Hotel Raices de Mar

My stay at Hotel Raíces de Mar completely met my expectations for a boutique hotel right in the Plazuela Machada. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was perfect! The small soaking pool was refreshing and I enjoyed exploring el Centro from the doorstep.

Lovely historic property right on historic district square with restaurants and shopping live music and events nightly Staff was wonderful and helpful and friendly. Close to center of everything in historic area a few blocks to large market and close to square with historic church short taxy to other areas and sights. Room simple comfortable and clean AC was new and worked perfect. Nice swim spa small pool..

El hotel tiene un concepto único y muy bien cuidado, cada detalle nos encanto mucho, los alimentos muy buenos, el servicio de todo el personal es de lo mejor, camas cómodas y climatizado. Volveríamos sin duda. El único detalle es el estacionamiento hay que ver muy bien los horarios de abierto y cerrado de los mismos.

We had to wait a day to get into our resort so I randomly booked at Raices Del Mar and hoped for the best! It was just what we needed/wanted. The experience on Plaza Muchado was incredible! We didn’t know we were in such a cool place. It’s historic yet has all the modern conveniences you need. The soaking pool was small but very refreshing! The restaurant was amazing. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The decor was fabulous and we Found something new every time we passed through! I am traveling with my adult children and we all found something to enjoy. If you want to experience downtown Mazatlan at its best, stay here! If you can’t handle late night noise(they provide earplugs) then don’t stay here. The partying does go into the night but was not a problem for us!

No hay agua caliente para bañarse ni estacionamiento. El desayuno muy rico y personal muy amable

Such charm! We have always enjoyed the Machado, and were happy to be able to stay here. The property is artsy and beautiful. I had the small pool all to myself every day.

Had an amazing time October 2022. Boutique hotel so no elevators but the entire hotel is beautiful with lots of character. The plaza directly in front of the hotel is filled with vendors. I read reviews on the noise at nigh, this is due to the hotel surrounded by restaurants that host live bands, so it was quiet enjoyable.There is also overnight security so that made the stay feel safe. The beach is 5 minute walking distance and the hotel restaurant is delicious ! Would love to return !

My husband and I enjoyed our room. It is not for older people because of all the stairs. Just an afterthought.

Nicely kept property with open-air interior giving it a jungle feel. The small kitchen serves great food and margs. The staff is wonderful. We stayed on the third floor and there isn’t an elevator, so be aware as the stair climbs are a bit tiring. We would stay here again.

Inernet and tv didnt work and sheets were dirty

Property is very clean. Breakfast is fresh and delicious, coffee is strong and always freshly made. Personal is very accommodating and polity. They have good internet conection with smart tv. The pool is small but beautiful and very calming with amazing sculptures There is plenty of restaurants and coffee shops around. The malecon with a lot of people around is beautiful and is very inspiring to see everyone exercising and enjoying the natural beauty and amazing views

The staff were super welcoming and friendly from the beginning. We arrived early but they had no problem letting us check in at 1 pm. The room was clean & anytime we needed extra towels or anything the staff was quick & efficient. The gentleman recommended so many fun things to do around the hotel. The hotel is open with a lot of beautiful scenery. I would definitely stay here again.

This quaint hotel is in an amazing location. Located in the square of El Centro, it’s super close to restaurants and bars. While it’s not a luxury hotel, it’s just what we needed for our stay. Great staff, beautiful grounds, and clean comfortable room.

this boutique hotel is quaint, you walk thru registration in an open air patio. It's historical, smaller rooms and bathroom but worth the experience. its in middle of plaza machado super fun on weekend nights with entertainment at various corners. short drive to malecon. Easy 5 minute walk to main mercado and church. fun area. DON'T use "pulmonias" they are pricey, or get quote in pesos per hour BEFORE you agree. Taxi to mercado was $50 pesos, pulmonia was $15 USD per hour!!!

The hotel was very quaint, authentic Mexican decor with an artist’s twist. Very beautiful. Bed was comfortable and our room was plain but had all of the basics. Washroom was small, step in shower was great. Only one bath towel each was provided and there were no hooks to hang anything to dry. Hotel was renovated so I’m not sure if this is something that hasn’t been added yet? We visited during a quiet time in Mazatlan. Old town was busy at night and the square was active with a nightly market. We found it noisy in our room. Due to the open courtyard of the hotel, a lot of noise came in off the street. Our room was on the second floor, across from the “little” pool, not far from the open kitchen, which was just across, below us. The kitchen staff came in at 6:00. I was woken up both mornings by the noise from the working kitchen and what I perceived to be a radio. I discovered on our last day that it was the lady who worked in the kitchen singing. Music to the ears and lovely, just not mine at 6:00 a.m. There was also some sort of what we thought was sanding going on later at night and early in the morning? We didn’t have the air con. on at all as it was unusually cool during our stay, so possibly the air conditioner would have blocked out the noise? We ate our dinner at the on site restaurant the first evening. We felt that it was expensive and just o.k. “Poncho” the young man who looked after us during our whole stay was just wonderful and very attentive to our needs.

