Pros: Polite, cordial staff. The standard Holiday Inn Express breakfast is always a winner. Good bed & pillows. Spacious room. Decent shower. A/c worked great. Cleanliness is good overall. No thanks: strangely, coffee makers are no longer standard in rooms. Also, bring your own mugs/drinking glasses: these are curiously no longer standard in rooms. Maybe letting guests know at check-in would be a good idea? Anyhow, remember to ask for a coffee maker at the desk, and pick up disposable cups. (Or, be like your dog and happily lap water from the faucet.) In a country that runs on caffeine, this change has a hilariously Motel 6 vibe: somebody at HQ realized they could save a buck per day with this policy. You know, they could REALLY save by eliminating soap, bedding, TV, & mirror. I gotta say though that the lack of a coffee maker got me out of the room earlier. Convenient for the housekeeping staff! An opinion about the 2 coffee machines at the common area: they make better than average hotel coffee but during a busy breakfast rush they present a bottleneck. Carafes would be a good idea.

Stayed 1 night

Our stay started with a disappointing first impression. The room was not clean when we arrived—the floor had crumbs on it, the lounge chair was covered in crumbs, and the room smelled musty, like old cigarette smoke. We decided to look past those issues and try to enjoy our stay. Unfortunately, things got worse on the second day when we were locked out of our room for over an hour. I had a wedding to get ready for, and this delay made us late. We were told we could not move to another room because the hotel was full. The maintenance employee never arrived, despite being told he would. A housekeeper did his best to help, but he had never handled this type of repair before. Being locked out for over an hour and made late for an important event, with no compensation or apology offered, was very disappointing. There was also confusion regarding our reservations. We had booked three nights under two separate reservations and were told at check-in on Friday that everything was set and there would be no issues. However, on Sunday we received a call demanding that we check out. When we tried to get assistance, the front desk staff were not helpful and mostly talked about being overworked instead of resolving the problem. The housekeeping staff provided far better customer service than the front desk and were the only employees who seemed genuinely interested in helping. Overall, this was a frustrating experience, and I would not stay again
