The people that were working there were nice. The office was stocked with drinks and snacks which was great. They had a pool table and a bar. Across the road from the beach. I didn',t like the artificial turf around the pool. It was gross and the water was super hot like a hot tub. Not hot from sunshine hot. Hate getting a room with a pool I can't swim in. Didn't get a blanket on the bed. Just a sheet which was weird the floor is tile and felt greasy. Had to wear shoes the whole time. Parking is very small strip. The place run down and needs a lot of work. Not worth 200 bucks a night!!!!!

Not what we reserved at all. Floors were dirty . Could've stayed somewhere else for the same price. Lots of people partying that was not staying there so we could not park our car.

Noisy. People outside of rooms all night and day. Pool did not work the entire stay. Was given towels one time when returning the others was told “none are clean” every time and we stayed 3 nights. Broke glass all over the walking area to the rooms. The outside furniture did not even have cushions aside from a broke down couch lounge and a couple chairs around the pool that we could not use. I deliberately stayed her due to prior reviews but I have no idea how they are accurate. On the plus no bed bugs

Really great service in terms of the reception-- so friendly/warm and helpful! There is a little store there, too, with things you might need/might have forgotten, and they can make daiquiris for you (with or without alcohol). The rooms are VERY basic. Floors not clean enought for me to walk comfortably barefoot (I would recommend bringing flip-flops), but shower etc. was clean and the bed was clean. No blankets; just a single top-sheet. The common area (pool etc) inside the Lodge is pretty. The best thing about this motel is the location. It is right across the street from the beach, but for a budget price. Cute coffeehouse next door with good breakfast. No, you cannot see the beach as it is blocked by the high rise in front, but you can walk right across the street and you are there. The water is wonderful in this part of Florida-- clear with a turquoise/emerald hue and white sand. Wonderful to swim in!

Terrible. We are from Tennessee and stayed here for 2 hours. Absolutely a nightmare. Needless to say the fire marshall and code enforcement paid them a visit. The owner lady was super nice but no blankets on the beds and apparently this happens to all guests, ant infestation, refrigerator broken and food spoiled, door wouldn’t close to lock, extension chords running through the floor because outlets didn’t work and sparks fly when you plug in phone, etc. and pool was green and unusable. No parking!!! Please be aware this is not just a hotel it’s a bar!!!! They also told me I would be refunded but then wouldn’t answer the request from Expedia! Luckily I was still in town and went to the office and videoed the owner and pleaded with her and she accepted the refund request immediately. Please note you will have to pressure them to receive a refund!!! I would submit pictures but it won’t let me!!!! No lights worked in our unit. It was the suite #143. Terrible!!!!!

The pool was very green, and parking was very limited. Other than that, we actually had a wonderful stay! The beds were way more comfortable than some high end hotel beds. This location is conveniently located to everything you need.

I would love to get a refund, at least a partial one! Let me just say, the pictures in no way matches the hotel. The place is dirty and run down. They had 3 window unit ACs that were placed into the walls. It was HOT the entire stay. There is no microwave, coffee maker, soap, TP. No comforter or blanket on the beds, just fitted and flat sheet. There were no towels at all. I called down to let the staff know and then had to walk down and pick them up myself. The room had not been cleaned, even though we were told we couldn't check in 30 mins early because they were still cleaning it. The door had previously been kicked in and hasn't very secured. The bathroom door was one of those folding shutter doors with no lock. Bathroom was filthy. Big dining table for 6 but the only thing in the kitchen was a makeshift counter top with a tiny sink and a beverage cooler and small mini frigde. No cups, no paper towels, no ice machine to get ice from. For 2 nights, I paid $405, I would not recommend anyone staying here. A staff member told us that the owner knows they get horrible reviews but they don't care. Was told this when we had to call down to get someone to come kill the ants crawling around on the counter top. I was so disappointed. Please stay anywhere else. The pool was cloudy and has fake grass mat all around it with trash everywhere and I'm sure so many germs in that fake turf. There were no cushions for large loungers they have. I'd give 0 stars if possible. Not as portray

We stayed here for 2 nights as our halfway mark home from a trip in the keys. Positives: staff is very nice & it’s right across the street from beach access so you get that closeness without paying beachfront prices. Negatives … it’s more of a rundown motel vibe and the other guests tracked with that. Drunk parents with screaming baybay kids in the pool all hours of the night, the room was absolutely disgusting. And there are no blankets. Like, they only make the beds with a fitted and flat sheet. Never seen that before. All the furniture at the pool is broken. It does have an outside shower to rinse off when you get back from the beach so that’s good. It definitely needs a deep clean though. There is not kitchen in the unit so I was very surprised to find a frying pan in the bathroom but the more I looked around, the less surprised I was. lol.

Room was outdated with mold, water damage, and smelled like smoke. Neighbor smoked all night—awful experience.

