I normally understand when things go wrong and I’m quick to accept apologies, but this experience left me no choice — this is my first-ever negative review. We stayed for 6 nights and had multiple issues. The oceanfront infinity pool — one of the main reasons we booked — was out of order the entire time. Every day, the manager said, “It will be ready tomorrow,” but it never was. Same excuse for five days. To make things worse, the room next to ours was being renovated. Every morning at 9am, we were woken by loud drilling and hammering. It was impossible to rest. After reporting our concerns and trying to move to another hotel, the manager apologized and offered free breakfast and a 10% refund, which I accepted. That was four weeks ago. Despite following up almost daily, I still haven’t received the refund — just the same vague reply: “The owner will do the refund soon.” Worth to mentioned, the manager’s Golden Retriever (a sweet dog) was constantly walking through chairs, umbrellas, and breakfast tables. It didn’t bother us, but it might bother others. Maybe by now the renovations are done and the pool is fixed. But with so many great options in Tulum, I’d absolutely avoid this hotel and book elsewhere.

I loved our stay at Alquimia hotel! Our room was right on the beach, and the most incredible views on the ocean. We loved our bed, super comfy and our room was very large for our family. We had our baby girl who is 18 months stay in our space too, and they provided us a large enough crib. The kitchenette eas good also, with the basic needs and the fridge was a great size . The day beds on the beach were also super comfy and always available for guests. My only criticisms are the food and drinks are way overpriced so we got most our food at Chedraue and cooked our breakfast and lunch. The pool also isnt really cleaned or maintained well and the area around it is a bit dangerous for children. Staff and so incredible and accomodating! We loved the cleaning crew and the RMT eddy is wonderful! His massages were so good! We all had a fabulous stay !!

It has all the amenities and beach access of a larger resort with a small resort atmosphere.the service was great the staff was friendly and attentive and it was near a convenience store for basic essentials although a larger resort has more socializing you get direct beach access, music, and service and the pool was very clean.Everything youd expect in a tulum resort...rooms were very comfy however it needed a litle more comfortable seating for those that enjoy breaks from playa indoors..

This place is just a dream! Adorable rooms, absolutely perfect beach and view, food and drinks are good but pricey compared to bars and restaurants around. Staff is amazing, friendly and helpful even if they don’t speak much English. They all took good care of my daughter and I, and accommodated all my requests! We were there the last week of October and it wasn’t crowded at all which it was absolutely perfect! Eddy gives the best massages and was awesome with my kid! One of the last nights the staff invited us to release baby sea turtles and that was just a dream coming true! An unforgettable experience!! If I’ll be back to Tulum I will stay here again for sure!

The room water was hot; the AC worked well; staff was courteous. Otherwise, the stay was mediocre. The staff said that the jungle side rooms in which we stayed were just purchase three weeks before. These need work. The lighting at the sink was insanely terrible. There were literally NO towel hooks or bars; no place to put your clothes or suitcase other than on the floor. There were 5 hangars on a wooden bar. When it rained, the water came in under the door and around the windows. The food at the beach was bad at breakfast; good at lunch. There were NO chairs around the pool. The beach chaises and beds were $1,000 pesos for the day. They applied this to you food and drink bill like every beach club but not every hotel. It would have been nice not to have to pay to use a chaise at a beach hotel at which one stays. Cleaning crew forgot to clean our room a couple of times even though we specifically saw them on those days and asked for the cleaning.

