Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Lake Charles - Sulphur

First they tried to say I didn't have a room b/c I requested a King bed and all they had was 2 queens. Then they told me they could book me in another hotel and I said I would rather not. So after a snotty comment about the vehicle I drove they informed me the elevator was broken and my room was on the top/3rd floor (no problem, just here to sleep). On my way to my room there were several rooms with no locks or deadbolts, trashcans in the hallways, plywood and insulation stored in the breezeway. My room had one bed with clean sheets, one with stains. There was a giant blue stain on the 'dresser' and rust all over the ironing board. If I didn't care about my back hurting I would have slept in my car. Terrible all the way around.

I was disappointed with my stay. While the staff was friendly and did their best to help, the condition of the room was unacceptable. When I entered the room, there was a noticeable unpleasant odor. The bathroom was in poor condition—the bathtub was dirty, there was no shower curtain, there was no body soap provided, and the shampoo dispenser had been ripped off the wall. These issues made it difficult to use the bathroom comfortably and gave the impression that the room had not been properly inspected before my arrival. we were pressed for time for an event and left with 30min of arrival, so these items weren’t noticed until 11:30pm when we returned to the hotel, and after a very long day of travel, we juts went to bed. I do want to recognize the staff for being kind and professional. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much they could do beyond providing extra towels, and they were unable to resolve the underlying maintenance and housekeeping issues until next morning when we were already checking out. I hope management addresses these concerns by improving room inspections, housekeeping standards, and routine maintenance. The staff deserves credit for their positive attitude, but guests should not have to overlook basic cleanliness and missing amenities during their stay.

I thought ending breakfast at 9 is way too early. I did love the super chargers though.

The staff was great and very helpful, but the hotel itself is run down despite being fairly new. The floors are uneven, the rooms are poorly maintained, and the bathroom in my original room had a ton of rust. The deadbolt was broken and I ended up asking to be moved to a different room. The staff was very accommodating but the sheets were stained in the new room. Was expecting something a little nicer from a Marriott-branded hotel
