Villa La Valencia Los Cabos Beach Resort & Spa - All Inclusive

Overall an outstanding resort with beautiful accommodations and scenery. Highlights: friendly staff, never felt too crowded, delicious food (especially latitude and la taberna), family friendly, and lazy river, pools and hot tubs were great. Cons: sewage smell in the hallways/elevator, proximity to major highway (noise), cannot swim in the ocean by the resort, one experience of a waiter forging extra tip (which was swiftly corrected), having to put in effort to get enough bottled water.

Pros: Great resort. Employees were friendly and accommodating. Room was very spacious and had two bathrooms. Favorite restaurant was the Italian Taberna but enjoyed all our meals. Kids spent so much time in the lazy river and pools. Would definitely return. Downsides: Construction is ongoing for the next month at the infinity pool area so it was closed and there was noise from jackhammers during parts of the day. Online menus not available for all restaurants which is difficult when trying to choose. All inclusive guests have to sign checks even if there are no charges. Ocean isn’t swimmable in front of resort.

Spa experience was awful. They watch you and wait for you at each station. Like I have never been in a pool or sauna before. The windows see directly in the spa from outside. Zero privacy. The food is ok. Had minor stomach issues all week and now home a week they finally let up. Doesn’t feel like a resort at all. Just a hotel with a lazy river. Can’t even out your feet in the ocean. Back to Grand Fiesta Americana. A real resort feeling.

My family and I loved this resort. There were five of us, ranging from 3-75 in age, and we all had a blast during the 6 all inclusive nights we were there. The resort was really well maintained, staff were wonderful, restaurants were better than average for all inclusive, room service was great, and the rooms were very spacious. The gym was also quite spacious, nice and new. Only a few downsides - 1) There is no onsite walk-up coffee shop that is part of the all-inclusive experience (you have to go to a restaurant or order room/pool service). 2) Guests are SAVAGE with reserving chairs at the pools. Most spots are taken by 9am. 3) Book reservations for dinner in advance!!! There are only two sit down restaurants and it was a big mistake on my part to try to book before we got there, but I didn’t think it would be an issue. The buffets were great but the steakhouse was fully booked and the italian restaurant could only get us reservations a few nights, but only after 8pm. I was not impressed by how the concierge supported me in making reservations or their general reservation process, either. 4) As I mentioned, It’s super family friendly but as a person without kids, I could not in good faith recommend this hotel to someone who was child free or single. Though there is an adults-only pool, there was no night life and things wind down early and if you want to do anything after dinner you would have to leave the resort.

We had a great stay with our family of 5 (3 teens) in a two bedroom suite for 4 nights. The resort is gorgeous and well maintained. We used the gym and swam in all 3 pools and tried all of the restaurants. Pros: Great room, food is excellent, pools are clean and lovely. Lazy River was a nice bonus. Loved that we could order food and eat poolside. Resort is stunningly gorgeous. Cons: The infinity pool closed on our 3rd day there. Luckily we spent day 1 and 2 there knowing it was about to close for remodeling. We weren’t expecting to hear jackhammers for the next two days so that was disappointing. Plus we lost the great views of the ocean and coastline. If you are wanting to book I would wait until after this remodel is finished. Also having the all inclusive plan and still having to close out checks poolside and at every restaurant is exhausting. We always bring plenty of cash to tip our waiters so if they were doing it for that reason, it was extra unnecessary. Y'all really need to figure out a way to not burden your all inclusive guests with these worthless bills. Literally no other resort does this. Also they were lacking in entertainment options in the evenings especially for adults. Otherwise a great family resort!

Everything about the resort was amazing! Downsides, non-swimmable beach and they changed how the kids club wasn't part of the all inclusive package. But it didn't stop us and our kid had a blast each time he went!

Fantastic for families - lazy river is great, several pools/hot tubs. Great Mexican buffet for breakfast and dinner. Awesome family retreat.

Property very nice overall, positives the food was excellent, housekeeping and grounds are phenomenal. Much more of a relaxing resort. Negatives- front desk/ check in process is not so great. They didn’t give me any type of details about resort. I didn’t even know they had a kids club till the 3rd day. Amenities suck! No really good info on any planned entertainment throughout the resort. No music along the pool. No pool bar at all. The bars around property are pretty much at the restaurants only and you can’t just go and ask for a drink besides the lobby bar. When your hanging out at pool and just want a quick drink you have to wait for staff to go around pool. Would not stay at property again.

