Hotel is very nice! This was my 2nd stay and I was very pleased with it. Hotel location is perfect if you’re going to an event at the Van Andel Arena. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. The only downside is the parking garage. It’s often full and you’re not guaranteed a spot in it even if you’re staying at the hotel. $30 per night for the parking garage. Other than that, this hotel is great!

Beautiful location conveniently located to restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. The hotel had its own ramp which was nice but could get crowded if the hotel is full. There is a cost but worth it for the convenience. Hotel was clean. Pool was nice for the kids. We stayed on top floor and the city views were spectacular. If you're used to the quiet of the country or fan sounds, I'd bring something to accommodate as the city is lively and when its not all too quiet. No big deal if you have something to drown it out. We will stay again should we go back.

My only real frustration with this facility was it was difficulty even get to the lobby. You had to take a elevator just to get to the lobby and there is like when you came in the entrance. There was like very little direction. There was no welcoming staff when you came in from either of the ground levels, you just had to figure it out to get to the lobby first it just felt like you were stumbling the room was fantastic this facility. The people were fantastic. I think they could use a welcoming liaison to make people feel welcome What sucked though I came down with a truck and a trailer and there is nowhere for me to park and they didn't have an area anywhere that they could even suggest that I park , reserve some parking on the street for guest with oversize vehicles or maybe request upon reservation

The only problem was the pool. It was freezing. Everyone wa a in it for 15 mina then they would leave. Even kids thought it was cold. This was the main reason we booked this hotel so we could swim inside. So we were disappointed

This location was great for walking to local restaurants and across the street from Van Andel Arena for concert goers. Room was very nice and had a great continental breakfast. The parking garage for an extra $30 a night is worth it. It also has a sky walk from garage to hotel.

Very pleased with my stay. The Manager upgraded our room for being members which was a pleasant surprise. Quiet room, very comfortable beds. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Parking garage is connected by a skywalk which felt safe and secure. Two restaurants below the hotel and walkable to many points of interest such as Van Andel and Intersection. Small outdoor patio area with a fireplace and ample seating. Complimentary breakfast was delicious. Overall I would stay here again!

Really enjoyed staying here. Easy to access and parking was fairly simple (just called as we got close). LOVE the two restaurants connected. Close walking distance to a lot. Really pleased and will stay again!

Super clean, well maintained property, very nice staff, excellent rooms. Bed and pillows were comfortable and parking was easy. The breakfast in the morning was delicious, with lots to offer- one of the best breakfasts I’ve had at a hotel, and offered lots of options. Great downtown location, walking distance to many restaurants, the VanAndel Arena and lots of other cool things to check out.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The gentleman at the check in desk was very nice and professional. The breakfast was really good with a nice variety of breakfast items, and the coffee was really good (for hotel coffee). We recommend this place.

Everything was really great! Front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful with the mix up about the room, but she changed everything without no problem. But the room wasn't the cleanest though the refrigerator was not clean and the bathroom vent didn't work. And the couch had stains everywhere and didn't look the best to sit on. Other than that it was the perfect location and very convenient for what my family and I needed.

Check in as quick and friendly. We also had great service when we couldn't pull the shade down in the bedroom to go to sleep. We called the front desk and they sent someone quickly, and the issue was resolved. The only thing that bothered us, in the morning my friend ask if my bed smelled. I told her no. She said her's smelled like body order. So I would just suggest the cleaning staff ensure the bedding and mattresses smell fresh after every stay.

Great stay at the Residence Inn Grand Rapids Downtown! The location is perfect — right in the heart of the city, close to restaurants and entertainment. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was lovely and clean, the only thing I had an issue with was the state of the pullout couch. It was easy enough to put together with the bedding and all, but there were a lot of sharp parts near the edges that could be a danger to guests. Case in point, I scratched my leg on the couch climbing into the bed at night, bad enough that the cut is still healing a week later and I'll probably have a scar. Fortunately I can trust the cleanliness of the room as the wound did not get infected, but I think it would help if these beds were checked and maybe sharp bits were sanded down.

