It was a hole in the wall, trashy, ghetto hotel. Pool didn't work. Hot tub didn't work and the jacuzzi in the room didn't work

The pool and spa were down. This is also in the hood. Normally I don’t care about something like this but someone was murdered right outside our window at 6:30 in the morning.

Old. Pool is terrible. Hot tub doesn't work. Breakfast was cold cereal and a waffle maker. That's it. No eggs. No coffee. Terrible

The parking lot was covered in trash. It's only steps away from a busy thoroughfare. Lots of construction nearby. Surrounded by abandoned businesses. Strange smell throughout the property. The detail about the hotel having a functioning pool is an outright lie. We did not stay and were refused any sort of refund. STAY AWAY.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!! This place was awful. We will never stay there again 😖. Also, don’t plan on using the FULL pool because it’s “leaking” and “broken”, but they won’t tell you that for the reservation until you are there. They said we would receive a discount due to facilities being down and did not receive that either. The grounds are disgusting, unkempt, and the whole place is ‘watching you through a two way mirror with hidden cameras’ vibe.

Went for pool and hot tub, both closed, continental breakfast waffel and cereal with toast, could of been worse, they did have clean rooms, and staff was very nice. I belive it should of been off expedia pool,hottub.and limited breakfast, the area is not so great around hotel

The pool didn’t work, it was a dangerous area, tv was not working all the time and the channels were limited, beds were not comfortable. I wouldn’t stay here it’s overpriced and gross

Bed was really comfortable and housekeeping was good. The hot tub was down during our stay. But noones fault as they were waiting for the part in order to repair.

The pool and hot tub closed for months. Not updated on app. Cigarette burns in linens. Ants in bathroom. Screaming all hours of the night. Heavy smell of drug use in rooms. Mold smelling

It was a very nice place on the inside, only problem with our room was the bathroom door was extremely hard to shut and when it was open it would hit the toilet. They only offer a small tube of shampoo so don’t forget yours! Breakfast was good, had a variety but if you’re a pancake lover like my family, you’d have to go elsewhere. Pool was quite cold but the hot tub was nice!

The grounds are an ash tray. Cigarette butts everywhere! Room 134 smelled like mold, it stunk ! Room 118 was better until the next morning, when i saw a cockroach in the bathroom sink. The hallway carpets are NASTY!! Stains all over the place. They are trying to make it look like their "improving" putty smeared all up and down the hallway on the walls. It looks like s***.. My 5 yr old great granddaughter could have made it look better. I will NEVER stay at any one of these hotels EVER!!! There was no stopper in the sink. Styrofoam cups just set out to use for coffee or whatever. Not individually wrapped.

Staff was great and was happy with the room until the roaches appeared. We were moved to another room, which also had roaches. That's when we checked out and had to find another hotel. Still waiting for our refund.

Room was fine, other than the bathroom didn’t look like it had gotten clean. There were little hairs all around the sink, we killed a cockroach crawling on the inside of our door, and housekeeping never knocked before keying into our room. They just walked in.

I stay at hotels a lot and i dont expect it to be perfect by any means, but this trip might of been my worst, we open door n try n turn on light n it doesn't work, found the bathroom light n soon as turned it on roaches scattered and went into the door jam. Then open microwave and someone left food in it and was rotten and stinked so bad had to throw up, it was obvious the housekeeper didnt do their job, the staff was nice tho and gave us another room, but couldn't stop thinking about those creepy crawlies getting on me lol

This was the only hotel that I ever left once I saw the room. When I got to the front desk to tell them that I was leaving and wanted to refund, there were two other guests doing the same thing, with the police. Stains on the pillows, cockroaches, Unsafe environment. Avoid this place.

