lot to offer. This resort is Eco friendly and have birds roaming (peacocks, ducks, geese and others), turtles, fish and guinea pigs. The property is so large that there is always something to do or go to (walking or using the 24 hr trolley).

I guess the best thing in this hotel is staff. The majority of folks were friendly, welcoming and really were trying to make your stay pleasant. There were a few exceptions but in general staff was great. The area of the hotel is big, there are places to walk but there's a fundamental issue with the design or usage of the hotel's internal roads. You can't simply walk around - you always deal with the traffic. It's like an internal highway: tourist trains, trucks, buses, golf cars, motorcycles, bicycles, you name it - everything is there driving/riding nonstop. And, obviously, those vehicles leave a lot of exhaustions around so you can't enjoy a fresh air. The beach itself is awesome. The only wish - would be nice to have more covered spots, otherwise existing ones are being taken quickly. The ocean had a lot of waves during our stay in December so we spent the majority of the time in the pools. But some of the pools were kind of dirty and unsafe for kids. We only saw staff cleaned the surface from leaves and bugs but we've never seen actual cleaning of walls and floor like in other hotels. Our kid got sick since she gulped that water in the pool. The food is ok but there were crowds close to Christmas time so kitchen was lagging behind a bit. Also our families got food poison a few times there. The rooms were fine. We especially enjoyed the bunked beds. There were a lot of mosquitoes but it was raining most of the time and the area is swampy - kind of expected.

We went 4 yrs ago and decided to go bc we enjoyed it back then. We upgraded to the swim out which is a must with kids. The kids club we only use once the kids were bored ages 5-9. They have 2 other pools a relaxing one and the main one with a bar. The water was dirty in that pool. The trolley driving you around is an excellent idea we used it several times. Moving on the workers seemed like they did not want to be there. We didn't hear any of the workers say good morning. If you asked for something it's seems like you are bothering them. Bar in the lobby gets packed. The food at the buffet was mediocre they serve the same thing for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have several other restaurants which needed reservations that was a hassle. We went to guest services and a lady did them for us. We were a group of 9. We tried the habachi, Italian and steakhouse. They also have a pub which opens 24/7. Food is available. Options were limited. Family side also has a buffet for lunch. They have food trucks by the beach and the food pretty much the same items you can find in the buffet. There is also a ice cream truck it was a hit with the kids. The evening shows were pretty boring. They have shows in the theater and music in the lobby. To summarize we loved the swim out pool. The kids loved the trolley and ice cream truck. They also enjoyed the arcade games in the 2nd floor of the bar. We won't be going back we went twice and definitely the resort has downgraded. WiFi SUCKS.

I don’t feel the place is clean , the food wasn’t good and I didn’t see much of variety in the restaurant , pools where not clean at all either the kids one

The resort was pretty and the peacocks added more beauty. The staff was not as nice especially in the buffet areas. Not friendly. The best staff & service was at the restaurant focaccia. Best service I had was there and Lasagna was great. The beach area was nice & accessible. The main pool was dirty and not well maintained. Definitely needs some work.

Food was alright, lots of Sandbug, we got 50 bites on our legs. Beach is gorgeous. Room is a bit dirty, everytime after the come clean the bathroom it smells even worse than before, quite sure that they use the same mob head for everything without even putting any sanitizing solution in that bucket of water. Mini fridge is completely just for storage, not cold at all. Never expect anyone will pick up the phone when you try calling for services. It was alright.

The staff were very friendly and it was a beautiful location but the room had multiple cockroaches, the food tasted terrible. It was very hard to book a reservation at the restaurants. The wii fi barely worked and I got very sick with diarrhea and vomiting every 30 min going on day 5 now.

Room was clean- bathroom was on the small size but worked for us. Pools and waterpark were clean and staff was friendly. Food was okay and excepted like most all inclusive resorts I felt It wasn’t anything to rave about. I do feel like there was a cleanliness issue at the buffet. Over all good stay

Very dirty, the rooms where ok but the hotel and pool super dirty, also the food not good at all.

My biggest issue was the buffet areas without air conditioning.Was extremely uncomfortable to enjoy the delicious food.Way to hot especially for the kids .I wish they consider having one area with air conditioning for the main buffet.The food taste and variety are amazing.Another area of opportunity is the pools walls they are on really bad shape .Thats scary specially with kids.He was constantly finding pieces of debris from the wall in the water .The pools areas on general where neglected.