Convenient, clean, modern, no complaints. We were upgraded and had a kitchen with microwave, huge fridge, dishwasher, dishes, etc. and amazing city view. Located right next to Van Andel where our show was. I can’t think of anything that would have made it better. Parking was $30, but the ease it brought made it worth it. Breakfast was good. Layout of hotel was convenient. Safe. All good.

The parking situation is unusual. Very confusing for a senior to figure it out. We parked in a garage across from the hotel, but found out that it was not the hotels parking structure. After lugging our bags across the street from the parking lot, I asked about compensation for the cost of the parking lot that we parked at, we were told we’d have to move our car to a different parking lot and they would cover that cost. Check in was supposed to be at 3. we were told there was an incident and that it may be a little bit later. when we arrived at 3:30 we were told that the room is still not ready, and they didn’t know when it would be. Again we weren’t offered any compensation for that, in fact when I asked if there would be, the customer service agent asked “who would be compensating you” Maybe I should’ve looked more closely at the details of the hotel and asked more questions about parking. This was our first time visiting Grand Rapids and it was a very busy time. The hotel was very clean and our room was very comfortable. We loved it. I think that the check-in agent could’ve been more empathetic and could’ve offered compensation for our inconvenience.

Right across the street from Van Andel Arena, perfect spot! The only thing I didn’t like was our check in experience. Two gentlemen were in front of us and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful to them, explained breakfast and even upgraded their rooms. Then we got up and she pulled up our reservation and became very short with us. Handed us our key cards and said here’s a paper with breakfast and other details as well. We booked through Expedia and I feel this is why we were treated that way, she wasn’t as inviting as she was to the prior guests. Other than that it’s a great place!

Passing through while on a road trip, so our stay was short, and a place to rest our heads. Our only concern was that after driving for 12+ hours, all we wanted to do was check in, shower, and sleep. Unfortunately, we were delayed because the receptionist was locked out of her system. The receptionist told me I would have to return until the person on the next shift arrived, since she couldn’t get in. This was a significant inconvenience since we were tired and wanted to check in. We were able to check in close to or past midnight, which took about 30 minutes while we were waiting. Maybe its a best practice if there is a manager or someone of authority to be available at all times to resolve this type of concern and delay in a guests stay. Other than that the room, was clean, Nice, and wonderful. They also offered complimentary breakfast. FYI, this is a college town so, be ready to see and hear college kids while walking around the neighborhood. Parking was extra, but luckily we found street parking and we saved the $50 that we would Have spent on parking.

We arrived at 3 pm, posted check-in time. Our reserved room (mobility friendly room) was not ready and would not be ready for 30 minutes. We did not have time to wait, they gave us a standard room. The representative handling our check in was unprofessional and rude. An apology and a friendly smile would have gone a long way for our inconvenience. Neither were offered.

We were in town for the Mercy Me concert across the street. JONATHON was VERY helpful upon our arrival and throughout our stay. He is the outstanding kind of employee that you certainly will want to keep! He is the reason we will keep coming back! The hotel was in an area where you could walk to many museums, restaurants, or parks. The downside is that means it is loud at night. We were on the 4th floor and could hear people talking on the street and the traffic noise late into the night. There were many events going on at the center across from the hotel so the traffic at dinner time was insane.

We stayed here so we would be close to Van Andel for a concert we were attending. FANTASTIC location!! Just a block and 1/2 away. There are also several different restaurants within walking distance. The free breakfast at the hotel was astounding! I have stayed at several different hotel brands, and this was by far the best breakfast with the most extensive options.

Breakfast was poorly stocked considering we were down there at 9am, which isnt close to the ending time. There were no options left so for choosing a hotel and ensuring it had breakfast this was disappointing. They werent even working to restock it was like a trickle and there were about 10 other families waiting for food as well.

This property is in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, surrounded by amazing restaurants and unique shops. The staff is extremely polite and helpful. The rooms are quiet; I would have not known that anyone one else was in the hotel had I not seen them in the lobby or on the elevator. They make the best scrambled eggs I've ever had at a RI! I highly recommend this hotel. I will certainly stay there again the next time I return to GR to visit family.
