room & pool very good - clean & well appointed parking fairly poor - no allocated space per room no food options , apart from travel to Colonial Club Resort luckily Raintrees shopping center has Cafe63 - very good menu for breakfast , lunch & dinner overall - comfy & clean - easy to get to the plaxes we wanted to go

Great location, nice clean rooms, great landscape and pool, the room locations and layout are confusing and difficult to find especially if you checkin late in the evening and have heavy bags. Tge staff was not very helpful in locating our rooms. The parking at the property was always full. So had to park at added parking lot away from the building. Was difficult with lots of rain in the area.

This hotel was easy to find, clean, comfortable and very pretty. Yes it's an older hotel, but they work hard to keep it clean, beautiful and in good repair. The grotto pool was epic! Really beautiful, very warm and absolutely heaven to swim in after a long day exploring. Priceless. We did not go in the lap pool but it looked pretty as well. The entire pool area was the absolute highlight of the hotel. Beautifully landscaped in tropical plants and flowers. We will definitely stay there again when we return to Cairns.

The room was very clean and smelled beautiful. I enjoy staying here. The lift was quite warm during my stay. As someone with chronic asthma, being in a hot, enclosed space made me feel a little short of breath going up to level 3. It would be helpful if the temperature or ventilation in the lift could be improved for guest comfort. This will not stop me from staying here.

Proximity to Supermarket & Eateries Keep Away from Room 122 - There's a really bad smell in there, might be mould/mildew or dog urine in the carpet - it stinks really bad . I asked the concierge to have the room fragranced in some way but the bad smell remained for my second night stay.

Staff were great! Very clean room and hotel. Looks exactly like the photos which is always good. The pool was lovely and has good opening hours - so nice to have it open into the late evening for a swim after a hot day. Room was lovely and has everything you need including a balcony. Not too far a distance from lots of the main attractions!

Overall the stay was perfectly nice, the pools were very nice and the staff at reception were great. We found a small cockroach in the room when we first entered, but after that had no issues. There were not many blankets on the bed and had no extras, but that wasn't a big issue for us. There is a small guest lounge area with a microwave and rooms have small fridges but otherwise there's no real amenities besides a small kettle. Room size was good, bed was comfortable, shower was good. Small balcony was cute and nice.

The Palm Royale was a nice stay, the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The pool was huge and really nice. My only issue was that the A/C could not be adjusted / it was either off or on, the temperature couldn’t be controlled, and it was loud. I got too cold in the night with it on but then got too warm when I turned it off. Otherwise, it was a very good stay, and great value. (Tip: eat breakfast at “63”, a cafe within walking distance. It’s excellent.)

My stay at the hotel was marred by the presence of ants in the room. Despite notifying the staff, the issue was not promptly addressed, affecting the overall comfort of the stay. Everything else was ok, the site and pool were wonderful and the staff were generally good. It was just a shame that we experienced this ant problem, as they got into everything, our food, our bed, our toothpaste even our luggage and clothing.

This place was amazing and far exceeded our expectations. Huge room, spacious with pool view. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time there. Quite some distance from Cairns (actually located adjacent to Raintrees shopping centre) but fine if you have a car.

The room was nice and spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The pool was quite nice. What I didn’t like was the noise of the cars passing by, which woke me up in mornings. There were also many loud guests. The wifi was also extremely slow and completely unusable. There were also many small things, like the phone in the room not being set up; the vent above the shower being loose, chasing noise in the shower; cleaning people coming in at 9:30 am to clean, which is too early; and flickering light coming in through the (not great) blinds at all times. It is also rather far from the city centre.

An okay stay but there were a few issues as well. The room was huge but the poor layout meant a large amount of wasted space - the TV was about 15 feet across the room from the bed. The bathroom was great and the shower was the best I've seen in past two weeks. Unfortunately the fridge didn't work and the shortage of on-site parking meant a long walk to my room each day. It was still okay value for money and I'd stay there again.

Overall a decent place with a very nice pool area with attractive vegetation. Room was large, clean and comfortable. Air conditioning was somewhat noisy. Not a very convenient location for walking, but would be great if you have a car.

King room level 3 good size for 2 people, clean, comfortable bed, appears newly renovated. Balcony overlooking the beautiful pool. Fridge, kettle tea and coffee. No microwave but fine with us. Wifi sometimes slow but managed. Location is 7.6km to Cairns airport and 4.8km to esplanade. Pm staff very helpful and pleasant. Stayed 1 night and back 3 nights. Pleasant stay.

We had a great stay at the Palm Royale. Clean and tidy room with a great view of the pool. The staff were excellent and very friendly. The only thing that let it down was there was a smell of stale cigarette in the bathroom that we couldn't tell where it was coming from. Other than that very happy.

This review was written because of the series of issues that I have encounteted. I hope this review makes the future visitors rethink about their experiences. The check in was very average. The gentleman was not nice. No smiles or friendly mannerism. I do not judge the accomodation based on if the workers are miserable in their job. The concierge askes me to bring my credit card. Then proceeded to process a payment without my consent or explaination. Only when asked, he told me what he was doing and how much money was being taken out. The facility was ok, below the pay range in terms of quality. The worst part was, at 8:45am (1 hour before my check out), two house keeping ladies proceeded to bang my door. I am pretty loud, and I said I am still in there. They were too distracted talking to each other to hear me yell. If she stopped from there, it would have been fine but no, she opened my door. However, I had the locks in. If she stopped from there, I would have not posted the review. No. She tried to force her way in twice. Then she used her card twice again to undo my door. Only when I yelled several times, she knew she made a mistake. I confronted the two ladies and they admitted their mistake. I was going to say something, to complain, but the reception concierge lady was too busy shelving her cold drinks into the fridge to serve. She just told me to leave my keys and go. Worst experience. Never again.

Stayed here for an overnighter, before heading out elsewhere. A bit outside the main CBD, but good if that isn’t important. Also close to another shopping centre. Have stayed here a few times now. Inside rooms are nice and quiet, but the ones near the main room can be quite loud of a night.

La struttura è datata ma è tenuta molto bene. Non si è nel centro di Cairns ma c'è un centro commerciale a due passi. L'ho scelto perché c'è ampio parcheggio in strada. La lavanderia interna è un po' cara, i prezzi sono gli stessi di quelle in città... Camere ampie, bagno ampio e confortevole, bollitore e frigo ottimi. Se vi dà fastidio il rumore fatevi dare una camera non lato strada perché il traffico è intenso e va avanti anche di notte. Personale super gentile e disponibile.

Given the location, this hotel was a delight. Sure the rooms are little aged and not at all dirty or worn (just out of date). The pool is absolutely stunning and the perfect place to enjoy the warmer weather. There a shopping centre right next door so easy to grab food and the other major centres are close enough to walk as well.

Great rates, value for money. Room is generally clean and spacious. Great pool area. A little further out from city centre or esplanade and airport. Doesn't have a restaurant but does offer discount dining at Colonial Club Resort 5 minutes drive away. Would be nice to have a microwave in room.

We had a really nice stay here. The hotel seems to be undergoing renovations, so will likely continue to improve. We stayed in a room that had a recently renovated bathroom which was lovely and clean. We had three comfy beds for my friend and I, and we enjoyed hanging out by the pool. There was no restaurant or bar, but that was okay as we brought some snacks and things. Staff were nice and accomodating. Location is outside of Cairns CBD so we used Ubers and hired a car for part of the stay. Wasn’t a big deal, but something to keep in mind if you aren’t driving in.

Spotless hotel. Only thing I can mark it down on is there is no onsite cafe/ restaurant so you have to go next door, and things close early in Cairns
