The Starlite Inn

Brandy was absolutely amazing, very informative and helped us out a lot about what was happening and where to eat . She was actually one of the very best parts of our stay , she went above and beyond , The only thing missing there was an ice machine. Other than that there were no complaints about anything. There were 4 of us girls that went and we felt completely safe there and when we get back together again we will definitely book at the Starlight Inn ! Thank you so much Brandy!!

The Starlight Inn is a nostalgic motel that is a quick, easy walk to the beach. It has off street parking up front, and easy access to dining and basic shopping, all within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay.

The room wasn't clean, the ac was filthy and has a smell. AC filter needs cleaned. Paint on the bathroom floor is peeling, wear sandals in the shower. Location is great. Parking good. Well lit. Easy check in process.

The location was perfect. Right across from the boardwalk and a block from the beach. The room was nice and clean. The bathroom and shower was very small. There wasn’t a microwave. It did have a nice small refrigerator that worked good. Could see the fireworks from the balcony of our room. It would’ve been nice to have a pool. But all and all it was a nice place to get away and relax.

Staff are very friendly. Check-in is easy and contactless. Room was ready on time. Great location near restaurants, beach and some shopping. The floors need to be cleaner, and the bathrooms are clean but need a vent, outlet and aren’t not visually that appealing. Bed and seating is great and there’s a little drawer space for personals. A safe would be a good addition since it’s a resort area. You can rent beach umbrellas, lounge chairs, bikes etc. right across the street too!

Had a great one night stay , only issue was unit 4 had a slow shower drain , when showering . Other than that everything else was great ! Walking distance to beach and restaurants . An ice machine would be a great add to the stay . I would stay there again : )

This place is so cute! I love how it's been redone, and the location is perfect. We were a one-block walk from the beach and close to tons of restaurants and coffee shops. I liked that it had its own parking lot so we didn't have to worry about street parking. The room size was perfect, and it was nice that there were so many streaming services on the tv. The bathroom is a little small, and the hot water took a little while to kick in, but neither of these things were enough to make me not want to come back. Highly recommend this place!

Can't beat this location! Easy to check in, friendly staff, cute room and very accessible to board walk, beach, dining, etc. Appreciated the access to use the pool from the partnered location. Great stay for a weekend.

Overpriced motel. The location is good and everything is newly painted and in very good condition. The room was small. There are no amenities on the property. There was a surprise $50 fee for a dog and a$3 resort fee. No pet friendly amenities- for $50 they could at least give you pet waste bags, a couple dog treats. It’s a nice place but not a good value.

I LOVED staying at the Starlite Inn! The management is great at communication - they gave me all the info I needed for an easy check-in and check-out, and checked with me over the weekend by text a few times just to make sure I didn't need anything - super responsive. The room was so cute and just perfect for what I needed, and the parking felt safe and was easily accessible. The location is great - right across the street from the Carolina Beach Boardwalk, so very easy access to the beach and other restaurants and shopping. My only recommendation would be to bring earplugs for sleeping, because this hotel is in the middle of a very popular area, and there were a lot of people out and about on Saturday night. I would absolutely stay at the Starlite Inn again, and I highly recommend them!

The shower is really terrible, they’ve painted over tiles so therefore the paint is peeling off and just laying in chunks on the shower floor. Water pressure was okay. There are extension cords everywhere, things are just daisy chained together, luckily it’s a concrete building. No microwave in the room or exhaust fan in the bathroom so it feels like a sauna in there.

We checked in early for a fee, opened the door to the worst stale cigarette smell, the bedspread had another persons hair on it, the shower floor was peeling black paint, the AC unit had a red caution light on it because the filter had not been replaced. Underneath the sink was a stain that looked like someone had thrown up, the rug that was a border to the bed was so dirty that we had to keep our shoes on, and as I was sitting on the bed I noticed through the large mirror that other guests trash was still under the bed. Also I found 2 small dead roaches. We left, tried to contact Expedia about the condition of the room with no luck. I’ve contacted five on our side about this issue. The pictures say it all. I also have phone numbers for the other out of state guests who couldn’t go home but we’re absolutely sickened by the condition of this property. I hope I never have to stay in something like this again!! I spent over $499 for two nights and conditions were so bad that I’d rather leave than endure them.

The rooms are updated with very cute decor. The desk manager went out of her way to help us with various requests. It is conveniently located to the beach boardwalk, restaurants, etc. However, there was dust in corners and hair on bath tiles. The room is very small. The bathroom shower was paint over tile, and the paint was chipped in large chunks. When new batteries were put in the door lock, our key codes stopped working.

We like that it was walking distance to the beach and some shops. I did not like that there was no on site staff or night phone service and that the windows were all street level, so we had to leave the shades closed unless we wanted people to see in. The room looked fairly clean, but it was apparent they do not sweep under the bed.

I had a great stay at the Starlite Inn. Everything was neat and clean. The staff was helpful and extremely nice when I needed help! The only downside is the tiny shower. Other than that, the updated property is beautifully done. I loved being in walking distance to the beach and boardwalk restaurants. Without question, I'll be staying again in the future.

