BreakFree Royal Harbour

Great location. The apartment is equipped very well, hair dryer, iron and board, air fryer, dinnerware, glassware, cutlery, pods coffee machine,shampoo , hair conditioner, hand and body wash, pool towels, alarm clock ect. Beautiful view over the garden, multiple BBQ areas, cloth line and pegs,1 of the entrances leads to the Esplanade with easy access to all the restaurants and shops. The apartment is not freshly renovated, but clean and well maintained ! We had a great time staying! Thank you 🙏

We’d not fully realised just how close to the esplanade and the whole range of restaurants and shops immediately on our doorstep. We were there a week and hired a car dior a couple of days choosing Europcar because their vehicles were parked in the hotel carpark - so no parking fees - guaranteed parking after a day trip and drop off at the airport - so no transfers either. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The garden room we rented was perfect for us…with an adequate kitchen ann a bbq in the garden. Would fully recommend this place.

Staff Absolutely Lovely Specially the gent at the front Reception Counter an asset to this company. - Also View Amazing and lovely well maintained pool, Also small gym was sufficient to work up a sweat. A little disappointing that additional towels were not freely avail during the week, as it rained all week and they constantly had a damp smell as they wouldn't dry on the line. Room old & definately needs a revamp but was comfortable. Overall a very pleasant stay & so very close to Markets in Centre of City was a real bonus. Parking on site always had spaces available.

Excellent location within walking distance to wide variety of dining options. On the Esplanade with easy access to all facilities. The apartment was quite basic, windowless bedroom with a ceiling fan, cooking facilities minimal and basic, no dishwasher, old microwave. No dining table, only a very old table and chairs on the balcony, and stools at the kitchen bench. Uncomfortable sofa. Staff very helpful, informative and friendly. Parking available on site

In centre of Cairns easy access toall activities. Hotel clean and welcoming, lovely pool looking over the lagoon swimming pool. Staff friendly and helpfull.

This was perfect for what we needed. It was clean and spacious for 2 of us. The BBQ outside was really useful, and we were able to prepare a meal for ourselves rather than eat out every night. The position is right on the front and everywhere is walkable.

Right in the middle of everything! Front desk was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Having a washing machine in the apartment was very helpful!

Just be aware of the fire alarm system - check with desk for explanation as it goes off for no reason and is very scary trying to switch off or evacuate ?!?!?

Property is in ideal area for scuba diving and snorkeling. Lots of dining options nearby… walking distance…swimming lagoon very close to property is amazing!!! The only negatives to staying here are it doesn’t have daily cleaning and towel replacement. Washing machine in kitchen with clothes line on balcony is a big plus!

The BreakFree Cairns boasts some amazing staff, central location and an aging building with odd unit design. Our experience had us "jokingly" terming it the BreakDown Royal Harbour. In hindsight, we feel we ought to have been partially refunded for the inconveniences. On the positive side Central location *Comfy beds *Clean *Excellent staff, mostly. One man (Valter) was 5 star... hope you get him for service! He's incredible. *Spacious lounge area, although no powerpoints or lamps near sofa for reading at night. *Lovely gardens and pool. *Book share area. It may have been a one off, but unfortunately our 9 night stay wasn't smooth at all. The room was more suited to the younger person or a couple, not two more mature ladies. * Unfortunately, we had no cold water on our first day. This was rectified. * The spa with shower was difficult to get into and also very slippery so we were given a non slip mat. * The bathroom was not really suitable for twin share travellers and better for couples as it had only glass petitions and no privacy from the outside world. We were on the ground floor. * The washing machine broke down completely. * Bedroom was extremely small, had no natural light and lacked privacy and had no room for two suitcases. * Kitchen was pretty but impractical -no dishwasher, no pantry space, no oven, had to ask for basics like salad bowls etc Things were rectified by the staff, but our good experiences at the Breakfree were few. Location was great!

Great position of property. Good view. Very expensive for an appartment which is serviced by yourself! No housekeeping for the first week. No Pay tv availability which we found annoying. Property is a bit dated.

사이클론 여파로 모든 투어와 교통편이 마비된 상황에서 항공편 캔슬로 인해서 예상보다 3일이나 더 묵었습니다. 이런 상황에서도 친절하게 응대해 주시고 연장도 무리 없지 진행되어 재난상황에서 무사히 편하게 지내다 왔어요. 날씨가 좋았다면 뷰가 더 좋았겠지만 나름 만족했고 풀 키친이 있어서 장기간 가족 숙박에 무리 없이 잘 지낼 수 있었습니다. 상황 탓도 있었겠지만 룸에 청소 서비스가 되지 않았기 때문에 청결 면에서 별 한개를 뺐습니다.