Very nice location right on the beach toward the south end of the hotel zone. Very friendly and helpful staff, at the front desk and at the beach. The shaded beach beds under the palm trees are wonderful! Very good food and drinks, but a little expensive. I stayed for 5 days with my 14-year-old son. Our room was nice and clean and had AC that we only used at night to save energúmeno. Not super big room, but I took the cheapest one I could find. Perfec

The staff were all lovely and really friendly! The lady on reception gave us lots of help during our stay when we had questions. The room was beautifully decorated and the beach and the beach club were gorgeous. The drinks and food were delicious and really well priced, compared to some other establishments in the beach zone. The lights in the room / bathroom were very dark - it was quite hard to apply make up and get ready to go out as it was so dark. Our room was next to the road and the music from the bar opposite was very loud and didn’t stop some nights until early hours of the morning. We also were confused by the beach club cabanas - it says they’re free for use of the hotel guests on the hotel listing, but we were told there was a minimum spend of $3000 Mexican pesos to use them…? We didn’t use them because of this which was a shame as that was a big reason for why we made the booking. Other than this, we loved our stay so much and would definitely come back. Watching the sun rise on the beach was such a beautiful experience every morning! We also loved Honey the hotel dog!

This was our first time staying here. We were here for my wife's birthday the place was a awesome. Check in was a breeze, our room was one of those containers ours was called neos, and it was perfect for the minimalist that I am. Cold ac clean towels and no bugs in the room is all i need. Loved the outside open air rest room, water temp for the shower worked, so that was a plus. Room service kept the bedding and towels fresh. Felt safe the whole time. There was a slide lock on the outside fence door and the inside door lock was solid. Our room was really close to the beach and the beach beds were comfortable I fell asleep for awhile out there. The staff was beyond amazing. Some baby sea turtles that hatched didn't make it out the night before and the staff asked us if we'd like to help send the turtles on their way the following night, and we did by releasing them into the sea. We had a delicious breakfast every morning and it was good everytime time. Everyone of the staff I interacted with was very pleasant and extra nice. Smiles all around. Walking distance from many food, shopping, relaxation and adventure options. We made sure to spend 1 whole day beachside and it was spectacular. They keep the area clean and looking great. Check out was at noon and was smooth. I highly recommend this hotel. And will definitely return. Thank you Hotel Alquimia for your hospitality. The room conditions were not great. The walls are very thin and there is a lot of outside noise. There are gaps between the windows and walls so mosquitoes and other bugs get into the room. Additionally, the shower and sink only have salt water which was very inconvenient. The jungle side of the property is in rough condition and not very clean.

We loved our stay at Alquimia and highly recommend it! The staff were so welcoming and attentive and gave us great recommendations. The room was beautiful and kept clean/stocked daily. Our room was steps away from the pool and beautiful beach - it was so easy to get to the cabanas and relax! We also saw wonderful views from the rooftop. The hotel was super close (walking distance) to a pharmacy, grocery store, and many different restaurants, so we felt so connected to everything. It was easy to take a taxi into Tulum Centro, and the staff helped us navigate how to take the colectivos, as well. The only small issue we had was with the WiFi not working, but the staff fixed it promptly! Again, we highly recommend Alquimia and hope to return!

I loved our stay at Alquimia hotel! Our room was right on the beach, and the most incredible views on the ocean. We loved our bed, super comfy and our room was very large for our family. We had our baby girl who is 18 months stay in our space too, and they provided us a large enough crib. The kitchenette eas good also, with the basic needs and the fridge was a great size . The day beds on the beach were also super comfy and always available for guests. My only criticisms are the food and drinks are way overpriced so we got most our food at Chedraue and cooked our breakfast and lunch. The pool also isnt really cleaned or maintained well and the area around it is a bit dangerous for children. Staff and so incredible and accomodating! We loved the cleaning crew and the RMT eddy is wonderful! His massages were so good! We all had a fabulous stay !!

Amazing location just steps from the beach. It’s a neat idea to use shipping containers and with the upgrades, we didn’t feel like we were in them. They extended them out so it’s more than just a container. The inside was Tulum sheek and had all the basics. The bed was a little uncomfortable but maybe it was just our unit. We had the basic and maybe it was more meant for one person. The cabana restaurant was great vibes and we loved how dog friendly it was.

The rooms were nice and clean. Everyday there was fresh water after room cleaning. We came at a bad time so the beach was nasty. The sink and shower water are salty so be careful with that. The staff was great the pool was nice and it was a good stay overall

The room conditions were not great. The walls are very thin and there is a lot of outside noise. There are gaps between the windows and walls so mosquitoes and other bugs get into the room. Additionally, the shower and sink only have salt water which was very inconvenient. The jungle side of the property is in rough condition and not very clean.