Although the staff was very pleasant and the breakfast was acceptable, walking into the first floor it smelled of cheap perfume and dirty water. The second floor had a putrid sour smell throughout the hall. The room was clean . There was a phone , but when I went to call the front desk there was no cord or a place to connect the phone as if it was a display only. One of the bathroom doors we had to lift to latch. The horrifying part was in the morning as a roach was trying to enter our room causing us to leave early . I showed the picture of the roach to the housekeeper and to the front desk. The housekeeper apologized. The front desk man did not give me much of a response. This was my first time experiencing this type of bug and was terrifying.

this property is way below any standard I would have expected on your site. The outside area is unkept and dirty The room was nothing but a mess from the cockroach that was in the bathroom and bathroom mirror coming apart to the dirty sheets on the bed. Not to mention all the bed bugs I found that were on the pillows on the dirty bed. Want a refund of my stay as I left this establishment and had to stay at another hotal

It was very dirty and the whole smelled like cigarettes and my room smelled like mildew. They didnt give me a new room or discount they just apologized.

The hotel is located in a run down area of Muskegon/Norton Shores. Outside looks like band-aid attempts. Cockroaches are rampant in the rooms. I caught and killed a german Cockroach while eating in the room. Reported to front desk @11am and was told to call around 1pm for management. I called at 1:10pm and management still wasnt there. The new front desk attendant stated that "they dont do refunds" but she will talk to management and call back shortly. Still no call back. Filed claim, reported to Health and safety. Avoid this place. It may be cheaper than surrounding areas, but I wish i would have paid the extra $30 a night knowing what i know now. Side note: The continental breakfast is bleak and not worth the trip down to the lobby. Only offer oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, coffee, and waffle machines. And 2 out the the 4 were not operational.

It’s very old, smells like smoke and moldy. The shower curtain was so fowl smelling and the shower leaks. Water was literally coming out of the wall. Extreme water damage. It was honestly absolutely disgusting. I will say the sheets were clean but the bed was broken so it sloped down in the corner. If you need a roof over your head for the night then this would suffice but you don’t want to touch anything.

We had a room on the 2nd floor. There is no elevator. The tv remote was missing and the phone did not work. They brought a replacement remote and it didn’t work. In the bathroom there was a used feminine product on the floor in the corner. The sheets and bed were clean. It is not in a great neighborhood. I would not stay again.

Overall, we enjoyed the suite that we stayed in for a few days. The phone didn't work but that wasn't a big deal. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable and the staff was friendly and always available when needed.

Room updated a bit . Clean . Nothing fancy . Good for an overnight stay .

The property was clean and the beds comfortable. The staff was pleasant and check in was quick and easy. Our door lock was broken when we got there, which was a problem but the staff did fix it. Unfortunately, it was while we we in the room and noisy and smelly. Also, our tv kept coming on after it was turned off and randomly changing the channel for no reason.

Honestly, for the price the room was OK. The only issue I truly had was the fact that the socket did not work in the bathroom and I had to walk back-and-forth between outlet and mirror to fix my hair..

Bathroom in need of remodeling! Otherwise our stay was good.

The Inn was old with small indoor pool. The jacuzzi in my room was a very old model. I originally made reservations because it was a part of Wyndom

Hotel was extremely dirty . Nothing like the pictures . Donald the “general manager” was very rude . Room and hallways had a bad odor . All bedding was stained and had a bad smell . Not clean at all . Pool had a bunch of white stuff floating in it . We did not swim . Overall horrible experience.

When we arrived, the check in process was great. The front desk workers were friendly and polite. We went back out to our car to get our luggage and went in a side door. While walking inside, my child said, "MOM! Don't step in that!!" I proceeded to look down to find HUMAN FECES on the ground outside the hotel. There were two piles we had to step over. Once we went inside the hotel, we were immediately hit with a wall of pot smell. It was such an intense smell, I was concerned my children would get a contact high. We went into our room, dropped our stuff off and went to dinner. We were in the room less than five minutes. While sitting at dinner, we could smell the pot on us. I called the front desk to ask about a refund and let them know how unhappy I was. The front desk woman said she completely understood us not wanting to stay and told me that she would approve our refund. If I was able to give this negative stars, I would! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!

