The Fingal Hotel in Edinburgh Scotland was an excellent choice from the time my husband and I walked in. The Fingal Crew was amazing! We had a stunning breakfast and had dinner twice in the upscale restaurant in which they only use the finest ingredients. The Fingal crew was excellent in every aspect! I recommend this experience to anyone wanting something different. We will use this same floating hotel if visiting Edinburgh Scotland again!

We had a wonderful two night stay at The Fingal. The staff were lovely as was the room, the bed was super comfy. The breakfast was delicious, it was lovely sitting in the dining room looking over the beautiful deck where you can sit outside and enjoy a drink or coffee in the sunshine. All in all it was totally amazing

Such a wonderful and unique luxury hotel for the weekend. Everything was fabulous including breakfast and dinner at the Lighthouse restaurant. We loved it here and would highly recommend.

The hotel is located in a quiet and very accessible location, away from the hustle and bustle of the centre of Edinburgh, with their own parking facility right next to the ship. Service is of great quality, with everyone from reception to the restaurant very helpful, as are all amenities. Food was excellent and menus varied (both for breakfast and dinner). There are also numerous good restaurants within short walking distance which will accommodate all budgets. As an added bonus you receive complimentary tickets to the Royal Yacht Britannia which is moored close by and well worth a visit. We spent 3 nights on the Fingal for our first visit to Edinburgh and will definitely use it again when we come back to the city.

A wonderful stay on a truly beautiful ship. The cabins are luxurious, stylish and comfortable. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the bar, restaurant and sun decks are luxurious and well appointed. The complimentary tickets to Britannia were a surprising bonus. Adding this to my list of favourite hotels in Edinburgh along with the Prestonfield and The Whitchery.

The Fingal is a hotel like no other. The rooms are immaculate with more room than I expected and lots of inbuilt functionality and storage helping keep our luggage out of the way. Likewise the bathroom was much larger than expected. The fittings one fit out were beautiful with many great design elements providing a luxurious finish. The food onboard was amazing and breakfast each morning was looked forward to with views over Leith and the water. The tram stop a hundred meters from the door made it easy to get into and out of the city centre without fuss and ran late into the evening making a a great way to get around. Above all I must call out the staff. They were all friendly and engaging with nothing being too difficult. They were genuine and warm. A special mention to the ladies who served breakfast each morning we were there. Thanks for the recommendations and great start to each day. If you are lucky enough to stay here I strongly recommend the brulee porridge.

We had a very lovely and relaxed stay. The staff were attentive and very helpful. The cabin was clean and spacious. The inside of the ship was a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. The ballroom was nicely decorated for a wedding. The food was great too!

The hotel was lovely, pristine, everything shone. The staff were very friendly, polite and attentive. We were in a standard cabin and it had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and there was a great shower. We ate in the restaurant and the food was very good. We had a great stay and would highly recommend if you want somewhere a bit different and luxurious.

What an amazing 5* experience! The Fingal was everything I wanted it to be. A surprise overnight stay for my other half for his 70th birthday and it did not dissapoint. We stayed in the Luxury Duplex suite and it was lovey as the pictures on the website. Evening meal was delicious and the best breakfast I've had in a long long time. A short walk to the Royal Britannia yatch which also exceded my expectation which is beside The port of Leith distillery - if you like whisky a great place to visit. Obviously there's a cost involved staying on the Fingal in the Duplex room but for this special occasion worth every penny. Loved it !

My 2nd stay at The Fingal and probably my last. Nothing wrong with service, food or cleanliness, it was all 10/10 but the room I had ordered was an upgraded room but unfortunately due to the fact it was directly below the kitchen my cancer striken partner and I were awake from approx 4.30am with constant footsteps and banging, it absolutely ruined her birthday break away. Spoke to the manager who said he would investigate and reply via email. Sadly that's not going to fix a ruined night. I didn't get the impression he fully understood my issue. Paying over £400 to be woken up at 4.30am was not and ideal for my partners health nor my wallet. I'm sure other rooms would have been fine though to be fair to such a beautiful hotel.

The hotel is superb, romantic and quiet. Beds and pillows are very comfortable. Our room on two levels was pleasantly quirky, quiet and spacious. The onboard restaurant offers high quality refined food and ample drinks options and is probably the best restaurant we tried in the whole of Edinburgh. Further to the above, the excellence and kindness of the personnel and their ability to help with all the requests we had while showing elegant mannerism and refined conversational skills rendered our stay and whole experience memorable and possibly one of the best in our holiday around the UK. Definitely recommended to those searching sophistication and elegance away from the crowds.

We booked a one-night stay on The Fingal to try something unique during our 2-week vacation in Scotland. It did not disappoint… in fact, it exceeded our expectations! The room was large and extremely comfortable. The bathroom and shower were great too. The only negative was that half of the room was on a slight decline but it wasn’t an issue for us. The food at dinner and breakfast was phenomenal and the staff went above and beyond to make sure every need of ours was met. Highly recommend this amazing experience!

3rd time here and unfortunately not a great experience this time. Having to ask to be served drinks, having to ask for the room to be made up, a stuffy room with noisy air conditioning… Felt completely overpriced and definitely not a 5 star experience. Sat outdoors both evenings and whilst the new seating is a great addition, the timber handrail and painted railings are looking tired

A unique experience! Great location, rooms were bright, clean and modern. Restaurant food was top notch. On the whole, staff were pretty good but at times we were left waiting in the restaurant for too long and there didnt seem to be any structure to how things were managed (people who were sat after us were attended to before we were, for example). But in the scheme of things this was a minor irritant on what was a truly lovely experience overall. The history of the ship is also pretty amazing!

