Located right at the Cairns Marina - this could not be better situated for all Cairns Excursions, especially those going to the Great Barrier Reef. Within walking distance of the night markets, the Aquarium, and the Eye (ferris wheel). Very clean, rooms are quite large. Loved our king-sized bed. Great pool. Nice variety of restaurants on the premises. Don't miss Mooz Gelati - around the corner.

A beautiful hotel with a lovely swimming pool area. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are tastefully decorated. The beds are super comfortable and the duvets are 80% down and luxurious. I wish the swimming pool water was heated in winter as it was a bit cold.

The hotel is great for any boat activities, since the reef terminal is right there. The train station is walkable, and it is conveniently located from many dining options. Some of the esplanade attractions are also right by the hotel. While most things in the hotel are great, the men’s shower area for the pool was very slippery and looked out of place compared to the quality of everything else. I can’t speak for the women’s shower area, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the same.

The location is AWESOME. That is the #1 thing about this hotel. You are steps from the tour and fishing boat. Can walk to dozens of restaurants. Grocery store is 3 blocks away. Gift/Souvenir shopping. You never need a car if you stay here. Can walk or Uber to anything in Cairns. The only reason I didn't give it it 5* is the pool, although beautiful to look at in pics and in person, it is too cold to spend any time it. It was high 70's to low 80s and I wanted to swim...but the pool was too cold to stay in for more than jumping in and getting out. And there is no hot tub...so basically I was left to just lay by the pool and look at the water...which got boring quickly.

This is a beautiful resort on the waterfront in Cairns. The beds and bedding are extremely comfortable. The room is in good condition. The landscaping and pool area are very well maintained. Poolside meals and drinks are delicious and reasonably priced.

Great hotel, right on the marina and just a short walk from the busy esplanade with the shops and restaurants, the room was large, the pool was a good size and warm. The restaurant looks out onto the marina, were we watched the boats leaving while at breakfast.

Liked the beautiful view of the harbor. Friendly staff in restaurant, valet parking and Horizon Lounge. Convenient location. Did not like: bathroom in our room #13 needed Clorox treatment and had moldy smell. Housekeeping was not compulsive and missed several replacement items (coffee pods, note pad, wash cloths). Also, area under bathroom sink remained dirty during stay.

This was by far the worst stay we’ve ever had, and it ruined our family holiday. ・No trash bin in the room, and amenities were missing. ・Even when we requested amenities, no response was given. ・Housekeeping never came. ・When we raised complaints, the staff on-site either ignored them or even lied. Because of these issues, we couldn’t rest properly, and it disrupted our travel plans. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Cairns. Because of the convenient location, the hotel feels they can completely neglect service and hospitality.

We selected this property for its proximity to the marina as our plans included an excursion out to the Great Barrier Reef. We selected a room with a view of the marina. It was fabulous to awake to the sunrise with the boats in the foreground. However, there was alot of pedestrian noise in the evening until very late. The hotel is an easy stroll in to town and to the walk along the promenade. There are many restaurants located right beside the hotel. We did try to use the pool on two occasions, just before dinner and and again after dinner. However, we found that the pools were filled with children , having lots of fun, but causing nearby adults to be splashed. A heads up. The hotel has a beautiful foyer . Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We did notice that the hotel rooms and hallways were a bit dated and in need of updating. We were disappointed with the shower in our room. There were several areas of black mold on the grout. When we turned on the taps , the fixture was rather loose and it felt as if it might break off. Overall, the location was scenic and it fit the bill for a 3 night stay.

Our room size was ok, but the place is not clean. Stink had heavy Mould around the wash basin. The shower screen had mould on the bottom. Mirror needs replacing. Table is very dirty. The 2nd floor hall stinks, needs cleaning, and deodorizing. Building on the outside needs painting. This hotel needs a major upgrade to Shangri la standards. We have spoken to the reception and showed him our pictures they apologized and offered us free breakfast, which we declined. We prefer to write an honest review.

Run down badly in areas. Room not cleaned or bed changed on my last day. I was out from 07:30 until 6pm on the barrier reef trip and when I came back in very disappointed to see my room hadn’t been cleaned. The hotel needs a lick of paint badly.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping excellent, daily towels, soaps etc. Even left a note to advise couldnt get to room as we had do not disturb but if called would come back later. Dining superb, breakfast to die for.

We had a deluxe room with harbour view and could not fault it at all. Room was spotlessly clean and a great size, bed was extremely comfortable, and balcony was large with an amazing view. Lovely reception area, friendly staff, large swimming pool. Great location for trips as only a 30 second walk from hotel to ferry terminal.

