What a neat historical hotel! The hotel was beautiful and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was very cozy and very well furnished. We really enjoyed the extra sitting area in the evening. The breakfast was very good too! Really appreciated the free coffee and cookies available in the entry and the bar was super nice. Probably the best part of this hotel was the great location! Right down the street from The Niagara State Park! The staff told us we could go up to the very top floor and view the fireworks they did over the Falls every night too! That was a great way to view them! The area around the hotel had several restaurants and the parking was in a secure gated lot right across the street. If your going to the park, this is definitely the hotel to stay in!

Very cool feel to the hotel. Room price was fair. Room was very comfortable and nicely appointed. Rooftop viewing lounge had fantastic views of the town and falls. Would stay again. Downside: no onsite restaurant. Niagara Falls is hurting for nice eateries. Saving grace: Lewiston NY 9 miles north, great restaurants.

Nice, classic style hotel. Not a ton of extras — the bar is only open for very limited hours — but the hot breakfast was good and the Skyview Lounge is a nice observation area. Secure, gated self-parking is a plus.

A beautiful reconditioned older hotel in downtown Niagara Falls with very secure parking and an excellent breakfast included. It also has a 19th floor lounge (no bar) to see the whole area, but not a direct view of the falls. It's easy walking distance to the park and maidof the mist.

Situated in a quiet corner near Niagara state park. however, have access to food and souvenirs shops, Casino and Hard Rock Cafe. This is the 2nd stay here and given a better room than the earlier one 2 days ago. Hotel does not provide luggage storage for over 24 hrs, which is strange for a boutique hotel. Was going over to Canadian side for 1 day and return the following day. Only manage to get approval from manager upon a payment for a bag for storage over 24hrs. A aged but quite comfortable hotel with very small gym at basement. A short 15 mins walk to the Rainbow Bridge to crossover to the Canadian side. Quick immigration check for both sides.

The staff was SO KIND and helpful. The hotel is just VERY OLD. It could have had a deep cleaning. I was attracted to the hotel for the old vibes but there was just a lot of things that were very dirty it stained.

Good room size, location is close to the falls - rest all is terrible. Dirty furniture in the room, really dates drapes and curtains, parking lot is across the street and reminds you of dodgy parking lots around sports stadiums. Con webbed entrance gates and entry pads. Bed won’t be made if you leave something innocuous as a dress behind on it. Staff quite defensive and unable to help when you bring these items to their attention.

It's a 100+ year old building, so don't expect much. There were loud water flowing sounds at night that woke us up. We thought we had a large leak in our bathroom. But the noise was elsewhere. The outside garbage trucks were making lots of noise at 5am. Again waking us. TV didn't work and found a large cockroach in the bathroom. On the good side the staff was friendly, helpful and great.

All the windows were covered in dust and cobwebs from the outside. Most of the staff were pretty unfriendly Hot water for only 4-5m we couldnt even fill the bathtub up a quarter way before we lost all hot water. Bathtub jacuzzi it self was broken. Bed mattress quality was horrible and very cheap. We all woke up with pretty bad back pain after sleeping. For the amount of money they ask, this hotel is way too cheap and old.

Disappointed in the cleanliness and staff did not follow through with promise to complete turndown service while we were out for over 6 hours. More than enough time to properly clean a room after it was brought to their attention. Sky view lounge also disappointing the lookout windows were disgusting and covered in spiders. Manger acted like they were trying to make it right but with no follow through it was empty words. This was extremely frustrating since this is the first and only time I’ve ever had to make a complaint during a hotel stay and it was handled very poorly. They did compensate some of our stay, but considering we also had problems with the parking plus all of the room issues, it seems like they should have done more.

The property in no way resembled the marketing that online. The cleanliness of the hotel was poor, especially the bathroom which had towels and other debris under the sink form previous guests. The breakfast was very poor, all served on cardboard plates and plastic cutlery.

It seemed there was a leak from the hot tub into the room below as I had staff knock on my room door about 20 mins after I emptied the hot tub / jacuzzi. I was asked if I had used the hand held shower head which is part of the jacuzzi unit which I hadn’t nor had I spilt any water on the floor other than a small amount that may have come off my body when drying off beyond the towel I had in the floor. I did not use the hot tub:jacuzzi on the second night for this reason as I was doubtful about the plumbing working correctly should I empty it after use.

