A really lovely hotel in the new town. The room was clean, really big with tea/coffee, nice toiletries and GHD hairdryer/straighteners. The staff were lovely and helpful. The food/bar were reasonably priced and breakfast was lovely. There is a nightclub in the basement, as we were on the 3rd floor this did not disturb us too much but I suspect if you are on the 1st floor this may be noisy.

Lovely hotel. So pretty. Staff lovely and Managers extra helpful. We had booked for dinner in the restaurant on Saturday night but it was far too noisy with parties so we apologised and went to quieter restaurant. Breakfast was lovely. Definitely will come back.

The elevator was broken when we checked in and they did not notify us in advance. The front desk was indifferent to it. It was fixed the next day but I have bad knees so and told them, but their attitude was tough luck, climb to the third floor. The hotel itself is very funky and cool. Its well located and it could have been an amazing visit were it not for some of the people at the front desk who don't understand the meaning of hospitality. The breakfast is okay.

Great location, with a wonderful bar/restaurant. As with most places in Edinburgh, dont forget your reservation at the restaurant, though! Room was spacious and staff extremely helpful and kind. Parking in this neighborhood is very limited and expensive, so be prepared for that.

Restaurant and bar were great. Location to shopping and Castle are within walking distance. There is no on property parking. On street pařking is expensive and needs to be monitored and updated every 3 hours.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel. Gorgeous decor a very active evening bar and restaurant on premise. Rooms just a tad small with traveling with a couple large suitcases but on all very enjoyable stay. Close to all the beautiful sites that Edinburgh has to offer. I would definitely stay there again.

Very beautiful and innovative hotel conveniently located near public transportation at the New Town of Edinburgh. Bonus points for all the amenities plus the beautiful bar and restaurant located downstairs.

Fabulous stay. The lift didn’t work for the several days I was there, so my room on the third floor was a bit (woof) difficult to run back and forth to. Service was otherwise fabulous. Great location !

Room spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were welcoming and friendly. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which was very tasty. Breakfast was a little disappointing, only things on offer were cooked breakfasts, no offer of any cereal, pastries, yoghurts or fruit. Toilets in the main part of the hotel/restaurant area weren’t the cleanest and in a little bit of disrepair. Overall a lovely stay though, nice hotel in a great location.

We were chewed up by bed bug bites. Run down hotel with no elevator and no one to help us with suitcases dragging them up a winding marble staircase. Hotel is on a noisy street and you constantly awakened all night by traffic. Drain in sink didn’t work properly. The front desk did nothing to reduce our bill due to all our bites. Kept saying they had no authority to give us one night free out of three nights booked. This hotel needs complete rehabbing. Stay away!

It was a delightful stay everyone was very lovely! We did however have a few issues that took away from the overall experience unfortunately. 1) our blanket on our bed had dried crusty food on it not very pleasant making us question the cleanliness of the room? 2) morning of our departure was so looking forward to breakfast had a busy day ahead of us unfortunately our daughters meal was put in wrong so we had to wait for the correct order while by the time it was done the rest of us were all ready finished and unfortunately it was the wrong dish again don’t really understand that waitress said oh well at least it free ? It’s not free we paid for breakfast anyway it left us a bit disappointed breakfast if out favorite meal on a busy vaca day We are all human and make mistakes but for the price I do believe we were left more disappointed than happy at the end of the day! The good and bad. The staff are INCREDIBLE. Above and beyond. The room was large but it is dated and in need of care. The shower does not work. It puts out hot and cold water at the same time. There was hair all over the bathroom and dirt/sand? In the bed. This may be obvious to locals but it is INCREDIBLY loud downstairs. Like damage your hearing and the staff gets headaches after a shift. Seems quite unnecessary. There is no one to help with bags so be aware. It’s a cool hotel but I wouldn’t return.

Why is this not a 5* hotel? Everything was perfect about our 3 night stay. I had contacted the hotel beforehand to inform them that it was mine and my partners birthdays whilst we were there. Upon arrival we were given a free drinks voucher and a room upgrade! The staff are so friendly and polite, the food is delicious and the decor and cleanliness is second to none!

