Perfection! Thank you to Lark Hospitality for giving these properties new life. The restoration is flawless and the rooms are gorgeous. The location is perfect - adjacent to the South Slope and just downhill from the heart of downtown Asheville. These magnificent homes could have easily been torn down to make room for condos or a modern hotel. Instead, they’ve been preserved and renewed for travelers to enjoy. Breakfast was easy, fast and delicious, parking was FREE, and the staff was super friendly. 10 out of 10. No notes!!!! My only request is to keep your rates affordable. Asheville is becoming too expensive for the average person to enjoy. Your reasonable rates made a great night possible. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We loved our stay at Zelda! The location was perfect for navigating around downtown Asheville. We were within a 5-15 minute walk anywhere we wanted to go. We loved all of the little touches in the room and how nice it was! The room even has a sitting room! We loved the on site bar Wine and Roses. Jake in the bar took excellent care of us and the other guests. He gave us some good recommendations for places to eat. The outdoor area was great for cocktails and catching the sunset. We are planning to come back in a few weeks for my birthday! This is a gem right in the heart of downtown. Don’t skip it!!

Amazing property in the heart of Asheville. Staff is super courteous and helpful. The parking makes it easy to get in and out (although we didn't move our vehicle once we arrived.) Breakfast was perfect with some tasty offerings and the cocktail lounge at night was spectacular. At bedtime the room was dark and quiet.

Perfect location. Walk to downtown and several restaurants and shops. New and beautiful with high-end touches. Nice continental breakfast with bakery pastries, fresh fruit and yogurt. Be prepared for lots of steps.

Great property. A wonderful boutique hotel. Rooms are spacious. With relatively new management there are bugs have to be worked out. The office needs someone available full time. Rooms have a refrigerator but no microwave. The one in the dining area is difficult to operate. The dining area could use better variety of cold cereals and fruit. It is a longish walk from parking lot to rooms but staff is willing to help. We particularly had good service,from Ignes and Jake. We wil, return again.

This hotel is amazing! It is in a great location with parking. They offered complimentary pastries from a local bakery for breakfast. The room was spacious, clean, and had essentials like a steamer, q-tips, hair dryer, and robes. I also love how the hotel is decorated in the art deco style. There is a really cute courtyard in between the buildings that had fire pits and seating. All of the staff that we encountered were so nice. Even the maintenance/grounds staff that we ran into asked how our stay was. We can’t wait to stay here again in the future!

Luxurious, quiet, wonderful service, great bar and terrace… we can’t say enough about Zelda Dearest. Staying there was a welcome break from chain hotels during college touring. We felt pampered and relaxed. Don’t pass this gem up!

This unique hotel is actually 4 large historic homes arranged around a beautiful courtyard. The rooms are large, with cool, eclectic decor. Every consideration has been given to equipping the rooms with wonderful amenities; cushy bathrobes, high end soaps and lotions, a comfortable bed. The rooms are very quiet and restful and the housekeeping is immaculate. The breakfast was first class with fresh fruit, yogurt and fine bakery pastries. The location was excellent; close to all the fun old town restaurants. Adequate and easy parking as well. If you are looking for a bed and breakfast experience close to all that Asheville has to offer, stay at Zelda Dearest.

I booked a room at Dearest Zelda for 3 nights and had high expectations. Before arriving, I even called ahead and was told we’d be given drink tickets since it was my husband’s birthday. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. When we returned to our room one evening, a lady approached us and said, “Are you in Mystic? Yeah, I need that room now, we have guests checking in.” When I explained that we had the room reserved, she only replied, “Let me check on that,” with no apology. Both my husband and I found her extremely rude. They then turned off our hotel keys and said they’d bring replacements to the room, which never happened. My husband eventually had to go to the front to retrieve them himself. On the positive side, the two men working in Rosalind could not have been kinder or more helpful. Unfortunately, overall service was a 2/10 at best. This is not really a hotel—it feels more like an upscale Airbnb. There is no proper staff, and for the price, it’s absolutely not worth it. The rooms themselves are gorgeous, but they’re not well insulated—you can hear other guests clearly. To make things worse, one guest left dirty, wet socks and shoes outside their door for the entirety of their stay, which really detracted from the atmosphere. In summary: this is a beautiful property but very overpriced for what you get. I would not recommend it if you’re looking for actual hotel-level service. At best, it’s an exceptional Airbnb—not an upscale hotel.

I took my boyfriend here for a birthday weekend. I love the renovation of these older homes and found our room to be lacking in nothing - I reserved the Magnolia with a soaking tub. The finish levels are very nice and our room quite large. The location in Asheville is excellent and I really liked that it's a smaller property compared to some of the other places around. I think the only negative I could say is that the location of our particular room within the hotel was at the top of the stairs to the main level so we heard folks both downstairs at the bar - not very often - and as they would walk through the hall from other rooms above us or on the same level. But I reserved a very specific room so there may have not been others to choose from. Overall a great stay and everyone was very nice. Bed was super comfy and soaking tub A+ after walking all over Asheville!

Absolutely gorgeous hotel. Rooms are quiet, well-designed, and beautifully decorated. It’s so unique! Appreciated that I could easily walk to shops and restaurants downtown. Staff were helpful and friendly. Only (negligible) downside was that they were unaware of the VIP benefits I was supposed to have received through my Expedia booking.

EXCELLENT! This is my new favorite place in town. It’s an art deco style gorgeously appointed and thoughtful place. The rooms were stunning with massive bathrooms, the staff was beyond helpful, and the three houses that make up the property give it such charm. I wish I could vote this higher.

Zelda is the only place we stay in Asheville. The rooms are cool, the breakfast is excellent, and the staff is wonderful (special shoutout to Jake, who brought us a bottle of whiskey sours for our anniversary. You’re a real one, Jake). Tons of breweries, restaurants, and shopping within walking distance, too. Highly recommend staying here!

We had a wonderful stay! This hotel is such a special property. Our room was lovely and we really enjoyed the thoughtful design and style of the place. Being able to walk right across the street to the concert venue was amazing. Customer service was outstanding. Jake was especially helpful and kind, going above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay! The breakfast was tasty too. Honestly, we didn’t want to leave!

Everything from booking to check out was flawless. The property is in a great location, secure, and everything in the room was spotless. The breakfast provided in the morning was another bonus. With coffee, fruit, and pastries it was perfect. The bed was very comfortable and the toiletries smelled great. Not to mention that it's just a 2 minute walk from the Orange Peel! Zelda Dearest is a new boutique hotel - I think open for 6 weeks when we stayed. We were in the Paradise Suite. Very large and comfortable with upscale furnishings and a great bed and pillows. Cindi ental breakfast with excellent pastries from a local bakery was included. The only negatives are road noise during the day as it’s on a busy street But it’s quiet at night. And it’s a several block walk up a steep hill into downtown Asheville. So many options in Asheville, but you can’t go wrong at Zelda Dearest

Absolutely pristine with great service, great room furnishings, very clean, great continental breakfast, cool little bar and excellent location. My wife, who is not a fan of art deco, loved this place and insists we stay here on our next visit. Wow.
