It's a wonderful hotel, new, clean, great breakfast, good service, convenient location. NEVER reserve the double. They crammed a double into a single room. It's impossible for two people to get around each other, and difficult to get in and out of bed for the person trapped against the wall. The space between the bed and the desk is miniscule. Reserve a twin or better room, and you can have a great stay. I'll pay more attention to room size from now on.

Good location (close to the main shopping street and Nishiki Market). We walked to: Pontocho, Gion geisha district, Kiyomizu-dera temple...). The metro/train station for Arashiyama bamboo forest and Fushimi Inari Shrine (torii gate) is nearby. The combined breakfast (Eastern + Western) was very good. The room was small, but enough.

We loved this hotel. Very clean. The buffet breakfast was the best out of all the hotels we stayed at during our Japan trip. The espresso/tea machine in lobby was great too. The room was small as expected but still comfortable. The bathroom was nice. Great toiletries/body wash and bathrobes. Good shower head. Hotel is on a very quiet street near a metro station and near a Family Mart and 7 Eleven.