They have snack bar open 24hr, theroom was more than beautiful with robe and slippers waiting for you in the bedroom the food is awesome.

I thought the room was a bit small. The swim-up had a lot of bugs, so it needed to be netted. Which I didn't see in the two days I stood there. I need to make a special acknowledgement to Maytte Camarera. She was very helpful and attentive, and made our stay better. I wish resorts had more employees like her.

Everything was amazing my only complaint was the fridge in the rooms, they were like coolers they need actual refrigerators.

Only downfall was our AC wasn’t cold and it was very hot in our room

Everything was good, only Wi-Fi was horrible. Only one spot where it worked good it's close to reception.

We stayed at this hotel with 2 kids, aged 3 & 4. We had a good time but we weren't impressed and didn't consider this hotel a 5 star as it's rated. It's closer to 3 stars. We stayed at the Family Club Hotel, as it was supposed to be better suited for small children. The rooms are absolutely not safe for little kids. Every element in the room is sharp. The stairs have jagged edges. The corners are sharp and unsafe. The bathroom tile is pretty slippery and so is the tile on the patio portion. We're coming back with many bruises and nicks. As the room is open between the main bed area and the children's bedbunk, we were hoping the bed and doors would be quieter, but everything creeked and cracked and it was impossible to be quiet while the kids slept. The food was very mediocre. Super fried, pretty bland, very very oily. Overall, we won't be coming back to this place and leave somewhat disappointed in the experience.

Great remodeled rooms, quick check in/check out, friendly staff, lots of restaurant choices with reservations or course. Overall a great stay.

The resort was perfect for a family vacation. The swim up rooms were great and our son loved the water park. The beach was beautiful and the entire property was very clean and well maintained. The staff was great and went out of their way to make sure we all had a great time.

I really enjoyed my stay at princess family club, every thing was perfect. Facilities ,staff, foods, but in our room a/c was not cooling , they tried to fix it, but they could not. But, we have a lot of fun! Thanks

The property itself is pretty nice. There are a lot of dining options, but it is extremely hard to get reservations at the ala carte restaurants, and the buffet for dinner is pretty horrible to be honest. Some things I did not like about my stay here were that someone from the cleaning staff stole $15 out of my wallet while I was at the beach on my last day there. Also we booked an airport transfer from the hotel to the airport and the front desk staff assured us that we could pay with credit card...we could not, and we had to go take out cash at the airport. The driver told us that they keep telling them to stop telling people that they can pay with credit cards but they keep doing it, so be forewarned. Also we wouldn't have needed to get money out for the airport transfer if the cleaning staff didn't steal my money out of my wallet.

We travelled as a family with little ones. The place was great and comfortable. Staff was amazing moreso our housekeeper shes always smiling and warm. The food options could have been better, but the services were great

Staff is really working hard to not be helpful at all, they act like they are working for free, I’ve been in punta Cana multiple times and this time was horrible

The staff was nice, the buffet didnt have lots of options! Everyday was the same food! Difficult to get a reservation at the restaurants! Besides that the trip was good I didnt like the people who were trying to scam you to offer vacations details! They will say they have gifts for you but this is not true! Overall the children were happy

Starting by the good part: The hotel is nice in term of infrastructure specially for families with small kids. The beach was nice and the rooms renovated. Now moving for the standard part: The food (including the restaurants with reservation for dinners) is between low & average (nothing fancy or special to be honest) which is a little bit disappointing for a 5 start all inclusive. And finishing with the areas of improvement: The worse part was the service specially at the restaurants, all the waiters were very rude, with no interest at all to attend people. In my case in more than 25 years visiting all type of hotels for leisure or work (at least once per month), I truly don't remember a hotel with such a bad service....it seems that the staff do it on purpose to disappoint people.

This property was nice they could do better with food options and kids activities they did same thing everyday at minidisco for kids.. Leidy and Jerry were excellent in helping us with everything.. I would recommend for the buffet for the severs to seat their customers it was annoying trying to figure which table is empty to sit at. Other then we loved our stay at this resort we will definitely be back

The staff here is amazing!! Everyone was so friendly. We were at the Hard Rock during part of our stay and when our flight got cancelled we found Princess on a whim and the staff here was waaaaaay friendlier. The scenery is way prettier and it just felt calmer and more relaxed compared to the business and rushing and rude staff at Hard Rock. Would definitely recommend this place for families with kids, old or young!

