This is a guest house on the second floor of the building which is partly residential. As most small hotels in Italy it’s on the second floor. Elevator is for 2 persons and 2 suitcases. It’s in between the Colosseum and Santa Maria Maggiore and Roma Termini, where we want to be. Staff are friendly and helpful. We came very early and room was not ready yet. They offer to keep our luggage so we can walk around the neighborhood. The continental breakfast is delivered every morning by the staff, and it was quite nice. The room is updated and spacious, the bathroom is half updated. The vanity sink looks like from the 1920’s. I would have given it a 4 star if not for the vanity. Maybe the other rooms are completely updated, but not ours.

Great overall stay. It is an odd entry but I’m sure not by European standards. You need to be buzzed in initially, enter a foyer, take a lift up and that is the hotel floor. I was informed the other floors are residences and one above is a airB&B. The lift is tiny only 2 people fit which is normal for the area we’ve experienced prior. The receptionist was very knowledgeable and spoke great English. She gave us great recommendations. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived which is no fault of the hotel because we arrived in the morning but it wasn’t fun getting off a long flight and not resting.. we had our luggage stored safety. The room was clean, I have no complaints. The last day we were there was horrible noise from the floor above. No noise all week until that day, it sounded like a stampede above us, it must have been a large group staying on that floor. There wasn’t any noise from surrounding rooms that I heard. The lobby is very skinny, it’s more of a hallway and reception is gone by late afternoon. You are given a key card to get in the front of the building and then when you get on the hotel floor once reception is gone the door is shut and locked. We felt pretty secure that way. The lights are all out but there are motion activated lights that come on as you walk. The area is in Monti so you are a quick walk to Cavour metro, Roma termini and the colosseum. We’ve stay in monti area twice due to being centrally located.

Easy and smooth check in at the hotel on arrival. And they brought a complimentary welcome dessert with a glass of white wine which is a nice touch and also a free bottle of red wine. The room was great, adequately sized and all the amenities you should need. They also offered many type of services (breakfast, laundry, tours etc.). The staff was great, helpful and accommodating. The hotel perfectly located near Cavour Station (between Roma Termini Station and Colusseum Station), so it is pretty convenient to either walk or take public transportation to the surrounding areas and sites. The only thing to be aware of is that the room I had was next to the door to the entrance of the reception that was unlocked by the card key and that unlocking mechanism had quite a loud buzz sound when opening up, which might be a problem if you are a light sleeper if/when other guest arrive to their room late at night. Other than that I had a very pleasant stay and highly recommend this hotel if you come to Rome.

Spent a week at the Relais Forus in Via Cavour. Centrally located, just 5 mins walk from the Colosseum. Twenty to the Trevi Fountain. The hotel only has nine rooms, no bar, and breakfast is served in your room as also no dining room. Terminus bus and rail stations at the top of the road. Staff were very friendly and helpfull. Rooms were cleaned daily. Laundry service available if needed. Had a great week in Rome. Would recommend.

I was blown away by this hotel. It is half way between Termini and the main historic sites of the Colosseum and the Forum. It is a moderately busy location and because of that you never feel unsafe walking along Via Cavour. When you first arrive you ring the front door and are buzzed in. I was met at the top of the first flight of stairs by a member of staff who couldn't have been lovelier. The formalities were done, some tourism recommendations were given, and I was shown to my room. It was a compact but modern room with a bathroom that included a jacuzzi bath. All manner of toiletries were provided including a welcome pack containing toothbrush, toothpaste, ear buds, a nail file, soap etc etc. In my room was a complimentary bottle of wine. I hadn't expected that, and it really made me feel welcome. A few minutes later there was a knock at the door. When I opened it, the friendly member of staff from earlier had a glass of prosecco and some nibbles for me. I have never had such a wonderful first few minutes in a hotel. There is nothing about this stay that I can find fault with. It was great from start to finish. Everything from the external door to the interior door and your room door are accessed via a key card. If you want to leave your bags for your final day, they give you a code to let yourself in as the hotel is unstaffed after 3pm. The price was excellent, and while the fact that it was November may have been a factor, this is a place I would stay in again

Good location, we walked most everywhere and saw all the main sites. Breakfast was exceptional with many choices and delivered to your room. Street side rooms can be a little noisy, and no one mans the reception desk after 330 pm but all in all a good value.

I read several reviews in Italy with regards to front desk staff only being available for certain hours and this particular front desk. Staff went home at 3:30 in the afternoon. However, this was not an issue as the communication was excellent for codes to get into the property and to retrieve our key to the room. The location was excellent, 10 minutes walking to the Colosseum and other venues. Many many places to eat in the area, shop and get gelato. Felt very safe and the staff was exceptional. Very polite, wanted to make sure we were happy and taken care of and even assisted us with extending our stay by one day. We can’t thank you enough for taking care of us throughout our stay. Exceptional 5 Star service. Our room was very small, however, there was so much love thought and personal touches put into designing the rooms that it made it special. again thank you so much for everything!

