Sunshine Tower Cairns

Great value for money - this hotel really exceeded my expectations! The rooms are really spacious and clean with everything you need, bed super comfy, and there’s an underground garage for parking. There’s also a great little dumpling restaurant called Dumpling studio which is located in the hotel. Would stay again.

The place is nice, staff were great, the pool area is big and nice. The pool is not heated but large enough. The have a bar/eating area only serves breakfast. It is about 10-15 minutes walk to the main eating areas and also the mall

Property in walking distance to where we were going for a work function. Very clean. Free undercover parking. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only fault was the air conditioning was not a consistent temperature.

Firstly, the welcoming staff were wonderful and helpful and the place itself is very pleasant. The security, parking and outdoor pool area is well organised, attractive and comfortable – the enjoyable outdoor spa was a little tricky to turn on though. The rest of the service was, unfortunately, rather limited and restricted like the extremely narrow single beds: No room servicing in 3 nights; Only 1 face washer for 2 people; no towel changes etc.; No router connection to internet on the tv – and the outsourced technical service assistance was not forthcoming. The reception and bar/restaurant were clearly not technically linked – unable to charge drinks to the room and unaware of our breakfast booking made 3 days earlier – since there was unexpectedly no food service over the weekend. Disgracefully, this pre-paid breakfast did not include tea, coffee or any juice – and the additional payment of 11 dollars for our 2 mugs of coffee was required before any movement was started towards preparing our eggs. We picked at the remains of cold bits on the buffet table till our eggs arrived – the buffet being simultaneously dismantled.

This is a nice hotel for the price. Spacious and modern rooms with comfortable bed. Hotel also has convenient amenities like laundry machines. The only slight downside is the street it's on is quite busy and noisy, without much in the way of places to eat etc., but this isn't a big issue if you have a car.

Overall an amazing stay. Pool and outdoor area in great condition, brilliant staff and lovely room. Definitely worth booking, and certainly coming back again :)

In renovation mode. Restaurant not operating so sent up the street to a very busy and costly cafe for breakfast. Ramp entry difficult to manage by aged customers with suitcases. A mechanical buzzing sound at frequent intervals during the night kept interupting sleep. Surronds not very pleasant.

Receptionist super nice however The room was not cleaned properly. There was rubbish in my room. We bought breakfast buffet however is not included any coffee! The the buffet is super small not choices. Swimming pool was also dirty.

Cleaning only once a week!? Restaurant/Bar closed because public holiday weekend!? Facing a noisy and dodgy road. Not good enough for $290/night!

On arrival to our room there was no extra bed as paid for, we were not advised that there was no buffet breakfast. Instead given a voucher for a cafe for $20 each. There were only 3 things on the menu for $20 so had to pay extra. Also the room was not clean and full of mould, just yuck!

Front stuff was really nice, but too much ants are working window to kitchen. I can understand that was due to tropical weather but as i said I was living in cairns, i never seen that amounts of ants. They must be do pests control more frequently if don’t want to get any complain

Shower / bath had not been cleaned prior to myself checking in. Hot water tap in shower was very difficult to turn off. Limited water pressure in shower. Toilet seat was the wrong size. Would not stay up. Water leaking out of lights in car park. DANGEROUS. Not the ideal stay. Would have to rethink about staying again.

Reception staff were amazing. Easy check in and out and room to store luggage. Spent time with us to help sort out trips. We stayed for 4 nights and did not have our room cleaned once which was disappointing. I asked for fresh towels during the stay which were delivered to our room and put on an unmade bed. I felt the room should have been cleaned at least once during the stay. Only one mirror in the bathroom would have been nice to have had another in the living area Overall though thoroughly enjoyed our stay and very good value and although a little further out from marina ubers we’re cheap and quick to get

Noisy room behind the elevators. Thankfully the hotel isn't super busy, but there is elevator traffic all hours of the night.

Great hotel, just no netflix or prime tv

The room was clean but since it was tucked away at one end the wifi was not working for me at all. Glad we had safe parking. Very friendly and helpful staff, thank you for being kind.

From when I arrived, the friendliness and welcoming nature of the staff was apparent, they could not do more for me, it was just fantastic, then when I went up to the room, the room was also so beautiful presented. Bathroom is modern, rainwater showerhead was great, the balcony was well used and appreciated, and the king size bed was luxurious. Thank you for making my stay so wonderful, I had a great time.

The room service is poor, I called twice for getting a bring rack for clothes, and no one helped

Taking the overnight train from Brisbane we were delayed, by a medical emergency, for over 3 hours arriving about 8.45pm instead of 5pm. On arrival at the hotel the door was locked and no one visible inside. There was an emergency telephone number outside and intercom. Several attempts at both had no response. A resident appeared and let us in but no message re door key etc. eventually another resident appeared and was able to open a key pad near reception with envelopes inside and luckily one for our room. Having no Wi-Fi on the train or telephone signal we had not been able to inform the hotel of our late arrival. Once in our room we logged onto Wi-Fi and received their email telling us that reception closed at 8pm and details of access—a bit late. As we had paid for half board we had missed dinner but nothing- not even a bag of crisps had been left for us. Beware, no recompense the next day, 20$ allowance each for dinner and breakfast doesn’t include drinks! The cooked to order breakfast was good.

We arrived around noon at the hotel, our room was not available, but was able to store our luggage. Room was comfortable with all that we required for our overnight stay. We really enjoyed the Happy Hour especially by the wonderful service we received from the two personable young ladies. Sorry our memories aren’t good at remembering names, but one of the young ladies was from Chile and the other from Sardinia. The food we ordered went very well with our drinks.

Staff very helpful and professional. Room clean and comfortable.

Super informed staff helping not only with hotel related services but also providing easy pointers and access to local activities and attractions. Pretty easy access to major hubs both by transport and on foot as everything is relatively closeby.Would have planned to stay longer knowing how confortable everything was.

Staff attentive and friendly. A nice place to stay. A little bit of a hike into town but got to walk through Martin Munro Parkland to get there.

Great location, lovely service, convenient walking distance to Cairns Central one way, to the hospital the other way. Plenty of places to stop and shop in between.

We had booked this hotel on the basis that it offered breakfast. If this choice was not available we would have looked at another hotel. Unfortunately on the first morning we were told that the Chef had called in sick at short notice and therefore no breakfast was on offer. We were given a voucher foe $20 each for a cafe close to the hotel. unfortunately that voucher did not go too far to give us a good breakfast and we had to pay extra to get one main breakfast and a coffee each. Later on in the evening we were informed (only when asked) that there was no breakfast service for the weekend and once again we were provided with a similar priced voucher for the weekend. After some discussion we were offered $30 total as compensation for the extra we paid for our breakfast. There were better choices to be had near the sea front at a slightly lower cost but the voucher was
