The Royal Park Canvas - Ginza 8

Overall, this was one of our best stays in Tokyo. Very central location in Ginza. Lots of great shopping and restaurant options near by. The hotel itself was extremely clean and very friendly staff. This hotel also had great amenities, a gym and laundry. Would stay here again.

Location is great but rooms are very small (even by Japanese standards). We are non smokers - there is a smoking room on the 2nd floor where there is also the lounge/kitchen and fitness room. Basically that entire floor ends up smelling like smoke which ruined the facilities for us.

Good location. Room is very small, we had to step around each other and no storage beyond a couple of hanging hooks. Bathroom is a good size. The light comes in by sensor which due to the glass panel between the two rooms means a shot of light in the night if anyone uses the toilet! Like that all the extras are available from reception so no waste. Not a place to get a drink after 9.15pm, which was disappointing having come back from dinner. No access to rooftop terrace unless you are dining up there and the restaurant needs to be booked.

Great friendly and helpful reception staff. Hotel close to cruise terminal, central station, imperial palace and Ginza shopping district. Nice restaurant on the 14th floor, ground floor bar shuts at 9pm in the evening.

Second time staying at The Royal Park Canvas - Ginza 8 - our first stay was wonderful and so was this one. Great location within walking distance of great shopping, food options, and other amenities. Whether taking a taxi, an Uber, or a train, there are many options to get around the area as well as greater Tokyo. And, this modern hotel with an excellent restaurant, a cozy bar, a relaxing lounge, and friendly and courteous staff truly make it a memorable stay. We'll be back!

We found the hotel centrally located, very nice and clean room. The entire Hotel decor is very tastefully done, very beautiful including the lobby bar! There is also a Laundry room on the 2nd floor, if you want to do laundry. The hotel rooms are generally on the small side but didn't feel cramped. The hotel provided us coupon to redeem for free drink during out stay, but we didn't get the chance to take advantage it! Also, we didn't get the chance to check out the roof top restaurant, but one of our friends loved the hotel restaurant on the top floor. Overall we enjoyed our stay at The Royal Park Canvas G8.

Pros: great locations with many hidden cafe and restaurants. Very attentive n polite staff Cons: they don't support shipping service which most of hotels offer, providing boxes and taking order for typical shipping company

Beds weren't the most comfortable and the lounge area on the 2nd floor would smell pretty heavy of cigarette smoke as soon as the smoking room door was opened. Howevere, everything else was great,

The welcome drink at the bar was unexpected and was a lovely touch after a ling day of travelling. Small lounge area with vinyl records is also a nice place to chill before heading out!

Reception staff, house keeping staff and bar staff were excellent, welcoming and professional. Bonus was everyone was able to communicate in English when I needed assistance. Reception helped me ordered a van taxi to Haneda which was more affordable than ordering from Nearme, Uber, Go or Klook and not having to worry about the ride cancelling if I have too many luggages for their van as stated in those company car service conditions/terms. Hotel was clean, nice and modern. We had the standard size 2twin beds and it was spacious as we had lots of luggages. The washroom was large, modern and rain shower was a plus. Mattress and pillows were the most comfortable compared of 3 other hotels we stayed at in various cities we visited for our 18 days Japan trip. The cleaning staff went above and beyond when we only requested for towels because we didn’t leave our room till 10:30am. They cleaned the entire room. Everyday we were provided 2 bottles of water. The area was in proximity to shopping food and transportation. It was the perfect location for my travel. We were very happy and satisfied.

Hotellet kändes bra, tyvärr lite små smutsigt inne i rummet, stor dusch men inget badkar. 5 minuter ifrån tunnelbanorna vilket är bra.

The hotel location is great and the amenities lovely. However, the general cleanliness of the public areas and the room itself were not to the standard I'm used to in Japan.

We got two rooms, and both were dirty (hair on towels, linen, etc.). My room, in particular, also had food on the floor, and what appeared to be vomit. Complained and got moved to a different room; while it was better, definitely wasn't up to standards, especially for what we were paying. Manager went above and beyond to assist; we ultimately only stayed one night.

I had high hopes for this stay, but unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. The room was visibly dirty — hair on the floor, stains that looked like vomit, and an overall unclean feel. Almost immediately, I started experiencing allergy symptoms: itchy eyes, constant sneezing, and congestion, likely from poor air circulation or some kind of allergen like mold. I ended up having to buy allergy medicine and take it daily just to get through the stay. The staff did provide an air purifier, which was kind, but it didn’t help much. The only positive thing I can say is that the staff were extremely friendly — they genuinely tried to help, but unfortunately, the state of the room made it impossible to enjoy the stay. Sadly, I wouldn’t return or recommend this hotel to others. Cleanliness and comfort are non-negotiable, and this experience missed the mark.

