Nice 2.5 star hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Pool and jacuzzi are nice. Rooms are avg size with some rooms having large walk in showers and others having tubs. Very convenient to snowbird/alta, Brighton and Solitude.

Night staff is rude, doesn’t want to work, and just sits at the front desk. An older lady who works at night yells at people in the pool for being there 20 minutes before it closes, runs over and shuts off the hot tub timer and demands everyone leave. She stayed the hot tub needed maintenance anyway and nobody should be in it. If that’s the case, it should be shut down. She also consistently doesn’t want to help with towels or anything else. She sits down on an office chair in the doorway and does nothing. Other staff during the day was great, but she needs some training!

Very friendly staff and nice facilities with a gym, indoor Heated Pool and Hot Tub. Rooms were clean and updated with mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker included. Complimentary hot breakfast. Very close to Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons. Would definitely stay there again.

Our room was not fully cleaned. There was a used towel hanging in the bathroom, old food in the fridge, coffee items were not restocked, lots of hair on the bathroom floor and the hairdryer was missing. The front desk staff was responsive and addressed these issues, but the room should not have been checked off as being ready for guests.

New property that was in general good shape. Mobile key check in didn't ever provide me a digital key until I had already went to the front desk despite checking in well ahead of time. Access is easy off the freeway with Google Maps lane directions helping get us there without hassle. Near Fashion Place and Murray with shopping, dining, and Trax stations. While not overly abundant with options, breakfast was good. While being brand new, the HVAC unit in our room was loud requiring running the TV at high volume to hear it. It was surprisingly to have such a low rattling unit in a new build. Also there was a left over sandwich from who knows how long left in the fridge that housekeeping hadn't ever checked or removed. Would have given it five stars other than the sandwich and overly loud AC unit.

It was alright. Pros and cons. Pros: Check in was quick, breakfast was kept stocked, TV had streaming capabilities, and the water pressure was decent. Cons: We paid for a King, but when we checked in they pulled the "oopsie daisy we somehow sold out of those, here\'s a double queen." Which is always a touch annoying. The beds were pretty stiff The pillows were either flat rocks or fluffy air that your head fell through. The smoke alarm had a blinking LED that lit up the room at night, and it blinked every 5 seconds. And the blanket, because there was only one per bed, was too small for two people to share, so eventually I had to hop into the second bed so that my wife could roll over without stealing the blanket from me. Pretty average hotel experience, but I never enjoy not getting what I paid for, kinda lame.

The rooms were clean and well furnished. The power window shade was a cool way to let in light while providing privacy. We loved the microwave and fridge. The beds were a little firm, but nothing that a sleep aid didn’t fix. We were impressed with the room and hotel in general. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. Great stay!

One of the noisiest places we have ever stayed in. Our 2nd floor room overlooked a very busy intersection (Highland and an Interstate exit). Noise at all hours. The breakfast buffet was good with different selections all three mornings. It is far from the city center, but in a nice neighborhood.

We made two back to back reservations when we realized that we needed to extend our stay by three days. The woman checking us in on Dec 20 went out of her way to lecture us on what a problem this was for us since we had booked with Expedia. On Dec 27th the young man at the desk was outstanding, checked us out and back in to the same room with a « no problem » approach. Thank you to that desk person for outstanding service ! Our total stay was ten days and they have a very good buffet breakfast. If you are a coffee drinker, be aware the coffee is not a strong suit( so weak you could see the bottom of the cup ). We’ll stay there again.

We have stayed here before. It is always excellent. The staff from front desk to breakfast to housekeeping are all friendly and helpful. To me an easy to use television controller and a good selection of channels is important. It is good here. We will be back

We had some difficulties checking in. There are some areas that need attention (training staff, attitude towards guests) but after four nights, we can say we enjoyed our stay. Shannon the manager was pleasant to deal with.

Tried to check in at 3:00 pm. I was told the only room available at that time was on the first floor & if I wanted a room on any other floor, come back in an hour. The next person behind me checked in and was given a room on the fourth floor. He may have been a Bonvoy member but so am I.

We have stayed at this location twice now. The first time it was recently opened. The newness still is here with well kept property inside and out. Good beds and everything works well. Breakfast is kept fresh and the selection good. However, our recent trip soured me on considering this location again. The room was booked well in advance and we arrived two hours after check-in time began. I had a tight window to check in, get tidied up after travel, then get to the event that brought us to SLC. Unfortunately the room wasn't ready and it required waiting in the lobby for another 20 minutes. I ended up not arriving at the intended time for our event due to the rooms not being ready until 2.5 hours after check-in began (that was 5:30pm). Very disappointing. While the clerk was apologetic no other compensation or concessions were offered either. Two other parties also appeared to check in while we waited for our room, perhaps two queens versus a king.

There was no hair dryer in the room which is usually a basic item supplied. When I contacted the desk they were very indignant saying I must just not be looking for it in the correct spot. I asked where that spot was and informed them I had looked there among other places and it was not there. They promised they would bring one to the room but it was never provided and they brushed it off when asked about it upon check out. Not very impressive in the customer service area.

The fact that it was a new facility made it very nice and clean; however there were areas that were not attended to like in the elevators. Several times the floor in the Elevator 1 was dirty and housekeeping should be more attentive to this. First time guests will not be very receptive to this. Marriott is a big name in the hotel industry and I believe the breakfast served at this new Fairfield should live up to it's name. Biscuits served with the sausage patties were very tough; there should be a way to keep the biscuits fresher; the Bold coffee was very weak (coffee in the room was far better). I realize it's a new facility and the kinks need to be worked out. Elevator 1 specially needs attention and I'm sure this was being attended to. Overall, I did enjoy my short stay and I hope that the facility will get to the point where it will live up to the Marriott name and prestige. Rates are a little high especially for Seniors who are on a fixed income. I certainly will not be able to stay there more than two nights. Staff was very cordial and accommodating at the desk.

Tv service was all night. They did not have any eggs for breakfast. The worst part is in stead of owning any of it they blamed it on vendors. They said they only had 24hrs notice which is plenty of time to find eggs somewhere.
