Overall a good experience but expensive compared to other similar quality options. Breakfast was good, room was very clean and a good size, the rooftop bar and pool is great although using a temporary entrance. Sadly a few things didn’t hit the mark - the gym is very small and outdated, dumbbells only to 10kgs. The pool area lacks towels and service in the morning. In the evening, it was really nice until around 11pm when the music turned to very loud EDM and made conversation impossible, even with only a handful of people.

Spent New Year’s Eve at the hotel the hotel was lovely, room very clean and staff friendly and welcoming, Sky Bar roof top pool had amazing views of the city, however the pool was difficult to get in and a lot of surface water made the area slippery. The staff did turn the lights off while we were still in the bar area finishing of our drinks and we had to walk down the emergency stairs in the dark while the proper stairs are being refurbished. Was scary.

Banging and construction noise in the surrounding rooms every morning. I complained, but two days later they were at it again. The conference room is used early with loudspeakers and music — the rooms have zero soundproofing. If you like staying out late and sleeping in, good luck. The sky bar only opens in the evenings, so you can’t even enjoy a cocktail by the pool during the day. No clear signage out the front, making the hotel hard to find both day and night. The toilet kept blocking up. Staff don’t speak very good English, which made ordering room service and basic communication pretty difficult. 1 star — would not stay here again.

We got upgraded to the suite because the room we had booked was no longer available. The suite was nice, but in 1st floor and the walls were paperthin so it was quite noisy. Staff was super helpful and service minded. The hotel could use a renovation. We had mould in the shower.

The location was great in walking distance to the big market and many restaurants . The room we booked was small i did not see that in the ad. The rooms not sound proof and the bath/shower pours water on the floor around the toilet. But jaide and the staff and doorman so friendly and helpful. We had a Garda room. You can imagine the surprice, because there wasn't any windows! Hotels com. informs that there is blackout curtains, but where? We managed to get better room by paying some extra. Shower mixer was also broken and I'm sure it still is.

The hotel has the most welcoming staff we have ever experienced, always willing to help with anything. The rooms were also extremely spacious and comfortable with good air conditioning. The breakfast buffet had lots of great fresh options. The location is also perfect for the city, walking distance to any of the major attractions and has convenient stores/pharmacies nearby. First time I stayed at this hotel and found it to be best location for a hotel , staff were very helpful , the information/ concierge lady , I think her name is jade was so helpful with everything… even helped me with visa processing for another country . Highly recommend this property

When we got to happy life the reception was full of people and it took them quite a while to come and tell us we did not have our 2 rooms that we had booked It was obvious they had over booked even though they were telling us there was a water leak in one of the rooms. We were moved to another hotel and the property did not have a roof top bar and restaurant like Happy Life. The room was very small and not as good as the one we had booked at Happy Life. We are very dissatisfied with this outcome. Chan is the lady who was given the job to deal with the situation and she was very nice. Not her fault it had happened. We also saw other people that had also been moved to the other hotel. I took a long time researching and picking Happy Life. I have never complained or been unhappy about any room we have ever booked. But this was a disgrace

We booked through Hotels.com a double and a triple room for our family. One day before arrival, the hotel cancelled the triple room, I contacted the hotel and asked if all was okay, and they confirmed that nothing was wrong. Upon checkin we were informed that the triple room was cancelled and that it was cancelled due to payment issues. We were offered to make a new booking online, but there were no room available for last night. We were recommended a neighbour hotel. The hotel could not do anything more about the problem and gave us names to hotels in neighbourhood. It was confirmed that it was the hotel itself that had cancelled the triple room.

We have been in Viet Nam for the last three weeks and we loved staying at this hotel the most. The location near Ben Thanh market within the district #1. 10 minutes to walking street Bui Vien. 2 minutes to the nearest metro station. What we love the most is the amazing staffs who went above and beyond to make sure that we feel comfortable. Shoutout to 1) From the reception: Trixie, Jade, Jason,Toan, Kane 2) Restaurant: Johny and John. 3) Binh, the maid on the 2nd floor. Thank to you all who made our trip to Saigon is a memorable one.

I enjoy my stay at Happy life grand hotel very much, everyone here were wonderful and very attentive. The breakfast buffet was full of variety many selections of foods. I especially like t thank Trung he tend eggs station he can make you any style if you want you can have omelette over easy anything and he always serve with a smile. And everyone was so wonderful. I would highly recommend this hotel if you want to be close to everything especially the Ben thành market.

Staff are super friendly and helpful. Location wise perfect for Bui Vien Street and Ben Thanh Market. The free afternoon tea was a nice touch but the things on offer not so much as they catered towards a western palette, would have been good to see more Vietnamese food on offer. Breakfast was also not so good as food was luke warm and some people took so much food and wasted so much that it left nothing for others. The sky bar was dangerous to get up to as most of glass was broken on side of stairs and pool was so poorly maintained and super cold. Towels on offer were also old. The live DJ and music at night as a result meant it was so noisy at night, given that we've stayed in places right next to Bui Vien St and heard nothing says it all.

Hotel is perfectly located within District 1. It’s a little more dated than its marketing suggests but more than comfortable, breakfast was good without being outstanding. What did make it amazing however was Jade, she went well above and beyond each and every day for us, her hospitality and want for us to us to have the best experience was some of the best service I’ve received anywhere in the world. A shout out also to Chuong on the front door/security who was always extremely friendly and helpful. Well worth the stay just for those two staff alone. Well done Jade, I hope the hotel knows just how valuable you are as an employee.
