Baymont by Wyndham Brooklyn Center

Booked the hotel room for the specific reason that online it stated that there was a swimming pool! I was not notified that the pool was not open due to construction. I thought we were unlucky to book during the two weeks of construction. I later found out that the pool had been permanently closed for years! I ask for a refund and they refuse!

The pool was unusable no filters running to keep the water clean. At check-in there was a list of items not working posted on the counter that should have been communicated during booking so the guest could decide if the stay met their needs. Instead I didn’t find out until at the property past the point of being able to cancel.

Nice room. Property could use some maintenance ice machines did not work

The elevator was broken for three days. There were water spots around the place. They do not clean the room after you check out, so expect a dirty room for your whole stay. I have stayed here before and for some reason, they never have clean towels available. Breakfast was ok.

The accessible buttons for the doors dont work, the front desk is unfriendly, and the pool area is really dirty

This hotel is a joke. Their hot tub was out of order, and has been for a while according to other reviews. Hot hallways and elevator. Swear word written in the elevator. Smudges and hand prints all over the windows. Toilet was running until we fixed it. Water dripping in the bathtub. 2 towels for 3 people and no one at the front desk/no bell so we had to take towels from the pool. No phone in the room to call the front desk. Complimentary breakfast was a joke and inedible. Rude front desk staff. Just don't stay here.

The elevator was broken, hot tub was broken, bathroom in the pool was locked(they didn’t have a key) hallway carpet was wet from broken ice machine, 1 room didn’t have any towels the other room had 1 towel. One room the security lock was broken, the other room the toilet paper holder was hanging down off the wall. Breakfast was out of bread, no juice or water to drink. Only coffee & milk. They were obviously going through a renovation, but 1 room didn’t even have a room number on it.

Did not have the proper towels , the tv wasn’t working and was told someone will fix it and then told it can’t be fixed. The pool and hot tub was shut down by the department of health and it didn’t show it online prior to booking so we couldn’t swim or relax in water.

The property looked like was being renovated. Elevator broke right before we arrived, but got room on first floor. Lights missing light bulbs, dark room, cobwebs in windows from outside. Dan vents dirty, bathrooms had 1 set of towels and no toilet paper holders. Had one roll of toilet paper just sitting on toilet. Breakfast provided was not good. Barely a good selection. Had 2 cereal chooses all breads/muffins gone, no fruit, no juice, had milk and coffee options. Had pool but bathroom was locked. Was told that someone locked from inside and they did not have a key to open it. Hot tub was broken an and ropes off with dirty water in it. For one night was ok, but would not return.

This is a terrible hotel. It is old, smelly, and rundown. It is completely broken. The pool and hot tub are permanently closed. We did not have soap, towels, ironing, board, iron, hangers, and other basic amenities. I do not recommend this property and give it a zero out of 10. I am officially working with Expedia to get a refund on our three night stay. We couldn’t change hotels because this was already booked for my mothers funeral. Very unsatisfied.

The place was very dirty, smelled like weed walking down the hall. No breakfast, pool was closed due to Heath Department, floors were dirty and sticky , 1 light bulb in light fixture in room, Tv didn't work, only a top sheet & mattress cover , other bed didn't have any pillows. Carpet had paint stains all over, paint stains in bathtub, & chair we had was deteriorated and dilapidated.

The room smelled like mold and was super gross

The hotel its self was in bad shape. There was water leaking and the hallways had a strange smell to them. None of the signs saying where the rooms where are correct the arrows all point the wrong direction. The room is low quality. They didn’t clean the room very well before we arrived. There was trash on the floor. Hair in the shower. The furniture was old and stained with ripped fabric. The sheet on the bed was stained and on the bed inside out. The comforter was also stained. The room had this horrible perfume smell that would not go away. The lady that checked us in was complaining about other guests. The cable that comes with the room did not work and they didn’t do anything to compensate for it. They called my room multiple times saying we had guests at the front desk only to realize they had the wrong room number. I wouldn’t stay here ever again.

