The Social Hub Amsterdam City

Quite a ‘funky’ place but in a good way with very helpful and friendly staff, great on location facilities. The room was small but had everything I needed and a great view over the urban cityscape. The Metro is on the door step and quick and cheap into central Amsterdam. The area felt safe and quiet - there is quite a large road in front of the hotel but I never heard any noise from it. Would certainly book again if I go back to Amsterdam, great value and location.

My stay at The Social Hub was an unique experience. The vibe is of a modern a hotel with a heavy lean into a co-working space and a social hub. Main clientele feels aimed towards digital nomads or younger travellers looking to meet people. The location is excellent, with a metro stop right outside that gets you to the central station and all the main sights in just a few minutes. My room was compact but clean, and had what I needed. The highlights were the facilities (laundry and gym) (You will need their app to use the laundry however it is free to use), multiple bars, a café, a breakfast buffet (at a cost), and plenty of spaces to work. The staff were helpful. It’s not a traditional, quiet hotel, but if you want a vibrant, well-located, and a place to stay and work, I would recommend it.

This place is spectacular!!! So amazing!!! I wanna go to every social hub on the planet. Great room, great food, excellent service, friendly staff, great gym, walkable and close to Metro. All around spectacular!!! Thank you Social hub Amsterdam!!!

Comfortable hotel, located within a coworking space making it very hip and convenient. You can easily rent bikes, access the Metro, get a cup of coffee at any time, play games, hit the gym and access the laundry. The space in the rooms can be better utilized, we had quite the large room and could have fit a two people sofa and a chair easily apart from the bed. Reason for 4/5 stars is simply because it’s not as centric and takes around 15-20 to make it to city center.

You may take a few minutes walk to reach the metro station and take around 15 minutes to go to the Amsterdam city centre. The hotel is clean and staff is helpful. They also provide co-working space and free self laundry service to customers.

Amazing modern hip hotel to stay in Amsterdam. We loved how modern this hotel was with all the amenities. So useful to have free laundry services! The room was spacious and clean! Very close to the metro station to get into center of Amsterdam. Great customer service and would definitely stay here again!

SUCH a cool spot. We stayed for 4 nights and it was a great base for our stay in Amsterdam. Onsite bike rental option turned our stay from excellent to phenomenal. Rooms and facilities are clean and comfortable and the space is really cool and hip-feeling. Its not far to restaurants and the city either via foot, bike, or public transport.

Loud construction going on every day, starting before 8am. Rooms were small and bare. Toenails found in the mattress. Cupboards covered in finger prints. Remote/blinds caked in dust. Disappointing stay.

We stayed at this hotel during our trip to Amsterdam and overall had a pleasant experience. The location was excellent — very close to public transit and supermarkets, which made getting around the city very convenient. The room was clean, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. However, there were a few drawbacks. There was no phone in the room, so we couldn’t contact the reception when needed. We also had to check out very early in the morning (around 3 a.m.), and unfortunately, there was no staff at the reception to assist us. During our stay, I also had an unpleasant surprise — while walking in the room, I stepped on something sharp and found a sewing needle on the floor. Thankfully, it didn’t injure me, but it could have led to serious consequences. I even took a photo of it as proof. This incident suggests that the cleaning could be more thorough. Despite these issues, we enjoyed our stay overall and appreciated the hotel’s convenient location and good service.

Gute ÖPNV Anbindung, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe. Alles in allem ein angenehmer Aufenthalt, aber: - Sauberkeit könnte besser sein (z.B hat der Gang ausgesehen, als würde hier kaum gesaugt werden) - Zimmer ist ziemlich klein, es gibt keinen Nachttisch - Unpraktische Dusche, kann nicht geschlossen werden, zwangsläufig spritzt man fast das ganze Bad voll - keine Vorhänge, nur Rollos, damit kann das Zimmer nicht vollständig verdunkelt werden Ansonsten hab ich mich in dem Hotel recht wohl gefühlt.