The place was nice overall but it was lacking a few things. Drinks were served at the pool only between 12 and 5pm. It took forever to get the drinks delivered and something about serving food at the pool but not pizza. Getting pizza required dressing up and sitting the cafe at the pool which also served all the other food right at the pool but somehow not pizza. Also no music by the pool. Just dead silence.

Lazy river was green the first few days. Pool service was slow. Only 3 restaurants Beds very comfortable.

Pools were great. Beautiful view of Sea of Cortez. Very clean.

In short: This resort is not 5 stars! Had it been advertised as a 3 star hotel, I would have given it 5 stars! Pros: - the food quality was good - Pool water was heated and - it had an infinity pool with beach view Cons: - there were only 3 restaurants and one of the was a buffet. - too many things were not included in the “all inclusive” services! While we expected that the prime steak would be extra charge, we didn’t expect refilling the beer in the room would get charged! - the “ocean view” rooms are not ocean view. If you walk out in the balcony and look to your left, then you will see the ocean! Otherwise, the view of your window is the building of the resort!

Hotel is pretty new and nice. AC was not working properly in the room. Restaurants were too busy and almost impossible to get anywhere. LA patrons breakfast was good. Latitude was excellent Stuff were great Hotel managers were hard to find Room service was super late. Sometimes they forgot or an hour before you get even a glass of milk.

The property is conveniently located between downtown Cabo and San Jose. Hotel is brand new and rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. Laundry in room was a bonus. Lazy river is fun for kids and a great workout for adults walking opposite direction. Gym was fabulous and had great equipment. Spa was coed for main area and had wonderful amenities- jacuzzi, plunge pool, jets, sauna, etc. They do add a $40 facility fee and don’t tell you. That was disappointing. Three places to eat - two required reservations and one was a walk up. Food was pretty good - not amazing. We couldn’t get a reservation for the first night since people book for the entire week. The buffet dinner was not great but maybe that was because it was Carribean night?! Drinks at restaurants were well done. The servers work really hard! But the hardest part at this hotel during December is that you had to wake up SOO early on vacation (6:30am) to get seats by the ocean / pool view. Seats on the north side of the hotel were often cold and in the shade. Also the pools towards the back got very little service because they are so far from the bar/grill. We learned the first day and then service was better by moving closer towards the beach/restaurant. The seating situation would disuade us from returning again. We wanted to be on vacation but we did get to see great sunrises.

Room was excellent-large, big patio, bidet in bathroom Pools were heated and plenty of spas. Service people were warm and efficient Needed more staff for check in and check out

Resort is on the smaller side and there isn’t a whole lot to do if you like some of the activities that other all inclusives typically have; overall, the experience was good, resort is clean, rooms are spacious and most of the staff are very attentive. Only two actual restaurants to make reservations at (steak house and Italian) and then a buffet (only open for breakfast and dinner) and pool side spot to eat. On the first night, our room was located right below the lobby and we could hear the dragging of metal chairs every couple of hours. Mentioned this to the check in staff and they switched our room the next day - they were very accommodating and helpful. Location of the hotel is convenient if you plan on going to San Jose or Cabo San Lucas. About a 20 minute Uber ride to either. Gorgeous views from the infinity pool if you get up early enough to get a chair. You need to be there by about 6:30/7am if you want a spot. Other pools are bigger and much easier to get chairs at. Would recommend to families and those who want a laid back, relaxing vacation without all the entertainment that some of the bigger chains have.

It’s a nice resort, with amenities and service similar to other 4.5-5 star resorts we experienced in Mexico. Beautiful grounds but wish the territory was bigger as there is not much outside of the hotel. Loved the huge lazy river, infinity pool and activities. Staff were pleasant, courteous and quick to serve. Happy we got a room upgrade from the first floor pool view room - it was just too dark. Enjoyed the a la cart restaurants and buffet, interestingly, buffet options are not as expansive as other resorts offer. Loved the lobby bar and a variety of non-alcoholic cocktails they offer in addition to the regular stuff. Wonderful room service. Nice modern rooms with thoughtful amenities. The weather was awesome. Beach unfortunately not swimmable due to strong waves. Overall, very pleasant stay and experience.