I don’t know how to put into words just how amazing our stay was. Even before check in staff were attentive and in communication to make sure even the tiniest want was attended to. 3rd time here and unfortunately not a great experience this time. Having to ask to be served drinks, having to ask for the room to be made up, a stuffy room with noisy air conditioning… Felt completely overpriced and definitely not a 5 star experience. Sat outdoors both evenings and whilst the new seating is a great addition, the timber handrail and painted railings are looking tired

I cannot fault the Fingal hotel in any way. Booked this as part of our mini moon after getting married in Scotland and it really lived up to expectations. From the moment we walked in, the staff were friendly and engaging, giving us tips on sights and restaurants in the area. The room itself (luxury cabin) was perfect for us, tastefully decorated and with a door going onto the deck upfront. We both slept really well and the mattress quality was excellent. The breakfast was divine, so many options to pick from and all executed perfectly. Special shout out to the staff at breakfast who were so cheerful and made it effortless to pick whatever we wanted from the menu. We had dinner on board the first night and it is truly fine dining, our plates were like pieces of art. One final fabulous feature of the boat is its elevator, which again, is tastefully designed in keeping with the rest of the interior as well as being spacious. Beautiful unique accommodations and excellent service make this our favourite Edinburgh accommodation. With the new Tram to Leith, it's also very convenient - the stop is 2 mins walk from the boat, and 20 mins to the centre on the Tram. It's not cheap, but then quality rarely is and we enjoyed every moment aboard.

The hotel is located in a quiet and very accessible location, away from the hustle and bustle of the centre of Edinburgh, with their own parking facility right next to the ship. Service is of great quality, with everyone from reception to the restaurant very helpful, as are all amenities. Food was excellent and menus varied (both for breakfast and dinner). There are also numerous good restaurants within short walking distance which will accommodate all budgets. As an added bonus you receive complimentary tickets to the Royal Yacht Britannia which is moored close by and well worth a visit. We spent 3 nights on the Fingal for our first visit to Edinburgh and will definitely use it again when we come back to the city.

We had a fantastic stay and would love to come back. The tram to the city centre is just outside and then we caught the tram to the airport. Go and see the Royal Britannia, that was amazing and the restaurants and pubs around Leith are lovely.

From the very first glimpse to the end of our stay i was blown away by The Fingal. Stunning boat with great history which was tied into the whole experience. The staff were amazing and treated us like kings even though we just had an overnight stay. Great location, walking distance to great pubs and restaurants. Tram runs by so easy to access Edinburgh and all that holds. Staff really were 10 out of 10 and made our stay memorable. Well done to The Fingal crew.

Fantastic location near the water with easy walking to restaurants and Pubs. Tram service to town center is 2 min walk away. The Fingal, a unique and relaxing hotel and is must stay if in Edinburgh. Accommodations, staff, food, and drink are 5 stars all around. Recognizing that there is long term improvement going on in the area, it does not detract from the beauty and history of the area. The property is of course, unique by design. There is no actual lobby, only the bar/restaurant on the 3rd floor. The service is excellent, the employees very cheerful and helpful. The deluxe cabin was adequate. The room had everything you need--mini-fridge, good shower, etc. There is no shelf space in the bathroom, so we had to keep our toiletry bag nearby. The location is a bit out of the way--not a great amount of choice of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel does offer a ticket to the Britannia, and that was a well appreciated perk!

The stay was phenomenal at Fingal. The staff were personable, efficient, and overall outstanding. The room was unique, comfortable, and luxurious. We had a great time. The daily breakfasts were phenomenal and the restaurant was first class and well-deserving of the 2 Rosettes. We will stay at the Fingal upon our return.

What an amazing 5* experience! The Fingal was everything I wanted it to be. A surprise overnight stay for my other half for his 70th birthday and it did not dissapoint. We stayed in the Luxury Duplex suite and it was lovey as the pictures on the website. Evening meal was delicious and the best breakfast I've had in a long long time. A short walk to the Royal Britannia yatch which also exceded my expectation which is beside The port of Leith distillery - if you like whisky a great place to visit. Obviously there's a cost involved staying on the Fingal in the Duplex room but for this special occasion worth every penny. Loved it !

An amazing experience recommended for that special occasion. Hotel is super high quality. Dinner and Breakfast were exceptional. The only negative was a particularly noisy table on Saturday night for dinner but they left after a while and it was a much more pleasant experience!

The hotel is superb, romantic and quiet. Beds and pillows are very comfortable. Our room on two levels was pleasantly quirky, quiet and spacious. The onboard restaurant offers high quality refined food and ample drinks options and is probably the best restaurant we tried in the whole of Edinburgh. Further to the above, the excellence and kindness of the personnel and their ability to help with all the requests we had while showing elegant mannerism and refined conversational skills rendered our stay and whole experience memorable and possibly one of the best in our holiday around the UK. Stayed for 1 night for birthday gift to my partner. Everything from the minute we entered the hotel was perfect. We stayed in a luxury duplex cabin and it was really lovely. Had everything you could want plus more. Dinner was really delicious. Great value. Great cocktails too. Breakfast was also great. High quality ingredients cooked to perfection. Staff were all lovely too. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely stunning. We genuinely felt special during our short stay and the staff were really nice. The food was amazing, our cabin was stunning. We just couldn’t fault anything. It was quite expensive to stay here but it was really worth every penny.