Our room was filthy. Food in the carpet, garbage wrappers beside the bed, make up smeared on the mirror, hand and finger prints visible, stains on the bedding - looked like the sheets hadn’t been changed, half the lightbulbs were out. No shuttle, far from any amenities or attractions.

Dirty! Room numbers written on wall with sharpie. My first room had the window stuck open in 28° F weather. Everything smelled of smoke.

Our room was not clean when we arrived. Bloody sheets and even up on our curtains. Our room was not vacuumed. The garbage was left in our room and our entire room smelled of cigarette smoke. The staff were sitting in the bathroom for long periods of time and coming out acting questionable. No one was ever at the front desk. We waited 10 plus min just for someone to show up. When we complained about our room, we were originally told that they were booked and there was nothing they could do. They did check us in to a room that was under construction but anything was better than what we were originally in. The room didnt have a tv, fridge or microwave so traveling with our kids was made extra difficult. We were so disappointed. The second day, we went down to swim and found that both the hot tub and the pool were drained which we were not told upon check in. We left to say the least. It was an awful experience

Super dirty in the room and in common areas

Me and my fiancé stayed here and there was bed bugs in the bed and on the wall of the bathroom on the second floor, and the bathtub was chipped and dirty. Don’t recommend staying here, the hotel is unsanitary

When we got to our room the tv didn’t work. Would not connect to the internet. Went to call the front desk and the phone didn’t work. Went to the front desk and they switched our room. Got to the second room and the tv turned on but static. The bed looked like someone had slept in it.

First I will say the staff was very nice! Not one complaint about the staff except maybe housekeeping. When we first got to the hotel we had booked a king suite so we would have a separate area for us and our two boys, when we got to the room it was HOT! The air conditioning did not work properly so we actually went and bought a fan to try and cool it down more, it did not help. The room had a broken toilet paper holder hanging from the wall and there were no towels in the room at all. The heat finally became too much so they offered to switch us rooms. We took it since the room was unbearably hot. When we got the room it was cool however we no longer had the space we wanted when we booked the room, the toilet paper holder and the towel racks were broken and hanging from the walls, our TV didn’t work and didn’t get fixed until we were almost ready to leave and the biggest kicker of all was there was a pair of women’s underwear hanging on the shower rod. The Manager told us he was going to refund our room for one night all we had to do was contact Expedia and have them call the hotel to confirm which we did. I then received an email from Expedia saying they couldn’t get confirmation for the refund so I was out of luck on that. Nice staff but facility needs A LOT of work.

The room was disgusting. Sticky handprints on the walls and huge spiderwebs on the ceiling. Toilet was broken. Balcony door was broken and would not lock. Would not ever stay here again.

1st room they had given me was disgusting, it smell, not clean there was trash from previous person that has stayed, i asked to be moved to another room that was much better but the bathtub was clogged.

Fridge didn’t work. TV didn’t work. Noisy. Guests were partying all night. Hotel floor smelled like weed and cigarettes.

My room was dirty with hair in the tub Floors were dirty & the hot tub wasnt working. The hot tub is the reson for choosing this location.

Lady who checked me and my friend in on Friday night 8/16/24 was super friendly and very nice. We had originally booked a 2 queen bed but we were offered the choice of one king bed for a discount. Since it was just my friend and I we agreed. First impression of the room not great. Bathroom had water damage and had what looked like cigarette burns on the side. Tv had no power cord or remote. We got a power cord but no remote worked for the tv. We had to manually change the channel which no big deal but we couldn’t see what we were watching cause there was no guide . The elevator swere out of order. Thankfully we were on the second floor but can’t imagine how it would have been had we been on the fourth floor or unable to climb the stairs. Hot tub and sauna were also out of order. No big deal for us but it was a decent part of why we booked this hotel. Bed was hard but overall room was clean. The breakfast was suspicious so we skipped it and just went to the gas station across the street. Was it worth $270 for three nights? No. Would we go back? Also no. This is definitely one of those last choice hotels if you can get anything better

The pictures made it look much nicer than it was. The bed was uncomfortable, there were a people around that made me feel uncomfortable to the point I had to have a male friend come stay over at 3am because it sounded like someone kept trying to open my door to my room. I wouldn’t recommend for ladies staying solo. I rented a room with a whirlpool tub to relax and the jets didn’t work well. When they started what looked like leaves and black particles appeared in the water so that was a waste.

