Tru By Hilton Minneapolis Downtown

Hotel is quite nice. Breakfast is very good. We were disappointed to learn upon arrival that there was no on site parking. We either had to pay for valet parking at $47 a night or park a few blocks away at $20 a night. There was no validated parking either. This would have been a decision breaker as this was not a cheap hotel. Clarity on this would have been nice. Valet guy was very helpful and apologetic and sympathetic. Check in clerk could have cared less and handed us a post card with parking alternatives.

The property was in a prime location! The app said there was a hot tub and there wasn’t. Other than that we had a great time!

I think parking is way to high and as a guest who is unfamiliar with the area walking two blocks at night or early morning is not ok

Great place to stay right down town and walking distance from a lot of thing! Only issue was that there is no parking on site so don’t forget where you park! There’s also no microwaves in the rooms but there is one in the dining area. The staff was great and the room was clean. Overall a great place to stay!

Clean hotel with great staff. Skywalk has easy access. Easy location to get around downtown.

Samuel working the hotel Valet was amazing at helping to direct where I should be parking for unloading at check in and even explained how to get to the cheapest parking ramp nearby since I had decided I didn't want to pay the valet prices for overnight parking at hotel. He was phenomenal and should get a raise because he is on his game and just super nice. Arycka at the front desk was really nice and helpful at getting me checked in and explaining things about the hotel. Cons I have regarding our stay was a large wad of black hair sitting on top of the drain in our shower, I used to do housekeeping when I was young, it was just a little ridiculous of an amount to have walked out and not noticed. I feel like it may have not even been cleaned at all because you can't miss the size of hairball that we threw away. Another note was there was no ice bucket to go get ice in for our room? We had a cooler, tried to fill that but it's kind of hard when you can't fit it under the spout that well. Lastly when we got back from the concert it was really warm in our room and there was no turning down the air or up in the event we were cold. The thermometer in this particular room was not user friendly and we tried for over 20 mins seeing how to change it and then finally just gave up and were exhausted. One last positive note, the gentleman that worked the free breakfast in the morning was wonderful. Engaged with all guests and could tell he liked his job! Thank you to all the staff!

My stay was pretty pleasant. There were a few things that I didn’t like them them not having a pool or hot tub. Also parking has to be valet or off site so your paying extra, but overall it was a nice hotel and very clean and comfortable. They had a great variety for breakfast. Very friendly staff at the front desk. Security at the hotel is great as well. It’s also in walking distance to bars, club, restaurants and other things.

Property was clean and room spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is no self parking on the property. They provide available nearby self parking structures. Valet parking is available for $47 dollars/day.

Parking was very confusing. It took a lot of extra time to try to coordinate. Then it seems almost impossible to get out of the garage where we finally parked. Now we’re faced with moving our car by 5 am-then I’m guessing another day’s charge? Ridiculous and inconvenient enough that you’ll pay Tru’s exorbitant $47-57 valet charge.

The parking valet experience was a nightmare. We were overcharged and had to wait for a reimbursement! And the 100 incidental charge hold is ridiculous! We sign forms saying we are responsible for the room and charges to our card for demages so why do they get to stress you out by putting a hold on me for several days. It is starting to make me want to look at other options and places to stay! They also gave us the wrong room so we had to move in the middle of our stay. Super big inconveniences. Good, the staff fixed the charges and fixed the room issue but it wasn't enough to make me necessarily want to come back right away.

Everything was great! Just a couple minor issues. Door handle on shower door was loose and there was a stain on the floor between the bed and table. It looked as if no one mopped the floor previously. But those are minor issues. Overall the staff was very nice and helpful!

The shower was dirty. There was hair alll over it and it was leaking.

Super clean, super friendly, great location

Everything was very clean and secure. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Room was large and comfortable. Nice lounge areas and I was able to work comfortably using the wifi.

The staff are wonderful! The hotel is spotless and our room is clean and quiet!

Upon arrival, the room was not clean. The floors were sticky and there was trash on the floor in some areas. We asked if it could be cleaned while we were out. The AC was also not working correctly. It took a while to cool off and made an extremely loud noise that continued until reaching the set temp. One night, we had adjusted the temperature several times to cool off the room, but the temperature kept rising. We called down to the front desk, since all the signs in the room said to call if we needed any help and the man who answered the phone did not help us. All I said was the AC is not working correctly and I was bluntly interrupted and he said he was not a maintenance person and could not help me. Then, he said I should try to adjust the temperature in small amounts (which I had already been doing for the last hour). I said ok, and then he said, yeah, try that and I might be able to put in a work order tomorrow, but I’m not sure. I let him know this was our last night there, and then he just hung up. The room temperature got up to 76 degrees. It was miserable sleeping in the room. When we checked out the next morning, the lady asked how our stay was and we told her about all this and all she said was sorry. We were very disappointed, since this was our first time in MN and staying at a Tru by Hilton. Nobody seemed to care, except George, who greeted us every morning and went out of his way to recommend places to eat/visit.

“Window” was just a brick wall about 12 inches out but not a huge deal! Clean and quiet, just wish there was a little more light!

Tru is very conveniently located in downtown Minneapolis, near the light rail. Our room was comfortable and modern, as was the bathroom. There are lots of plugs for charging devices. The only thing we didn’t like was the lack of drawers and hanging space. The breakfast was very good, with lots of options. All members of the staff that we encountered were very helpful and friendly.

