I enjoyed the serene area around the hotel. The privacy of the pool was also quite nice. The room was bigger than expected which was a plus. On Expedia’s page one of the amenities stated was that the Mondrian provided beach towels but on the day I was planning to go to the beach the front desk staff said they only provide pool towels. I feel this is misleading.

No one informed me prior to booking that the hotel was hosting Miami Swim Week events and the pool/other amenities would be shut down at 3pm each day during my stay. This ruined my experience in Miami as I had planned activities away from the property during the day and was looking forward to chilling by the pool in the evenings which was not possible due to the event. I complained and the hotel did not charge the $50 daily resort fee since I complained. However I was not allowed to cancel the reservation. This greatly impacted my weekend stay and I will never stay here again nor could I recommend this hotel.

Mondrian will always have a special place in my heart for nostalgic reason but it def has gone down in its care. I’ll spare details but the best thing they have is the beautiful bay view and the pool. They do a good job of upkeeping that . The balconies themselves need a thorough cleaning, when you have such a beautiful view the balcony windows and bannisters should be spotless to add to that experience . I could get over the room itself which are huge but, lights didn’t work through out, carpet was dingy, bathroom it just needs a whole super cleaning and updating I love this place and just want it to return to its glory. Major major major shout out to the pool staff and staff in general ! Yall are wonderful ! Especially pool waitress Ashley!!!

I liked that they offered valet parking also the offered drinks upon arrival. Elevators are by key only ( I like and hate that) aesthetically pleasing inside and outside especially at night by the water. Staff are were very knowledgeable, courteous and nice. CONS: $153.90 resort fee, $200 nightly deposit, pool closes at 8pm, no airport shuttle.

This was the most DISGUSTING place I have ever stayed! Upon checking in I discovered an extremely worn down room in need of a full renovation. Pealing paint, cracked mirror, stained carpet and walls .. just major wear and tear. To make matters worse, the room was not cleaned! I encountered countless dead bugs, some smashed to the wall and left behind, dirty stained bedding and a filthy toilet with dried urine stains that I had to clean! When I say I would NEVER STEP FOOT in this place again! They waived the resort fee when I showed the front desk the photos, but honestly I should have requested a full refund. They have the nerve to only offer housekeeping on the 3rd day of your stay. WTH. I'm thinking about contacting the health department, because there is no way a business should be operating like this! I felt like me and my family were at risk for getting sick behind their practices. Thank you to the entire management team for ruining our family vacation because the conditions of this resort is well known to them! Shame on me for not checking the reviews first.

The pool area was nice. The room was very dirty. We asked for an extra cleaning but that didnt make a difference. The room was very old and very used. Black mold in the bath room. We are not comming back we have had hotels to the third of the price being 10 times better. Dont. Ring kids because the pool is basicly an adult film area where they also are smoking pot.

Room furnishings were sub-par for brand and price point. Housekeeping service was atrocious- dirty baseboards and floors. Ostensibly “clean” every other day for sustainability. Not so, towel change only. No wipedown of counters, baseboards, vacuuming, or floor cleaning. Dirty glass remained throughout stay. Front desk staff empathetic, appreciated them. Lobby bar/coffee was never open during our almost week long stay. Ridiculous. To access pool, guests are turned away if arriving with outside coffee, or juice. Bags are checked. Way to execute on brand.

Can’t even begin to explain my experience with this place…. Dirty sheets, hair all over the room, stains on the curtains, looked like the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned in a while. We asked for a room change and even the other room shown had stains on the sheets. We had no choice and decided to just ask for a sheet change in our room. House keeping was so rude and nasty, first she tried to get me out of the room for a sheet change and I said no, they came in to change the sheets and I watched them throw out about 5 sheets because the ones they had brought in also had stains. No wonder they were trying to get me out the room, because they were going to put another dirty sheet back on and go about their day. Got no accommodation and staff and manager were rude and nasty. They make the lobby and outdoor area really nice to mask all the old dirty rooms. Even the workers said they get complaints everyday about the room and management does nothing. I was so disappointed in my stay here.

