This property is very old but well kept...a lot of character for sure but lots of stairs...super clean...beautiful view from lovely terrace on top that you can relax on...BBQ on....very comfortable beds....great location!!! Would def stay again....Mike & Marguerite are sweet hosts but very little English....they tried hard to please us 😀 Only 3 min walk to ferry!

Very good budget hotel with comfortable rooms. Excellent central location in Playa Norte. Room had everything we needed: good bed, fridge, dishes, cutlery, air conditioning, ceiling fan, hot water, chairs on balcony, view to the water across the street. Rooftop terrace was a nice extra for reading in the shade or tanning. Very happy with this hotel!

Muy bien el alojamiento, muy céntrico, limpieza excelente, lo único que tienen que mejorar es que sale muy pica agua en regadera y no sale rápido la caliente, el rollo de papel es insuficiente, por lo demás todo muy bien y recomendable para pasar unos días en este lugar.

Great location. Bed was reallt nice and AC was great. Rooftop views are insane. Very very poor water flow. Barely a trickle. Stairs up to hotel and unit are very very dangerous so be aware if you are limited in mobility. Most rooms look at a building that is being built but my unit number 11 had crazy ocean view right from the bed. Unit is small but doable. Cooking is out of the question. Price was goos

Staff here is above & beyond excellent, just keep in mind they are Spanish speaking only. The entire hotel is scrubbed from top to bottom every day and is spotlessly clean. Location is great, but the stars of the show are the two rooftop decks -- great breeze and nice views. Full-sized fridge kept our beers ice-cold, aircon worked very well, and for the price point this place is very hard to beat.

There was cockroaches in my first room, so they moved me to a new room. The new room had black mold on the pillow covers which were replaced. I got sick after sleeping there one day had to move to a different hotel. I've stayed here in the past with no issue. This time was different.

The property was nice. The room was ok just to stay for a night but we stayed in the lower floor and it was the last room where the was place to wash or do some cleaning and smelled bad. It smell like sewage.

Place was in very good location. Close to ferry , beaches and all. The room was a bit dark and bathroom smelly. As soon as you get close to the hotel you can smell it from outside to the second floor. If you can pass the smell it’s an ok place to stay for the price

The first room we were assigned the refrigerator did not work and the kitchen and living area were very small. The hotel knew about the problem with the refrigerator so they agreed to put us in another room for the next 2 nights. The second room had a larger bed and a better kitchen layout but the kitchen sink leaked. The drain hose underneath was broken. It appeared the pipe had been fixed prior and it broke again. We informed the manager of the problem on Sunday afternoon and he told us someone would look at it manana. We asked for a bucket so the sink would not flood underneath. The sink was unusable as a result of the problem. No one came to fix it the next day. So we never had a working sink. The view from the top deck was the selling point for this place but repairs are not kept up on. For the price we paid I would expect things to work properly.

Ya había estado en este hotel antes y me había parecido bueno por el precio. Ahora cuesta más del doble de mi primera visita y no hay mejoras en instalaciones o servicio. Cosas buenas, todo está cerca, tienen trastes, refrigerador y estufa. Tienen una terraza con buena vista el la parte superior del hotel. Lo malo, la cama no es cómoda el colchón ya dio lo que tenía que dar, reservamos en cama queen y nos dieron matrimonial más individual dicen que no tienen queen ahí, la persona de recepción entro a la habitación poco antes de que saliéramos y nos pidió desocupar la habitación media hora antes de la hora marcada de check out pues la iban a utilizar lo cual no fue incómodo. Esta bien pero si podrían dar más por el precio.

Basic rooms with everything you need including a mini kitchen, pretty big fridge, plates, one pot one pan! Even a blender!!!! Was nice to not have to eat out all the time! The upstairs deck is amazing!!!!! 360o view!! It was pretty quiet considering the location close to everything.. super nice folks running it and decent price! Totally recommend!

