My stay here was ok, I was disappointed to find on arrival that you now have to pay for parking which I have never had to do at my many previous stays here. Taking that in to consideration I probably won’t stay here again as it is quite a bit out of the city centre and the free parking always came in handy as you could use that money for an uber into town but if you have to pay both you might as well stay in the centre and just pay for the parking there. Also would like to say on checking out the 2 reception girls completely ignored me for some time as they were on there phones texting, not very good in my opinion.

Great location for visiting Cardiff. Appeared short staffed, on arrival reception not manned. However, helpful staff. Car park mainly in darkness.

Room was a bit cold but in good condition and well equipped. Cosy lobby and bar area and staff very friendly. Would recommend and will be back.

The building seems a bit dated from the outside, but the inside was relatively modern and well maintained. The fitness centre could be better, as only a few treadmills and a cable machine in there with no free weights, but it served a purpose. Worth a stay here

Nice property in a quiet location, only complaint is the £10 per night parking charge. This should be free for guests, it’s not like you’re in the centre of Town. Travel lodge 2 minutes away is free parking.

Exercise equipment/ fitness suite could do with some tlc. Apart from that everything else is great

Rooms in need of refurbishment. Desk didn't have a chair. Black mould around the windows and a stain on the carpet. Mirror missing from the bathroom with exposed cables taped up with duct tape. TV didn't work. Cable cross machine in the gym needs to be condemned.

Carpark was said to be well lit. It isn’t. It was v dark with small spaces and didn’t feel safe walking through it solo. There was a £10 per night charge for using it. Ordered room service- pizza. Arrived cold. I asked for a glass for the water I ordered. The glass came and was filthy. The room was cold as heating and AC operated centrally. Took 4 calls to Reception before someone answered to get them to turn the room heating on. I won’t return.

Stay here often. 1st experience where they want to charge extea for parking. They let me off with a warning that in future I will be charged. Guess what. I won't be staying again. After 32 stays. Silly

Hotel was ok! But they charge £8 per day for an empty car park parking & your breakfast is over priced! Your gym / gym equipments is far from what is advertised in the images of your hotel. Very old & DIRTY equipments. Please get your cleaners to clean your treadmill.

The staff at this hotel were efficient and handled requests promptly, which we appreciated. However, the overall condition of the hotel left much to be desired. Our first room had visible mould in the toilet, which was concerning. We requested a room change, and to the staff’s credit, this was done quickly. Unfortunately, the second room had a faulty sink, which added to the sense that the hotel is in need of better maintenance. While the service was decent, the quality of the facilities did not meet expectations.

Nice clean room, friendly staff

Spacious room but needed new furniture and a proper clean. Basically we’re all clean bed, shower, toilet but corners of room were dirty, dust behind chairs, skirting boards needed cleaning. Chair at dressing table was also filthy and covered in stains - looked like someone had spilled multiple drinks on it and then chocolate on the back of the chair.

Was not happy as was going to breakfast an someone had been sick an it was left until house keeping came in so was there when we went for breakfast an was still their when we came back from breakfast an did smell for a few hrs

We stayed for two nights, the room we were given on check-in had mould and damp on the bedroom wall and corner of the room which you could smell straightaway when opening the door. We were then given a new room which was much better, however the shower tray/plug was blocked and would fill up with water very quickly. Overall, it is a great location for traveling into Cardiff and the surrounding area. However, the hotel rooms need a revamp and update.

My room hadn't been cleaned properly, stickymarks on the furniture and stains on seats. The food in the restaurant was very good but drinks from the bar are a bit expensive.

Worked perfectly fine for our needs with an excellent location for our weekend. Very understaffed and just lacking any extra touches. Rooms and bed nice but bathroom not very clean.

Really nice hotel, front of house staff were available immediately, very polite and attentive. Bar staff were polite and friendly. The room was spotless, clean bed and bedding, bathroom was nice and fresh. Not a spec of dust to be seen. I was a little surprised to learn the hotel charge £10 a night for the car park. I don't remember this being disclosed when I booked. But overall I enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again.

Check in- no information about hotel passed. When asked about breakfast we were told it was £10/11 - false it was £12.50. We had to pay for parking! Totally unexpected, last time we stayed it was free.£10 a night. TV and air con were not working but we were not informed. Bathroom was mouldy. Fire alarm went off on the second morning at 05.47- total shambles and goodness knows what happened- no staff around - no checks made to see if all guests were out, absolutely shocking. Member of staff at reception had no idea what was happening. Will not be staying here again.

Located outside of Cardiff city centre we arrived around 10pm after a long journey and pulled into a large car park more akin to a truck stop than a hotel, which felt a little unsafe to be honest. We had 2 rooms booked and entered the open plan foyer to be greeted by a cacophony of different noises from various music & TV sources but not a single guest just 1 person sat at reception. Check in appeared to be a problem with the person looking after us unable to issue room keys until his supervisor came down, this took 10-15 minutes & all he could say was please take a seat which we really didn’t need after a long drive.- maybe a complimentary drink would have been better. The supervisor eventually sauntered in & we got our room keys. On entering we found only 1 pillow person - totally unacceptable as I have an issue with my neck & a single pillow would leave me in agony so back to reception I went to make my request for more pillows. I was told it was the policy in their hotel but they might be able to find some. They did indeed have extra pillows, genuinely I have never seen a single pillow policy in a hotel WTAF! Our room was ok apart from a couple of things, the cracked & chipped sink which had a horrid black line in it, the pedal bin with no lid and for some reason kettle etc left under the clothes rail, nowhere near a plug and in the way. The other room only had a single working plug socket which was used by a light! No vegetarian sausage alternatives at breakfast.