Les murs sont très très fin, on entend tout ce qu’il se passe dans les chambres autour, ce qui reste un problème quand certains rentrent à 5h du matin. De plus il n’y avait pas de ventilation dans notre chambre. Impossible de faire sécher une serviette en 2 jours. De grands travaux sont en cours au milieu de l’hôtel juste devant la piscine et d’autre encore plus grand dans l’hôtel d’à côté (double grues et marteau piqueur), ce qui gâche la vue et l’espace entre la piscine et la mer. Le personnel était super et le cadre global était très agréable.

The staff were all lovely and really friendly! The lady on reception gave us lots of help during our stay when we had questions. The room was beautifully decorated and the beach and the beach club were gorgeous. The drinks and food were delicious and really well priced, compared to some other establishments in the beach zone. The lights in the room / bathroom were very dark - it was quite hard to apply make up and get ready to go out as it was so dark. Our room was next to the road and the music from the bar opposite was very loud and didn’t stop some nights until early hours of the morning. We also were confused by the beach club cabanas - it says they’re free for use of the hotel guests on the hotel listing, but we were told there was a minimum spend of $3000 Mexican pesos to use them…? We didn’t use them because of this which was a shame as that was a big reason for why we made the booking. Other than this, we loved our stay so much and would definitely come back. Watching the sun rise on the beach was such a beautiful experience every morning! We also loved Honey the hotel dog!

love the outdoor showers, clean room and service was on point. we wished we could have stayed longer but had prior hotel reservation in the party zone which was not to our liking. Alquimia u outdid yourself. the waiters at the restaurants were very friendly and took great care of us. thank you again for a great stay

I normally understand when things go wrong and I’m quick to accept apologies, but this experience left me no choice — this is my first-ever negative review. We stayed for 6 nights and had multiple issues. The oceanfront infinity pool — one of the main reasons we booked — was out of order the entire time. Every day, the manager said, “It will be ready tomorrow,” but it never was. Same excuse for five days. To make things worse, the room next to ours was being renovated. Every morning at 9am, we were woken by loud drilling and hammering. It was impossible to rest. After reporting our concerns and trying to move to another hotel, the manager apologized and offered free breakfast and a 10% refund, which I accepted. That was four weeks ago. Despite following up almost daily, I still haven’t received the refund — just the same vague reply: “The owner will do the refund soon.” Worth to mentioned, the manager’s Golden Retriever (a sweet dog) was constantly walking through chairs, umbrellas, and breakfast tables. It didn’t bother us, but it might bother others. Maybe by now the renovations are done and the pool is fixed. But with so many great options in Tulum, I’d absolutely avoid this hotel and book elsewhere.

The room water was hot; the AC worked well; staff was courteous. Otherwise, the stay was mediocre. The staff said that the jungle side rooms in which we stayed were just purchase three weeks before. These need work. The lighting at the sink was insanely terrible. There were literally NO towel hooks or bars; no place to put your clothes or suitcase other than on the floor. There were 5 hangars on a wooden bar. When it rained, the water came in under the door and around the windows. The food at the beach was bad at breakfast; good at lunch. There were NO chairs around the pool. The beach chaises and beds were $1,000 pesos for the day. They applied this to you food and drink bill like every beach club but not every hotel. It would have been nice not to have to pay to use a chaise at a beach hotel at which one stays. Cleaning crew forgot to clean our room a couple of times even though we specifically saw them on those days and asked for the cleaning.