Pros: The pool and grounds of the property were nice. Pool area is fun; nice for hanging out and enjoying good music with friends. Chill vibe but still lovely. However, it still needs some improvement, the sunbeds are dirty, towels were stained, and the overall cleanliness of the area isn’t the greatest. Cons: the rooms are atrocious. So old and dirty!! The bathrooms are the absolute worst. The film, grime and mold everywhere is actually quite concerning. The shower head has this weird chandelier encasing it and it was broken. The shower head has probably never been cleaned. It was clogged and the water was spraying everywhere. The tiles and tub actually had mold and grime caked on it. I have never seen something so disgusting at a hotel. Not to mention the sink, faucet and drain were in the same condition. Also. Our room was NEVER cleaned during our 3 day stay. There was still garbage in the room from the previous guest in the garbage bins, floor/carpet, under the nightstands, and cigarette butts and a burnt out sparkler on the balcony. The only thing they did was make the bed and change the towels. Everything else was kept the same. I was shocked, considering it’s not super cheap to stay there. I highly suggest you make it a point to have your staff properly tend to and clean the rooms. I couldn’t wait to get out of there. Would never stay there again, and would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

If you’re eager to spring out of bed at 2 a.m. only to watch a cockroach dart across your bare feet on the way to the bathroom, the Mondrian is the place for you. The sofa in my suite was “artistically” covered in mysterious stains, leaving me wondering what sort of experiments happened there before my stay. Sure, this is Miami—but when I’m paying $300 a night plus those gracious “service” fees, I expect South Beach sophistication, not a crash course in pest control. Save your money (and your sanity) and look elsewhere.

Overall, I felt like the property was very outdated and in major need of a renovation. When we came in on a late Thursday evening the staff was not super helpful. No one helped us with our bags. No one opened the door. No one even said hello. The highlight of our stay was the pool area. That was very nice. The rooms are very outdated. The TVs are very old and small. I will say the food at the poolside restaurant was very good.

Meh is the best I can say. The furniture on the balcony is peeling and looks in bad shape. The curtains were stained and def not taken care of. The comforter on the bed had stains. The floor felt sticky and my feet were dirty walking on them. The bed was very hard and low to the ground. The price for SoBe area is almost too high for the quality of the room.

This hotel has great potential but I was surprisingly underwhelmed with my room and the stay. The lobby and beach club area were gorgeous. The bellmen and beach club staff were the best staff to interact with they were all attentive and kind. The concierge and front desk staff I didn’t find to be as helpful. No one could speak to the house car that was advertised on the website for rides within a 2 mile radius and there never seemed to be enough staff to manage the traffic of folks. The room at first glance was nice and spacious but the longer we stayed the more we noticed areas of concern/blemishes. The only mirrors were located in the bathroom (vanity and shower) and the lighting was not great making makeup a chore. There were also no mirrors in the hallways or elevators. The bathroom toilet flushed slowly when it did flush. The living room wall looked as though it was patched up but not painted the walls were bare with no art which we find strange and the couch was stained. Finally, while I understand the policy around deposit and incidentals charges, I had almost $1,800 worth of charges for a $910 stay. It seemed a bit excessive. Overall the stay was alright. The hotel location was great and it was easy to move around by walking and by car and there was a decent amount of food and coffee around. Not sure if I would stay here again but if you are looking for something convenient and don’t care about the frills I would say go for it.

My experience at The Mondrian was mixed. Upon check-in, the original room I was assigned had not been properly cleaned. Thankfully, the staff did accommodate me with a better room, which I appreciated. However, the service from the front desk and bell staff left much to be desired. When I left my luggage at the hotel due to a later flight, I returned to find that a hoodie I had paired with my luggage was missing. I was short on time, as my Uber was already outside, but I tried to speak with the front desk for assistance. The staff member seemed distracted and uninterested. After radioing the bell staff multiple times with no response, I asked if he could possibly check himself, to which he responded rudely, “How could I possibly know where your luggage is?” — a surprising and disappointing tone to take with a guest. Eventually, a bell boy appeared but made no effort to acknowledge the front desk’s attempts to contact him, which was odd considering the bell staff are usually stationed just a short distance away. Overall, the lack of attentiveness and courtesy from the service team was very off-putting.