The bed was super comfy

Nice hotel with spacious comfy rooms. Aircon a bit noisy and vegetarian options could be improved.

The walls are too thin. You can hear people talking in the rooms either side. Bed was very comfy though

Second time staying here, and both times the room wasn't a comfortable temperature it was too cold. I understand trying to save the environment but I'd like my room to be warm

Clean room and very modern interiors the outside doesn’t do it justice!

Bathroom fan timer broken so ran constantly. Sleep was virtually impossible due to constant noise.

With the exception of the bar / lounge area when you come in, it's quite a tired hotel that could do with a refresh. Rooms have very little storage for clothes, just a rail, and feel empty. Reception often unmanned and no bell or buzzer so can be quite a wait for anyone - presumably they're either temporarily or permanently running on a small staff. Food in the restaurant is not great and the service is slow. The tables are left uncleared at breakfast, so you just find one that no one has used yet. Comfy bed and powerful shower the positives, and reasonably priced but generally wouldn't recommend.

Booked and paid for 2 rooms and hotel only had 1 room Very inconvenienced as check in at 2am, so not many options to find number room Will be requesting full refund for such a bad service

The service was outstanding, especially Pedro at the front desk. I look forward to staying there again next time I’m in Cardiff.

Tried to call reception several times no body answer

Always stat here when in Cardiff. Good clean hotel and staff are first class.

The two female receptionists were both friendly and helpful.

The Receptionist was excellent and very apologetic about the delay in checking in. Unfortunately there was a queue and only one member of staff on. However once booked in everything was fine.

Staff where exceptional, especially Christine the receptionist, went above and beyond to help me as I was taken ill

Reasonably priced hotel slightly outside of the city centre. Close enough to Uber to restaurants and bars in Roath - not walkable to anything (useful) but good if you are driving as close to the Eastern Ave (A48) for getting into and out of the city.. Very clean, friendly staff, easy parking right outside, good breakfast.

Visiting Cardiff for an event. This hotel is 3 miles from the centre, so was a bit cheaper than those in town. Easy to reach via 57 / 58 bus

Good place to stay, most attractions are nearby

A bit out of the way but very clean, shower was amazing and the bed super comfortable! A bus stop was close by and it took 15 minutes to the centre of Cardiff

Ex Trusthouse Forte hotel that now requires a little refurbishment. Air unit in the room was dirty and did not look like it had been recently serviced. Lighting in the room too dim. Also lights in bathroom not bright enough. Reasonably sized car park. Easy public transport connection to city centre, bus service from outside on the main road, 5mins walk away.

A beautiful hotel just a short drive into the City. A very comfortable room, nice communal area and a nice meal in the restaurant. Free parking was a bonus too.

Staff were very friendly. Handy for Cardiff Metropolitan University Sports campus

Great hotel and nice location if you want to stay just outside Cardiff city centre

The hotel was advertised as being in the Docklands area, Tiger Bay, it was on the other side of Cardiff. The receptionist was rude to my partner when she tried to check in as she had arrived before me. The room was smaller than expected, no fridge which was surprising. We ordered food which was terrible, so much so we had to send a plate back, the wrong side order was served. Overpriced drinks. Unsure how this hotel has the rating it does. Very disappointed as we were looking forward to staying there.

Perfectly adequate Business Hotel on the outskirts of Cardiff. Comfortable room, excellent King-size bed, would definitely stay again for a night but not for longer as not within walking distance of city centre.

Had a good stay and would stay again. The breakfast was very good and the food was lovely too. Only negative which is small but asked a few times for the remote for tv to be changed/fixed and nothing was done.

Great location, only 15 minutes in the Cardiff centre. Nice quiet hotel. Evening food was great and the breakfast was very good

Room comfortable and bathroom clean and tidy with a nice shower. Breakfast was reasonable but nothing special.

Room was big, but cold. Bed was huge and comfortable. Nice coffee machine, but not enough coffee pods or milk. Nice hot shower. A bit noisy room with hearing the traffic. Paid over £100 for 1 night, would have expected parking to be free. Menu very limited, not a lot of variety to choose and very expensive. Food was cold on delivery to the room and missed items. Cooked breakfast was cold and not a lot of tables set up. Coffee machine wasn’t working at breakfast. I had to ask to have this fixed to have a coffee.

Overall a good stay and easy access into city with easy parking too. Restaurant forgot our order in eve so had a long wait for food.

Had a nice night, room large with comfy bed. Ate at hotel restaurant,food was nice and not overly expensive. Would stay again.

Not much to look at from the outside but very nice once you step through the door. Ate in the restaurant and my food was fantastic. A really nice surprise. Room was very dark, the lighting very poor, seems to be a common theme in hotels but this was worse than most. Comfortable bed, but the thing that let the room down was the dirty cups and the tea tray absolutely caked in dust. Rest of the room seemed clean so not sure why that had been missed. A bit of a mixed bag this place but I would stay again.
