The staff here is so friendly and helpful!!!! Wonderful people! The view is so beautiful! The sunrise, sunsets and clouds with the clear view of the mountains is literally breathtaking! I feel safe here and I love my car is right outside the door and they have cameras to ensure everyone’s safety!

Pet friendly easy parking good location

Parking was easy and secure. The room was very clean. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. This is the most pet friendly hotel in the area. I travel with 3 dogs. Almost ALL hotels have a 1 or 2 pet limit, weight and breed restrictions, and charge a fee ($25 or more) for each pet per night. The fees at Budget Host are much more reasonable. This is my go to when I am staying in the area.

You have to pay a fee to park your car here after you already pay 160 a night. The tv is garbage it turns on and off at will. The one nice feature is the bed. I’ve had better stays at a motel 6 for less than half the price.

I’m lucky I didn’t kill myself driving or have an accident and kill somebody else. What a horrific experience!

Stayed here as it was the only place in town that would accept our dogs. We appreciate that they are dog friendly. In spite of a reservation mistake on my end, the young man at the front desk was exceptionally helpful and polite. The first room we were given did not have the beds made. The room was a bit of a mish mash with 70’s decor mixed with recently renovated floors and fixtures. The door was very hard to open but the room was decently clean and comfortable. The price was great! For a quick highway stay especially with pets, we would recommend.

Like that I can have my dog and smoke

As a smoker, I appreciate being able to have a smoking room. Too many places no longer have this option.

Could use maintenance work. Easy parking in front of my room was nice. Tiny TV. Well placed outlets was nice too.

Traveling to santa fe with my mother(who has parkinson's). We needed to stop.. most other places were already booked, so we had limited choices. 1st- the staff was friendly, I have no complaints about them. The room was atrocious. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in decades. There was a thick layer of dust on the tv, the sheets were stained and had holes, the sink faucet had splatters from the previous people that were in there(tooth brushing splatters), the toilet seat was lifted as tho it was cleaned, but there were pee splatters all over. Mold in the shower tracks, mold in the fridge! Thank god for lysol disinfectant wipes and luckily having our own pillows and blankets!!! I really feel like they should be paying me to stay here. The door was so hard to open and close, I went to go get us some dinner and when I came back, I had to get a staff member to come and help open it. I would have tried to get us a different place, but with my moms parkinsons, it was almost out of the question by then.. I don't think I'll be able to sleep here tonight. Great job Budget Host, putting a tired and weary traveler back out on the road.

We had already driven 13 hours when we started looking for a cheaper hotel. Initially we looked in Raton, but the poor reviews about cleanliness, etc, for the budget hotels in that area made us decide to drive the extra half hour to get to this hotel. We were not disappointed! The hotel was immaculate and well-kept, though older. The sheets and towels were newer, and the beds comfortable. Check-in was so easy, and the view in the morning (we had a mountain view room) was grand. Be aware that there is no breakfast, and the rooms are on the smaller side. I would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I checked in 10/18 at 5:30pm. Check in was ok. Nothing special. We took our stuff to room 110 then left to grab dinner. Upon return we attempted to go to sleep. When we pulled back the sheets we found they had never been changed from the previous occupant. Pubic hair and stains were present. The office guy did put us in room 113, and although the bed linen appeared to be fresh, the rest of the room was dirty. Dust balls in the bathroom corner, a half roll of toilet paper and the room had a cigarette smoke smell. I checked out on 10/20. Needless to say, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Spend a few more $ and get a room where housekeeping does their job. I wish I could call my bank and dispute the charges but can’t since I did stay there. But I will not go back that’s for sure…

It’s an older property but that ends up being part of its charm. The view is gorgeous and it’s close to town. The room is very clean and has everything we need. Staff is friendly. Will definitely stay here again.

Very dirty, walls of room were stained and there were dead flies smeared all over the room

The staff was friendly and got us in our room quickly. I don’t mind old furnishings, but the bathroom needed cleaned.

Extremely clean room, new soft yet thick towels. The interior rooms are very quiet. Very friendly staff. No price gouging even right before the local annual bike race. Very affordable. I would definitely recommend this place. I love cats, I especially enjoy seeing cats playing around on the back parking lots. Apparently staff members are feeding the cats. It just warms your heart knowing that people care about these street cats.

We checked in around 10 pm, my husband went straight to sleep. I sleep with the tv on. It had no signal! Couldn't have someone come,to check it. It was outdated. The floor creeked when you walked on it. The curtains were not wide enough to cover entire window, the light came in and reflected straight to where i was sleeping. Then early the air conditioner brought in a horrific skunk smell! Definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel.

This was a pretty great motel for the price! They are trying REALLY hard to renovate the entire place and their efforts are showing. The bed was comfortable, TV, microwave, and fridge worked great! New floors and bathroom have been updated. They still have a ways to go, but I would stay here again.

The front side of the property is constantly and brightly lit, and the drapes are not long enough to block out the light; also, there was not coffee or breakfast the next morning, and nobody was in the lobby at checkout.

I booked this motel as a inexpensive and convenient place to stay on my way to Montrose. I just slept there, but the room was clean and it was quiet. My only complaint was that they don't have smart TV's so I couldn't stream anything. But, cable was fine.

I stayed one night while traveling. This is an older property that has made an effort to update the fixtures, furniture, and beds. Beds were comfortable (felt “newish”), but rooms need a good coat of paint and curtains need some help. This place is very underwhelming from the outside, but for the price I thought this was a good place to stay.

Old property. Beds on wheels. Tile over and the bed moves. Door didn’t lock properly snd the tv didn’t work. Not the safest are. Staff very pleasant

Mandy and the Owner went above and beyond and provided transportation, due to lack of availability of accessible transportation in the area.

Stay was fine. Only complaint is lack of maid service. I stayed from a Monday till the following Saturday and I never had anyone bring me clean towels, or empty the trash, which normally are the only things I need during a stay. I can make the bed but during a week stay, people will need towels. I will stay there again because of the price and the convenience but I’ll bring extra towels next time.

Art at the front desk was and is a blessing. His kindness, warmth, and he was very welcoming. My vehicle broke down last Friday heading to Loveland from Houston TX and we were devastated. We were stranded here in Trinidad (we never been here) and I used up all of my AAA tows trying to get my vehicle fixed. Art went over and beyond to make sure my sonand I. He even called his mechanic to fix my vehicle and his mechanic came to the hotel driving from Weston. Our experience here was great. Thank you Art! More than Great customer service!

We were originally supposed to stay in Pueblo on our trip home to Texas.... however, they said that they couldn't guarantee the safety of our truck or anything left in the pickup's bed.... so we debated the odds and went south...looking at hotels.com we found the Trinidad Budget Host online. The desk clerk was terrific and helpful..... the room was clean...but there was no breakfast nor any hot coffee in the hall.....and no cafe/fast food place, as the hotel is on the south side of town, and we were heading south.

The property is by itself on a hill. It is a mile away from the city. Drove through the city. It was very small town feel. Every food place you can think of is within two miles plus a Wal Mart.

pot store and Wendys walking distance can't beat it

Great place to stay for the value or cost of the room. Clean room with comfortable bed. Would definitely stay here again. No breakfast offered but room has microwave and decent sized refrigerator.