Front desk attendant was very rude. I had checked out in the morning and came back a few hours later (my flight was cancelled, bad weather) I asked to return and was told I’d need to pay the “resort fee”$153 AGAIN!! I’ve stayed here before for the convenience, however I found another place for HALF the price and no “resort fee” especially during a torrential rainstorm…. As I stated I had just checked out earlier in the day…. Never Again will I stay at the Mondrian

Our room had a lot of “minor” but noticeable things needing to be fixed giving it a bad look. I’ve stayed at hotels with less stars that had better conditions than our room at the Mondrian. We’ve stayed here before and did not have this same experience, but from the moment we walked in, the desk staff did not greet us, explain why she was running my card, didn’t offer the complimentary water or glass of champagne, or tell us to enjoy our stay and just walked away.

It is a party hotel. The room however was very quiet and nice. It was very relaxing. The staff wasnt very friendly and over charged us by $700. But, after talking to many employees at the front desk, it was resolved and it only took two days! I would recommend the hotel, just beware of extra charges and a very loud lobby area.

First, We got stock in the elevator with an employee. When they finally got us out, they apologized, asked me for a report and offered me to take care of my bill at the pool. At the time of check out, I mentioned it to the lady at the front desk, she went to back and came back and said that they had spoke with the team that got us out of the elevator and they said they had never offer me that. Practically, she told me I was a liar. Also, very rude bartender at the pool and I had to go to the restaurant to pick up the room service. I went there to celebrate my anniversary and it was a total disappointment.

Ladies at front desk are extremely rude. Difficulty with check in, not answering questions about charges/dismissive, didn't get "complimentary glass of champagne" that comes with the $75/night resort fee. 0 customer service. Made us wait in line 3 separate times when key card didn't work, wasting 45 minutes of our time on vacation. When calling to get clarification on the resort fee and deposit, Charlie is wonderful and is the epitome of customer service and hospitality. Bellmen were very nice and helpful. Hotel needs updating however it is only 4 star resort so you get what you pay for. Pool area is nice however you're not even allowed to bring a water bottle in. I understand they want to monetize off their own food and drinks, but you'd think you'd be allowed to bring water through when it's 85 degrees and full sun. The complimentary water they give you at the pool comes in a smaller cup so going back and forth to fill it up is annoying. Unfortunately, we will not be returning and the ladies at the front desk ruin it for all other staff.

My family of 4 loved staying here! The 2 bedroom is very spacious and comfortable with a balcony and beautiful view of the bay. The salted warm water pool was refreshing every morning and the pool area vibe was cool. We enjoyed the restaurant at the pool area as well. Would definitely come back again.

The Mondrian South Beach was incredible. Stayed during spring break 2025 and it was safe, the staff were amazing, and the Baia beach club was amazing. Beautiful views of the bay, 15-20 minute walk to the beach with tons of shopping and restaurants in between. Loved it here. Will be back!

At first glance its a beautiful property. It smells amazing! Then, our room had dirty sheets, dirty shower, the couch had stains. Only 1 elevator worked during our stay and the food/drinks were overpriced! I had a cup of coffee from the outside and they wouldnt let me in the pool area with it! You pay $200 a night for incidentals and 1 working elevator, dirty sheets, $400 day beds. Not worth it in my opinion

There is only one beachside restaurant and its menu offers very few options. We ordered food from outside, but were not allowed to eat it anywhere on the hotel premises. The place is very dirty, full of dust and grime. It is a shame because the location is excellent and the view is stunning. The common areas are also nicely designed, but they are not clean.

$1600 unexpected fees at check in, held in my credit card. Staff not very friendly. One restaurant, poorly attended. High prices. Room service every 2 days. Lobby dark & dingy. Lobby bar only open on weekends. Just not above place. It is actually an apartment building, with long term residents. Sliding doors to balcony are extremely loud and disturbing to hear from upstairs while I was sleeping. Dining chairs can be heard very loudly, from upstairs, scraping across the floor. Poor choice for furniture. Shower water pressure was low.
