Our stay at the Malmaison Birmingham was absolutely fabulous. The staff were tremendous and couldn't have done more for us. The hotel is very clean and the relaxation room at the spa is beautiful. We stayed in a deluxe double double room which was spacious and very comfortable.

Bar is nice and the restaurant is very pleasant. Forget trying to get anything in terms of the spa. You probably won't get an appointment. I haven't managed to do it in the 8 to 10 times I've stayed here..

The location is great to access the area on foot. It's very easy to drive to and find. The hotel doesn't have it's own car park, but there is a q park next to it and you get a 20% discount if you stay at the hotel. All the staff we dealt with were really friendly. The room was a double twin and was really spacious with a nice bathroom. We didn't eat lunch or dinner in the restaurant but had the breakfast - this was excellent. Had a drink in the bar , that was good too and pretty reasonably priced. We will definitely stay here again

Very comfortable room and good quality breakfast, but they couldn't cope with their guest numbers so cooked breakfast took to long to arrive before having to leave. Also, the spa facilities have very limited opening hours so were shut by the time i arrived and didn't open until after i had to leave when we chose the hotel partly to have those facilities. Too expensive for not being able to make full use of facilities or breakfast due to inability to serve people.

Had a great stay. Room was spacious but a little cold. Went for the afternoon tea spa day. The afternoon tea wasn’t great- everything was cold like it was just taken out of the fridge/ freezer and hadn’t had time to thaw through. Had the same issue with breakfast cold beans and egg. Spa was ok but the treatments were amazing. Ursula did an amazing job with the massage and facial so would highly recommend even if it’s just for the spa treatments. All the staff were fantastic and very helpful. Had a lovely stay and would definitely stay again. And will be returning for the spa treatments. Great location for food and drinks.

for a 4 star hotel very poor, usually stay at raddisons, no water in rooms, very basic facilities. taps leaking and not very clean. in the morning woken by cleaners having a mothers meeting outside in the corridor followed by hovering and backing on door with the hover. complained at check out and actually pretty poor to get no acknowledgment.

The room was tired and in need of repairs, especially the bathroom that had a fair bit of mould. A repair for a leak carried out on the ceiling but the quality of the repair is shocking and not what i'd expect for this level of hotel. Broken tiles too. Disappointing.

There was hair on the bathroom floor together with other bits of stuff. Bathroom was generally not very clean and the state of repair was poor - chipped/peeling/bubbling paint on the door. The grouting was black in places. The walls barely had one coat of patchy paint with old repairs hardly covered up. The shower was poor at best and I’d always considered Malmaisons to be good at showers. And, just to top it off, the AC made a horrible racket all night, even after I turned it off.

We had a family weekend away. The location of the hotel was perfect. Town one way, and the water and restaurants the other. Could not fault the reception staff. Only negative was the bathroom and bed spread was very dirty and not clean at all. Sheets were absolutely fine. On mentioning it to the hotel the cleaners did come again, and cleaned the points we pointed out, but didn’t clean the bits around and was still substandard. From my perspective they tried, the cleaners let them down, hopefully it was a one off. The hotel front of house were amazing, even the morning after. They were so apologetic and said we would have a call. And we did that same afternoon. Not one to complain normally, but the reception staff and manager were truly superb. I’m sure it was a one off and would like to thank the team for their compassion and listening. Like I say everything else was great, just issues with the bathroom and bedspread. I would recommend, based on how good the front of house was. The room its self was perfect, just the cleaning of it was below expectations. Hopefully it was a one off and we were unlucky.

Room great, breakfast excellent, all clean and really convenient for New Street, Cube, Mailbox and Canal / Broad St. Heads up that wifi doesn't allow streaming services. Especially inconvenient when trying to watch England Euros game (BBC Iplayer). Room TV had one battery and MASSIVE queue of check ins meant no chance of sorting. Had to go out. If you like real ale heartily recommend Craven Arms around the corner.