The room was very clean and facilities were well kept. There were many different restaurants with good food and buffet restaurant was also as good as the others. The beach was good. I was able to find a sunbed with umbrella no matter what time I went to the beach. There are frequent shuttles running in the resort so getting from one side to the other is not a problem although I had to wait more than 15 minutes a couple of times during busy hours. I needed WIFI because of my work and the connection was not the best, but it worked most of the time. The pool could be bigger but I didn’t mind as I am a beach person. The staff in all the facilities were friendly and helpful. Overall I had a good experience.

Overall, the dining experience was underwhelming, with only two decent meals during our entire stay. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t choose to return to this resort.

We had a great experience as a family. The resort has a mangrove with peacocks and other birds which was a huge hit. Also, trolley takes you from your hotel to beach. Our kid loved the trolley ride. The trolleys are prompt, you hardly have to wait. Food was good.

Fast check in! Staff is super friendly. There are a few a la carte restaurants around the resort which are a good switch up to the buffet. Resort provides transportation that go around the whole resort which is super convenient to take you all over. The beach is very close by and accessible.

Came here for a family vacation and can say we will be back in the future! So many activities for kids! Everywhere is wheelchair and stroller friendly. Food was delicious! The buffet food was even better than the restaurants. There’s a shuttle to take you around but it takes a while to come or it’s full (usually at dinner time). The staff was super friendly! They made us feel so welcomed. I would come back again!

the dinning experience was not very pleasant the food was cold, and the waitress didn;t knew the menu, when we schedule a reservation for the Pescadero restaurant, we didn't get what you order. and when we told them it was the wrong order they told us thats what they had. it was very dissapointing, same thing in the bar the cocktails were not good the bartenders only know how to preapre gin and tonic and pina colada and strawberry daiquiry. just frozen drinks. they need to improve.

Food was subpar if you could ever get your hands on some. Lines were long for food trucks by main pool area which was full of people. Rooms were nice but we repeatedly had to ask for them to restock mini fridge. Pillows sucked. They were always running out of food. At one point we went to the 24 hour pub for food and my kids ordered chicken nuggets and fries…they each received 3 of the smallest nuggets I’ve ever seen. They lacked the proper staffing to tend to the ratio of people staying there. Main buffet was brutal and the food was awful. Smaller buffet near kids area was much more doable and somewhat fresher. Animals around the resort were fun to watch. Ecological path was a lovely part which we frequented daily.

Overall the resort itself is nice. Great amenities for families such has water parks and kid centers. The room had a toilet that didn’t flush and we had to call maintenance to our room every time so one used the bathroom. After two days we finally got a room change. Full service restaurants were good but both adults got food poisoning from the food buffet.

The property is nice...the food not good.. you can only make a reservation to one restaurant a day. The quality of the food was not good. Almost like it was a processed food for McDonald's or other fast food restaurants

I cant say enough good things about this place. It was our first time to Punta Cana and I was definitely nervous about getting sick from the food after reading some of these reviews. I have a sensitive stomach but was completely fine my entire stay here. The buffets were underwhelming to be honest but some of the restaurants were top notch. Also, Elena and Alexis (Mordisco) were amazing!!! The property is beautiful, as was the beach. My family loved the convenience of the pools in the room and the water park. Only negative was the man trying to sell the vacation club - Alex - he was pushy, misleading, and rude. Made me feel uncomfortable after i was unwilling to leave my children flr an hour to listen to a sales pitch. Overall, would go back but will stay away from Alex.

The food was disappointing, the buffets have like 4 different stations where they serve the same 5 foods , every day no variety of food . Food dont have any flavor. And the reservation restaurant are no different in flavor and they take so long to serve a small amount of food.

The reason for the 4 star overall rating was the food was mediocre. Property was well maintained and the service people were friendly and very helpful! Overall we enjoyed our time.

Their website was so bad and we couldn’t reserve for the restaurant and we went to customer service and they helped us but when we went to the restaurant they said no reservations for you and It was very bad experience.
