Very clean and friendly. I was not booked into the room I requested but they made it work the best they could. Great vegetable market just across the street and the town market was also nearby.

Staff was responsive but the accommodations were misleading. The pictures did not accurately describe the rooms. Also I was unaware that I would have to carry my suitcases up a spiral staircase. That should be made clear ahead of time as that is not safe for most people. A window pane was missing from the bathroom window and I reported it on Weds am but as of Sunday morning it was not repaired. This made the bathroom and room cold and noisy. The bathroom also smelled of sewage not sure if it was the water or the broken window. The hot water was fickle. We were told to let it run for two minutes which did work at first but then it got cold again. The fridge was uneven which made it difficult to use. We chose this place because it said it was a 10 minute walk to UNAM. I tried to walk one day and it took me 1.5 hours. I walk a 20 minute mile. The rooms are not in good repair. They need to be painted and upgraded. I have been to Mexico multiple time including in the 90s when things were much worst and I was deeply disappointed by this place. There were three of us with separate rooms and everyone had the same problem. Including one group who reserved one room with three beds and they were told it wasn’t available and one person had to sleep on a mattress on the floor. Do not recommend.

This was a convenient place to stay due to its proximity to the UNAM. On the positive side, the place had more than enough space for one person, the neighborhood was safe, the small kitchen with a refrigerator was great for breakfast and storing leftovers, and my friends and I managed to all secure a room there at the same time, which was convenient. The owner also was very responsive and gave clear check-in and check-out instructions. Contrastively, the pictures of the rooms are somewhat misleading--the picture I see on my reservation (the 'panoramic loft') was not the room I was assigned but rather another, which was at the top of a precarious, spiral staircase. If you have any sort of larger suitcase, I recommend not booking this room. Also, the bathroom is incredibly small, including a miniscule shower that made bathing impossible (I had to shower in my friend's room) and washbasin hardware that is difficult to turn on and off, as it is almost flush with the wall. For students, however, I think the lofts are a great, inexpensive, university-adjacent option.