The Relais Forus Inn was the best accomodation of my whole europe trip. Despite being on a main road, the hotel was tucked away so it was quiet and private. The room was lovely and an adequate size for two people, and a generous bathroom unlike other accomodations. The staff were lovely and the option for a very large breakfast for only 8E was very affordable. We also got a big bag of laundry done in-house for 15E. Only complaint is that they only accepted cash for all payments such a breakfast and laundry etc.

Las paredes de la regadera tenían moho en exceso, ni siquiera me pude bañar por el olor que desprendía, solicité cambio de habitación al día siguiente porque su recepción sólo funciona unas horas y durante la noche no hay a quien pedirle nada y me dijeron que no había lugar y que lo limpiarían, después de su limpieza quedó prácticamente igual. Decepcionante que mantengan un baño así con lo dañino que es el moho para la salud.

I have never been so disgusted. Dirty, stains on the bedding, one of which looked like blood. Shower dirty and disgusting. Walls so thin that despite double glazed windows, traffic is clearly heard inside the tiny room. We did not stay, instead leaving and finding another place to stay. Unfortunately we were lateish checking in and by the time we went back to "reception" (which is an untidy area in the hallway) the staff had left. It closes at 3:30pm. The area is dodgy with drug dealers on the street outside and smoking within the lobby of the building. The "hotel" is on one floor of a building of multiple use, with a metal door locking you in at night, as the place says on a sign in the hallway "for your safety" - nice! It is neither safe, clean nor comfortable, We contacted hotels.com straight away, - they could see that we booked other rooms to stay in, and they contacted Relais Forus Inn who have refused a refund, instead hiding behind their "cancellation policy". If the place was decent, we would not have had to move. How they have 9.2 rating is beyond me. Avoid at all costs, - you really don't want to stay in this hovel. If you have a booking, cancel it. They're only interested in your money.

Really enjoyed our stay here. I can’t remember the girl that checked us in, she had glasses and was young, she made our stay. She knew who we were before checking in. We were able to leave our bags prior to check in and the accommodated us for an early check in. Room felt very clean and location was very central. I wish I booked this hotel on my way out of Rome as well. There was a really yummy bakery recommended to us by the front desk girl right on the same street we went to twice.

The location was hard to beat, walking distance to all the main sights of Rome. Staff were lovely and the breakfast was ample and delivered to your room. Downsides were the bed, like most of Europe it was 2 singles pushed together. The addition of a mattress topper would have made the world of difference so you don’t fall into the crack between the beds. The rooms could do with some renovations, peeling paint and rusting fixtures in the bathroom. But overall a very pleasant stay

The lobby smelt like cigarette smoke and the room smelt moldy. There was no natural light in the room and the room was very small (no place for 2 medium sized luggage) and it was pretty noisy. Would not recommend.

This place was perfect for us. Great, central location. Room was comfortable, spotlessly clean and seemed to lack nothing. The friendly staff were fabulous and nothing was too much trouble for them. When we return to Rome, this is where we will be staying.

Small boutique hotel spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, complimentary wine and toiletries an extra nice touch. The owner went out of his way to help us with all our queries and he and his staff treated us more like friends than guests. The hotel is ideally situated for attractions and transport and we would definitely return there.

Super location for the colosseum and forum. 30 minute walk to Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps. Simone was super as was the other lady who worked there but I didn’t get her name sadly. Breakfast was brought to the room which was amazing! Only downside was we could here every word the next door room was saying-luckily it was in French!

We stayed in room #105-the room was very small, dark, no window,(the balcony that you can’t use doesn’t count as a window) the lighting was not very good, kinda gave me virtigo , because there was NO natural light. The shower was very small, water pressure was good, shower head was good. You can’t charge any devices while your out sightseeing-they’ll pull the light card out. Overall, we made do, but will not recommend or return.

Overall it was a fine hotel in a good location. The room was fairly small for two people. The air conditioning was really nice. Our biggest issues were with the bathroom not having a proper door that could be closed/locked and the sheets on the bed. Found a few hairs on the sheets when we got there and they were so light. Would have been nice to have a blanket!