Good location. Air conditioner did not work for 5 days. (Was given a $25 discount for this) Reserved a family room and was given a very small room that an extra bed was added, 6 days later was offered a family room but didn’t need it by then, tried to tell them but they didn’t speak English. Just not a great experience.

A cama era boa, mas o quarto parece uma caverna, muito escuro, não tem ventilação direito. A recepção cheirava mal… localização boa. Mas só fiquei uma noite e fui procurar outro lugar com mais conforto e muita pouca diferença de valor.

The property was dated but very clean and comfortable. We were put into a room w/a double bed but had reserved a King in the Honeymoon Suite. Fortunetly, the room next to us became avail after the first night and we were able to move. There are a LOT of stairs to deal with but the location is super close to beach, shopping and nightlife. The view from the rooftop patio was spectacular and comfortable. The owners speak min English but were very accomodating to our requests. We enjoyed our stay.

Have stayed here a few times, many things are broken and not working in room, no hot water, seems they never have the room I booked, also find it weird how they wanted to keep my passport, I don't think I will be back, them holding my passport was weird, as others mentioned it's next to a sewage plant. Other than that the staff is always friendly and it's close to everything. If you are on a budget and just need somewhere to crash this is a safe spot that is central.
Have stayed here a few times, many things are broken and not working in room, no hot water, seems they never have the room I booked, also find it weird how they wanted to keep my passport, I don't think I will be back, them holding my passport was weird, as others mentioned it's next to a sewage plant. Other than that the staff is always friendly and it's close to everything. If you are on a budget and just need somewhere to crash this is a safe spot that is central.

Al llegar al hotel el recepcionista insistía en que solo tenía una habitación registrada en la reserva cuando eran dos, le enseñé la confirmación y le dije que entendía que no coincidían y que era un error de la agencia o el sistema probablemente. Más que buscar una solución, el señor se empeñaba en demostrar que yo estaba mal, lejos de tener disposición me dijo que hablara a la agencia y que aparte no tenían más cuartos. Dejamos el lugar ya que nunca sentimos que tuviera intención de ayudarnos, eso si, quisieron cobrar de inmediato lo de una noche. Jamás recomendaría el lugar ya que al llegar luce más viejo de cómo se ve en las fotos y un tanto descuidado.

Good location. Air conditioner did not work for 5 days. (Was given a $25 discount for this) Reserved a family room and was given a very small room that an extra bed was added, 6 days later was offered a family room but didn’t need it by then, tried to tell them but they didn’t speak English. Just not a great experience.

Staff was wonderful, they even let us check in early. The room was old, need a badly upgrade. The price I paid wasn’t worth it. The taps on the sinks was awful, they really need to be replaced. The roof top was out dated and the stairs was so narrow we were afraid of falling. This building really needs a good upgrade. Not worth the price. Location was great.

The tenants had a party on the property which was next to our room. Loud music until 3am, talking loud, and hanging around the 1st floor hallway making it dangerous because they were not part of the hotel guests. The owner/manager did not answer his phone and the office was closed.

Very good budget hotel with comfortable rooms. Excellent central location in Playa Norte. Room had everything we needed: good bed, fridge, dishes, cutlery, air conditioning, ceiling fan, hot water, chairs on balcony, view to the water across the street. Rooftop terrace was a nice extra for reading in the shade or tanning. Very happy with this hotel!

This is not a beach front property. It's very nice place to stay in El Centro, with a short walk to the beach. You don't need a golf cart , you can walk everywhere you need to go.

We have stayed here before, so we are familiar with hotel and area. The only reason that we give a 4 star rating on area around the property is that the hotel is sandwiched between buildings. The hotel is walking distance from the Altramar ferry and is easily accessed from the beach and el centro. If Sol Caribe has availability we will book again!

The views from the top rooms was amazing ! It was a bit of a hike to the top floor and terrace but worth it once you got there. Room service was exceptional. Great location -close to the beach. The water pressure was very low but satisfactory. We would stay here again.