The pool was dirty, my room was filthy!! Pee and poop stains on toilet seat the bed sheets had little spider, floor was dirty!!! The shower was dirty and the water doesn’t drain so you will be in a huge puddle of water!!! The smell in the room was horrible like mildew and cigarettes!!!

The room was absolutely disgusting and unsafe. There was mold in the bathroom & some throughout the room. There was trash all in the floor, my socks turned black just from walking around. Our door frame was broken and a hole through it where someone had broke in, in the past (it barley locked if it even did. i’m still not too sure if it fully locked) . There was dust buildup and dirt all on the floors and baseboards. Our lamp shades had some ungodly stains and the room had a horrid stench. Then through all that with picture proof all they would refund me out of $250 was $60 that I STILL haven’t received & probably will not. Also the girl checking us out that morning was rude and argued with me trying to refuse a refund for the nights we wouldn’t stay there. 0/10 do NOT recommend.

The biggest thing I liked about the banana peel lodge was that it was cheap and affordable. Everything was walkable. The beds were comfortable. The staff were nice. It’s just everything else that we had a problem with, cockroaches, bathroom, smells, dead bugs, and other places Pool wasn’t kept. Those were the main big cons that we had with this place. .

Hotel is extremely run down. Room was covered in sand including the bed. TV had wires hanging out of it and the whole outlet for the TV was ripped out of the wall. The shower was stained and also filled with sand. When I requested a refund the staff dismissed the idea and then continued to try to sell how great the hotel was. After working with Hotels.com I was able to get a refund for 1 night but as of writing this the hotel has not given me my security deposit back. I would not stay here unless it is absolutely necessary. STAY AWAY.

Pictures online were deceiving. The lady at the front counter was very nice and polite. We were allowed to check in early. The pool area and fire put are very nice. But the room was horrible. Room was very disgusting. Especially the bathroom. Floor was filthy. Shower was disgusting. No shampoo or body wash in the bathroom. 1 roll of half used toilet paper. The towels are very old. The bed was comfortable but the only give you 1 sheet on the bed. No blankets. The rooms are very poorly lit. I was only staying a couple days with a friend so i pushed through it but if i was with my wife i would have booked a completely different hotel upon seeing the room. I guess i should have known better judging by the price and location. Also location was actually good

Absolutely terrible experience. The floor in the room was filthy, and the sheets were either stained or just dirty. The blanket on the bed was as thin as a top sheet. The bathroom didn't have a door. We checked in and immediately checked out. The location was great.Although the staff was very friendly and offered a refund, the hotel itself was extremely run down. Even at a low price, it wasn't worth more than $30 a night.

For the price it was exactly what was expected. Older rooms, poor upkeep. It was clean, the outside area behind the fence was super cute. The location was great and the beds were comfortable.

The air conditioner operated like a fan instaed of air. Room was about 80 degrees the whole time. A gap at the bottom of the door did not help matter. One of the light switches wasn't attached to the wall properly. The room was clean.

The front desk worker was nice and let us check in early. It’s very confusing on how to get in and find your room as you have to walk down a dingy hallway to get in. The room was alright. The TV was a size of a computer monitor so I wasn’t a fan.. the only thing that saved the trip for me was how comfortable the bed was! Also. Make sure to bring your own comforter as you only get a top sheet, no blanket. Overall, it was alright just for the night but this wouldn’t be my top choice. Just thankful it was in walking distance to the beach!

I stayed one night till another reservation I had was ready since I arrived early in the area. I just needed a place to sleep. Be aware, check-out time is 9 AM. This is an older place that looks like it's been updated numerous times. The location is great, right across the road from the beach and near many restaurants and stores. The front makes it look a bit "divey," but there is a nice courtyard and pool. The lobby has a small convenience store and souvenirs. The clerks I dealt with were friendly and helpful. The ones present at check-out are trilingual (English, Spanish, and Portuguese), the same three languages I speak, so that was cool. The room I got was classified as for handicapped, and in the far corner of the property, first floor. However, while it is a bit more spacious to accommodate wheelchairs, and no door on the bathroom, there is no ramp at the main door, the sink was very high (great for a tall person like me, but not for those in wheelchairs), and I would not recommend it for anyone in a wheelchair. The room was very simple and clean with a King bed, an open place for hang-ups, a small TV on the wall, a couple of electrical outlets, but I did not detect WiFi in the room. The bed was comfortable with sufficient pillows but no blanket, just sheets. I would choose a higher end place if my wife was traveling with me, but for the price and a clean place to sleep, it was good for what I needed. The best part was the friendly staff.

Very spacious, comfortable king size beds, wine fridge and regular fridge. The floors were damaged and sticky. Liked that there were no carpets in the three rooms. No microwave or stove top, no closets. Rooms were not sound proof, very noisy day and night. Even smelled marijuana in our room from outside smoking from other guests. Toilet room too small, would have been better not to have wall around it. The controls for both TVs did not work well. Complimentary coffee. Pool & bar room.

The room was large. And clean. Beds soft sheets clean and fresh. God towels. Needed more lights. The toilet was wobbly, but I mean I'd gladly stay there again.