I was blown away by this hotel. It is half way between Termini and the main historic sites of the Colosseum and the Forum. It is a moderately busy location and because of that you never feel unsafe walking along Via Cavour. When you first arrive you ring the front door and are buzzed in. I was met at the top of the first flight of stairs by a member of staff who couldn't have been lovelier. The formalities were done, some tourism recommendations were given, and I was shown to my room. It was a compact but modern room with a bathroom that included a jacuzzi bath. All manner of toiletries were provided including a welcome pack containing toothbrush, toothpaste, ear buds, a nail file, soap etc etc. In my room was a complimentary bottle of wine. I hadn't expected that, and it really made me feel welcome. A few minutes later there was a knock at the door. When I opened it, the friendly member of staff from earlier had a glass of prosecco and some nibbles for me. I have never had such a wonderful first few minutes in a hotel. There is nothing about this stay that I can find fault with. It was great from start to finish. Everything from the external door to the interior door and your room door are accessed via a key card. If you want to leave your bags for your final day, they give you a code to let yourself in as the hotel is unstaffed after 3pm. The price was excellent, and while the fact that it was November may have been a factor, this is a place I would stay in again

The breakfast in the room with a possibility to order the night before was nice. There was enough to choose for a good breakfast. The cleaning of the room was good. They even folded out clothes. Although the room was on the side of the busy Via Cavour you couldn't hear much of it with the windows closed. The only point of complaint was the noise of the people in the room above our room. Because of the wooden floors the walking through the room was to be heard loudly. Overall very good.

Clean rooms. Staff was friendly. We were just there for a night between the rest of our trip and our flight out, and it was fine. Room is a little snug if youre staying for long (and have much luggage).

The rooms are all very unique and fun. The first room we stayed in was a whole apartment and the next one we stayed in was a little hotel room. The bed was big and comfortable. The attendant was kind and helpful. Just a forewarning though the elevator is tiny if you have big bags.

Really enjoyed our stay here. I can’t remember the girl that checked us in, she had glasses and was young, she made our stay. She knew who we were before checking in. We were able to leave our bags prior to check in and the accommodated us for an early check in. Room felt very clean and location was very central. I wish I booked this hotel on my way out of Rome as well. There was a really yummy bakery recommended to us by the front desk girl right on the same street we went to twice.

The Relais Forus Inn in Rome is a centrally located boutique hotel. The rooms are so nice and the staff is very helpful. It is within walking distance of many of the essential sites without being in a heavily trafficked tourist area. We appreciate all of the help and advice of the staff and the clean, large rooms.

After I booked the room the front desk attendant was quick to contact me with further booking requirements which I appreciated. The service at the Inn was next level. The front desk attendant upgraded our room so we’d have more space for dog which was so thoughtful. We were greeted with a complimentary glass of wine on top of the free bottle of wine. Breakfast was delivered to our room with ease. Responsiveness was almost immediate. I forget the front desk attendant’s name who provided all these services but she deserves a massive raise cause her incredible and efficient care.

I read several reviews in Italy with regards to front desk staff only being available for certain hours and this particular front desk. Staff went home at 3:30 in the afternoon. However, this was not an issue as the communication was excellent for codes to get into the property and to retrieve our key to the room. The location was excellent, 10 minutes walking to the Colosseum and other venues. Many many places to eat in the area, shop and get gelato. Felt very safe and the staff was exceptional. Very polite, wanted to make sure we were happy and taken care of and even assisted us with extending our stay by one day. We can’t thank you enough for taking care of us throughout our stay. Exceptional 5 Star service. Our room was very small, however, there was so much love thought and personal touches put into designing the rooms that it made it special. again thank you so much for everything!

Trés propre, personnel agréable et excellent service a la clientèle. Chambre dispose de tout ce qui est nécessaire pour passer une bonne nuit. A 10 minutes de marche du Colisée. 30 minutes de marches de la fontaine de Trévis. 15 minutes de marche de Termini. Emplacement central. Recommande sans hésitation.

Fantastic location. Walking distance to the Colosseum and the terminal station. Secure property, and friendly staff. Easy check and out and room was perfect for our stay. Breakfast was brought to our room at the time we requested and was warm and pleasant. Would 100% come back and recommend.

Ony a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum everything was very close. Great restaurants nearby. Could not fault anything and would definitely recommend

We are an older couple and stayed for 6 nights. We arrived early and were accommodated pleasantly and promptly. The room was small but clean and we were able to access our packed luggage items reasonably easily. There was a small closet, drawers and a minibar which we emptied and used for groceries. Bathroom was a reasonable size with a shower and toiletries. Breakfast was not lavish, but expected this from other reviews. It was served after 8:30 am but a small packed breakfast was provided if leaving before then. Our biggest suggestion for management would be to accept credit cards. We booked online with a credit card, but everything else (city taxes etc...) was due at the hotel and required cash. We spent half a day looking for a reasonable place to exchange enough cash simply to pay city taxes. This was highly inconvenient and not appropriate for a hotel in the 21st century. We used credit cards almost everywhere in Rome for simplicity and ease of cash conversion with no issues. They should do the same. Except for not being able to use our credit card at the hotel during our stay, the Relais Forus Inn provided good value.

