We enjoyed the ocean view and easy access to the beach. Also enjoyed the clean pool.

Overall, Surf Suites gets a 5/5. Really, it’s one of the quietest and most relaxing places I have slept. What I liked: Comfortable bed, Oceanfront room (the living room overlooks the water), the balcony/porch, updated kitchen and living area and plenty of closet space. Free parking for the room (this is HUGE). What I didn’t love: Bathroom needs updating, could’ve been a little cleaner. They put me in a ground corner room initially and I had to ask to be moved. They did give me a little pushback, saying I should’ve called for a better room. Things to know: 1. You get one parking spot. They will accommodate a visitor if there is room. Street parking is available but it fills up QUICK. 2. There is coffee in the lobby. Thank you. 3. Sunday’s, across the street, has good coffee, baked goods, a really nice staff and good beers. They have sandwiches that you can microwave on site (skippable… just don’t). TLDR: This is pretty much the perfect beach motel. I wanted to stay longer and I would definitely return.

It is a nice place to go, especially if you want on the beach. Building is old but inside updated nicely. Pool area was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would come back.

We stay here every summer. The staff are very friendly and treat you like visiting family. We always look forward to seeing the bunnies on the lawn. The only downside this year is that the elevator broke right before we arrived. However, the staff offered to help us with our luggage. It’s located right next to the Oceanic’s pier, so no need to take an umbrella when you can sit under the pier! Also, you feel safe because there’s a lifeguard stand right there. The rooms are clean, up-to-date, and spacious. You can’t beat the view from the balcony. Every room is directly ocean-front. Can’t wait to go back!

This is a 3-star property in a 5-star location. We stayed 5 nights in a king suite and enjoyed the views and the sound of the surf, plus the easy parking and ease of beach access. We were surprised by how quiet the property was, but I guess that depends on who is staying there at the time. We were fortunate, although there was someone who smoked on their balcony and we had to come inside and close up the doors (not the hotel's fault). The property was spacious and clean, and housekeeping was very helpful and freshened up our room when requested. The recent remodel is nice, with vinyl plank floors, new, comfortable furniture, cabinets and countertops. The table and fully stocked kitchen were convenient (including filters for the coffee maker and paper towels), as we did enjoy a few meals in our suite. The bed was quite firm and the bedding was very worn and there was no blanket on the bed, just a sheet and a very thin comforter. I was glad to have the extra blanket meant for the pull-out. Also, room darkening curtains in the bedroom would be nice as the blinds let in quite a bit of light. There is minimal counter space in the bathroom, but there is storage under the sink and in small closet located in the bathroom. We really did enjoy our stay and would definitely stay again. It is perfect for a couple or possibly a family with small children, but I don't think it would work well with older children or teenagers.

Perfect location and exactly what we had hoped it would be...quiet and relaxing. The views are amazing and we enjoyed watching the surfers and also the little herd of rabbits that graze in the lawn. The pool was very clean and the entire property is beautifully maintained.

Once checked in the property offered a relaxing and good experience. Had to go off site for any meals or amenities except for a couple of vending machines. Pool is small and very plain. More like a motel pool. Beach was a short walk but very nice beach area. Very good wash and clean up area for sand wash up at Hotel.

At over $300 a night you'd expect yhat the kitchen woukd be stocked with a simple thing like a cookie sheet or baking dishes. At $300 a night maybe toilt paper that is one step away from sand paper. At over $300 a night how about towels or a bathroom at the pool? Maybe some drinking water out there? For $300 a night how about a welcome bottle of water or forget that, how about just smile? Except for one of the cleaning crew (Kim), the staff has all the charm of Soviet prison guards.

The hotel location is perfect! We enjoyed the ocean view and easy beach access. Garbage pickup and fresh towels are offered daily. The amenities were terrible. No pool or beach towels are available. Two small bars of soap and a tiny shampoo bottle are all that is provided. It also would have been nice to have beach chairs or umbrellas available.

There has been a fairly recent renovation and the room overall was nice, but there were no towel racks to hang towels up on. Pull out bed was dirty and uncomfortable. The filth underneath the pullout on floor was nasty. When we checked in, we did not have the option of choosing a room. This was the same problem online when booked through Expedia. Was informed *at check in* that IF we had called 24 hours in advance, they could’ve accommodated a room request for something other than the ground floor, where they put us despite vacancies on higher floors. This should be made apparent on their website AND Expedia. Beach VERY crowded on Saturday but other days ok. Oceanic restaurant is right next door. Food was excellent but service was terrible. Took 40 minutes to get just our drinks! Despite all the issues, I’d go back but call ahead to request room. Hopefully if manager sees this, they will do some deep cleaning and install towel bars. And be more transparent on website about room requests.

Really nice cozy stay! The only negative was a big roach in our bathroom, but it’s the beach, so not a total surprise. The bed was comfy, the kitchen had what we needed, and it was ocean front!

