Lovely well maintained hotel, friendly staff. As the hotel covers five buildings access to room means climbing up and downstairs. If your are impeded by walking climbing stairs I suggest you request an easy access room

Lovely place, friendly helpful staff, room was great, had everything you needed and was very comfortable. Food in the restaurant was also great. Only downside if you could call it that, was the carpet was stripped and quite hard on the eyes when going up or down the stairs (and there were a few of those and no lifts) but that was a very small minor thing. Really enjoyed the stay there.

Good location with parking, roomy bedroom, helpful staff, evening meal was very good, unusual decor with interesting artwork. Difficulty getting around due to numerous stairs and striped carpet tricky for elderly guests with poor eyesight. Would have liked a hot breakfast cooked to order. Not a fan of wet rooms as bathroom floor gets soaked.

Lovely, older hotel with a great vintage vibe but modern amenities. Lots of parking. Staff were friendly and helpful. Clean and comfortable. Our stay included breakfast which was exceptional, with a huge abundance of choices. Had dinner at the Hotel and food was fresh and tasty. Overall a wonderful stay and would stay again. May not be the optimal choice for those with mobility issues as there are lots of random stairs throughout the property. Also the walk into downtown is a long way.

Another lovely stay, but the bar service is a bit chaotic while the building works ongoing. Also a lot of dust on the tables (building work) so it took a while to find a clean table and to be served. Passed on feedback about overwhelming body odour smell in reception and it was sensitively handled. Not the usual front of house experience I have at Chester due to this unfortunately.

Arrived late after dinner and were shown to a dungeon room with a tiny basement window. The room was hot and stuff with no air con. The bed is possibly the most uncomfortable hotel bed I’ve had in a long time. It was cheap and springy with scratchy bedding and thin, useless pillows. Far below the expectations set out in their website. The light on the desk phone also lit up the whole room until 3am when it eventually dulled. There were no robes which is fairly standard in good hotels which is what Chester market themselves to be. I’m 6 months pregnant and what was a last minute get away child free with my husband, on a whim I booked here instead of Mal next door. Instead of having a lovely night away and enjoying a hotel bed and relaxing time I’m leaving with a sore back and neck, tired and grumpy with a stuffy nose. The bathroom was nice. I’m sure there are decent rooms here perhaps with better beds and bedding but certainly not my experience. If a hotel has basement rooms they should really advise guests of this in advance. The bed and bedding and overall room experience falls short on expectations set by this hotel. I would not recommend at all

The room was lovely, however I didn’t find the bed comfy. Mattress felt uneven, maybe an old spring mattress. Breakfast was great. Lots of options plus the chef will cook you fresh eggs. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Stayed for 1 night, rooms lovely, some areas of the hotel shut for refurbishment , areas we were in were all very nice. Some noise in room as it was above the bar and garden room but not overly loud. Had dinner here very tasty, not huge portions but what you got was good. Would happily return.

Staff was excellent, rooms were very nice….good shower and good bed. My issue was most of the rooms are on a lower level and have egress windows so you can’t see anything. Location is in a beautiful neighborhood, but there are no pubs or cafes close by

This hotel has such a lovely cosy, relaxed feel but the thing that makes it really special is the staff - literally everyone I interacted with, from the reception staff, the waiters, the chef at breakfast and the restaurant staff at lunch. Everyone was so pleasant, friendly and incredibly helpful! Thank you for making what was a rather unwelcome business trip into something really special! I will definitely stay here again when I am next in Aberdeen!

I had a room opposite the bar restaurant where a party went on until 1am. I was repeatedly told incorrect information about when the party was going to stop and I complained!!! I am still waiting for the hotel to contact me. Terrible customer service

Amazing staff! Very kind and approachable. One fellow was leaving work for the day and took the time to help my husband find parking. The lady that helped us check in walked me to our room to ensure that I found it alright while my husband parked the car. Everyone was lovely and beyond kind. Very clean room, I didn’t want to leave.

From a friendly welcome and free upgrade due to a large event at the premises I had a great one night stay. Room was excellent and the hotel bar perfect to meet a friend. Would highly recommend for anyone having a short or long stay in Aberdeen.

The Chester is perfect. It is ideally located for visiting Aberdeen and for the theatres , shops and nightlife with plenty onsite parking. The rooms are luxurious ,spacious and very quiet. We have returned many times because it is always perfect and the staff are wonderful , friendly and ultra helpful. The staff truely set this exceptional hotel apart from the competition. Overall a nice stay but hotel dated in some areas. Our room was comfortable but the bathroom in need of uplift. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Bar and restaurant staff not as attentive. Breakfast was average. Pretty poor continental selection and the sausages poor quality.

Room and hotel was fantastic but when it came to breakfast it was a disaster, at 10:00 nothing left. Bread for toast, juice, bowls for cereal nothing there. For toast we had to wait to defrost bread so much for fresh.