We had a big expectations after reading all the reviews. Just ok place, a bit noicy because of the metro, we felt vibrations in the room during the night. The isolation from the rooms is very bad Breakfast was poor, croisants, cold boiled egg, a slice of cheese, nutela. I would recommend booking somewhere else. Because we stayed in a better hotel for the same price as Relais forus in for the remaining two nights in Rome

++++ recommend! Great location, very clean, breakfast brought to your room. Bed was actually comfortable to North American standards. Plenty of extra pillows and blankets. Mini fridge in room was a great touch. 10 minute walk to colosseum. The concierge checking us in went over the map and made plenty of recommendations. Great response time to any concerns. Offered to store luggage as well. Let us check in early. Only downside was the hot water for the shower must be a small tank just to keep in mind otherwise was a great stay.

The location was hard to beat, walking distance to all the main sights of Rome. Staff were lovely and the breakfast was ample and delivered to your room. Downsides were the bed, like most of Europe it was 2 singles pushed together. The addition of a mattress topper would have made the world of difference so you don’t fall into the crack between the beds. The rooms could do with some renovations, peeling paint and rusting fixtures in the bathroom. But overall a very pleasant stay

Good location, we walked most everywhere and saw all the main sites. Breakfast was exceptional with many choices and delivered to your room. Street side rooms can be a little noisy, and no one mans the reception desk after 330 pm but all in all a good value.

Séjour au top, chambre spacieuse, literie confortable, personnel super sympa, petit déjeuner servi en chambre, bouteille de vin offerte comme promis avec le programme Gold. Le dernier jour nous devions partir à 5h du matin donc trop tôt pour le petit déjeuner, ils nous ont tout de même préparé des petites choses (céréales, biscottes, jus de fruit...) merci beaucoup :) Situé à 5 min à pied du Colisee, 10 min à pied de la gare et à 2min du métro l'emplacement est vraiment idéal. Si nous revenons à Rome nous reviendrons dans cet hôtel c'est sur !!

Relais Forus Inn ?? Surprise, it’s a “guest house” not an “inn” , which they say is “explained on their website but then why call their business an “Inn” and not a guest house . Just to be clear, don’t expect a hotel as this is a bed and breakfast. Room was 10x12 feet , with just enough room for 2 narrow single beds and a small table. Could hear the subway cars as the metro line is below the “Inn” as rooms are on the 1st floor The “Inn” has 10 rooms on the first floor of a 6 floor building.The home owners/occupants on the 2nd floor above us were noisy, even at 4 AM. Breakfast was brought to the room as there is no breakfast area and the coffee was instant coffee, instant coffee just isn’t right in Italy Wanted ice to have with a coke, no ice available Manager/Front desk person was pleasant but leaves at 3:30pm and no employees at the “ Inn” after that time. The elevator is from the 1930s, which is not a problem as it worked fine. However, you can’t fit 2 people and 2 roller board suitcases in the elevator. Someone has to walk the stairs to the hotel or just wait for the elevator a little while. I wanted a room that faced a courtyard and that was what I got.. thank you but when I opened the balcony door there was a noisy water tank with gas & water pipes. If you’re a larger person this Inn won’t work for you as the shower , elevator and beds are small. I don’t want to finish the review with a negative as the room was clean, the AC worked well and the location was great ,

Just to be clear, don’t expect a hotel as this is a bed and breakfast. Room was 10x12 feet , with just enough room for 2 narrow single beds and a small table. Could hear the subway cars as the metro line is below the “Inn” as rooms are on the 1st floor The “Inn” has 10 rooms on the first floor of a 6 floor building.The home owners/occupants on the 2nd floor above us were noisy, even at 4 AM. Breakfast was brought to the room as there is no breakfast area and the coffee was instant coffee, instant coffee just isn’t right in Italy Wanted ice to have with a coke, no ice available Manager/Front desk person was pleasant but leaves at 3:30pm and no employees at the “ Inn” after that time. The elevator is from the 1930s, which is not a problem as it worked fine. However, you can’t fit 2 people and 2 roller board suitcases in the elevator. Someone has to walk the stairs to the hotel or just wait for the elevator a little while. I wanted a room that faced a courtyard and that was what I got.. thank you but when I opened the balcony door there was a noisy water tank with gas & water pipes. If you’re a larger person this Inn won’t work for you as the shower , elevator and beds are small. I don’t want to finish the review with a negative as the room was clean, the AC worked well and the location was great ,

I had a great experience at this inn. Everything was clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable, the room was a good size, and it was within walking distance distance to the Rome Termini train station. I couldn’t have asked for anything more!

Great location, just 5-10 mins from the colosseum and within walking distance to most iconic landmarks. Room was great and had a small balcony which was very welcoming, especially for breakfast which was lovely. Arrived to a complementary bottle of wine which was a nice touch. Would definitely stay again if returning to Rome.