Probably one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at. Large rooms with high ceilings, huge bathroom and a really cool, old retro vibe with soft lighting and mood music playing when you step into your room. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the bathroom was absolutely huge. The bed was very comfortable. I would absolutely recommend this hotel. Also very close to Niagra Falls State Park and all of its attractions.

Room was on the 14th floor, their old Hospitality suite. Large with a view of Falls and summer fireworks. Convenient walk to everything in Niagara Falls park, which is nice, but outside of about a four block radius, neighborhood is VERY sketchy. Staff is helpful and friendly, HOWEVER, the room was not super clean, there is NO room service at all, or laundry. When we specifically booked for those reasons. We asked the front desk and we were told that there are people that live in the buildings “condos” that can have laundry done every Wednesday, and if you were a long term guest MAYBE they could throw your in. We were there for a special celebration and wanted to order room service, we were told no room service at all. There is a bar downstairs open 5-10pm. No food or other options. Pictures of the rooms show. Show art deco furniture and curtains, and a pool table. We paid over $425 a night for a suite that had none of that either. Whirpool “jetted” tub was not working either. We confronted them about all the amenities that were listed on the website and they just smiled and shrugged their shoulders!?No compensation offered. Pretty unhappy. Breakfast and beds were good.

Interesting hotel, especially Art deco design. Lighting in room was odd; the lamp on one side of the bed was too high to reach without standing up. There were, I think, 5 tall lamps scattered in the room. Also, the heating/AC system seemed impossible to shut off and gurgled a great deal. Finally, the bathroom floor was very slippery when wet and there should be additional grab bars. On the plus side, the bed was compfy, the room pretty quiet, the location superb, the breakfast above average and price was right.

Weekend getaway. Our room was really cold and we were quickly moved to a suite with a fire place. The heat didn’t work in this room either but the fire place kept us warm. Water pressure in the shower was dismal. Breakfast was just ok.

Overall it was a good stay. There was a lack of outlets near the bed, which made plugging in a CPAP difficult. Additionally, with the eco-friendly timers on the outlets the lights and the CPAP would shut off. The breakfast options were good, but not what I expected from a 4-star hotel. It was similar to what a standard hotel offers for hot breakfast. The hand sanitizer in the hallways smelled awful when used. It was difficult to go to the 19th floor to see the fireworks from the "lounge," because the room was very small and so many people were in it, and there was only one elevator going to the top. You couldn't pick the elevator to get on when hitting the up button, because one button controls both elevators.

The hotel was very historical in feel, the staff was very generous pleasant and helpful. We had a minor issue upon arrival but they managed to resolve the situation with elegance and upgraded our room to a beautiful suite free of charge which was totally awesome. If we are ever back in the Niagara area we will definitely be staying there again. Also it is literally a 5 minute walk to the Niagara Falls state park and if you want to go to the casino it’s a short 5 min walk there also.

We were a late Arrival at this hotel and the front desk staff were waiting for us and the bar staff (Felix) even stayed open so that we could have a drink. If I had any criticism of this hotel, it would be that the ceilings could do with a paint but the decoration on the whole is fantastic and in keeping with the property. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you are planning on stopping on the US side for your visit.

The Giacomo is great in theory, but the reality is quite disappointing. The rooms are old charm with modern upgrades (bathrooms, Keurig). Most staff are slothful. Front desk girl knew I was there for check in but ignored me. I said “hello” a few times but to no avail. I finally realized there was a bell so rang it and she finally came out. Then she mis-charged the amount due and ended up calling the room to say “come down and pay”, which was annoying but things happen. The breakfast crew looked as though they had an aversion to smiling. When I said good morning, thank you, or just smiled at staff they just gave me a weird blank stare. The bartender was even rude and lazy. She didn’t even acknowledge us when we came in, sitting on a chair watching TV, ignoring us. Then when she realized we were buying drinks she pepped up pretty fast. The only friendly employee: the lady who helped me check out- she actually smiled. Parking in is a minor pain. Finding your parking spot is weird since numbered spots aren’t chronological. The cost for this hotel is obscenely overpriced for what you get. At certain points, their lowest cost room (basic bed/TV/bathroom) was $603! We ended up spending $335 which I’ll kick myself for until the memory hopefully slips from my mind permanently. Also, staff let random homeless people sleep in the lounge. So if you value safety, the money you work hard for, and politeness, stay somewhere else.