I cannot dislike a hotel more - first thing first, this is by no means a 4 star hotel. Despite its rating on all of the websites saying it’s 4 stars, it is not. Going to summarize in bullet points: - AC is locked at all times (says it goes down to 18 degrees but that is not accurate. It probably goes down to 23 degrees max) - the building is also a Coworking space and the decor / layout was giving hostel + wework - the elevator area is dirty and dusty but at least it’s quick (thank god) - the room is SO incredibly dusty, like you can see dust GLISTENING under the light on. House keeping does the bare minimum - they don’t replace all the towels (but sometimes they’ll throw you an extra lol), don’t clean used cups, don’t vacuum at all (hence the dust). I called front desk to complain in order to get a vacuum service. I just don’t understand why they do so little and why is it so inconsistent. - shower moldy and bathroom smells like bad plumbing With all of that being said, my bf hates to complain so we stayed there the full 4 days (with a little extra help from front desk and house keeping). The staff was fine, they weren’t unkind, just didn’t do much- I just wasn’t expecting this type of service at the pricing I paid (could’ve gotten actual 4 stars service at some boutique hotels similar distance to city center) If you’re expecting a hostel I think you’ll be happy with this place lol.

Rooms were very clean, excellent service. Very close to metro you could go anywhere in the city in minutes.

Das Hotelzimmer wirkt im ersten Moment gut, aber im genauerem hingucken bemerkt man, wie verstaub bzw. dreckig manche Stellen sind. Auf dem Bett waren ebenso sehr viele Fussel, auf den Türen gibt es eindeutige Hände/ Fußabdrücke, das Badezimmer hat fast an jeder Stelle irgendwelche Flecken bzw. Unsauberkeiten. Leider gab es auch die ein oder andere Stelle die teilweise extrem abgenutzt/ beschädigt war. Ich finde das Preisleistungsverhältnis stimmt auf keinen Fall.

There were two problems with my last visit, the team on site do not let you get on with the self-check-in/out- if they only offer to assist that would be fine but they take over the process and you feel stupid or incapable of completing the task yourself - when in reality this was the third THS I stayed in the last four days - Secondly - The room i was in had an infestation of bed bugs, as i woke up in the morning i was covered in bits - when i mentioned it the reception team on my departure it was dismissed as mosquitoes IF i left the light on and a window open - Yesterday my head, back and arms were full of bit marks - which need to go as I am getting married on Saturday

The food options??? There was very limited. The breakfast was mostly continental and few hot options. The bed was comfortable but the bathroom was mouldy and the toilet bowl had a really dirty hugh brown stain at the bottom toilet bowl, we reported twice before anyone came yo really try and give a clean. Customer service was horrendous no attention yo detail. Transportation is brilliant just purchase a metro card and live is easy from there on. Internet access is great all over Amsterdam free and fast.

The restaurant/bar is really nice and serves an amazing buffet breakfast but is a bit pricey if not included with your room (~€24 pp). Whilst located outside the city centre, the Metro is right outside and very easy and convenient for travelling straight in to the city centre in less than 10mins. Unfortunately we didn’t sleep well, we were in a ground floor room (despite requesting a high floor) and there is a strange loud banging noise every day from around 6.30am. I’m a good sleeper but it woke me up every morning of our 4 night stay and I couldn’t get back to sleep. We encounter the same problem during our last stay but returned in the hope we would get a higher floor room (which we’d hoped might be quieter) or that the problem would have been resolved. Really sadly it means we probably wouldn’t stay again which is so disappointing because, as I said, we love everything about it. Such a shame. Great hotel with fantastic amenities and easy transport options. If you want a quiet room best to avoid.

The evening meals, chefs specials were fantastic. The air conditioning unit would not go below 21 degrees Celsius, they changed our room and still unable to control the temperature myself. It looks like they have capped it at 21 degrees. In August with temperatures outside over 28 degrees Celsius we had a very hot and unpleasant nights.

It’s a nice hotel. The rooms are big and the bed is comfortable, the location is good it has a metro station near by and you can walk to the city center if you want. There are some minor details that can be improved like the glass door of the bathroom which is too small and everything gets wet when taking a shower.

An sich war das Zimmer gut, gab aber einiges was einen auf den 2. Blick dann doch erheblich gestört hat. Klimaanlage konnte man nur an oder ausschalten… egal ob es einem zu heiß oder kalt war. Dusche war danach das ganze Bad geflutet, weil klein und keine Türe Und das Zimmer war allgemein super merkwürdig geplant (Steckdosen da, wo man niemals welche braucht, Wasserhahn, der nicht ganz aufgeht,…)

Reasonable prices. On-site coffee excellent! Didn’t like the non door on the shower…made entire bathroom wet.

Construction starts at 8am. Very noisy. Room is just ok but for the price it’s fair.

