I really enjoyed my stay at Soraniwa Terrace Kyoto. The onsen was relaxing, and the roof terrace, with its daily free drink, was a great touch. The views were amazing, the location was perfect for getting around Kyoto, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. I’d happily stay here again.

This was an excellent hotel for the price. Well run and efficient check-in. The staff were outstanding, the facility was spotless and beautiful, the open-air baths supremely relaxing, the rooftop bar & foot soak a perfect way to end a day of shightseeing and we had everything we could have possibly thought of. By far one of the best places we've stayed! We only wish we had made a booking for the restaurant, but now we have an "excuse" to come back to such a lovely place.

Great hotel. Perfect location close to everything. A lot of extras like the Onsen, the terrace and coffee machine at the lobby. They provide coin-operated washing machine which is super useful (700 yen for 1 load and 1hr drying). If I return to Kyoto, it will be to this one for sure.

Really enjoy the location of this hotel. You can walk to Gion and Nishiki market. The rooftop bar offers a nice view toward Gion district. That bar also has foot soak. Fun hotel to stay at. I would come back.

Stayed here for 6 nights. Amazing service, hot springs were a delight. Free coffee and sweet treats in the hotel lobby. staff at reception were super helpful. Rooftop bar was a good time and amazing views over gion. Rooms were comfy! Definitely would stay again!

Not great, but not bad. Things that are good, the rooftop Terrance in the early morning having a free coffee. Great location to shops and nightlife. Bad points, our first room was very dusty with small flies, we were moved to a cleaner room after point this out. This is a traditional Japanese style hotel with lots of rules, for instance eating wasn't allowed on the terrace but depending on the staff this could be overlooked for some. Overall, it is a comfortable room and a good place to rest.

Top notch hotel in a great part of Kyoto. The rooms are impeccably clean and luxurious. The rooftop terrace provides a beautiful view of the city and the onsen is beyond relaxing. Highly recommend!

The most comfortable bed on our trip to japan, good pillows and bedding. small room but we were barely in there. You can walk to all the local temples and good restaurants and close to multiple train lines which comes in handle getting around Kyoto. At the end of the night the foot bath on the rooftop terrace is very nice, would stay again!!

Love love everything about this property. The view from the terrace is amazing. I do recommend the hotel put in some curtains. Since the window in the room are Japanese traditional style, light goes through easily so the room a little brighter than I’m use to for sleeping

Our stay was second to none due to the incredible staff, beautiful amenities/onsen, and clean room. The front desk and greeting staff, specifically “Coco”, were so pleased personable, friendly, and went above and beyond to make us feel special during our stay. As this was our honeymoon trip, they provided us extra drink tickets and a box of sweets in our room. There were free soft drinks, tea, coffee etc. available 24/7, as well as a Happy Hour upstairs overlooking the entire city, PLUS a foot bath to soak in the views! We were so thrilled by our honeymoon stay here and cannot wait to return!

I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. From the welcome drinks on the rooftop bar with a foot bath after a long day walking around Kyoto, to the exceptional staff, this was a great choice. After we left the hotel and were on our way back to Tokyo, we realized we had left our valuables in the room’s safe. The hotel contacted us and were able to overnight our things to us in Tokyo, for which we are very grateful! Great location and centrally located.

We cannot recommend this hotel enough. It was in an excellent location with lots to do in the area. Also very close to a station, so travel to other areas in Kyoto was extremely easy. The rooftop foot spa was amazing at the end of a long day. The staff were excellent, from check in to check out. Laundry room was easy to access and check in/check out was quick and seamless. This hotel is an excellent choice and should be considered if you visit Kyoto!!!

I would definitely stay here again. Sorry it was only for one day. Staff was very friendly. Arrived early before checkin and they accept my bags so we can go sightseeing. Hotel and room very clean and safe. Very good location close to train station, great shopping area and close attractions. Highly recommend!

We loved staying at this hotel. It was at a super convenient location right next to Nishiki market and Gion with lots of great restaurant and bars. It's also close to 2 metro stops connecting you to different lines. I loved walking the bridge at night and taking in the lovely view of Kyoto. The upstairs terrace has a great view of the city as well as beautiful sunrise views. I loved using the onsen after a long day of walking, not to mention the free coffee and drinks amenities. The rooms are small but that's the same for everywhere in Japan. We would definitely stay here again if given the chance!

Value for price paid was underwhelming at this hotel. If you're looking for a traditional Japanese experience, this may work for you but we would've liked more amenities. As others mention, the rooms are VERY small by western standards. I was traveling with my mother and we did not feel the space was adequate to be comfortable in the room. The rooms may work better for couples or a single traveler but families should look elsewhere. Additionally, the hotel lacks meaningful lounge / shared space to compensate for the tiny rooms. I'd also note that the hotel only provides a traditional Japanese breakfast, whereas most other hotels we stayed (at this price point) offered a Japanese and western breakfast option. The main selling point for the hotel is the onsen, which we did not realize does not allow bathing suits so bathers must be nude. Perhaps this was poor research on our part, but my mother wasn't comfortable so she didn't use the hotel's primary amenity. The location is very central which is great but concierge advice on restaurants was underwhelming and no room service was available when we would have liked to order to the room. We took the chance on the boutique hotel but would have preferred amenities and room size of a larger chain hotel.

Muito bem localizado, com um terraço com uma vista sensacional de Kyoto. O hotel também possui um onsen excelente para relaxar e com vista para a cidade. O quarto era um pouco pequeno mas o conforto da cama era excelente. Como ponto a melhorar não tem aonde tomar café da manhã, eles te entregam um Bento ( caixinha com comida) e só tem uma opção e oriental, ou seja peixe e arroz.

Nous avons passé 5 nuits dans cet hôtel et nous avons vraiment apprecié son toit terrasse avec vue sur Kyoto et un verre offert chaque jour. Le onsen est aussi superbe avec vue sur la ville un jour sur deux (alternance homme/femme). Le petit-déjeuner (bento) est très bon mais malheureusement c'est le même chaque jour. La chambre est belle mais un peu étroite, elle est vite encombrée avec les valises. L'hôtel est idéalement situé dans Kyoto pour profiter des quartiers de Gion et de Pontocho.

The roof top area for eating breakfast was a wonderful way to start your day while the free evening drink and foot bath was relaxing after a day of touring Kyoto.The bento breakfast boxes were excellent. The Onsen baths were great with one having a view of the mountains where you could see sunrise. Staff were excellent and committed to ensuring guests have a wonderful experience. Great value.