First impressions were not great. Couldn’t find parking, when I called, the gentleman I spoke to wasn’t friendly at all. Clearly he was sick of people calling asking where to park. He was short, didn’t say his name and hung up on me. When we finally arrived, parking in the 15 minute loading zone on the side of the building (that is horribly located inside of the next doors hotel parking lot) we were not greeted, the girl had zero customer service and was also clearly over working there. While checking in you could hear the employees venting and cursing about cleaning the hotel, extremely disgruntled employees. The nightshift and morning front desk employees were very pleasant. The rooms were okay. Very old building so the room was decent for its age. I went to make a cup of coffee in the morning and there were dead bugs in the cup. Great waking distance to everything. Make sure to ask for a room with a view.

When we arrived, there was no one at the front desk. We could see staff in the room behind the desk, having drinks and relaxing quick service. Our breakfast when Coco was hosting was great. The next day the service was terrible when she was not there. They kept running out of food and coffee. We had towels for one person when we arrived and requested more, which we had to repeat our request before getting a response. My husband requested they refill the coffee in the lobby one morning and the Lady at the front desk said she had just filled it and would check on it in 10 minutes so my husband waited. After 20 to 30 minutes he requested this again and she gave him the same response obviously having never checked it. She was not friendly and did not represent the hotel well. The location was good, but we will stay somewhere else next time.

What a neat historical hotel! The hotel was beautiful and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was very cozy and very well furnished. Probably the best part of this hotel was the great location! Right down the street from The Niagara State Park! This was our first time visiting Niagara Falls and we had a wonderful stay at The Giacomo. The building's long history does show at places, but it was clear that the manager and staff put in their heart and soul into maintaining the facilities in good shape. Here are a random assortment of things we enjoyed: - The Giacomo has the best view of the Falls. It is the highest building located adjacent to the park on the US side. We brought a few drinks with us to the skyview lounge on the 19th floor and enjoyed the beautiful fireworks. - The location is very convenient. It is among a handful of hotels/inns in the area where everything is within walking distance. - We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. The dining hall could get a bit congested during peak time, but the experience was certainly a plus to what had already been a positive experience. - All the staff members were friendly and courteous. Lenny (who I believe is the general manager?) went above and beyond to accommodate any requests we had. Thank you! - All the restrooms--in our room, the bar, the skyview lounge--were extremely clean and well-maintained which is always a very important factor in my book. Overall, I would recommend this establishment and would stay here again if I am able visit again in the future.

The hotel was good. It’s not fancy but it is clean. The room is very dark so we did end up sleeping later than normal so we didn’t make it to the breakfast service. It is a convenient location to walk to the Niagara Falls. There is nothing to do on the US side for the falls. We spent one day walking around the Niagara state park but majority of our time was spent on the Canadian side.

Had a great 2 night stay at the Giacomo. Parking is gated and directly across the street. It is depressed neighborhood but safe and walkable. It is in a touristy area and very close to the rapids and road to goat island. There are several food trucks during the day and a few evening dining options. Breakfast was typical hotel buffet style and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It is actually part condo and part hotel. There are some decor issues which could be improved but overall very pleasant.

Pros The hotel is pretty neat once entering. The outside has neat mayan relief and art. Once inside, the lobby is nice and the front desk customer service is great. The beds and pillows are comfy and the size of our bed was a king so there was plenty of room to spread out. Cons The shower was an open concept meaning the water runs out into the rest of the bathroom to a drain in the middle of the floor. No raised retaining walls to keep the bathroom floor from getting wet. No microwave which was a bummer for my hubby who needed to reheat his dinner. Loud, exposed, ventilation pipes running through ceiling within the rooms. Not covered at all so loud steam noises through the night. Sink clogged with hair. Told customer service about it. They said they'd take care it. Would I stay again...maybe if I got a different room.

It's equivalent to the Holiday Inn Express. Tje pictures make it look much more elegant than it is. The breakfast was continental, with powered eggs and sausage pucks in warmers. Very disappointed. Should have just booked with one of the nearby hotels and saved the $80, gotten a good breakfast elsewhere.

Downside: no onsite restaurant. Niagara Falls is hurting for nice eateries. Saving grace: Lewiston NY 9 miles north, great restaurants.

The property in no way resembled the marketing that online. The cleanliness of the hotel was poor, especially the bathroom which had towels and other debris under the sink form previous guests. The breakfast was very poor, all served on cardboard plates and plastic cutlery.

We love this property, everything is walkable, falls are 4 minutes away walking! If you go to 18 floor you have a view to the falls i love it! Staff super friendly and room super super clean!