One of the best hotel rooms I’ve had in a while. Super quiet. Very clean, well thought out, and modern. Dinner was the opposite. It was more of a loud night club nightmare than a restaurant. Very challenging. Food was mediocre, but the service was superb. Breakfast on the other hand was fantastic. Great food, calm, and such a delight. Room was nicely air conditioned, but it took a full day for it to cool down once it had power.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The common space at the bar and restaurant was nice and we appreciated the secret smoking room. The food and bar service was great as well. My least favorite part of the hotel was the room itself. I found the furniture to be too old, outdated and uncomfortable. The decor was funky. The comfort level of the room was not ideal for me. The hotel is beautiful. Finding the reservation desk was a little tricky. It is not up front like you would expect. The room was very spacious and so was the bathroom. The floors were a little squeaky but then again it is a very old building. Hot chocolate, bottled water and biscuits cookies were also in the room. They did have a mini bar with drinks and snacks if you wanted to purchase. The hotel was a short walk from the train station in New Town and to walk back to Old Town was a 15 minute walk. I would definitely stay here again. Even the bar was amazing!!!

We visit Edinburgh once a year and often visit Tiger Lily, but this is the 1st time we’ve stayed. Great location, beautiful large room with views from over Leith. Huge shower room with robes. Fab place for food and cocktails ♥️

Stayed at the Tigerlily with my family. It was an excellent experience from the moment we arrived. The staff at the restaurant and check-in were very welcoming. The room was very spacious, clean and accommodated all of our needs. The location was excellent and very central to everything Edinburgh has to offer. We definitely recommend the Tigerlily and will stay here the next time we return to Edinburgh.

Loved Tigerlily but the front desk staff were terribly rude. Not at all the Scot hospitality of others I encountered on my stay. The place itself is beautiful. The room and restaurant, amazing. Wish the front desk were nicer and had helped more with questions and recommendations.

We went through to see the Who concert on Sunday night and they were excellent. We went for a few drinks with friends afterwards and never got back to the hotel until after 1am but couldn’t get back into the hotel. After 20 minutes. Someone opened the door for us. Got up for a much deserved cooked breakfast which took 40 minutes to come to our table after ordering. Asked for brown sauce, I was one of many who did the same but was told they were waiting for a delivery for a few days and had none. Surely, someone could have gone to the shops and bought a couple of bottles of HP.. a restaurant manager who cared enough about the needs of the diners would have.. Room was great with a big comfy bed..just a shame about the restaurant, let themselves down. David Cranmer.

From beginning to end everyone was very pleasant and friendly and service was prompt. The room and bathroom are spacious, clean and relaxing. Front of house staff when we arrived were quite rude. The young lady who served us didn’t move off her seat to help with the bags we were leaving and had assured she would call when our room was ready but we arrived at 3.20 and it was ready?! As a first impression at a high standard expensive hotel (which I stay in a lot ) was definitely not appropriate to your level of service that should be provided. We weren’t made to feel particularly welcome. I won’t be rushing to return or recommend to others unfortunately.

The hotel location is in the center of Edinburgh. Castle, monument and a lot of bars, restaurants are in walking distance. The hotel room is spacious and clean. Staff are friendly and willing to help. We had a wonderful time there. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous hotel with very unique decor. Our room was lovely and big and nice and quiet. Would prefer a kettle to make tea rather than using a coffee machine as water not as hot and a bit faffy. Downstairs the seating and bar were really lovely but it was so noisy with loud music that we couldn’t have a drink there. You couldn’t hear yourself think. That was disappointing as we came in after dinner for a night cap but went straight up to our room instead. Maybe it’s more for youngsters to enjoy rather than older couples. Great choice of breakfast and it was very tasty, best breakfast we’ve had in a while.

Our room was nice. The environment in the lobby and the restaurant on Friday and Saturday was like being in a bar rather than a Hotel. the music was absolutely blasting so we had had yell to have a conversation while eating dinner. and checking in to the hotel I understand having a bar in a hotel but the entire first floor of the hotel was a tacky bar vibe. At breakfast on Sunday we were charge 5 pounds for each cup of coffee and additional 5 pounds for each refill! We will not be back!

Very convenient location , lovely hotel and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. I was disappointed with our evening meal in the restaurant, the sea bass was tasteless and my partners meal ( Korean chicken bowl ) was over cooked . The restaurant was packed I think the kitchen must have been under pressure resulting in a disappointing meal