The location right by the sea is fantastic, just a few steps to get to the beach! It’s a good place to relax in peace. The apartment needed a bit more cleaning. The bathtub had a noticeable black line of dirt, and the broom had a big clump of hair stuck to it! The sheets and towels were perfect, and the kitchen had the essentials, although it could use some more cleaning on the furniture. The front desk was helpful and kind. Overall, not bad; we’ll come back.

I got go check in early & it was all I needed. I never could find the forks/spoons. The floors were dirty. A/C was really loud! Bed not comfortable. Great location. I had a medical emergency & had to leave at 1am. I needed help getting my stuff out. They had an elderly lady with a walker at the front desk. I feel it’s dangerous for her and no help to me. I had to get my things down alone and I had just threw up 3x & soaked in sweat. I didn’t know where the hospital was. I turned in my keys because I was scared I’d get charged for

This was our first time at this property, Wrightsville beach. We were very pleasantly surprised! Great, up to date rooms, very clean and comfortable! Full kitchen was even more of a plus! Beach front view was BEAUTIFUL from all balconies! Highly recommended. We will definitely be back!

We love that all the rooms have balconies that face the ocean. It’s only 4 floors high so the higher the floor, the better for the view. We were on floor 2 right in the center and it was nice but floor 4 in the center would be best. We were able to check in early which was great. Right on the beach - love that. Only complaint would be how loud it was very early in the morning from some housekeeping carts maybe? rolling by outside. SO loud. (It’s like a motel with all the doors on outside halls). Also, the bedrooms are on the outside hall, not on the beach — the living room is where you can see the beach. Kind of a bummer to not wake up and see the ocean. Still, we’d stay here again for the convenience.

I liked that the property was beach front and that it was so close to a nice restaurant. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. If I stay again I would request a high level floor for a better view. We were on the first floor, so we could only see the waterline of the ocean. Much of our view was obstructed by the dune and tall bushes.

This is a great property all around. They just need to update the wifi and it will be a perfect stay!

Appliances starting to show their age. Wi-Fi signal poor so hard to stream tv and week signal for phone call and email.

The property and our room had everything we expected. We even had a maintenance need with something we brought for the beach and the staff was able to help us with a solution for that! We will definitely return.

The property is in a great location. No complaints about the property itself, only complaint is that when we booked through Expedia we requested 2 rooms near each other on upper floors. When we arrived one was on the first floor and the other one on the second floor on the opposite side of the building. Disappointing. And even though the vacancy sign was on they refused to move us.

We have stayed here several times and always enjoy it especially the proximity to the beach, coffee shop and dining. My only issue this stay was on our last night of a 3 night stay I decided to turn on the bedroom TV as my husband was fishing and my youngest wanted to lay with me and watch TV, it was broken. I figured no biggie and she was fine. When we checked out i did the responsible thing and notified the front desk. We were stopped in the parking lot and questioned about it, I explained and the guy tried to blame my kids and basically accused us of lying but said he would let it go. It was really upsetting. Next time I will be sure to check that all the tv's are in working order at check in.

The reception person was great. Showed me a room, where to eat etc.

All the staff at the property were very kind and the manager himself went out of his way to help me on a couple of occasions. I would definitely stay here again!

Nice place, we're staying here for the second time. The hotel does not have its own restaurant, but there are plenty of them within 5-10 minutes' drive. The rooms are clean and have a wonderful ocean view. Easy beach access, available parking, and a surfing shop across the street make it especially nice.

It is a great location, just 100 yards from the Atlantic Ocean—a wonderful view from any floor other than first: large room and full suite facilities.

We had a great stay for the 4th of July weekend. Easy access to the beach, helpful staff and the room was perfect. When I visit Wrightsville Beach again, I’m definitely going back!

I don’t expect much from beachfront motels but this certainly exceeded expectations. It’s older like most beachfront motels but clean, spacious and comfortable with all rooms facing the water. I nice large slider opens on the balcony. Very convenient to downtown and UNCW it’s beside my favorite restaurant in Wilmington - Oceanic, and across the street from Sundays coffee shop a cute, albeit always busy 2nd floor coffee shop above the surf shop.

The location to the beach and restaurant next door had great cocktails and food.

Mimi checked us in and she was polite, professional and informative. We loved that our room was a 1 bedroom suite and comfotable. We enjoyed our ceanfront view out of our sliding glass doors. Oceanic restaurant is next door, we enjoyed drinks at the bar, Chase, the bartender, excellent, as was our dinner there the next evening.

Nice place to stay for a weekend trip to the beach. Super convenient to Sunday’s coffee bar and the Oceanic pier and restaurant. Clean, comfortable room. Staff was nice. I’d recommend you try it!

The best spot if you’re gonna stay at Wrightsville Beach. Bar and restaurant on the Pier 100 feet away make it the best spot and a very walkable beach.

Great location on the beach. Right across from Southend Surf Shop where you can rent boards and purchase great surf/beach apparel. And SUNdays coffee bistro with good drinks and foods.
