Wow! This was truly the best hotel we have ever stayed in! It was pur first hotel in Japan, so we're not sure how it compares to other Japanese hotels, but as Americans the service and ammenities here absolutely blew us away. They have everything that you need. The location is fantastic. The room was very quiet, despite being in a busy, lively area. We needed urgent medical care during the trip, and the staff found a place and called and made the appointment for us, and we received top-tier medical care as well. The one small ossue is I wish they had more laundry machines, as there were only 3 for the whole building; but we only had to wait about 6 minutes during our stay (January), so it wasn't too bad. They offer a full set of ammenities and a variety of free coffee from a machine in the morning. Comfortable beds. Extremely clean, everything worked well, luggage transfer service was excellent. 11/10 stay here!

Our favorite hotel in Japan! It's so close to the station, lots of busses, shopping, eating nearby. The staff was so helpful- they filled out my Yamato shipping form for me and took care of things. The only annoyance is that despite using a key card, the elevator always stops and opens at floor 2. The laundry facilities were very nice and you could check on them on the TV (to see how much time was left or if they were free). I also loved how the pajamas were two piece variety!

At the heart of Kyoto shopping district, this was a great location to take breaks during a busy exploration day. Coffee and drinks services were great and available throughout the day. Only suggestion would be to add more laundry machines for the ratio of # of guests to machine. Our room was directly across from the laundry room and it was in use 24/7. Luckily the hotel provided ear plugs for our stay knowing the noise from the streets and surrounding area. Aside from that, the beds and amenities were great and will stay again!

While we chose the hotel based on its central location - with Nishiki market and the Gion district within walking distance - the hotel, staff and amenities completely exceeded expectations. Everything was wonderful, including the excellent buffet breakfast with both Japanese and European options. The room was larger than expected with a small but efficient modular bathroom that included a bathtub and shower. The room also had a kettle and excellent green tea. Coffee was available in the foyer.

During our 15-day trip in Japan and Korea, this was one of the two hotels that provided the most in-room amenities. They even supplied facial cleansing gel, cleansing oil, and many other personal care products I won’t list here. Pijama included. Breakfast was decent, and the complimentary coffee available throughout the day was a nice touch. The only downside was the attitude of the ladies working at the reception, which we did not appreciate.

A lovely spacious room, very clean and staff are lovely. It's also a wonderfully convenient location for trains, busses and walking Laundry services are very good but be aware if you choose wash and dry you'll also have to pay extra for more drying because one lot of drying won't actually fully dry anything. There are only 2 machines on the floor I stayed on so it's hard to get access. It would be nice if they had a little clothes line in the bathrooms so you can hang dresses to dry but they have a lot of amenities such as irons, steamers, trouser presses and ironing boards which is fantastic

Location is great, bed isn’t very comfortable, very thin mattress. There is a horrible smell from the toilet which caused my partner and I to become ill and having to leave early. After reading more reviews I see this is a common problem. I would not recommend this place for comfort, but would recommend it for location.

Great area! Great staff! Great service! Only concern was the moldy smell in the room. But we didn’t really spend much time there and we didn’t ask to be changed to a different room so maybe not all the rooms smell like that. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay!

去年から3度目の宿泊になります。 とにかく立地が凄く良いです。 スタッフの方も全員素晴らしい接客でした ただ今回残念だったのが2点ほどあります 1点目は浴槽は洗ってるのか疑問でした。1日目は私が使い終わった後浴槽を洗ったので比較できませんでしたが2日目の入浴後浴槽を洗わず次の日にお湯はりをしようと思い浴槽内を触ったら少しザラザラしてました。浴槽は洗った感じではなかったです。水滴を拭き取るぐらいなのかな？って思いました。過去2度泊まった時は綺麗だったんですが‥ あと2点目は朝食です。おばんざいが3日連続同じ物でした。今までは4種類ある内の1種類は違う物があったので楽しみにしてましたが今回は全て同じでガッカリ‥ ただ今回始めてわさびと昆布のお漬物？みたいなのはとても美味しかったです 残念な点はあったけど、また泊まりたいと思います。 綺麗な部屋で過ごす事が出来てスタッフの方の気持ちの良い接客ありがとうございました。また利用させてもらいます

This property was nearly perfect. Great location near shopping and dining and it was clean. However, you need to request a room on the backside or quiet side. If you are on the street side, it is impossible to sleep. It would be good for hoteliers to work with the government to change the sound or hours that aid cares can run their sirens. Also, the rooms are super small (but that is normal) would be nice if their beds were elevated slightly to accommodate suitcases so that the nice sitting area could be used.