My family booked 3 rooms in this hotel for 4 days. The day before we were supposed to check in, we receieved a phone call from the hotel manager saying one of the rooms we booked (a suite room) didnt have hot water and we would be staying in a double room the first night, no big deal. Except when we arrived the night shift "manager" (later found out he lied multiple times and is NOT a manager at all) claimed moving rooms is against policy and we would be stuck in the room with no hot water. Whatever, we checked in. Less than an hour into being in our room, we found BED BUGS. We immediately gathered our stuff and went to check out. The (not) manager refused to refund us because we booked through expedia. (And the hotel denied expedia our refund!!) He also said he could transfer us rooms for the "inconvenience" even though we were forced to check into a room with cold water because "transferring guests between rooms is against our policy". The pictures and rooms look nice, but do not be fooled, this hotel has BED BUGS. The (not) manager working the front desk was extremely unprofessional when it came to handeling the situation. And, again, my family spent a LOT of money for rooms that were riddled with bed bugs that the hotel refused to refund us for. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Really well maintained, cleanand charming place full of character. Staff are super nice. Breakfast was unexpected and over the top. Will definitely stay again if we come here

Received a call around 8:45pm inquiring if we were still planning on checking in, I confirmed and told the staff we would be there in an hour as we were at dinner. Upon arrival the front desk said it was a new system and was having issues. He moved to a different computer, claiming there were just 15 rooms left but they aren’t showing anymore and there must be a glitch in the system. Asked us to wait while he figured it out. Offered us 2 king rooms instead of our booked 2 queens room. We said as long as it was adjoining. He got on the phone with the manager and tried giving us one king room and they would try to figure out the other room once the manager arrived. We opted in not waiting any longer and went home instead. The front desk was initially kind but didn’t understand our frustrations with the issue. After speaking to a guest who had been there longer, the guest told us they knew that morning they were overbooked, they ended up giving our room to someone else. Nothing like having to drive 2hrs home and not getting in until after midnight to end what was supposed to be a nice family vacation. In addition, the room had recently been remodeled however there was hair in the bedding, its right off a busy road so it’s fairly noisy, and there were people working on vehicles outside, and smoking pot. We know this because friends of ours checked in so we saw the rooms, they ended up leaving and driving home once we didn’t get a room.

The staff was veey helpful, and kind even to those who didn't have a reservation an just needed a second to charge their phone. Some rooms are being refinished and are VERY nice, the AC/Heating units work GREAT unlike most other cheap hotels. We stayed at the Travelodge across the street for 2 days, and in 2 minutes of being at the Clarion could tell that i made the right decision.

We didn't end up staying here even tho we already paid. Check in was at 3pm we arri ed at 2:40pm so had to wait that was fine. We went back in at 3pm and saidthey still did not have any rooms open. This Donald guy was something else. I asked about how long and he said another 20 minutes so we went back out and waoted. We went back in for the 2nd time still no rooms. Donald said they were sold out the previous night said 20 more minutes they will have a room. Again we went out and waited. At 4:05pm ineeded to use the bathroom i went in and asked Donald if they had a bathroom i could use he said they dont have a public bathroom. I then asked well is our room done so i could go in there he said no. We left to find a gas station. We arrived back at 4:35pm. I went in and asked Donald if they have a room yet he said no.i then asked if we could just get a refund because my husband and daughter had plans and now that may be waisted Donald said no they dont give refunds. I let him know that this was not our fault it was theirs and that they have to have 1 room by now it only takes tops 30 minutes for a room that i use to do housekeeping. We just left and called it a loss so my husband and kid could go to Michigan Adventure before they closed. I would have gladly sat in the vehicle but we had our 2 dogs and wasnt going to make them suffer from the heat.

Lativia at the service desk greeted me with a huge smile . Room was so clean! Pool was nice and clean & hot tub was warm! Food was great. Good location. Plenty of parking. Very quiet and clean. Tv was big. Bed was comfortable. Hallway was clean. I am so very satisfied and will return. Oh , I also only had to pay 62$!!! Keep up the good work Claritin … God bless!!

