Sweeney Aviemore One

The heat didn't work, the whole stay was cold and miserable. Hotels.com didnt help at all - customer service was useless, told us to contact property.

Room had everything needed for a more than comfortable stay, smart TV, Molton Brown toiletries, lovely little outdoor balcony, fridge with a small freezer section and a microwave. The compact double room was spacious enough for a solo traveller and self check in was a breeze (3pm check in was a bonus as many are now 4pm). A short walk from Aldi and home bargains, with a Tesco a bit further down the road. Also plenty of takeaways, shops and restaurants. There is also a storage/drying room for ski gear ect and a car park, neither of which I needed to use but helpful to know. I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location. Comfortable bed. Bathroom a bit tatty around the edges. Great having a wee kitchen but the sink has a cupboard directly above it, very awkward washing the dishes. Telly didn't move so we had to sit on the bed to watch tv despite there being 2 chairs.

Check in was easy you get a code sent for the front and room door, very well equipped with a small kitchen area with a fridge which when travelling with a dog was really useful for the food. Bed lovely and comfy with a small balcony area to sit out and as the weather was so good was perfect. Ample parking with a very short walk into Aviemore, plenty local shops, cafes and pubs/restaurants to choose from

Unfortunately we couldn’t turn the radiator on as it was leaking so the the room was cold

I was really impressed with the quality of the accommodation. It was very modern and stylish and spotlessly clean. The little kitchenette area was very useful and there were glasses and crockery etc. I loved it and would definitely stay here again. Great location right in the middle of Aviemore too.

My daughter and I had a good stay with Sweeney one as it was almost perfect. Comfortable room with free water and tunnocks was a really nice touch, great parking spaces and our shower was excellent and it was fairly clean. Communication was very good also so in summary the accommodation is “good” and fairly priced for the location but we would not return. Constrictively, I would agree with the other reviews of this property that the noise is the only thing that stops me from writing “excellent” as my daughter and I heard every door open and close. We also heard conversations other couples were having in neighbouring rooms.

Absolutely loved it here. Rooms were spotless and spacious enough for a few night. Easy access into property and free parking. Only downside was we could hear upstairs room walking around and dog was barking from other room quite early in the morning

Yes, parking was excellent. Our room had a kettle and a microwave but we did not use this as went out to eat The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean.

Apartment smells of bleach throughout the day of arrival. Not enough toiletries for length of stay. Bathroom was not user friendly with shower not draining and door broken.

Clean room, lovely modern decor, comfy bed. Only slight issue was one of the mugs smelt like coffee and had a small stain on it as did one of the knives. But the kitchen comes with cleaning products so I just washed them.

Overall, I would not stay here again with the rooms being more style over substance. Whilst the poor layout/facilities could be forgiven, the cobwebs, dust, and previous guests’ hair is simply inexcusable. The broken curtain and poor cleaning standards show that the guest experience isn’t a priority in this accommodation. The Good Good check in experience and keyless access. Great location in easy walking distance from everything in Aviemore. Plenty of car parking. Private outdoor seating area. If you are creative with a microwave, then you don’t need to eat out for every meal. Good hospitality tray (although no milk so cant have a cuppy until you visit a shop). The Bad Cobwebs covering the wooden slat walls. Previous guests’ hair on the fabric headboard. Curtain covering the patio doors broken. Bathroom mirror unusable due to height, (I am 6” so shorter people may have more success). Bathroom sink too small to carry out even basic activities, even if it were big enough for a shave you wouldn’t be able to see what you are doing due to the aforementioned mirror placement. Layers of dust on top of the bathroom mirror. Kitchen sink difficult to use due to a cupboard above blocking it. Dressing table with sockets but no mirror. Full length mirror blocked by a chair in front of it. Microwave clock is so bright it illuminates the whole room at night, there is no accessible plug to turn this off. Walls to adjoining rooms so thin you can hear everything, and I do mean everything!

The room was fine, however, it was let down by thin walls and noisy neighbours. There was no doormat so the floor got dirty very quickly.

The sweeney one had plenty of parking and the room was lovely. Perfect for a couple of nights away. However, our room was right at the entrance door and you could hear everyone coming and going, the door banged every time someone opened/closed it. This set off my dog as it was quite loud so I think people staying with dogs would be better suited to rooms at the back. Friday night was particularly noisy and a couple of people decided to have a conversation at 5am right outside our door, which luckily another room told them off. Also, the radiator would switch off at 8pm and leave the room cold at night. The window was the whole length of the room and right next to the bed which meant it got cold quick. Apart from that, it is ideal for a couple of nights. The sweeney two is where you can go for breakfast. Both mornings our breakfasts were delicious, well cooked and well presented and the staff were so lovely and attentive.

We loved this cozy spot! Our only feedback is that the Room 5 sliding bathroom door was VERY HARD to close and may need to be oiled or repaired.

Good central location. Room was a good size and well appointed. Bed was too soft for me.

Only stayed for three nights, but thought it was a lovely place. The room decor is very modern/contemporary, which is what I like. Bed and bedding was comfortable, but was only a small double bed, presumably because the room was quite small. We will stay again , but will book a bigger room next time.

Hotel was nice and recently updated. Room was on the small side but adequate for the night. Area was good as you could walk to several restaurants or pubs. would stay again

Lovely spot and great facilities. Had a small issue with beds set as twins instead of a king, but was very quickly amended within the hour by the duty manager, Helen. Room was clean and bed very comfortable

The property was easy to access and very quiet. We had no interaction with the staff or anyone there but needed none. It was a short walk to and from the train station which was good. The room itself was fairly small but adequate.

Enjoyed our stay very much! Mini fridge and microwave are rare while traveling around Scotland, very convenient to have. Great shower. Comfortable bed. Walking distance to restaurants and groceries. We would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed the room. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The small deck space was great for sitting in the sun after a shower. We liked the amenities, fridge, which had 2 complimentary bittles of water, 2 sinks, and welcome gift of local treats. It was a convenient place, close to town and public transportation as we went for a hike in Glenmore Park.

If you are visiting the cairngorms this place is amazing to stay at. the rooms are modern with enough space and a really nice bathroom its quiet and the town is charming

We had a lovely time hiking in Glenmore Park. Aviemore is a wonderful town with nice people, fine eateries, and the Sweeney room was clean, comfortable, and close to tow n.