Check-in was rough. Got to our room and everything was unplugged, no light bulbs in the lamps, no remote. Changed rooms - smelled like mold, light unplugged. Hot tub was broken.

First hotel out of hundreds I've stayed at that had no towels in the room when I arrived. It took 5 hours going to the front desk just to get one towel.

The experience wasn't terrible. Nobody was at the front desk most of the time. No towels in the pool. Alot of upkeep is needed. Just seemed like a decent motel, short on help.

The front desk clerk took almost an hour to check me in and I had reservations made on May 6th for June 8th-12. Room was not clean, stains on chair and curtains. Bed had fitted sheet only, pillows stunk like dirty hair, shower curtain would not stay shut due to bar coming out of the wall and the water filling the bathtub as you showered. Only had one wash cloth and one bath towel, no hand towels. Foot stool in front of the chair looked like someone took a knife to it. Office chair was peeled off to the point you couldn't sit in it without scratching your legs. TV did not work. It was late when i arrived otherwise I would not have even stayed the first night but I had no car as I flew in. I checked out first thing the next morning. I was told I would get my deposit back and be refunded for the 3 nights I did not stay but no credit yet. The poor man at the desk when I checkout was in tears from people chewing his ass for their bad stay. Unbelievable to say the least.

Pool was closed but that happens. The real problem was simply no one at the front desk. People were waiting when I got there and left. I was on the phone with hotels.com when he finally walked in like no big deal. Took about 40 mins from parking till I was checked in. I should have left. After checking in the clerk left and walked across the street to the gas station, which is where I assume he was hanging out before. It's almost laughable how weird this was. The hotels.com people were nice and stayed on the phone till I was checked in.

Honestly, my favorite part of the three day stay was the dude working the front counter in the evenings. He was helpful, friendly, funny & real.

This was by far one of the worst experiences ive ever had. The front desk woman blatantly ignored us to text while we were attempting to check in. We were immediately informed that the hot tub, elevators, and towels would all be an issue at this location. When I asked if there was a discount available for the many amenities being either broken or imcompleted I was given blatant attitude. While walking us to our room we encountered industial fans and without inquiring at all, were told a toilet had backed up into the hall. Why would you offer this information? The facility was chosen solely for the hot tub and pool on our end, and they certainly charge for it. This place charges nice hotel rates and provides a rundown motel experience. Save your money.

Very poor management! When we got there the guy had just checked in and said he was the only one there… the room was not the cleanest, 1 towel and 1 washcloth, only a thin sheet on the bed to cover up and a sheet to cover the mattress not even a fitted sheet, we had to wait while he washed more towels and blankets b4 we could have them, mind you it was 11:30 pm when we got there to a supposedly clean and ready room that we had already booked. The guy was very nice about it but was obviously left with more then he could handle

The staff makes your business a nice and enjoyable place to vacation or just getaway as well as serving the many people who lives have unforeseeable downfalls. My 4 stays each time I had to extend the days keep up the good work Baymont BC Minnesota

We arrived about 3:25 PM, there were people waiting to check in. There was a note on the counter saying the person would be back at 3:30. We waited until 4 pm. No one showed. We left. I better not get charged.

This was the worst Wyndham property I have ever stayed at. When I arrived, there was no sheets on my bed, and I was given my own sheets and told to make my bed. There was cobwebs all over the room around the curtains. There was an area behind the armoire that needed painted. The pool was closed the entire visit the breakfast was cheap and not even worth having. I will never stay at this location again.

Location is the only downfall

The hotel is quiet and close to shopping areas.

I opted not to stay here secondary to the people hanging around the outside of the hotel. Give me a feeling of discomfort, so I cannot see anything specifically to the actual stay as I did not stay there.

