I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately, my overall experience was mixed. I would like to start by mentioning the breakfast staff, who were very polite, welcoming, and friendly every morning. Their service was genuinely appreciated and was one of the highlights of my stay. However, my experience with the food was very disappointing. The lunch was particularly poor, especially the roast lamb, which was so bad that my friend had to ask for it to be returned to the kitchen. For dinner, I ordered a steak, but it arrived overcooked and with far too many potatoes on the plate. I decided not to complain at the time because, honestly, I had already run out of energy dealing with the food issues. The room was cleaned every day, which I appreciated, but I still felt the cleaning could have been more thorough. When I first checked in, I noticed dust on the bedside table, which was disappointing. What upset me most, however, was my interaction with the manager when I raised a concern about the lamp and asked for the charge to be removed from my bill. I felt that his response was rude and that he made me feel small on the day I checked out. For me, it was never about the money. It was about the principle. If a customer has had a genuinely poor experience with something they were unable to eat or use, I believe the concern should be listened to respectfully rather than met with an attitude. Overall, I feel that the standard of the hotel did not match the cost of the stay.
