Initial impressions not good. I knew no parking on site, but drop off area chaotic. Steps to entrance and more steps and long way to lift (not sure how disabled would cope.) However staff friendly, room ok. Comfortable bed, decent breakfast and nice views of bay outside

The chef and the floor staff in the hotel restaurant should be complimented on their food, appearance and attention to detail. Just amazing keep up the fabulous work. The bar and lobby entrance sharp and sophisticated , I must say a special mention to the front bar with view over the bay. The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed and decorated. For those with fur friends - there is a doggy wall of fame

Sorry to say I felt incredibly ripped off here. The decor was shoddy, the mattresses lumpy, the service lackadaisical. Litter and only instant coffee available in the room. Oh, and residents, incredibly, have to pay to use the spa which when you are paying over £200 a room is not what you expect.Good value is hard to find on the west coast of Scotland in August but really, I wish I’d gone to the Premier Inn.

What a lovely hotel. Stayed for 2 nights to celebrate my brothers birthday. We used the thermal spa experience. Great to use the outside hot tub. Very friendly staff and personable staff. Great value for money. We're definitely going back. There's lots more to see. Thanks you to everyone who made our stay a memorable one

Very dog friendly & reason for booking. Lovely view from verander & front conservatory seating. Short drive to Ganavan Sands which is a lovely sandy beach with loos & a catering van. Comfortable bed & decent shower. There is valet parking but I didn’t book it & glad not to as it’s only about 4 spaces in a small area behind main hotel building. Voices of people speaking there carry very loudly to bedrooms overlooking it. There are a couple disabled spaces & a couple of charging spaces only at front. You can park whilst unloading luggage. Otherwise hotel recommended the free parking behind the scout hut behind the cathedral a short uphill walk away. I parked there for a few hours & so little space to manoeuvre to get out that I didn’t bother again. I found that after hours parking in a space about 100 meters along seafront is free overnight. By putting in my card I discovered it only cost me 20p to park until 910 am next morning. I couldn’t find a way to get the completely free overnight ticket but I think wardens don’t start til 9am anyway. Hotel food was great quality. We had afternoon snacks on the outside veranda, a lovely evening meal & breakfast in the conservatory restaurant. Dogs are ok everywhere in public areas except the grill room. Really v dog friendly. Wld recommend for dog owners.

Quick overnight stay. Hotel was extremely busy with an event going on. Massive crowds of people while trying to check in all through the lobby and bar area. Did dine in and instead of being in the normal restaurant area we were in the area behind the bar overlooking the water, this was fabulous- view and sunset were beautiful. Food was excellent. Hotel is dated and needs some freshening up. Room was ok but toilet was not clean in our room and carpet was gross. A room near ours had room service tray on floor outside of their door when we went in after dinner and it was still there in the morning, this was disgusting and some liquids had spilled over the tray onto hallway carpet. Would not stay here again if in the area.

We were at room 35. Arrived late and took a shower and went to bed. Woke up an hour later, with horrible smell of sewage. The whole room smelled horrible. Slept with the window open and escaped in the morning.

Beautifullly situated hotel with amazing views over the water with lovely seating area to enjoy the scenery. Small, but comfortable clean room. Delicious breakfast served in no time. Upon returning to our room after a long day of viewing the beautiful sites of Mull and Iona we found the room had not been serviced. When we inquired we were told the "do not disturb" sign was on our door. It was not! We asked for a fresh supplys of coffees, etc. It took three trys to get it. The worst part was the staff was argumentative about the do not distrub sign. It put a damper on a beautiful day.

We really enjoyed our 2 day break in this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is lovely and spotlessly clean. The veiws from the lounge are beautiful. My only disappointment was the breakfast, everything else was perfect.

Totally unsuitable for a person with a disability. Too may stairs, very small rooms. Bathroom so small knees touched the shower doors when sitting on the toilet. Lift has doors that close too quickly. My husband would be half way out, walking with a walker and get hit by the doors despite my efforts to keep them open. Beautiful views from the front but we were in the back over a car park. I had asked for accessible room and was not told they had none.