The property was very nice and the lazy river was awesome along with the pool and restaurant staff. That was all ruined by the hotel manager she suggested I go to the restaurant for my own reservations because the concierge their soul job was too sell timeshare memberships/ appointments. That 2 1/2 hour experience was equally as bad. I definitely would not be recommending this place to friends or family and won’t be going back myself regardless of how much I liked the property and the other staff

The property was nice and new. It's well maintained and employs friendly staff. There are a few things that was not to my liking. The concierge is not concierge but rather a disguised timeshare salesman. They asked if I needed anything a few times but never did the things I asked and still attempted to sell me on timeshare. The next thing is that there is NO AC in the restaurants. We were eating and sweating at the same time as the temperature was the same inside and out (about 88 degrees). The last thing was they nickel and dime you on tide pods and sell them at $1.30 each. I really don't mind paying as it is not expensive but the hassle of having us go down to the resort store to buy it is a big disappointment. It's all inclusive so those should be included. They will serve me multiple alcoholic drinks and tuna sashimi which cost significantly more but won't give me Tide pods to do my kids' laundry. This blows my mind. Overall, the experience was great. The food was good and the staff friendly and attentive. I spent 7 days there and our TIP Bill was about $500 USD. They use prices they would charge you if you were not on the all inclusive plan to ask you to tip.

The rooms are very nice. We had a one bedroom suite and loved it. The service is VERY slow. It's very difficult to get drinks at the pool. After dining or getting drinks, you need to sign your receipt even if using the all inclusive package. Getting your receipt takes forever. This resort is definitely for the age of 60 or families with very young kids. The resort is very nice, but if you want any music at the pool or fast drink service, you are better off going somewhere else.

Check in was easy. They try to pressure you in buying a timeshare *dont do it”. Rooms: clean and very modern. Restaurants: decent but not many options at all. Buffett was very limited. Same stuff everyday. Service at the restaurants besides the pool and the steakhouse were very slow. No one pre bussed their tables, drinks arrived way late and it took forever to get your tab. *need to sign for everything*. Looked like they had way more guest than servers. Pool was nice but really warm. Beach is off limits to swim due to the current. Property was clean. Very limited on activities. Shows at el patron only lasted for an hour. For the amount of money you spend for an all inclusive, I would recommend another resort. Wouldn’t be surprised I get an automated response back from the resort.

One of the worst experiences at an all inclusive. Each and every item (bottle of water even) needed to have a receipt printed, presented, you have to write your room #, name and sign. For "inventory". Each time we wanted food or drinks - min one hour. Even for a salad. 12 year olds with wristbands denied ANY FOOD OR WATER because they were told they were not allowed to sign. They had to get me, I had to get out of the pool, walk and sign for every morsel of food or drink. 45 min for a towel to the room and pool bins frequently empty. Waited over an hour for coffee to the room (because the coffee packet was just a welcome gift and not replenished) and eas served a pot of hot beige water (like they forgot to brew with grounds). That was it! I called the manager and blew my top - we were all having a miserable.time. AND we had friends that also were staying. They had 2 teens and 2 adults and given One king and one cot. For a week. We had one day the staff was on high alert but my friends said it went downhill supersonic fast after that. Just an awful, awful waste of a beautiful property and waste of our time and money. We have been to many all inclusives around Mexico and thought we'd "treat" ourselves. Ended up with a huge trick.

Property was gorgeous and staff were very helpful and polite. This hotel has everything you could want at an all inclusive! Food and drinks were great at every restaurant! We had such a fun and relaxing time. We have already recommended this place to family and friends! Also loved that it was right in between San Jose and Cabo San Lucas - easy Uber rides to each. Our only complaint was if you didn’t get a reservation for dinner, there was pretty much no option besides room service, which takes forever and isn’t anything special in terms of quality. They do warn you about reservations, but of course, plans can change and then you’re stuck. They should have another small market available at dinner time for those who need it. All and all, an amazing stay though!!

The grounds and the staff are wonderful. The room was also very nice. If you can get a chair at the infinity pool at this time of year (Feb) whales are everywhere. The food it also very good we had the all- inclusive package and we were not disappointed. Keep in mind this is a family resort so expect children of all ages. Thier is an adults only pool however it gets the least amount of sunshine and you cannot see the ocean from the chairs. I would highly recommend this resort

Great family vacation spot. Nice new hotel with awesome heated pools, great family suites with lots of amenities. We purchased the all inclusive option but were surprised at a couple of’ service fees’ and additional food charges at the end of our stay. Make sure you are clear on what is included and what isn’t with the ‘All Inclusive’ package. Also, make sure you book your dinner reservations with the two restaurants on their website BEFORE your stay. By the time we checked in- it was already too late and they were already booked throughout the entire week for dinners. Also, not sure what it was but my two daughters got food poising one night from something they ordered through room service. We ate at the buffet/ restaurant by the pool the entire week and never had a problem except that one time with room service. Other than that, the hotel was clean- pools were awesome and my kids had a great time.