Great location and initial experience but the room was hugely disappointing. Way too narrow that you cannot easily pass the bed. Spoilt my stay especially since other rooms of the same type seemed much more spacious

The property was great and the breakfast very satisfying. The room is clean and comfortable. The staff are great. The in room climate control was inadequate to cool the room to our desired comfort level

Very nice staff. Hotel is modern and clean. It is a mix of students’ union meets hotel. New rooms which were well done but very narrow - less than 30cm between end of bed and wall so could be tricky for larger people or those with mobility issues. Good selection for breakfast of continental and hot food. Lovely bowls of berries

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly, the amenities were top-notch, and the location was perfect. The only issue was that the room was too hot, even with the AC turned on. The temperature didn't go below 18°C, which made it a bit uncomfortable at times. Other than that, everything was fantastic and I would definitely consider staying here again.

Set up is for very social situation with loads of students around, but all ages seem welcome. Good location right near a metro stop. Rooms were adequate, clean and comfortable. Coffee machine, kettle and mini stroopwaffels provided. Staff were great - I managed to hurt my back during the stay and the team were super kind and helpful, including extending my stay, grabbing pain meds from the pharmacy and offering to obtain food and other assistance as required. Super grateful for their help.

Lovely stay with a metro station right outside that takes you into town, what more can you ask for. The staff were wonderful and very helpful when they noticed a language barrier.

Horrible property.. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. I am 61 and have traveled the world and have never experienced such a lack of regard for a guests comfort and well being. My wife and I picked this hotel during the recent warm spell because the listing states it has air conditioning.. we settled in only to find the room was not cooling at all.. we contacted the front desk who stated they would send an engineer to check it out. No one came so four hours later we called again and were basically told “to deal with it “ and a very large extremely loud fan was dropped off.. since this a non-refundable reservation they had us over a barrel.. we spoke with the staff several more times over the next week and our request for fixing the air conditioning were ignored. Stay as far away from The Social Hub because: 1. Amenities are not as stated 2. Room was not clean and had large marks on walls 3. Far from downtown on busy street 4. Staff was condescending 5. Expensive for location 6. Restaurant and bar were just below mediocre

Nothing fancy here, but the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the Metro Station was right outside the door... 8 minutes to Centraal Station! Also, 2 other trams, so you're covered. Staff was very nice and helpful

The Social Hub Amsterdam seems to be far away from the center BUT it isn't: just 3 stops with the Metro and you're in the heart of the city. And the Metro station is right in front of the hotel. That's just perfect. It was obviously an office building but is all reconstructed and quite new. The rooms are nice and clean but a bit cold/impersonal, the hotel facilities are good (the staff of the restaurant is friendly, but not really professional), the food is nice. Overall 4 out of 5.

The Social Hub is a great place to stay if you’re coming into Amsterdam for some sightseeing and going to an event at the Ziggo Dome. Located about half way between the main canals and the stadium, you’re right on the metro line which takes you to either in a matter of minutes.

There's also a metro station right out front, plus tram and bus options. The hotel has two restaurants, with more dining choices just a short walk away. A grocery store across the street was also super convenient. Overall, had a great stay here and would recommended!

Really enjoyed our stay at The Social Hub. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was good and very clean. Enjoyed the bar and restaurant and was close to city centre. Train just a couple of minutes walk away. Highly recommend.

Grande chambre, décorée avec goût. Salle de bain agréable avec des produits de qualité. Isolation parfaite. Le lieu de vie de l’hôtel est très agréable et le petit déjeuner est parfait.

Lovely hotel with superb staff! It’s a 1 minute walk from the metro station and 21 euros for a 3 day pass to get back and forth to the heart of the city, if you’re a little younger/fitter it’s only a 20 minute walk into the centre. Rated good instead of excellent as the dining area is a little small and we were turned away for an evening meal as they were too busy, that said there are other options close by for meals

Fantastic breakfast brunch, really good, the bed was so great and the staff friendly. The place is booming with life, and the metro and trams are right next door. Perfect place for business, pleasure and couples. We will for sure come back next time.

I was very happy with the room and amenities of the hotel and the room itself, excellent stay. My only complaint is the Social Hub restaurant had poor service, often being out of menu items and would not notify you until ten minutes after you ordered (this happened multiple times with different items on multiple days). Overall though an excellent hotel, I would for sure stay again.