My husband and I booked a one night stay at this hotel unfortunately my husband was taken ill on arrival and spent a week in hospital, the hotel staff and management were amazing they went above and beyond to enable me to stay close to my husband at a very stressful time, I cannot thank the whole team enough especially Richard.

It’s attached to the Mailbox Birmingham, including the parking beneath, so makes it convenient when driving there and close to almost everything great with the Birmingham city centre. Great service by the warm and friendly staff and liked that there was outdoor seating (limited) at the front with a view to some of the city. Great for that ice cold pint of beer!! :-) If and when I’m back in Birmingham, probably my first choice or among my preferred choices. Ah, Malmaison are also a pet friendly establishment too, if this helps.

A very long wait to check in as only one person on the desk. A very nice room but as I was working I wanted to order room service. I tried for 20 minutes to contact room service then reception to no avail it just rang or cut off. I then went down so that I could ask at reception. Again another queue. When I got to the desk to try to order he said that as he was busy he would not be able to take my order. I could wait again until everyone had been served or go to the restaurant and order it myself. Both of which were appalling levels of service. I went back to the room and called the restaurant and ordered myself. It was delivered quickly but with a service charge. Very disappointing experience.

Use Malmaisson for a one night stop-over to see what Birmingham has to offer. The hotel was excellent. Front of house team were well-presented and personable, the room was clean, well furnished and much larger than what was expected; it was also extremely well-decorated in a contemporary style with everything working well. Having stayed at Malmaisson before, you know you are going to get a great room.

From the moment we stepped into Malmaison to leaving fantastic service. We were upgraded to a club room and gifted a free drink voucher too at check in which was such a wonderful touch. When checking out the lady was warm and very friendly and even manged to find out what that amazing smell is that they pump round the hotel is. So thats just cost my husband a bit extra as just brought Arran scent for the home. Thank you to the hotel staff as they made our stay so relaxing, just what we needed.

Lovely hotel in a great location close to New Street station, the bullring shopping centre and canal areas. Plenty of bars and restaurants on the doorstep, quieter area away from shops. Parking next door however there was an £18 per day charge for this and also an additional £8 per day for congestion charge so factor these into your budget. Restaurant and bar in hotel were quite expensive and very limited bar options for draught beer. Service in restaurant however was very good and food excellent. Breakfast good selection and good quality ingredients, note if it’s not included in your room rate this is £20 per head per day. We upgraded to a Club room which was large with nice decor and nice touches such as gowns slippers and coffee pod machine. The decor throughout the hotel is quite quirky and dark but of a good standard, we did feel it was a bit too dark in corridors and reception area. Reception staff could have been a bit more welcoming and more informative but check in was very swift. Overall a great stay and we would return.

Definitely my go to place to stay in Birmingham. Great location in easy walking distance to stations (New Street & Moor Street), shopping and bars/restaurants. Hotel staff were super friendly and helpful. The rooms were spotlessly clean and spacious with a really spacious bathroom as well. Pretty quiet at night although some noise from hotel room doors slamming but not late at night. Didn't eat at the hotel but there's a nice bar/restaurant and also a Starbucks on the ground floor.

Excellent location. 10 minutes walk from either New Street or Moor Street railway stations or. Public car park directly under the Hotel. Staff all very please to see you and pay attention to detail. Plenty of restaurants within a 5 minute walk and the Utility arena is a 15 minute walk along the canal away. Would recommend a stay

Absolutely loved the hotel but the breakfast really let it down. We waited an hour for our food and when it arrived it was cold, overcooked and had been sat on the plate for a while. Also meant we ended up checking out late.

Very friendly check in lady who was lovely. My room was spacious and clean and bed was comfy! WiFi was great. Breakfast is outstanding. I also used the bar and the restaurant for dinner and both are great. The gym was good with heavy weights and a cable machine and squat rack. Central location - can’t fault it.

This is a great hotel in a good location. However it gets very busy at breakfast and on the day we were there seemed to be having issues in the kitchen leading to large queues to get into breakfast and 20-40min wait times for cooked food. However the staff were friendly and did their best to help people.