Great location but my only compliant is that the rug in the room was dirty, this gave the impression that the room wasn’t clean.

Very convenient location just 20 meters from Ginza. Helpful staff. Rooms are very small, as is normal in Tokyo. Comfortable bed. Bathroom is compact, but a great shower with rain head. The room was amazingly quiet for being in a big city. Only (minor) complaint was that the lighting isn't great - even with every light in the room turned on, it was still dark.

We originally got a king sized 200 sqM room, the room was way too small. Not even enough room for our luggage to open. We upgraded to a Deluxe room that's 300 SqM, room was much better, just enough space, great shower and corner room with 2 windows. The location of this hotel is the selling point, everything is just a few minutes walk away. Would definitely stay at the hotel again.

We stayed here for 2 nights during our japan trip and the location is great. It’s right in the middle of Ginza shopping district. The staff was welcoming but not a warm welcoming compared to the other hotels we stayed at. We stayed in the room with the king sized bed and it was great and surprisingly spacious. The toilet was separate from the shower room, which I found to be convenient especially with 2 people staying in the room. We also received 2 welcome drinks at the hotel.

Hotel is conveniently located in GINZA close to shopping and food. There wasn’t a closet or drawers so be prepared to live out of your suitcase. Also space is a bit tight, so not very suitable for multiple huge check in size luggage.

Staffs are fantastic!! Friendly, helpful and clear communications. Room, hotel facilities are clean and environment is ok too. Convenient location, less than 10min walk to Ginza station. Room is rather dark (quite dark actually), would be good if can be brighter. Limited space for baggage but that’s the same for most hotel in Tokyo. Check that hotel room layouts are suitable before booking. Some might really find it hard to place baggage(s). The 4 stars is due to darkness. There are bigger room but wasn’t available by the time I booked. Stayed before and didn’t remember room being so dark.

This was a nice, clean, well appointed place in a great location. Room itself was rather tight, especially because we had luggage for a long cruise we were getting on in a few days, but it worked OK for us for a short stay (just two nights). Bathroom and shower were good.

Great location. Great staff. Room is so tiny. We could barely open 2 suitcases at the same time. It was hard packing multiple suitcases with such a small space.

Very comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic. Room was very small and window faced a wall three feet away with no sunlight.

Comfortable room (spacious for Japan standards) and bed (the least firm compared to the other 5 hotels in our trip, making it very comfortable) Excellent location, close by a metro giving you fast access to Shibuya, Odaiba, Tokyo National Stadium, Team Labs Borderless and Akasusa. Within walking distance to Tokyo Station (easy 20’ walk even with carry-ons) Not many cheap or affordable Japanese restaurants in the area since it’s upscale. For those, go to the alleys parallel to main street

Lovely and well maintained hotel in a great location. Near metro station, with a konbini beside it. Spacious by Tokyo standards, bathroom also quite big! My main issue was the lack of storage and surfaces to place our things on. So difficult to organize things during our stay which made our room a mess the entire time. Our window was facing a wall that is very close essentially no light enters the room and it’s just dark all throughout.

I love staying in this hotel and always try to stay whenever visiting Japan. For our March 4th, 2025 vacation with my son, we booked this hotel again. I love the staff and convenience of the location. Right in the heart of Ginza shopping district. Things I always look for when choosing a hotel: - Hair conditioner in the room b/c I have long hair - Skin care and toiletries so that I don't have to pack and travel with my own - Close to FamilyMart or 7-11 and this hotel literally has one within a 5 second walk. - Subway is about a 5-7min walk depending on how fast you walk. Super easy to get too - Don Quixote (Tax-Free shopping) store also 5 min down the road for all your late night shopping needs. My current trip to Japan was a roller coaster from the moment I landed. My son left his back-pack on the subway on our way from Narita airport to hotel. He had a Samsung tablet, GPS watch tracker, Stuffed animal toy and snacks in his bag. We informed the hotel at Royal Canvas Ginza 8 to help us translate to the subway station and try to help locate the bag. It was 3 days of non-stop troubleshooting/locating/translating to different stations and the staff were all so active in helping. SPECIAL THANK YOU to Aya Kobayashi and her co-worker Mizuzu at the front desk for all the endless help they provided. Everyone was so happy once we retrieved my son's backpack. It was such a happy moment. I only have GREAT THINGS to say about the stuff at this hotel. We will visit again.