Well, there was no valet, no interest in helping us check in, it was 10pm, no parking, no valet at night or in morning, told me where free parking was, a block away in an alley, I discovered, but no directions, no substantive help with directions to elevator, buttons don’t light up, and first floor has a down button only, ordered 3 sandwiches, asked if I’d come get them, no chips, no silverware, no tray, no napkins for in room dining, just 1 plate for the family, in morning the hallway was strewn with piles of dirty laundry, breakfast folks were nice, but all the other staff sighed a lot, wasn’t helpful, not what we expected for the amenities described online

The receptionist on arrival was unfriendly never smiled. The room had a dirty carpet and was not cleaned to a high standard. It felt like someone had quickly gone over the surface but it needs a deep clean. It had very little parking which was a problem. On the positive side we had a great view of the bay and the breakfast was good. It was ok but for the price I expected it to be better

There was very limited parking, and receptionist wasn't very helpful to recommend. In fact, receptionist wasn't very engaged. Meal was excellent, and loved all of the different sitting areas available.

Just spent 2 days at the Oban Bay which turned out to be the highlight of our week on the west coast. From arrival to departure everything went perfectly well. The staff make this hotel what it is. Friendly , attentive to your every need and always with a smile. The restaurant and its food are excellent. Service --perfect! Five stars all round!!

It was comfortable and the dinner and breakfast was lovely. We had a dog and while the hotel was welcoming, our room was a very long way from the exit and also very small to accommodate a dog crate. Parking at the hotel is non existent unless you pay £20 per night for valet parking, which for a 4* hotel is unacceptable. In addition, the check-in process was painfully slow. Only one person on the desk and dozens of visitors waiting. The restaurant staff were mostly very nice, but some were quirky and over-familiar. Not a great impression for a 4* hotel. The breakfasts were excellent and the French toast, bacon and maple syrup with the addition of vanilla ice cream was certainly a first for me and surprisingly delicious!! I would happily return for another break in the future.

Beautifullly situated hotel with amazing views over the water with lovely seating area to enjoy the scenery. Small, but comfortable clean room. Delicious breakfast served in no time. Staff were friendly and professional and their uniforms were so smart. Highly recommend this hotel, we’d definitely return.

Very overwhelmed staff and difficult to park Not good vibes. The front is a beautiful view. We had to go downtown for breakfast. They said they had tour groups coming in and 7 and 10 were the only times available for breakfast~ turned out to be false. Lots of steps to get to lift. Room was very dark and too small of a bathroom.

I was expecting more from the property off the listing on Expedia. The rooms where Ok. They need updating. The staff was just ok as well. Not real helpfull but not rude. The bartender was good. The food was just ok as well. Overall I would give it a 3 of 5 star.

On check in the Valet parking service turned out to be "Park it yourself on a scruffy plot of land behind the boy scout hut 200meters from the hotel" . Great service in the rain!!! Told breakfast not included so paid the extra fee --then told we couldn't have breakfast between 7.30 am and 09.30am. Having booked 3 months previous I expected some customer SERVICE. Non existent. Will give this hotel a miss next time.

Stayed one night and had the car valet parked. The car was on time in the morning. Pub in the hotel was excellent and our breakfast was just right. My first time at the Oban Bay Hotel. I used the valet parking service for my car which I found very helpful. There is a free car park nearby though if people prefer. The evening meal I ordered in the bar was lovely and I had a view of the ferries coming and going. I wasnt able to book in for the time I wanted for breakfast which was a shame but I appreciated the breakfast to go they arranged for me so that I could catch my ferry to Mull in the morning. The room was really cosy and quiet. I appreciated the Tunnocks treats left in the room for me too. I had a great night's sleep. I wouldnt hesitate to book again in the future. The staff were all very helpful and friendly too.

Perfect! So glad we booked here!! Great location, lounge areas to eat, drink, and enjoy the view. We also enjoyed the view from our room. Very clean rooms with space for 2 people. Food was so-so. 3 of us ordered medium rare steak for dinner and all three steaks were cooked well done. Other than that, it was a perfect vacation.
