Window in room did not lock, producing a security risk. Bath in advert showed jets, bath was historically not in use for that function. Area around hotel externally was obviously high crime and intimidating. Hotel itself was "o.k" but no bar no food and no interaction Spot lights in ceiling were hanging down giving a paranoid effect of being watched. Minor maintenance jobs not cleared

There was no point of contact as I wanted to request an accessible room. No one answers the phone or responds to emails I was forced to stay on ,3rd floor with no lift and I'm partially sighted with cancer in my bones. Quite disappointing that I couldn't talk to anyone There are no staff to assist you but the actual hotel is pleasant. The bathroom was pokey and could do with a thorough clean

It is a wonderful place. We had the kings room, it was spectacular. It is a bit of a weird check in, you get a code to open front door and then your room door. Breakfast is across the road in the derby hotel. There is a path to the beach nearby. I'd definitely stay here again.

Lovely hotel and the staff are fantastic the lady on reception when we checked in was so nice. Room was lovely and clean and good selection of teas and coffee. The jacuzzi bath didn’t work unfortunately and we found the bed a bit to soft for us but thats personal preference. We usually stay at the sister hotel across the road but actually prefer this one. Highly recommend and booking to go back in July for our daughters graduation.

An unusual place in that it was totally unstaffed, but the access arrangements were fine and the room was comfortable, extremely quiet and exceptionally well provided for. The bed was incredibly comfortable. There was nothing to dislike at all and I would definitely return, but it's a shame that with such nice facilities, ie lounge, bar, etc. the areas are not used

I'm sure this was once a lovely hotel. But the room I had wasn't very clean and one of the curtains was on the floor. The check in system is strange and they didn't have an iron so couldn't iron my shirt. Lastly, the advert said it had a gym, which it did not. Disappointed about that aspect as felt I was mis-sold

We arrived at noon, nobody on reception until 2pm. Friendly check in staff. Room 15, at the top of the house was tired. Broken loose tiles in the bathroom and cobwebs around the main light. Bed pillows a little lumpy. Kettle, hot chocolate, coffee and decaf fee coffee sachets and a selection of teas and biscuits.

I was in the Kings room which was huge, nice bathroom with TV, shower and Jacuzzi bath however there were a lot of black hairs in the bath so had to clean it before use. The four poster bed was huge and comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities and bottled water. Would benefit from a small fridge to keep drinks cool and fresh milk. Nice little area telling the history of the house and there were some pleasant rest areas in the lounge and bar. Would stay again.

A beautiful hotel inside and outside. We were fortunate to have the Kings Room which was huge and stunning. The breakfast was across the street at the sister hotel which was beautiful too. An excellent breakfast with delightful staff. Had a wonderful stay.

Went to the Langtry years ago for a wedding and thoughts I’d give it a go staying here for work when it came up on here. Wow. I so wasn’t expecting what I got. Was amazing. What a beautiful place. Room was incredible with a four poster (think it depends on which one you book). Was self check in and was messaged a number for the key box. But was easy to do. Place was lovely and quiet, and just so full of history. A real gem amongst all the big modern chains in the town. Breakfast was at The Derby hotel (sister hotel) next door, and I popped over to the bar as well for a drink after I’d checked in. Staff lovely and welcome. Breakfast great. No restaurant for evening meal, but Bournemouth has loads of eating places and there’s Deliveroo! Which I had. Looking forward to staying here again soon!

Gorgeous building nicely decorated. We loved the lounges. We reported a faulty bulb which was flickering and the extractor fan not working though neither were fixed during our 2 night stay. One of our pillows was filled with foam pieces and was very lumpy. Our room was small but adequate. If we were staying longer i would opt for a larger, luxury room. We locked ourselves out one night but called the emergency number and he came out and let us in then gave us a bottle of wine because we couldn't open the one we'd brought - no corkscrew. That was a lovely gesture. However maybe they should give couples a key each. We felt that thete should be a bar. Free teas and coffee and biscuits were great, though. Breakfasts across the road were good though could be hotter. It was a gorgeous room to eat in. Extra knives are needed for toast. Finally they really need to sort out the blocked gutters as water ran down the outside walls and dripped noisily. It will also damage the building. We would go back there though, a lovely base for a holiday within walking distance of the sea in a nice area.

What a wonderful stay! We booked this for our first anniversary and it was beautiful. Patricia and Steve I think it was? Both hosted us and they were just lovely. 5*!! Only complaint is that it was so soooo hot in there. No idea why, but we couldn’t sleep under the duvet at night and with the windows open it was noisy from the cars outside. Other than this it was fab!