They had a nice breakfast and attentive staff. We knew of the remodeling going on there. It was located near a highway, so it was easy to get to and be a good launching spot for our adventures.

This property has potential. Please invest time, money towards signage and some furniture replacement, and some painting touch up. First, I noticed that going in the trashcan was often over full, and there were dead plants at the front door. Inside the staff was kind, but some of the staff was distracted on their phones and multitask with phone calls and responding to in person customers. Signs on the wall Often indicated incorrect directions to a fitness center that was closed, the pool, elevators, or a business center that didn’t exist. At the elevators there is some wall touchup or missing hanging pictures, and banged up furniture. It would be fine to take the furniture out . Additionally, there was somebody who was transient on one night that slept in the lobby. Providing training for staff is essential in these sensitive situations. It is unclear if the staff is rotating, and if they have been trained. In the hotel room, the toilet seat was unbroken, I didn’t have a towel for the bathroom floor, and each day I had to go down and ask for it bath towel. Each day my card reset and I had to get it reactivated. Multiple staff told me it was a chronic problem and staff lacked initiate to train on this. The location was good and close to public transit and freeway entrance. The bones of this hotel are good. I think with some TLC you can gain another star or two.

As other mentionned, there are a few things the hotel could definitely improved on: TP and towel holder broken in the room, key card not always working, exit door, wrong signage, ice machine broken (on 2 levels, we didn't try the other ones) hot tub was drained, pool was a "hit and miss" open or closed. What was great and made our stay enjoyable was the staff we encountered: the person at the front desk when we arrived (9:30pm) was super nice and friendly. He made sure to leave the pool open so our kids could go play in the water for a bit. Our room was clean, but we didn't have any towels. He came up and deliver them promply while kids were in the pool. The highlight of our stay was the breakfast lady, though. The breakfast itself was limited, but she was more than happy to bring refills if toast/coffee... was low. She went out of her way to make sure our teenagers had enough to eat when they came down right at 9am (not realizing it was the time breakfast close, and she was breaking down everything). Overall, for the price, we were not expecting the best. However, we stayed in other Baymont that was a lot better. The facility could use some serious TLC, but the staff really played an important part to make our stay memorable.

If you are looking for a great continental breakfast this is not the place. Very sparce. Same thing every day. We stayed 4 nights and part of the draw for us the breakfast. We were hoping to save some money on at least obe meal. Wezate it one morning and ate out the rest. Toast, bagels, waffles, apples and cereal. Awful juice and coffee. Lots of empty areas that made it seem food was missing. When we arrived the floor by our fridge was soaked! I understand not keeping it plugged in but what a mess! None of the garbage cans had bags in them which seemed odd. Other than this our room was dated but very clean. Bed was comfortable and shower hot. I wouldn't stay again only because of the breakfast honestly.

The handicap system on the front door was broken. The juice machine at breakfast was broken. The washing machine in the laundry was broken. The front desk was rarely manned by anyone in the evening hours.

The place wreaked of pot and there were no towels in the room. The breakfast was eggs and turkey bacon. Nothing else and no drinks.

The $ was reasonable and the room was old and the carpet needs to be replaced. Breakfast was very limited and they were out of majority of food. Very disappointing will not recommend

This property is beneath any Baymont I have ever stayed in. The room was not clean stained sheets they said we do not have fitted sheets for the bed. Shower was nasty. I reserved a jacuzzi that I refused to use. I tried to get ice and he came from the back with a glove and offered a hand of ice. No machines work in the hotel. Also breakfast was cereal toast they had in cooked bacon and eggs that were chopped up to crumb's. I took pictures it was not worth my money. Then when you call customer service the try to see you Medicare and you can't get anyone on the line. A total disaster

The breakfast was very limited. The staff did not restock the bread or pastries. Only milk to drink, no juice. Only one waffle maker, so long line. Pool was cloudy. Water in the shower was hard. Toilet was weak. Front desk staff was helpful. Beds were comfortable.