This hotel was beautiful! I love how decor was. Let allowed us to check in way earlier then the actual check in time which was amazing. We did get the room with the small pool right outside so there was alot of noise because family with their kids were swimming and making noise even around night time. The restaurant in the hotel had very good food was really nice but i did not like the service. They took a while to attend us and I had to remind them that we were waiting and there was only one table with a family and us. It took about 40 minutes to get our food but thankfully the food was good.

The staff where very nice and very accommodating to all of our needs . Right when We arrived the front desk came out and helped us with our luggage. Very politely and fast check in . The hotel was so beautiful and nicely decorated. Very urban and colorful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and give the staff a 10 for service .

I had to stay a couple of hours after checkout time to attend an important videoconference, the manager was kind enough to waive the extra charge.

I didn't like much. The staff was rude. When having breakfast, for which I had to pay for because it was not included with the room, I asked one of the attendants for sweet bread to have with my coffee. She told me that if I wanted bread I had to go to the bakery and get it. The bakery was one block away, so I left my coffee at the table and went to get the bread. In addition, the night that I arrived, I was given the wrong key to my room, instead of room 55, I was given the key for room 65. What a pain. All of this for $92 USD not including breakfast. What a pain!

Staff, service and amenities are great. Security guard is fantastic. You can tell this staff loves their job.

Katia, Samantha and Elena made me feel very welcomed. They always had a smile on their faces and were very attentive. The location is perfect to see the cultural side of Mazatlán .

It was convenient to everything which was nice. The room was clean maybe a refrigerator would be nice. Also we checked out at 7:30 am and no one around had to leave keys on desk.

Hice una reservación para 4 personas en la cual al momento de reservar se daba la opción que al llegar se le podía pagar por una persona extra un monto de $166 al llegar a tratar de hacer el check in nos comentaron simplemente que no se podían meter más personas y que estaba lleno por lo tanto no podían hacer nada ,algo totalmente incongruente por qué por algo lo ponen al momento de hacer la reservación, no nos dieron ninguna resolución ni nos ayudaron ,simplemente comentaron que nos podían conseguir estancia en otro lugar cerca de ahí y que el gerente iba a ir a hablar al otro hotel ,cuando llegamos el otro hotel no tenía idea de que pasaba y nos dieron un precio mucho mayor al que teníamos reservado, en conclusión simplemente no te dan soluciones terminamos pagando mucho más de lo pactado y tú viendo suerte ya que nos podías haber quedado sin lugar para dormir.

Todo bien, excelente ubicación, no recomendable para gente que no le gusta el ruido, ya que esta en plaza machado

Todo excelente, elegí este hospedaje principalmente por su ubicación, ya que quería estar en la plaza machado y de ahí poder desplazarme a varios lugares que quería conocer incluso caminando y fue una gran elección, sus alrededores están preciosos, como un pueblo mágico precioso, muy cerca está la iglesia y el mercado Pino Suárez y también pudimos llegar caminando a la casa de Pedro Infante y a la playa de olas altas, el hotel por dentro también es muy bonito, el desayuno que incluye es pan, café y fruta pero todo está muy rico y muy bien servido además ofrecen otras opciones a la carta de desayuno, la habitación muy limpia y cómoda, con smart TV y aire acondicionado. Lo recomiendo mucho.

Hotel location is great, in the center of cultural events and great restaurants and entertainment

The place is nice and clean. If you want peace and quiet this is not the place for you. Other than that it is in the perfect location in historic district.

Our four nights at Raices Del Mar was a highlight of our two weeks in Mazatlán. First, the staff was so friendly and welcoming. Our room was great. There was some weekend noise but nothing intolerable. The food was wonderful, too. Can’t say enough about this hotel!

Staff very friendly and helpful. Some bilingual. The decor is awesome and the interior restaurant space as well as exterior restaurant spaces really great. Delicious food!

The staff here are amazing, very attentive. The food is amazing, the red chilaquiles with beans are so good tastes homemade. The hotel itself has a lot of character as well, feels very safe and it’s walking distance to the beach and restaurants
