Casa del Jaguar Beach Hotel

The property is old and needs renovation But the real issue was the super loud music the hotel beach bar and those around would play the whole afternoon, impossible to relax And not to mention all the boats coming from the mainland, all of them parking in front of the hotel laguna literally obscuring the nice panorama you would see

Beach was great! Property was small so we could always get a bed on the beach. Pool was never over crowded. Staff was friendly and polite.

It is such a beautiful and clean property. The breakfast is amazing. The pool is beautiful and overlooks the beach. It is really nice to have a reserved bed on the beach with wait service. Can't beat this location! We would absolutely book here again.

Overall the staff was good, especially in the evening. Twice I went to the bar in the early afternoon on two different days and was ignored. Both times I sat for 10 minutes then finally gave up and left. Swimming pool is very cold, which explained why nobody was in it during our entire 7 day stay. We paid $600 a night for this hotel, and it was not all inclusive. The overall service didn't match the price, especially at check out. We were charged for 2 tiny cans of Pringles and three bottles of water. We explained that there were not two cans of Pringles in our room when we arrived. The clerk looked at us like we were idiots and charged us anyway. Additionally, when we arrived we were told that water and coffee in the room was included. We were charged for 3 bottles of water anyway. When we asked why, we were told that only the refillable glass bottle waters were included, not the cheap plastic bottles. We explained that that was not what we were told. Again, a blank stare that insuinated we were stupid or attempting to scam them. So, we were charged $29 for 2 tiny cans of Pringles and 3 cheap, plastic bottles of water. It left a really bad final impression of this very expensive hotel. We visit Isla at least once a year, often twice. This hotel could have earned our repeat business. Unfortunately, it failed to do that.

The property was in a great location. Diego at the reception was very helpful and pleasant. The restaurant could do with a change in evening menu. Sunny and bar staff were excellent. The beach area was very well maintained. Overall we had a great stay and would come back

The staff here is lovely. This hotel is located on a beautiful stretch of beach on Playa Norte with soft white sand. The sea is rather shallow and very safe for swimming. The beach bar offers food and drinks that you can enjoy in the shade of your umbrella on your platform "beach bed". Also, the included daily breakfast was delicious. This location is also very convenient as it is walkable to the Centro area restaurants and shops. I highly recommend it!

This hotel is small and neat. It is on the end of the island so not a lot of extra traffic. There is a bar on the beach that plays loud music, but stops around 6-7pm. They have beach beds reserved only for hotel guests so you don’t run out. Loved the staff!

I’ve stayed in everything from 5 star all inclusive to some down right outdated DIY hotels. Casa Del Jaguar didn’t miss. From the reception to departure everything was handled perfectly. The front desk staff was friendly and very helpful through out our stay. Sonny (spelling) our waiter on the beach every day was on top of everything. We never went thirsty or hungry and although busy, he still had time to converse and answer questions about the area. The beach is conveniently located and beautiful. The infinity pool is situated so that it has a great view, it’s clean and very refreshing. One room had a minor AC issue and it was handled within minutes. One day we had some sargasm blow in on the beach (Mexico is horrible with it right now) and they had a crew of 40ish people rake, and wheelbarrow it all away before 8:30am. I can’t say enough about this place or the staff. If I had one thing I would make someone aware about is that breakfast, while great food, it takes a while. If you’re laid back and in vacation mode, it’s not an issue at all. If you’re in a hurry to get somewhere, you may want to grab something on the go.

The hotel is a quiet, gem located in the chaos that is Playa Norte. The hotel staff was attentive and friendly. The ocean front pool was perfect for people watching and not having to reserve beach loungers was a huge plus. We are looking forward to our next stay.

We wanted a small property, on the beach with a pool and restaurant. Casa del Jaguar was all that and more. Great and caring staff, fantastic breakfast was included. Some music noise in the afternoon if you are super sensitive to such things. Grounds were lovely, well-kept and secure. Completely enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic stay at Casa de Jaguar. In the perfect area with many restaurant options that are walkable and places to rent golf carts nearby. The hotel felt safe, modern and clean. The staff that we interacted with were kind and helpful! Highly recommend

Beautiful room, very clean and in good taste. Patio was nice but weather was too hot to enjoy as it had no shade. Service overall was good but some mediocre/inconsistent service in restaurant that provided breakfast. Great location and easy access to activities and food/drinks in town. I would book again.

The beach had a steady flow of boats bringing in snorkelers, making it lively, but the hotel’s designated sunbed area still felt relaxing. Vendors occasionally passed by, but they were respectful and never intrusive, adding a local touch to the experience without being disruptive. The location was excellent, just an easy 10-minute walk from the ferry, and there were plenty of great restaurants and shops nearby. This made exploring the area very convenient. I highly recommend Casa del Jaguar for anyone looking for a quiet, well-located hotel with exceptional service and relaxing amenities.