Nice newer property, clean. Avoid the sales pitch if possible. Very enjoyable dining options and very good food. Staff is a bit hit or miss and never sure how much to tip. Lovely pools but don’t think they’ll cool you off in July…. Only real dislike is no swimming on beach’s as too dangerous. Quiet place so if looking for action and activities maybe go elsewhere

Pros The rooms were exceptionally clean, modern, and spacious. We really enjoyed the food at the Italian restaurant and the steakhouse—both were excellent. Cons: Unfortunately, several aspects of our stay were disappointing. The hotel appears to be poorly managed and understaffed. Guests are frequently asked to provide their room numbers for nearly every service, and the amount of paperwork involved—especially for larger groups—is overwhelming for both guests and staff. Wait times were excessive; at one point, we waited over 25 minutes just to be seated at a restaurant. The food at the buffet is terrible. The pool area was also disappointing. It is quite small, and the water in all the pools was uncomfortably hot—more like a hot tub than a swimming pool. Pool chairs were always in short supply, and staff were rarely present to take drink orders. Additionally, it felt like the hotel was cutting corners on small but important guest amenities. For example, in-room coffee is only provided on the first day—even for all-inclusive guests, who must then purchase it. After checkout at 11 a.m., all amenities are cut off: no access to water, no internet, and no dining. This felt unnecessarily strict. The lack of entertainment was also disappointing. The evenings were dull, with no organized events or activities. If you're seeking a lively resort with entertainment options, this is unfortunately not the place.

Great family vacation spot. Nice new hotel with awesome heated pools, great family suites with lots of amenities. We purchased the all inclusive option but were surprised at a couple of’ service fees’ and additional food charges at the end of our stay. Make sure you are clear on what is included and what isn’t with the ‘All Inclusive’ package. Also, make sure you book your dinner reservations with the two restaurants on their website BEFORE your stay. By the time we checked in- it was already too late and they were already booked throughout the entire week for dinners. Also, not sure what it was but my two daughters got food poising one night from something they ordered through room service. We ate at the buffet/ restaurant by the pool the entire week and never had a problem except that one time with room service. Other than that, the hotel was clean- pools were awesome and my kids had a great time.

The staff was great and welcoming. The food was gourmet quality at the various restaurants. Needs more breakfast restaurants and the cleaning staff needs improvement. Spa services were great!

We had a great stay with our family of 5 (3 teens) in a two bedroom suite for 4 nights. The resort is gorgeous and well maintained. We used the gym and swam in all 3 pools and tried all of the restaurants. Pros: Great room, food is excellent, pools are clean and lovely. Lazy River was a nice bonus. Loved that we could order food and eat poolside. Resort is stunningly gorgeous. Cons: The infinity pool closed on our 3rd day there. Luckily we spent day 1 and 2 there knowing it was about to close for remodeling. We weren’t expecting to hear jackhammers for the next two days so that was disappointing. Plus we lost the great views of the ocean and coastline. If you are wanting to book I would wait until after this remodel is finished. Also having the all inclusive plan and still having to close out checks poolside and at every restaurant is exhausting. We always bring plenty of cash to tip our waiters so if they were doing it for that reason, it was extra unnecessary. Y'all really need to figure out a way to not burden your all inclusive guests with these worthless bills. Literally no other resort does this. Also they were lacking in entertainment options in the evenings especially for adults. Otherwise a great family resort!

The rooms are very nice however I don’t think I would go back due to limited dining options. It was hard to get a reservation at the two restaurants so that only left the buffet and the biggest problem was that there were too many guests for the amount of lounge chairs by the pools. If you wanted a lounge chair, you had to get up before seven to try and save one..

Very family friendly. Quiet without much nightlife. Food is okay and the service takes a long time at the steak house. Italian is good and fast with much better service. Entertaining staff is not that entertaining.

The entire experience from beginning to end was top notch. The hotel was clean. Noticed grounds keepers and pools being cleaned every morning. Rooms were cleaned twice a day. Food was amazing. The staff were all friendly and warm. Entertainment team was super fun! We will definitely go back and highly recommend this hotel.

The property was very nice with a lazy river and a zero edge pool. But it was hard to get a cup of coffee to go because you had to go up to the buffet station and have a staff member get it and then sign for it to go. There was no available coffee stations to go to in the morning. You could get a cup of coffee with breakfast but if you wanted coffee later you would need to go search it out. Very frustrating if you’re a coffee drinker in the morning. I was paying for all inclusive and had to sign for everything which was a real pain. Had a really hard time getting a lounge chair in the morning. By 7:30-8:00am every chair was taken. This is also a problem in these resorts. People saving seats at 6:00am in the morning without anyone in them.