This is an old run down hotel that is scary. Several sketchy people hanging around outside the rooms at all hours making all kinds of noise. Every morning our room would fill up with marijuana smoke from outside. The room is just that one open with no door to the toilet. Room was not that clean and had no blanket or comforter on the bed only the top sheet. No soap or shampoo in the room either. TV did not work as well as the wi-fi did not work. The sheets were clean that is the only positive thing I can say about the hotel.

Very simple room for a terrific price. Across the street from large hotel, so short walk to public beach access and maybe 6-7 minutes to the pier. Next door to Pour, an amazing coffee shop. Weak WiFi signal from inside room.

Staff was friendly. Bed was comfy. Generally fairly quiet. Floors were sticky. AC was inconsistent, temp/fan fluctuated even though it was set to ON, so I kept getting warm and cold.

This is the cheapest room we could find so close to the beach. I wasn’t expecting much. The front desk employee was very accommodating. We were missing towel and blankets. There had a mishap with the maids. A couple other rooms were missing towels as well but the manager came later and restocked them. Our room was not swept but everything else seemed clean. There is no microwave but there’s a community one by the office. The outdoor space is nice, it had a lot of action going on on the front street but the community area felt safe. I’ve definitely experienced worse. But of course, better as well. For the price compared to the others is was what we needed, a safe place to sleep and shower.

2.5 hours late check in cause rooms were not ready and dirty, no towels in room, had to request several times for towels, internet was not avaliable. Room was still dirty when we got in and shower area wasnt clean very disgusted.

To be where it is so close to the beach at the price it was then I say awesome deal. They really make sure the no smoking is enforced. It wasn’t until the day we were checking out you had some nerd smoking the funny cigarettes and invading everyone’s breathing space. Others obeyed the rules and smoked in the proper areas.

I booked my room online. The hotel called 2 hours later and said they were overbooked, and that i had to call expedia to cancel and get refunded. Expedia told me it was a non refundable booking. I went to the hotel and asked for a refund. They refused. I was charged for an unavailable room, on christmas eve.

Its a no trill motel. The rooms could use updating. The staff are great.

The staff went above & beyond to accommodate us after an issue arose with our initial room. Clean, beds very comfy & convenient. Wish they had non alcoholic drinks in the store but overall we had a pleasant stay. Will book again

Couldn't sleep. Noisy at 1am -3am. Never got towels after I asked 3 times kindly.

All around great stay. Check in and out was seamless. Front desk members were friendly and great. All common areas were clean. Hotel has everything that you need.

Just It's close to the beach.

The pool was very green, and parking was very limited. Other than that, we actually had a wonderful stay! The beds were way more comfortable than some high end hotel beds. This location is conveniently located to everything you need.

Clean, Safe stay. Great location. Traveling with my two children and elderly mother. Nice place for Family or singles. Hope to be back in October for bike week.

for the rate its a ok places to stay, if you don't want to spent alot on the room . the room was big enough for 3 adults. No dresser to unpack your clothes and put them in. No coffee pot or microwaves in the room. They offer coffee in the lobby. would I stay here again yes, I would , we walk a cross the street to get to the beach. The pool was sad looking and we didn't get in in.

Banana Peel lodge was the perfect getaway stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the beer pong table and pool area. Staying at BPL was relaxing. We didnt have to worry about a crowded hotel full of your average PCB seasonal beach goers. The house mom was sweet and sassy like an auntie we all have. Loved our stay would be awesome if they had food.

There was stuff on the walls. It wasn't what we booked. The staff was really nice. We didn't get our room till 5 o'clock. And she said we could Check-in early at 11 and we didn't get it till 5 o'clock, but they did accommodate us. We were vacuees from Tampa area. So it was the only place we could get on the ninth. Everybody else didn't want to book us till the 11th. And we were coming to town late on the eighth to get away from the hurricane. All in all, we stayed 4 nights. They did cook us some hamburgers and hot dogs the next day after the hurricane and had some chips and soda and. All kinds of stuff for us to eatcompliment

If you are into cheaper rates, easy access to places, not so uptight and more low-key comfortable hotels then this is the place to stay. This is old school hotel (I personal enjoy hotels more like this). The staff is friendly especially the manager, she was fantastic woman. You are walking distance to liquor store, a coffee shop and one of the better bars in PCB (The Salty Goat). The beach is literally across the street. The only thing I recommend is bring a coffee maker if you are someone that drinks coffee before 7 am.

Small room. No phone, coffee pot, cups, bath cloths in room had to go to front desk and beg for bath cloths and blanket for bed. Bathroom didnt have a door! Front door had a 2 inch gap under it. Tv in 2 of our 3 rooms did not work. Pictures did not match motel, description said cafe and bar in resort, it did have a bar but nobody working it as it was just an abandoned bar and no food offered for sale. Very dissatisfied with rooms and service in general. Will never book at this motel again!