Good hotel with an excellent location. Just a few steps away from shops like 7/11, Don Quijote, Onitsuka Tiger and a food court. Lovely staff, very friendly. The room was also nice, although a bit small, it had everything you need for basic living.

The room we had was clean, size was exactly as expected for a hotel in the central part of a large city. It was known due to its central location it would be a little noisy at night, but it was manageable and we both managed to sleep soundly all nights of our stay. The location was excellent for all things getting around.

Overall good stay. The original room assigned was facing directly the busy street with the bed against the window; it was too noisy so I asked for a room change. I paid a little more and switched to a double bed room facing the temple; it was 1000% better. Great location

We arrived around noon. The hotel stored our luggage till we could check in (after 3 pm). Amenities were in the lobby to pick what one needed. We booked a twin Musse room, without knowledge that it was a premium room, and it was wonderful. Very spacious!! I would definitely stay there again in the same type room.

I recently stayed at hotel Musse Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi Meitetsu in Kyoto and had an exceptional experience. The staff were extremely friendly, always ready with a warm smile and eager to assist with any needs. The hotel was impeccably clean, which added to the overall comfort of our stay. Hôtel parfaitement situé, proche de tout, idéal pour découvrir la ville. Les chambres sont propres et confortables. Un immense merci au personnel, qui parle très bien anglais et a été d’une aide précieuse lorsque j’ai dû consulter un médecin suite à une allergie. Hôtel parfaitement situé, proche de tout, idéal pour découvrir la ville. Les chambres sont propres et confortables. Un immense merci au personnel, qui parle très bien anglais et a été d’une aide précieuse lorsque j’ai dû consulter un médecin suite à une allergie. Stayed 4 nights at Hotel Musse Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi Meitetsu, best decision ever!! Let's start with friendly staff, check-in went smooth, all toiletries self service next to the elevator. Room is clean and spacious, as a matter of fact the biggest one among all the hotels we stayed in Japan. Perfect location on the main shopping districts, Nishiki market is only 2 minutes walk, subway and train stations also within minutes walk. Lastly, plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from.

The location was perfect for us . We loved that we were within a few blocks to the Nishiki market, Takoyakushi-dōri and walking distance to Gion and the train station. You walked out of the building to lots of stores, restaurants and activity but our room backed onto a temple so was very quiet at night . The facility was clean and the reception very helpful. The room had linoleum not carpet easy cleaning. Room size was decent. We had a twin room and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Amazing Location! Right on the Main Street, but quite in the rooms! The rooms were quite big (compared to other hotels we stayed in Japan). The breakfast is good, but I would suggest to go outside and get breakfast in one of the many brunch places. Can really recommend the hotel! Great value for money!

Booked this hotel without expectations and turned out, a very nice hotel with excellent location for shopping and dining. It's clean and the cleaners do their jobs really well. The breakfast is ok, no wow factors to it but the dining staff were really nice. 4 stars as the reception staff weren't as friendly and helpful, can be improved. Also if you can include cotton pads as amenities.

Perfect location for shopping and dining. Do note that there is no driveway for a drop off as reception is on the second floor - so your driver will need to do a quick stop along the street (no shelter when it's raining). Reception very helpful with helping forward our excess shopping to the airport. Perfect location for access to the subway and Hankyu railway too. The breakfast buffet was so-so and I'd probably skip it if I stay here next time.

We stayed for 4 nights at this hotel and the overall experience was quite good. The hotel has the best value for money, with a superb location, comfortable beds and pillows, very convenient, nice buffet breakfast with a variety of Japanese food, but a few western options. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were rather small though, a coffee machine in the room would have been nice, and rooms cleaning could have been more thorough.

Dies geht jedoch einher mit einer gewissen Lautstärke bei den Zimmern auf der vorderen Hotelseite (Autos, Menschen - auch Nachts) - sodass wir in eines der Zimmer auf der Rückseite ausgewichen sind. Frühstücksbuffet ist OK, aber für 5 Nächte wenig abwechslungsreich. Ansonsten aber ein sehr schönes Hotel mit sehr netten Personal.

Hotel musse is in a very poppin and centralized part of Kyoto making it easy to get to many locations. The property is well maintained and clean. The staff were so kind and even though we placed a do not disturb notice they left care packages at our door every day. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would absolutely stay again and recommend to family and friends.