Did not enjoy my stay. Did it seem like a safe location. I was told on check in where a good place to park my car was so I could keep an eye on it.

Property located 3 miles from Sam's Club & Walmart, 5 miles from lovely Lake Michigan beach & lighthouse.

The front desk clerk was awesome! He was very cheerful and answered all are questions The property is run down and dirty rooms were dirty and stairwells carpet filthy. Awful loud party going on in parking lot next to Motel with a giant Liqour store across the street. If I would have had another choice I would have found something else! Would not recomend this stay!

Check-in was smooth and the clerk was nice. The room looked recently renovated and appeared clean but there were roaches. I’m glad I didn’t notice them until we were about to check out. I would have been too creeped out if I’d seen them earlier. Just hoping none hitched a ride in my suitcase. The exterior is awful, especially from the back side, which is the way we came in. This route also gave a lovely view of the neighborhood’s dilapidated and vacant buildings and plentiful liquor stores.

The stay was good. There were people doing drugs in the parking lot on arrival. However the area where the motel is isn't the safest. People were very nice

My husband and I were passing through and reserved a room here. Once we arrived in parking lot, we did not feel safe even getting out of our car. We left the parking lot and called to cancel the reservation immediately.

The entire hotel smelled of smoke. The location was not as described on the website—it said the hotel was located in North Shores, it is located in Muskegon Heights. The area has multiple buildings with windows knocked out, gang graffiti, sketchy characters lurking around. It seems very unsafe.

Hotel had a horrible smell was not clean . Neighborhood is horrible. The bed was clean I was supposed to stay two nights but checked out first thing the next morning. People in the room next to me were messing with the joining door someone blasting music in the parking lot for two hours straight in the middle of the night. I will never go back

Thee grounds are not lovely, but there is a nice little outside table and chairs. Very convenient to the highway, though not noisy.

I had never been to this area before. When arriving to the hotel, I should have changed my plans. It appears they recently painted the outside of the hotel but the parking lot was a bit of a mess. I was given a room across the parking lot and it is in desperate need of some upkeep. There was a BMX bike parked outside the door I had to enter and tons of cigarette butts. The hall carpet and paint was very old and in poor condition. I literally stayed in my room and kept the doors locked. The room itself was huge but was in disrepair. There was cracked tiles around the tub, chipped paint and not a single picture on the wall. The bed was clean. The service at the front desk was very good. Was told by my Doordash driver, it is a poor neighborhood. I am not bashing the hotel, I would just use caution a single woman staying there alone.

It was a quite area, but! there was No TV and Continental Breakfast was poor. Nothing to eat

We had to wait 15 minutes before anyone even came to the front desk, the rooms need repairs and updates, the coffee maker didnt work, the leather was peeled halfway off the chair, the beds were clean and comfortable but the breakfast was literally only waffles, 2 kinds of cereal, regular sliced bread and coffee. Not the best deal for the price

There update of facility was a bandaid on a pig. + Room very dimly lit - need at least a table lamp. + Room condition was smelly, problems with TV, no coffee maker, danages just painted over, etc. + Breakfast was not very good. - no options for diabetics except apples. Very little put out (2 tea bags, 3 or 4 yogurt, etc) - as if they were being stingy. + Exterior - blacktop crumbling, areas of tall grass & weeds, rough abandoned building close to hotel (rough area & security / safety) + Paid way to much for room (2days) for quality of stay.

The room was clean and beds were adequate. The kitchenette was not stocked with any type of cookware or dishes so the only thing we could use was the fridge. The outside of the property is a bit shady and needs to be cleaned up and updated. The breakfast was disappointing to say the least as the only thing that really was offered was waffles. Not even bagels or a choice of muffins.

Excellent service and amenities. The pool and hot tub were great. Breakfast options were solid. We overslept day of departure and the staff gave us a little extra time to pack up