Front desk folks were friendly and helpful. Common areas of the property were clean and well-kept. The room was not well cleaned (trash left underneath the beds). The beds were not super comfortable but not terrible. The biggest challenge was that A/C was not working in several of the rooms. Our room was between 75-78 degrees for our entire stay. They did offer us a fan for the room which was some help.

Central location, very friendly staff, comfortable beds, everything clean. Breakfast is very basic, but definitely okay for a couple of days. Indoor climate: Central, always on AC, with limited adjustment possibilities. Turning AC off was not an option. We took it from the positive side and slept with a t-shirt on and considered the AC noise as white noise that filtered out sounds from traffic and other guests. Earplugs

Extremely small king room and breakfast was very mediocre with very less options but the bed was very comfortable. The room has no carpet and is good for a very short stay.

The staff that checked us in was rude and are knowledgeable of the area. For the price of the room, it was one of the tiniest I’ve ever been and no matter what you did with the thermostat the room wouldn’t cool down. Oh, and the one window you have in the room when you lift the blinds all you see is the brick wall of the next building.

Noisy! The walls are not sound proof

Property is in a convenient location to venues. Check in process was understaffed. Although they had quite a few events going on they were not prepared. Only one person to check in guests. No rooms were ready at check in time. The one check in person was pleasant but just couldnt handle the amount of people checking in by himself.

Nightmare check in. Went to check in and then attend an event after check in. Valet parking was backed up so even getting to entrance was nearly impossible. One we found the doors it was backed up 3 hours wait time or so we were told would have missed event. Loaded luggage back in and came back 5 + hours later fkr another 1 hour wait. 1 desk person, who I felt bad for, once checked in, keys didn't work.we finally got in at midnight when we tried to check in at 5 p

The rooms were clean, breakfast was good, and the staff was great, especially the kitchen manager, George.

The staff was phenomenal- especially George working in the kitchen breakfast area- he was such a joy, so friendly, helpful a true blessing!!

Excellent employees. Everyone we encountered made a point to greet us and asked how our stay was going. The Valet parking was so helpful and convenient. We will definitely stay again!

It took us 1 hr standing in line before we checked in. We ordered valet in the morning. They said it would take 15 minutes for the car to be ready and we could come down at any time to pick it up. We got down there 20 minutes later and the car was not on record for being a vehicle that needed to be picked up from the valet. We had to sit there for another 30 minutes and were 30 minutes late to our appointment because of us.

Ok stay. Parking and drop off are a joke. One little area in the back for drop off and they use the little space for valet parking. 2 blocks to the nearest parking garage. But also 2 block to tram that you can use to get anywhere!! Its awsome.

Clean no nonsense hotel with good location for a recent conference I attended. I was able to check in early - big bonus. Friendly staff and easy walk from train stop. Overall great stay.

I liked that the property was connected to the Skyway system. The staff was very nice and the rooms were comfortable and clean.

Easy check in. Room was clean. Great location. When I went down for some coffee there was no cream. The front desk clerk said you were out. And that was it. I noticed toy were setting up for breakfast and saw pitchers of cream and milk in the counter fridge. I went and shed them and decided to grab a muffin. The person setting up yelled at me and said breakfast wasn’t available until 7 am. It was 6:30.

We had a wonderful experience in our stay at this hotel. I totally recommend it! The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful, the room was very big, the breakfast was good, and the hotel location good as well.

Hotel was perfect in every way. Good location, room was clean, modern, well equipped. Staff was very warm and welcoming. Bonus for the very accommodating gentleman in charge of breakfast!

I think there could have been more options for breakfast. eg. only one type of muffin and these were not available every day. I noticed this because I was there for 2 weeks. Also there could have been other pastries as an option. There was no butter available until day 4 after me asking the manager. I had asked others before that, including at the desk!! I didn't see any pancakes even though there was a big sign in the breakfast area and pictures of them in the lift with fresh berries so of course you expect to see them at breakfast some time over my 2 week stay. My room was left open all day and nobody dealt with my concerns. It was left to me to chase up although it was dealt with eventually.

The man running breakfast was an absolute delight. He engaged with everyone and was so personable! I wish I had caught his name, but I definitely wanted to give him a shoutout since he is a great asset to your team!

Mediocre breakfast options although the employees were nice and hardworking. There was no self-parking lot and once it was determined I would not pay the exorbitant $50 for valet parking I was forced to move my car before I even checked in. Parked two blocks away but in a public lot for $4 for the entire night.

We chose this property due to the proximity to the US Bank Stadium and the price. I will say the property was clean for the most part and tastefully decorated. Rooms were clean but small but was fine for just one night. HOWEVER!!! Our first issue was parking- the hotel does not have any parking, unless you pay $50 for valet parking. The closest public parking garage was 2 blocks away, which turned out to ok since the garage was walkable and on our way to the Stadium in the morning, the parking situation just wasn't expected. Probably the most dissatisfying part of our stay was the Sunday morning continental breakfast. They were literally out of EVERYTHING!! I realize it gets busy at certain times in the morning, but it should have been prepared for. People were mad- we were mad. To pay $200 to stay that includes the breakfast, it was very frustrating to not have a selection. The gentleman who was re-filling, seemed to only be filling the easy stuff like bread, salsa, cheese, etc. (plus he was sweaty which was kind of gross around the food). It seemed like there was no point to refill those when the bread was half full and didn't need to be refilled considering all that needed to be refilled, there were no eggs for the salsa, no peanut butter, jelly, etc for the bread. I decided that I would grab a cup of coffee before that was gone but it was gone too. Just very ill prepared. This hotel just won't be our first pick next time we come for a Vikings game.