Overall a great property in a good location and our apartment 607 was perfectly located but please steam clean the floor tiles more often

Room was very tired and grubby

It has some wear and tear, but the location is perfect. It has plenty of space, the kitchen even includes a washing machine. The round tub is a nice plus. Cleanliness was the only point I think they could improve, but other than that, I really loved my stay.

When we arrived we had to clean the room, floors were dirty and sticky, wash mould off the bathroom wall tiles and ceiling and the sofa was also broken. Once we cleaned and propped up the sofa our stay was great. Best views and position on the Esplanade. Stayed for 4 weeks and would stay again.

The location is perfect. A short walk to everything you need. Cleanliness. Friendly staff.

We enjoyed our stay. The location was wonderful. Our room was on 6th floor and had terrific views. The room was spacious and comfortable. The shower is over the bath which isn’t ideal and the lighting in the bathroom is pretty ordinary however all in all we would stay again and would recommend to others.

Very disappointed. On the 6th level 04. The dryer was in the living room area. The air conditioner was very loud and affected me sleeping. The vanity was cracked. The plumbing of the vanity was held together with duct tape. The front door open into the bedroom. The noise from the foyer of the lifts open and closing could be easily herd in bedroom when you were trying to sleep. There was an ocean view but most of the view was the carparks and air condition plants and rear fire escapes and of adjust buildings. There is much better value in new properties for the money paid. I have stayed here on many occassions over the 15 years and have had be allocated much better rooms.The location is fantastic.

I think all the bad reviews must be about the same apartment ? Our apartment was very dated. We had to use a fork to get plug out of the bath. Black tape for fix of pipe work (visible) and floor filthy. Isn’t one bedroom. Front door opens straight into bedroom area and they have a screen you can pull across (but then can’t get around the bed if you do) more like a studio apartment. Definitely not one bedroom. Walked around barefoot and feet were very dirty quite soon. The main issue was the balcony. The chairs were extremely worn/split fabric. We did have a sea view if you looked directly in front but the main view was of the backs and side of restaurants inc McDonald’s. So bin areas/parking etc. so we also had noise from all their huge extractors and the food smells. apartments own air con extractor is located on the balcony which is noisy. Turning that off helps slightly ? All this meant we didn’t really use the balcony, which was disappointing as that’s a main reason we booked this. Photos very misleading.cant believe the cost tbh as we have had so much better for less. We expected to be able to enjoy breakfast /a glass of wine on the balcony. This was impossible. The location is really good, (very noisy from pub til late on a Saturday) staff friendly. Apparently we had a very good apartment when we asked at checking in?? I assume that was a standard reply as it honestly is very poor. Also WiFi is additional cost? Fab area but book somewhere else.

Cant beat the location. Reception staff super helpful and friendly. Room 802 totally renovated to high quality. But no wifi available as yet which meant no smart tv . Only a minor problem though. This is the second stay at this property and will definitely book there again.

There is nothing that I didn't like about the place. It was very close to amenities and the staff were excellent as they were very friendly and helpful. It was a very secure place to stay and the room was very spacious.

First of all, the room was so beautiful relaxing. The bathroom was so clean and the bed was comfortable. My favorite part was the balcony and there was a bird bath. I could get to see beautiful birds and it brought me so much joy. And most of all, the staff were all so warm and welcoming. Paul kindly guided me to the reception and I loved how gentle and friendly he was! Because my room was faced with the way to the pool, I could see him cleaning up from the balcony but he never paid attention to me unless I talked to him. I appreciated it how he respected my privacy although I was happy to talk to him. And when I broke the bottle he cleaned it up for me and worried about me whether I got hurt or not. (I didn’t!) Gustavo did checkin and he was so nice and helped me enjoy Cairns in many ways. I appreciated it he let me know when the room got ready before 3:00p.m. When I came back he got this information written in Japanese for us to understand about the hotel clearly. Other than that he recommended many good places in the city, I really appreciate his kindness. Sophie helped me to have a nice dinner. It was nice of her gave me the note so I didn’t get lost. The food was really good! Valter did checkout and It was so impressive that he speaks many languages. I enjoyed talking to him in Japanese! I really enjoyed and loved every single bit of my stay. I loved Cairns thanks to them. I can’t wait to stay again sometime soon! Thank you so much for the beautiful experience!