Great location, good service, and clean. Rooms was very basic.

It was a great place especially if you want to be literally right next to the beach front. If you can be in the second level for a nice view of the Caribbean Sea. One thing I would change is the naming of the different rooms that they offer. For example the Junior Suite room and the Master Suite room size looked the same however the main difference is the quality counter space and closet is much nicer compare to the Junior Suite. Another thing is the Master Suite has more option on the Free breakfast hence the color difference on the room key ribbon. It would have been nice if they gave at least one free cocktail per day you stay. Also for those who stay at Casa del Jaguar you can use the amenities at the other hotel Na Balam across from this hotel which I didn’t know until two days before my check out of the hotel. Overall the staff their were amazing and I highly recommend this place. Also it’s about a 12 minute walk from the ferry terminal Ultramar.

We spent December 30 and 31 at this property. The island was hopping, rowdy and joyous. Casa del Jaguar was a quiet, elegant oasis from the partying when we needed it. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts, quiet and restful nights of sleep and a fantastic NYE day spent on a daybed in front of the hotel with outstanding service from Gaspar. Special shout out to the receptionist (one was from Brazil and the other from Argentina) who made our check-in super easy and were very welcoming. Also, Federico, from Argentina, who I believe was the restaurant manager was always available to help us with questions and provided solutions. We were four Spanish speakers who live in Yucatan. Our trip was quick and easy in that there were no flights involved, and the ferry was always on time (and not that crowded). It was one of our best trips to Isla Mujeres, and I can't recommend Casa del Jaguar enough. The featured comfortable beds, blackout shades, large balconies, appropriate amenities, etc. Our vist there was about as perfect as it gets.

The staff was absolutely amazing! They were very helpful and prompt when you asked for something at the restaurants, housekeeping or at the front desk. The food and drinks at Oceanus were so good! The rooms were clean and the a/c worked great! The location was absolutely amazing. The water along the beach is incredible, waist deep and so blue. The location is also within walking distance to shops, restaurants and bars.

Quiet cute little place. The area is quiet after the beach clubs close around 7/8PM. There are bars, restaurants, and shopping a few minutes walk away. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Only complaint is that the doors are loud when they close. Might be worth putting a little foam on the frame so you don’t hear your neighbors coming and going so clearly.

This was a special family trip. Our flight arrived late and we were rushing to get to the hotel before 10:30pm, because that was the closing check-in time. We finally got to the hotel at 10:20pm, but NOT A SOUL was in sight, no one was at the front desk to greet up, no email was sent with any instructions or at least a phone call, NOTHING. We finally notice on the side of the counter some sheets of paper with my name, and the fobs for our room. But where was the actual room, no further instructions were provided! So there we were, wandering aimlessly at night trying to figure out where to go! We finally located our room but no one was available to support us with our heavy luggage! No one even assisted when when we left in the AM several days later! Once inside, the room was immaculate and beautiful, the balcony was the perfect setting and we had a hammock. No complaint about the actual room, location, and access to beach front lounging. But when it comes to the service, I was beyond disappointed, I was disgusted that the staff would be so cold and unfriendly! They pride themselves in having a multilingual staff, but they sacrifice actual customers service by getting non-locals to work here. The friendliest staff were the cleaning staff. Their prejudice and judgment of us determined their treatment and utter disregard for us and our stay, perhaps if we were white and privileged we might have received better service, which is a shame in my own country of Mexico!!!

It’s on the beach, but also a very convenient and easily walkable few blocks to the main streets for food and shopping on the north side of the island, and actually about a 15 minute walk from the ferry terminal. The front desk was very helpful with things like renting golf carts, locating various places, and getting around the island. Be aware that the front desk does close at about 10pm each night, so you’ll have to make arrangements in advance if you arrive too late. The restaurant is nice, with friendly staff and right on the beach, and has good food. But because it’s a hotel/resort restaurant, it can be a little more expensive than other places in town. Overall, if you’re looking for a boutique beach front resort experience, then Casa del Jaguar is a great place to stay in Isla Mujeres.

From the minute Diego checked us in until he checked us out our stay was nothing but wonderful! The hotel is really neatly decorated, the best beach in Isla, the food is very very good!! We were so impressed with cocktails and food that we ate almost all meals at the hotel. Very detail oriented!! The service is superb! I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed Casa del Jaguar!!

Great small boutique hotel...awesome location

Casa del Jaguar was recommended by my sister in law. It was everything she said and more. Met the owner as well! Definitely will return. The food and drinks were excellent!