The room was small and hot and the bathroom a closet, hardly big enough for one person. The breakfast was at the neighbour hotel and they were out of fresh fruit for both days. Our friends stayed in same type of room and it had s slightly bigger bathroom and a nicer decor, so we might have been given the worst room at the hotel

Read this review alongside the others for room 15. We have stayed here a number of times before and the standard has been dropping. On this occasion we mentioned to the receptionist that we had a concern about there being no escape route if there was a fire on the floor below. She shrugged and said well it is an old building. She then added, if there was a fire they would come and get us. Clearly Fire training isnt on the list for educating staff as she had no idea how fast fire and smoke can spread. We could add in the huffing and puffing when we asked for a night cap at 9.50, made us feel so special. It is fair to say that this will be the last time we will be staying.

Absolutely wonderful anniversary 6 nights spent at this hotel. Steeped in history, beautiful furniture.lovely sunny garden and furniture, breakfast at the sister hotel great. Staff were always friendly and helpful particularly the young 17 year old receptionist, really mature and helpful. Great location to walk to the beach, town or Boscombe. The room was beautifully decorayed and the whole place had a cosy feel even with a lounge and access to tea etc plus tasty biscuits. Highly recommended.

When booking, you have the option to leave a message with any requests you may have... which was ignored. I emailed 5 times, got 1 email back I called 5 times, and no one answers. I didn't like the impersonal touch.

Terrible place not the room we ordered room we were offered was no good carpets were like a musky smell one room I was offered had bolt on the main door owner rude told me if I wanted five star should have paid five star I thought I had with paying over £1400 which I didn’t get a penny back also said I would pay when I arrived but they took the money day before. I’m still trying for a full refund with master card michael c Pearson

While not close to the main part of Bournemouth, it is in a quiet, lovely spot and the hotel itself is very charming.

Went to the Langtry years ago for a wedding and thoughts I’d give it a go staying here for work when it came up on here. Wow. I so wasn’t expecting what I got. Was amazing. What a beautiful place. Room was incredible with a four poster (think it depends on which one you book). Was self check in and was messaged a number for the key box. But was easy to do. Place was lovely and quiet, and just so full of history. A real gem amongst all the big modern chains in the town. Breakfast was at The Derby hotel (sister hotel) next door, and I popped over to the bar as well for a drink after I’d checked in. Staff lovely and welcome. Breakfast great. No restaurant for evening meal, but Bournemouth has loads of eating places and there’s Deliveroo! Which I had. Looking forward to staying here again soon!

Gorgeous building nicely decorated. We loved the lounges. We reported a faulty bulb which was flickering and the extractor fan not working though neither were fixed during our 2 night stay. One of our pillows was filled with foam pieces and was very lumpy. Our room was small but adequate. If we were staying longer i would opt for a larger, luxury room. We locked ourselves out one night but called the emergency number and he came out and let us in then gave us a bottle of wine because we couldn't open the one we'd brought - no corkscrew. That was a lovely gesture. However maybe they should give couples a key each. We felt that thete should be a bar. Free teas and coffee and biscuits were great, though. Breakfasts across the road were good though could be hotter. It was a gorgeous room to eat in. Extra knives are needed for toast. Finally they really need to sort out the blocked gutters as water ran down the outside walls and dripped noisily. It will also damage the building. We would go back there though, a lovely base for a holiday within walking distance of the sea in a nice area.

Absolutely wonderful anniversary 6 nights spent at this hotel. Steeped in history, beautiful furniture.lovely sunny garden and furniture, breakfast at the sister hotel great. Staff were always friendly and helpful particularly the young 17 year old receptionist, really mature and helpful. Great location to walk to the beach, town or Boscombe. The room was beautifully decorayed and the whole place had a cosy feel even with a lounge and access to tea etc plus tasty biscuits. Highly recommended.

Window in room did not lock, producing a security risk. Bath in advert showed jets, bath was historically not in use for that function. Area around hotel externally was obviously high crime and intimidating. Hotel itself was "o.k" but no bar no food and no interaction Spot lights in ceiling were hanging down giving a paranoid effect of being watched. Minor maintenance jobs not cleared

Lovely hotel, with masses of history. Stayed overnight after a wedding. Two rooms, The smaller one had cramped shower/toilet room, but comfortable enough. The larger one was fine. Breakfast taken in the sister hotel was excellent.

The room was small and hot and the bathroom a closet, hardly big enough for one person. The breakfast was at the neighbour hotel and they were out of fresh fruit for both days. Our friends stayed in same type of room and it had s slightly bigger bathroom and a nicer decor, so we might have been given the worst room at the hotel

Amazing historic buildings and room. Biggest room I’ve ever stayed in!!!!! For a midweek stay breakfast was not served early enough IMO. 8am till 10 doesn’t really suit a business stay.

We stayed in the Kings Suite no. 16 which had access to the gardens, the suite was amazing with high ceilings and beautiful stained glass windows. The bed was lovely clean and comfy. would definately stay again.

Interesting historic property. In need of some updating, no fans in rooms with this very hot weather. Front door lock/handle needs repair. Good breakfast in next door Derby Hotel. 20 mins walk down zig zag path to beach.