I loved this property. The room was small but I thought that resulted it giving it a more intimate feel. The staff were helpful. Even stores my luggage long after I checked out.

I was little disappointed how the staff handled my issue. We stayed in 4 different cities and I purchased the hotels exactly the same 3 adults and 1 child. In all of the other hotels there was 4 beds. When we checked in at Royal Park we walked in the room and there were only 3 beds. I went to talk to the receptionist and said that there was a mistake and the receptionist said that kids are free, but I mentioned that if they are free were are they going to sleep and she kept saying that I didn’t pay for my child. I asked to pay in order to get a bed for my kid and she said that there were no rooms for 4 people. I asked for 2 rooms in order to accommodate all four of us and she said that there were no rooms left. The hotel did not come up with any ideas of how to solve the problem. I ended up sleeping with my 11 year old in a twin bed for 3 days. My frustration was that I was willing to pay for another room, I was willing to have my kid sleep on the floor or I was even willing to even connect to twin beds with they had provided comforters or blankets and king sheets to minimize the gap in between beds, the the hotels didn’t care for either of my options.

I rarely post any negative reviews but my stay at the Royal Park Canvas Ginza 8 was a horrible experience. The staff at the hotel gave us a room at the specified check- in time. After a long travel day with a young child and we have finally settled in the room (luggage opened, clothes out/hung), the hotel staff came by a few times without telling us what was wrong. Finally they told us that they gave us the wrong room and asked us to move!!! I was really upset about the situation but decided not to make a scene, and agreed to move. We had to repack our luggage, move them all the way to the new room, and at the same time, need to manage a rather tired & cranky toddler! The manager never came to apologize nor the hotel did anything for the huge inconvenience that they have caused my family. The setup of the new room was also an odd one with the sink right next to the bed and the shower and washroom in a separate area. This reminded me of university dorms. Other than the location was super convenient to the main streets and food, the experience at the hotel was horrible.

During my recent trip to Japan, I had the pleasure of staying at The Royal Park Canvas - Ginza 8. The hotel is beautifully decorated and impeccably clean, and the check-in process was a breeze. The location is a major highlight, situated centrally in Ginza with abundant options for both dining and high-end shopping. I also appreciated the laundry facility, which makes packing and traveling with a carry-on much easier. My room was slightly warm, but the staff promptly provided a fan, and the temperature was comfortable afterward. I particularly liked the added security of needing a key card to access each floor on the elevator. Throughout my stay, the staff were consistently helpful, friendly, and professional. Overall, it was a very comfortable and enjoyable experience.

The staff didn't accommodate breakfast for 3 yr old kid. All hotels in Japan accommodated this (as we marked this in the booking) Not sure what they expect kids to eat.

Location of the property was great. Easy access to public transit, restaurants, and shopping.

The hotel is located in an area with easy access to more than one train station. If you want to shop the Ginza strip then this is also a great location for that.

Small room. The room is quite dark even with all lights on. There’s no ventilation in bathroom. Breakfast is boring with no variety. Location is good that’s all.

Hotel is very conveniently located and walkable to many places in Ginza. Room cleaniness was not great and rooms are very small and a bit worn down. Breakfast only offers a set menu which is not child-friendly.

Uma grande decepção! O check-in foi tranquilo com atendimento em ingles. Quarto bem pequeno e apertado e vc só abre a mala em cima da cama. Banho excelente, amenities ok e limpeza eficiente. Tem pijama confortavel e chinelos descartáveis. O café da manhã é caro e PÉSSIMO. são 3 opções de menu pronto, vc não consegue trocar nada, a comida não é gostosa, não pode repetir, vc só pode escolher tomar 1 suco ou café ou chá e te cobram mais 500 yenes se pedir extra. Nunca vi isso em toda minha vida! Os atendentes falam bem pouco inglês e são grossos. O bar do hotel é caro e tem serviço bem ruim. Conclusão: hotel caro com péssimo custo benefício. Não indico de jeito nenhum!

Everything was fine but the breakfast was meh.

A brilliant location in Ginza, perfect for shopping and seeing Tokyo’s sights! Breakfast not great though. Rooms are small but ok size wise, bed was big and comfortable - expect some noise staying in a busy area of the city.

Fantastic stay, close to shops, easy to walk out and see shops. Great breakfast. Helpful staff. Cute pyjamas. Close to Ginza train station, take this one, not the Shinjuku.