The room was in a good location but that was the most positive part of the experience. It clearly had not been cleaned (we found a huge hairball in the shower) We did not receive any clean bedding or towels during our stay and the mattress pad had a huge stain (afraid to guess what it was from) Would not recommend this hotel

This is my second time staying here and I love it so much. The location is prime, and the rooms are cozy and updated.

The room is very simple and cute. No frills and clean. However, you can hear everything from the street and the bars around the motel. It was so loud, even in November. I can’t imagine how loud it would be in the high season. The mattress is like sleeping on plywood. It’s a short walk to the beach and restaurants so if the noise and hard mattress are no big deal, stay there!

Bed was uncomfortable. Shower was small and drained slowly. Overall, the room served it's purpose, it was clean and it's in a great, convenient location.

The perfect lil stay. Right in the middle of all the action. Loved the music they had play for us when we arrived, only thing I'd change, is adding a microwave to the room

Staff were very nice. Hotel is in a great location to walk to many restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and to the beach/boardwalk. Room is small, but very comfortable. Only complaint was that the ceiling fan was very dusty and the top of the window needed to be dusted. I would definitely stay here again though.

The room was super cute and retro. Short walk to public beach access, restaurants, shops, and live music. Room was cozy and the bed was very comfortable. Loved the bench outside each of the doors. Will definitely return.

We LOVED the Starlite. It was such a cute stay for our honeymoon. The only thing we would change is we wish the room had a microwave. For a weekend stay where we ate all of our meals somewhere else and frequently had leftovers, having the mini fridge was fantastic. But if there was a microwave or some way to heat up our food it would’ve been absolutely perfect. Otherwise the stay was a 10/10. Can’t wait to come back 💕

This place is a true gem! It’s one of the most affordable motels in Carolina Beach, but that doesn’t mean it’s not fantastic! It’s extremely close to the boardwalk and beach access. Recent renovations have made the rooms beautiful and themed to the beach. I only two complaints; there’s no microwave, and the shower head is a little low on the wall. If you plan ahead, or don’t usually care about microwaves, it’s okay! And, while I’m 6’1”, I made do with the shower just fine! I’ll definitely be back again; this motel is perfect for a weekend getaway!

Could not see ocean at all but an easy walk to see. Loved the room. Small but perfect.

Decent place and convenient to the boardwalk!! No staff on site when I was checking in. Was texted with door code about 3:30.

Booked the room for four people almost 5 months in advance and only had 2 towels. We had to wait 4 hours to get additional towels. Our door lock battery died so we could not lock the door and the staff said they would fix it while we were at breakfast, which they did, but they did not lock the door when done so our room was unlocked for an extended period of time. Towels and comforters had stains and there was hair on the floor upon our arrival. Bathroom floor is painted black so it hides the filth. Mattresses are very comfortable and the location is great with everything in walking distance.

Poor communication from the property. Because the office isn't staffed all the time someone was supposed to email the check-in and room info the week before but I didn't hear nothing from them unit the day of. This is after several attempts by me and Expedia. When after cancelling within the window they still charged me 1/2 the rate.

We were impressed with Brandon, however still waiting for a response from him regarding hotels.com's email. The 1st half payment is required before hotels.com will allow a hold/reservation which its great that we didn't have to pay the total upfront. But hotels.com stole $240.02 because when I went to pay the remaining $240.01, Lisa (an employee at the property) proceeded to tell me she never received the $240.02 payment from hotels.com so I had to literally pay the entire $480.03. The attitude of hotels.com employees are horrid because even after my rep acknowledge the app requires1st payment (1/2 of the total) prior to moving on to the final steps in the booking process, hotels.com employees felt at ease of having stolen, kept, & told me I had to get them a bank statement to show them what they already knew. Now, I had already attached my receipt proof of my initial $240.02 payment & the property's document showing it didn't get my payment. Hotels.com still gave me orders for more proof. Remember though....hotels.com's protocol is to stop booking process unless payment is received. So The Starlite Inn made me do all the work providing proof, calling, effort, while they were happy that we paid them the full amount we were on our own to get the refund back from the company it is using as its booking partner. Lisa acted as though the property washed its hands of us when we paid $720.05 for a 2 night stay is $480.03. Refund my $240.02 hotels.com I'm 80 & worked on my vacation.

Perfect location, nice remodeled rooms. Easy check in and communication with staff. No traditional front desk, but there was usually someone there during the day for anything we might need. Will definitely stay again!

Awesome little place for a good price. Close walk to the beach and boardwalk. 2nd time staying and will be going back next year.

Charming hotel in an excellent, walkable location!

Property is an easy walk to Carolina Beach and food and coffee options. We were only there a day, but I really liked how we could park the car and walk to most anything we needed. We even drove down to Ft Fisher for a quick trip! Our stay was at the end of August, so crowds were light.

Graet location to everything. Good customer service at the front office.
