Downtown Newport Penthouse on Thames

We had a great stay! Parking was easy and free. Matt, the host, was very responsive and gave great restaurant and beach suggestions. The apartment was airy and modern with plenty of sleeping options for our party of 6. The area is very walkable with lots of great places to eat. We would definitely come back!

We all loved our stay. The location was fantastic, very comfortable apartment (especially the beds!) well equipped kitchen and very nice bathroom. Highly recommended!

The property is nice and in close proximity to mansions and downtown. Clean and well maintained and good for a group of 3 - 4 people. Bathroom is really nice. Only downside is that it is on the 3rd floor so if you are bringing a lot of personal items and/or are a heavy packer it is a lot of stairs to lug things up.

The Place was very clean and in a great location, and easy to walk to everywhere. However it was a little small and it only had 1 bathroom which was difficult for a family of 4. Also the apartment was on the 3rd floor and carrying our French bulldog up and down the stairs 3-4x a day was a challenge. Also the locks on the front door and apartment door was very tricky to open and lock. The host Matt was very nice.

This place was perfect for our mom’s away stay. Plenty of space. Perfect location - walking distance to shops, restaurants and spas. Easy communication. Super clean. Super comfy. Nicely stocked kitchen. Will definitely come again!

The condo was spotless. Everything that you needed was available, including coffee, tea, cream, sugar, stocked kitchen and bath. I would definitely recommend this place.

Love the apartment and location. Parking can be an issue but we did find solutions so not a deal breaker.

Impromptu getaway to the Newport area and this ‘Penthouse on Thames’ was perfect! It was our 2nd time staying in a Yachting Village rental. It’s a great location for enjoying all that Newport has to offer. It was exactly as described. It was bright, clean, well stocked and a good space for our family of 4. Hope to come back for a longer stay next time!

Overall the place was great. Just need some cooler air conditioning in one bedroom and a much more thorough vacuuming as our socks were well covered in blonde dog hair! But we are dog lovers so we get it! Owners were wonderful to work with and answered our questions so quickly. Good luck!

There were four of us that stayed the night to celebrate a 50th birthday. The place was away from the loud, crazy downtown but very near to shops, cafes and restaurants. It was the perfect size for the four of us. Clean and cute and comfortable! We would highly recommend a stay here!

Awesome location! Walkable to shopping and restaurants. Nice big open floorplan - lots of natural light! Perfect set up for our stay! Prior to check in we received a very detailed welcome book w/ all the information we needed during our stay; check-in/check-out instructions, etc. We had trouble w/ the code getting into the unit (our fault) and Matt responded within minutes. We had a great weekend and worked perfectly! Highly recommend!!

The PH was very clean and presented well. However, there were no black out blinds so everyone in every room were woken by the sunlight first thing in the morning.

Had a wonderful stay at this 2-bedroom apartment for a birthday trip with my siblings! The location was perfect—close to great restaurants and the spa. Plenty of beds so everyone had their own, and the space was comfortable and well-equipped. Would definitely stay again!

Lovely stay right on Thames, walkable to tons of bars, restaurants and shops. Also walkable to the Newport Cliff Walk (.8 mile, if that's walkable for you). Solid beds with comfortable mattresses in both bedrooms!! Clean apartment with beautiful decor. We'll be back!

Nice apartment for a couple or small group. While the bathroom was small, it was nicely done and had a spacious shower. Living room was bright and airy, and the management team was extremely responsive.

This apartment was perfect for our family of 4 for a long weekend over Easter. The apartment was very clean and well appointed. The second bedroom has a double bed and a single bed which I think is different than the 2 singles listed. Which was perfect for my 15 year old who was not looking forward to sleeping in a single bed! Lol! It’s located in the more quiet end of Thames Street. The location is great for active people. Easy 15 minute walk to Bannisters and Bowens wharf and the more lively end of Thames street. Also, only a 30 minute walk to the mansions if you’re willing to do it. Parking was easy since we stayed in the off season. Spots right in front of the building. I’d assume in season it would be a little more difficult. Matt was very easy to deal with and answered questions right away. The only cons is the mattress in the queen room is very soft. Still comfortable but if you are used to a firmer mattress, this is not it. The sink in the bathroom is a little small and kind of hard to wash your face or brush your teeth with the huge faucet jutting right out over it. And if the 2nd floor apartment is using the washing machine, it shakes the whole place during the spin cycle. Not a deal breaker though. All in all a great stay and we would definitely stay again if we come back to Newport.

We loved this place for a quick Newport getaway midweek. Walkable to great shopping and restaurants. Matt was super responsive and answered all our questions quickly. The place was very clean and neat. The bathroom is super cool!! Thanks for your hospitality, Matt!

The Penthouse on Thames Street is a cozy place close to shops, eateries, and local historic sites. The hosts are great and responded quickly. We would recommend this getaway spot.

This property was perfect for a quick one night getaway with friends. It’s extremely close to downtown Newport and we were able to walk to dinner and back with ease. Highly recommend!

Our group of 5 were very happy and comfortable during our stay at this condo. The listing is accurate and the accommodations are pleasant and comfortable. The hosts have clearly worked to make renting this property easy and enjoyable. It is a bit outside of the downtown area, but not a bad walk on a nice day.

Perfect location to walk to mansions and downtown!