Great location. Expected more from a ‘resort’, rooms dated, need a tidy up. Uncomfortable couch and sparsely furnished, cabinet door would not shut. We had a view of a rusty door and a shade cloth area. Balcony small and a slight view of the marina if you stood in the one spot and looked sideways. Noise from other guests at all hours. Television in the room is quite old. Had to take the batteries out of the remote and shuffle them to get it to work. Pool area is nice. We ate there the first night… food was not great, didn’t eat there again. Turned a/c off in our room as it was freezing, however cold air still came through. Cleaning staff were fantastic. All in all a Bit disappointing and probably won’t stay there again.

First off, the location is perfect and the marina view is definitely the way to go. The room we had was very calming, and the bed was super comfortable. We loved waking up and having our coffee on the balcony watching the ships go out for the day. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I don’t have a single negative thing to say. I 100% recommend the Shangri-La and the marina room—it’s worth the cost. We would go back in a heartbeat!!

The public areas look tired and date, my heart sank on the corridor to our room but the room was great, fresh & modern. Clean and a great view of the marina. The staff were also great and the breakfast and dining options good too. Location wise awesome. I hope that over time they freshen the public areas to make it truly 5 starts

The only thing I didn’t like about the place was the bed. The mattress was super soft, and all the pillows were too fluffy. And guess what? The bed had wheels! It was like a little rollercoaster.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times over the last ten years and every time has been wonderful. This visit was no exception. The hotel reception and other staff were so welcoming and helpful. Rowan the night duty manager was incredibly accommodating and we wanted to thank him personally for going above and beyond. Looking forward to our next visit to Cairns and hope to stay longer.

Great stay, staff were excellent, room was massive, pool was great. Certain parts of the hotel were slightly dated but other than that it was fantastic. Location was perfect, only 5 minute walk from everything. Would highly recommend.

Having stayed at other Shangri-la properties, I was expecting the same high level of facilities, but on this occasion, it fell short. The property is dated and could do with a revamp. One of the pool lounges did not have sufficient padding on the lounge and when sitting on it, you sat straight on the framework. This was brought to attention of staff, but was left there for days and not removed. On checkout, I was over charged on the invoice and had to bring the overcharged items (doubled up on parking $120 and 1 day charged for an extra breakfast $30). This was rectified but this type of error should not happen for a hotel of supposedly high rating.

中国人の受付の態度が酷かったです。（名前は覚えていません）常にしかめっつらで、「忙しいので後にしてくれないか」という態度で接客してきました。旅行初日にこの人に出会ってケアンズに来たことを後悔しました。こちらは人生に一度のハネムーンで来客しているのに、それを踏み躙る非常に残念な対応だったと感じています。その中国人以外の接客は素晴らしかったと感じます。施設は少し古めだったので新しめのホテルよりは汚さは感じましたが、掃除は行き届いていたと思います。立地はとても良かったです。グリーン島へ行くフェリーの船着場にも近く、近くには景観の綺麗なレストランも多数ありました。

Good location, friendly staff. Late check in instead of early check in. My room was not ready at the check in time. I arrived at 13:00 and was told it will be ready soon. I had to wait 2 hours by the pool -in long trousers - because I didn’t receive a phonecall ad promised. I tried to call and was unable call the front office when ringing the local Cairns phone-number and ended up at customer service in Malaysia. They were nice but couldn’t help. I booked trough 3rd party (Hotels.com Expedia) and I feel that I was treated 2nd class- despite Expedia promises early check in as I am Gold member. Disappointed as I wasted 2 hours at the pool.

Wow! A great property with excellent service in a wonderful location! Checking in and out was extremely easy, and our room was ready early. The room had a nice balcony facing the water and the walk-in shower was large with good pressure and temperature control. It had so many good restaurants onsite or nearby. And the breakfast was exceptional, the best I’ve had in a hotel. Definitely include it when booking the room of when you check in.

First off, the location is perfect and the marina view is definitely the way to go. The room we had was very calming, and the bed was super comfortable. There is no better location to stay in Cairns everything was fabulous. This has been my 3rd visit from NSW in 18 months I look forward to staying again and wouldn't stay anywhere else when I visit Cairns.

Excellent property. One of the best we have stayed in. The staff was very helpful and they took care of everything. Beautiful Marina views and a lot of dinning options available. The only feedback is the restaurant within the hotel could have more food options available, specially vegetarian

Everything was great. Nice clean room and provide everything you need including bottled water. Breakfast was fabulous especially with the made to order omelet, fresh fruits, pastries among other things. Location is great also. Walking distance to a lot of places.

Nice hotel. Room with great view of the harbor. Great size and amenities. Beautiful bathroom. Service OK but below the level of her Shangri-la properties. Breakfast option is only a buffet and that is disappointing for people like me that like a simple breakfast and you must get out to find a restaurant offering that. Good news is there are options near by at the helicopter pier.