This was our first time staying here. We were here for my wife's birthday the place was a awesome. Check in was a breeze, our room was one of those containers ours was called neos, and it was perfect for the minimalist that I am. Cold ac clean towels and no bugs in the room is all i need. Loved the outside open air rest room, water temp for the shower worked, so that was a plus. Room service kept the bedding and towels fresh. Felt safe the whole time. There was a slide lock on the outside fence door and the inside door lock was solid. Our room was really close to the beach and the beach beds were comfortable I fell asleep for awhile out there. The staff was beyond amazing. Some baby sea turtles that hatched didn't make it out the night before and the staff asked us if we'd like to help send the turtles on their way the following night, and we did by releasing them into the sea. We had a delicious breakfast every morning and it was good everytime time. Everyone of the staff I interacted with was very pleasant and extra nice. Smiles all around. Walking distance from many food, shopping, relaxation and adventure options. We made sure to spend 1 whole day beachside and it was spectacular. They keep the area clean and looking great. Check out was at noon and was smooth. I highly recommend this hotel. And will definitely return. Thank you Hotel Alquimia for your hospitality. Beautiful hotel located directly at the beach. The staf is great and delivers good service. The shops and restaurants are all in walking distance of the hotel. Really nice place to get some peace and have nice food and cocktails at the beach!

A small cozy hotel with many advantages. The hotel's beach is magical with a fantastic view out to sea. A small beach bar with food and drinks and lovely sunbeds under the palm trees. The location is quiet and made for relaxation and pure enjoyment. If you want more outdoor life, just follow the beach a little to the north and a little to the south there is an untouched nature reserve as a contrast. The staff's attitude was friendly and service-oriented, which contributed to the positive experience. I am on a round trip for a few weeks and have just decided to change my plans to be able to return to this hotel before returning to Sweden.

It has all the amenities and beach access of a larger resort with a small resort atmosphere.the service was great the staff was friendly and attentive and it was near a convenience store for basic essentials although a larger resort has more socializing you get direct beach access, music, and service and the pool was very clean.Everything youd expect in a tulum resort...rooms were very comfy however it needed a litle more comfortable seating for those that enjoy breaks from playa indoors..

The location is unbeatable, with direct beach access and stunning views. We enjoyed staying at this place a lot. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome throughout our visit. The on-site restaurant offered delicious meals, perfect for relaxing by the beach. Very nice location right on the beach toward the south end of the hotel zone. Very friendly and helpful staff, at the front desk and at the beach. The shaded beach beds under the palm trees are wonderful! Very good food and drinks, but a little expensive. I stayed for 5 days with my 14-year-old son. We loved our stay at Alquimia and highly recommend it! The staff were so welcoming and attentive and gave us great recommendations. The room was beautiful and kept clean/stocked daily. Our room was steps away from the pool and beautiful beach - it was so easy to get to the cabanas and relax! We also saw wonderful views from the rooftop. The hotel was super close (walking distance) to a pharmacy, grocery store, and many different restaurants, so we felt so connected to everything. It was easy to take a taxi into Tulum Centro, and the staff helped us navigate how to take the colectivos, as well. The only small issue we had was with the WiFi not working, but the staff fixed it promptly! Again, we highly recommend Alquimia and hope to return!

I loved our stay at Alquimia hotel! Our room was right on the beach, and the most incredible views on the ocean. We loved our bed, super comfy and our room was very large for our family. We had our baby girl who is 18 months stay in our space too, and they provided us a large enough crib. The kitchenette eas good also, with the basic needs and the fridge was a great size . The day beds on the beach were also super comfy and always available for guests. My only criticisms are the food and drinks are way overpriced so we got most our food at Chedraue and cooked our breakfast and lunch. The pool also isnt really cleaned or maintained well and the area around it is a bit dangerous for children. Staff and so incredible and accomodating! We loved the cleaning crew and the RMT eddy is wonderful! His massages were so good! We all had a fabulous stay !!

This place is just a dream! Adorable rooms, absolutely perfect beach and view, food and drinks are good but pricey compared to bars and restaurants around. Staff is amazing, friendly and helpful even if they don’t speak much English. They all took good care of my daughter and I, and accommodated all my requests! We were there the last week of October and it wasn’t crowded at all which it was absolutely perfect! Eddy gives the best massages and was awesome with my kid! One of the last nights the staff invited us to release baby sea turtles and that was just a dream coming true! An unforgettable experience!! If I’ll be back to Tulum I will stay here again for sure!

The room water was hot; the AC worked well; staff was courteous. Otherwise, the stay was mediocre. The staff said that the jungle side rooms in which we stayed were just purchase three weeks before. These need work. The lighting at the sink was insanely terrible. There were literally NO towel hooks or bars; no place to put your clothes or suitcase other than on the floor. There were 5 hangars on a wooden bar. When it rained, the water came in under the door and around the windows. The food at the beach was bad at breakfast; good at lunch. There were NO chairs around the pool. The beach chaises and beds were $1,000 pesos for the day. They applied this to you food and drink bill like every beach club but not every hotel. It would have been nice not to have to pay to use a chaise at a beach hotel at which one stays. Cleaning crew forgot to clean our room a couple of times even though we specifically saw them on those days and asked for the cleaning.

The location is unbeatable, with direct beach access and stunning views. We enjoyed staying at this place a lot. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome throughout our visit. The on-site restaurant offered delicious meals, perfect for relaxing by the beach. I highly recommend this place, and we definitely plan to come back next year!

Beautiful hotel located directly at the beach. The staf is great and delivers good service. The shops and restaurants are all in walking distance of the hotel. Really nice place to get some peace and have nice food and cocktails at the beach!

Au top! Nous sommes arrivés dans une chambre conteneur ou la clim est tombé en panne des notre arrivée.. ils nous ont surclassé la chambre face a la mer ( où il y a la terrasse) le bonheur ! La plage le top! Un des plus bel endroit que nous ayons fait. Le seul bémol : le restaurant ! Fruits congelés..de plus petit déjeuner servi pas avant 9h30 sympa si on veut partir tôt pour les exclusions.. dommage

The staff were all lovely and really friendly! The lady on reception gave us lots of help during our stay when we had questions. The room was beautifully decorated and the beach and the beach club were gorgeous. The drinks and food were delicious and really well priced, compared to some other establishments in the beach zone. The lights in the room / bathroom were very dark - it was quite hard to apply make up and get ready to go out as it was so dark. Our room was next to the road and the music from the bar opposite was very loud and didn’t stop some nights until early hours of the morning. We also were confused by the beach club cabanas - it says they’re free for use of the hotel guests on the hotel listing, but we were told there was a minimum spend of $3000 Mexican pesos to use them…? We didn’t use them because of this which was a shame as that was a big reason for why we made the booking. Other than this, we loved our stay so much and would definitely come back. Watching the sun rise on the beach was such a beautiful experience every morning! We also loved Honey the hotel dog!

Buenas condiciones en general, mejorar quiza los enchufes de la habitacion alguno no servian, y que muestren el horario de las comidas de 9am-6pm. Falta TV es util no obligatoria. El mar que tiene enfrente es de lo mejor, las camas y camastro te crean un momento muy agradable para tu hospedaje.

Staff was not very friendly, didn’t give me info about property or food accommodations even though it said breakfast included so I sat for over an hour to be told oh it doesn’t start till 9:30am then at 9:30 am still no one which after a day of travel I was starving and needed coffee. Considering I booked this stay due to breakfast being ready and not having it after an awful check in, random people knocking at my door at midnight, I could hear the couple in the room next door having sex because it’s a shipping container not a hotel so the walls don’t reach the ceilings, and there was sand in my bed before I even went near sand so the sheets didn’t feel clean and there was no attempt to solve the problem I was having with the hotel. I don’t typically leave reviews but I’ve never had a worse experience in my 10 years of solo traveling.

Jungle rooms tin roof animals playing on roof all night, no sleep, open light along the edges of walls, toilet on a huge slant, can barley get into shower and the bed is on a huge pallet, plus the deck outside leading onto the rooms is a toe breaker there are holes and heaving boards everywhere finally 7 am very noisy spot.
